Long-distance move from California to Washington

Really good work.

I wanted to stop and place a good review for this company because they were the reason I was able to make a long distance move without stress. I was called after having checked them out online and asking for a quote. The sales rep I spoke to was a really big help in my understanding how the moving process works.

There were a couple of dates I was considering and the rep actually helped me pick the one that would be least expensive and kept me in the time frame I was hoping for.

When the days of the moves came the movers were in and out like pros, taking care of the property there as their own. I noticed them wrapping a few of the big furniture for more protection against scratches, a great part of the service they provide at no extra cost.

I discovered this company online, saw they had a good reputation, and they did everything to maintain that reputation. Thank you guys for all the good work.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Washington

Great job.

I'm stopping by to thank you for getting us to our new home before Easter. We were very happy to hear from you guys three days before the movers were to get to us letting us know that they could be at the new place earlier than we expected.

We did not want to have to pack all our things ourselves and this was one of the services that made it so we chose this company. The movers walked in and put everything in boxes then loaded the truck and were gone in no time.

Thanks to these guys, we'll be able to enjoy the holidays with family at our new home. We have other family moving to be closer to us and we'll be sure to suggest this company to them. Great job!

Long-distance move from Ohio to California

Excellent customer service.

There was all we could want in a moving company with Assurance Van Lines. They really put in the time and effort to make sure the move went exactly as we planned.

The sales rep spent time on the phone with me taking my full inventory so as to provide a better quote. After speaking to the rep for a couple of days I scheduled a move for two weeks later and got confirmation of it.

I was called before the movers got to us and they were at my place right on time. The movers were very nice and professional and helped out with a couple of extra items that were around not packed yet.

The truck arrived at our new place right on time again and our things were unloaded very quickly. We checked our inventory list to make sure all was there and not damaged, nothing was.

This company was there every step of the way when we had any questions and the customer service was excellent.

Long-distance move from South Carolina to Georgia

Horrible Move - too many pics to post.

This move, in my opinion, was heartbreaking. I boxed all of my own items and had those prepared for the mover on the 14th of April, 2017. Assurance, I assume, contracts out to other companies to do their moves and I was assigned to Five Star Van Lines, Inc. I called Assurance on the 13th to find out the arrival time of the movers and was given an 11am to 2pm time window for the 14th . On the night (11:03pm) of the 13th , I was texted by someone at Five Star that they would be at my pickup location at 12:30pm in Columbia, SC.

I drove from Atlanta, GA, on the 14th to South Carolina to be available for the pickup. At 12:30pm, a young man that said he was contacted from a Craig’s list add showed up at my home to “help” the moving company with my move. Again, this was some random person that had never met the movers or was not an employee of the company. The contact from Five Star did not call me to change the time, but when the worker that showed up texted his Five Star contact, he was told that they would not be there until 2pm. The worker had to leave and come back as he nor I were advised of the time change in advance.

The Five Star moving van did show up around 2:37pm as did the worker procured form Craigslist. The rep (Viktor) from Five Start immediately started complaining about all of my boxes and the additional costs, etc. I was not overly surprised that there would be addt’l boxes added on, but the theatrics were not necessary. So, right away, my costs go up a few hundred dollars. Again, I was ok with this occurring as long as my items were handled carefully.

The move FROM South Carolina was OK. The only damage that occurred there was that the young man hired from Craig’s list demolished the baseboards and quarter rounds in my kitchen as he took boxes out of the garage door. I now have to repair this prior to Friday, August 21st, as this is the closing on that house. However, other than that, the move seemed to be fine. I did not like the representative from Five Star as he was kind of rude and there was some communication issues due to English not being his first language. When the movers left that day, the rep indicated that he would be in Atlanta, GA, the next afternoon…”sometime after the morning”….and that he would call me the next day to confirm the time.

I drove back to Atlanta that night in prep for the move the next day. Keep in mind, in order to accommodate the ambiguity of the movers’ schedule, I left Atlanta at 4am on 4/14 and returned that night at 10:30pm. Suffice to say, I was exhausted.

When I got up the next morning, the 15th, I received a call at 9:59am from Viktor. He states at that time that he and his team will be at my house to unload my items in an hour and a half. He also states at that time that I have to pay him by money order/cash before he unloads my items. I told him that I paid an upfront deposit so that I could pay by credit card. He refers me to his boss, so that I can discuss with him. I called this man who tells me that I can pay by credit card, but I have to pay a 5% credit card up fee (which I was never told). He also states I have to print out a form and fill it out with all of my credit card information and copy of the card front and back. I EXPLAINED I WAS VERY VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH SENDING MY INFORMATION THIS WAY. At that time, he told me to “pay or my items would not be delivered”. He said that was his policy and he didn’t care if I wasn’t aware. I had to pay him and do what he wanted or he would tell his drivers to not deliver my products. I also called Assurance and they stated that was the vendor’s policy and I had to do it. So, keep in mind, I have no items to print a document in my home. I had to go find an Office Depot, print this form, send copies of all of my vital info (DL) and a copy of the card front and back. I could have done all of this ahead of time if I had been informed. I did this as I had no other way to get my items. Basically, they were held hostage. As I am finishing up, the rep, Viktor, calls me to tell me to come to the house. I explain I am getting the documentation to his boss and will be there as quickly as possible. He kept saying on the phone for me to “hurry ma’am” and that I was messing up their schedule (which by the way is not the one I was given). In that short time, he had called me two times to harass me in the same way. I arrived at my home by 11:14am, so even if I followed the schedule he gave me when he called at 9:59am to tell me arrival was in an hour and a half, I was on time.

So, again, another Craig’s list employee showed up. Again, the hired hand himself told me that he was procured from Craig’s list. I can’t complain about his work as he was the hardest worker of all; however, he was not licensed, bonded, background checked, etc.

Viktor starting complaining immediately about the townhome and that there would be an additional charge for the stairs (again, I wasn’t overly surprised by that). That was acceptable as I wanted to make sure that my furniture and belongings would get the “white glove” treatment promised with Assurance.

It took about 3 hours for most of the move to be completed. In that time, the furniture that was moved upstairs was pushed and scraped through the floors. EVERY single item that was moved upstairs has scratches, dents, or visible damage. In addition to that, the walls in my home are filthy and damaged. The wooden banister has been scratched and GOUGED in many many places. The place was just painted before I moved in, so the only one accountable for the mess I now have are the movers. I have begun the very detailed process of taking pics of everything. I was only able to record a couple of the problems on my forms from Five Star as the rep was rushing and complaining so much about having to go. Additionally, before putting my bed together, the rep tells me I have to get more screws because the ones they have a stripped. So, I tell him Home Depot is up the road (2 miles) and I will go get more screws. Before I can get in the store, he has called me to tell me to hurry….which I did. I was gone twenty minutes and he called me four times to harass me about hurrying and affecting his schedule (2:38pm, 2:51pm, 3:01pm and 3:03pm). I did not answer the last two calls.

So, when I arrived back at my home, he was waiting for me to of course tell me how I am holding up his move although I was only doing what he asked and very timely, I will add. I explained if he had followed the schedule he gave me the day before and had let me know early enough, I could have had everything done that he requested prior to the anticipated afternoon arrival. I had to be really rude and yell at him to get him to listen.

They rushed finishing up my bed and left. I was on the verge of tears at this point I was so angry and as I starting noticing all of the damage.

Since they have left, I have found random pieces of some furniture that should have been attached to something…haven’t married all of the loose pieces with the furniture types. I am busy assessing all of the damage, but thus far, I have not found any furniture within my upstairs rooms that are not damaged.

I was so upset Saturday that I was hysterical. I take very good care of my things. All of my bedroom furniture was new before this move and now I have a hodge podge of damaged stuff.

I paid almost $3000 for this move, so there is no reason my service should not have been exemplary.

I have reached out to several times and they have not provided a claim call number or link. They keep sending me excerpts from the contract indicating they are not liable for all of the damages.

BEWARE..NOT LICENSE BONDED MOVERS OR EXPERIENCED..NO MEANS FOR RECOURSE..NO DESIRE TO ADDRESS CONCERNS AT ALL. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE FOLLOW UP FROM ASSURANCE VAN LINES AT ALL.

Long-distance move from Louisiana to Colorado

Very easy and fast move.

My move took place about two weeks ago and it was the best move with a moving company by far. I move every few years for my job so I've used a number of these companies before, and Assurance Van Lines stood out to me as the best I've ever used.

From the moment I called and spoke with a sales rep, I started getting responses to questions I needed and concerns stemming from previous times using moving companies. All things I wanted were put in writing and confirmed by me before I set the move up.

The movers themselves were at my place for the pick up on time, and they were only there for about two hours before heading back out. I was able to look over a list with all my things to confirm what was going out.

The move ended with the movers arriving on time once again and having the truck unloaded in the same amount of time, showing me these guys were true pros. I thank Assurance Van Lines for their good work with this move.

Long-distance move from Hoffman Estates, IL to Pawtucket, RI

Very, very bad Moving Brokers.

Beware - Any one using this broker - ready to be insulted, ignored and lied to. I recently relocated from IL to RI. Everything these people say is a LIE.
1. They do not own anything - trucks, drivers - nothing.
2. They will lie through their teeth and say anything to get your deposit. Once they have it, you are screwed.
3. Be ready to pay almost 1/3 more than they will quote you a binding quote because the the person who will show up to pack you will tell you that he is prepared to walk away and you lose your thousand dollar deposit because YOU breach the contract. They will suck you in and bleed you dry.
4. Do not believe when they say that they will make your move as stress free as possible. Good luck even getting a reply to your email or phone calls.
5. Do not believe when you hear them say that they will manage your move from start to finish and they are the POC through out the moving process.
6. My contract was sold off to 3 people before I finally got to the people who would actually moved me.
7. Be ready for the rudest, most unprofessional movers. I was told to my face by the mover that they will not even try to bring my couch in to my apt. That, I should sell my sofa on Ebay or throw it away or give it away. My couch is still sitting outside my front door. I have to hire local people to bring it in.
8. I even called and emailed to say that I will take them to court and file a small claims in court - they don't give a rat's --*
9. Beware - you will have a horror story to post. You be a fool to use this company. Better look at the trucks moving on the highway and calling they directly.
10. Finally, I wanted these people to make it right - again, they really don't csre and no amount of talking will get them to do right by you.
For me, lesson learned. Assurance Van Lines is NOT a business to do any business with. Very unethical.

Long-distance move from Fort Myers, FL to Laguna Niguel, CA

Move from Florida to California.

Don't use them at all costs!
They are a true scam. We gave then exact dimensions on everything and was given a binding estimate which has no true pricing. They try giving you discount for AAA, Armed service, senior citizen but it doesn't mean anything. The driver who arrived for pickup was a running a game. First he stated our cube was too low on estimate at 417 and would need to increase by $800. When we showed him our paperwork from Assurance it was 611. He promptly changed his story on cube to 750. Wow! We called Assurance and they stated final price is not calculated until driver brings it to warehouse. It is another lie! Customer service rep started yelling at me saying you need to pay the difference. I was so scared from her attempted bulling. NOT! We brought estimate down from $800 to $350. They either lost or stole a 2 wheeler. The inventory list was a shamble with many stickers missing.
My suggestion is to make sure someone comes to your house for an estimate. Also ask the question whether they pickup and deliver the load so as to avoid multiple handling.
We really didn't need the furniture and were retired so they couldn't squeeze us but I would feel sorry if I was moving my family and had a strict timetable. Also I don't where their positive reviews originate but I doubt if they are real.

Long-distance move from Illinois to New Jersey

Perfect move.

My move with Assurance was amazing. The day of the move I was called by the truck driver to make sure I was available and that they were still going to be the ones packing my things for me. They reached my place right on time and began to load the truck, having the place empty in record time, but all in organized manner.

Every time I called in to speak with the rep I first booked the move with, she was available and ready to answer my questions with friendliness and knew all the answers without putting me on hold for long periods of time.

This is a very good moving service, living up to their good online reputation. There was nothing wrong, out of place, missing, or damaged. This was basically a perfect move. Thanks a lot Assurance for taking care of my valuables.

Long-distance move from Utah to Washington

Move went great.

I picked Assurance because a friend of mine used them recently and he recommended them to me, I must say I'm not dissatisfied. Assurance really put the extra effort into making me happy. Everything offered was conducive to an easy and fast move, all while staying within an affordable budget. The rep gave me many options in terms of dates so as to save money, and he had lot of advice on how to set the move up so we can stick to a specific time frame.

The price quote did not vary once I signed up with them as I was worried it would. This was a main reason I accepted my friend's suggestions to use Assurance for this move. I had a pretty big house to pack up and move long distance, but the movers were experts and were done in about two hours, seemingly record time.

After the had everything in the truck one of the movers gave me a list of all my things to go through and check that all was accounted for. This was a part of the service I really appreciated because it showed that they would make sure all got to me as it left.

I am very happy and satisfied having chosen Assurance for my moving needs. Just like my friend passed their information on to me, I'm sure I'll do the same if or when it comes up with another one of my friends in the near future.

Long-distance move from Nebraska to South Carolina

Really good movers.

I couldn’t have picked a better moving company than Assurance Van Lines. All my requests were taken care of and the reps I spoke to were the most helpful and courteous. I wanted the pickup and drop off to be on specific dates and the folks over at assurance saw to it that it worked out for me as such.

The pricing was also very fair and affordable. I got a higher quote initially due to how much stuff was being relocated but after a couple of detailed inventory review and discounts the price was right where we needed it to be for us to move forward.

There were a lot of services assurance offered that the rep let us know about and we decided to go with the full service move. When the movers came all we had to do was let them in the house and they proceeded to pack and load everything in sight.

The day of drop off the movers got to us in the morning and were out of there before noon. All of our things were in the same condition as when they left and nothing was missing. That was all we really wanted out of this was to get our things on the dates we chose and to not lose anything to damage. Assurance Van Lines really made it all possible and we appreciate it.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Beaverton, OR

Do Not Use.

I am writing to you tell you the absolute horrific experience which I have had with your company, and how disappointed I am with the service, or lack thereof. I am absolutely devastated and disturbed by this entire experience, and I hope that someone in upper management can assist me. I moved long distance, from San Diego to Beaverton. I spoke with one of your representatives by the name of "Jeffrey C', who organised my move. Jeffrey was very nice over the phone, and appeared genuine. I explained to him that I was relocating from San Diego, California, to Beaverton, Oregon.

I had a one bedroom apartment worth of furniture to move to my new home. I explained to Jeffrey how I was beginning a new job once I arrived to Oregon, and that it was important that I receive my furniture, clothing and materials for work in a timely manner. I had many moving companies calling me to try to gain my business. I went with your company after Jeffrey told me that he would be able to provide me with competitive pricing. This is due to the fact that there was supposedly another move happening around the dates of my scheduled move, which was June 5th and June 6th 2017. Jeffrey told me that your company would be able to split their truck with my furniture and clothing and materials for work, and that you would get my belongings up to Oregon within 2-3 days. He assured me that that the truck would drive directly from California to Oregon.

Once the pick up men showed up to my residence in San Diego, they told me that my truck would in fact be going to Las Vegas, where it would then be dropped off in a warehouse, then collected by another truck and then taken to Oregon, and that it would take at least a week. This company is called Executive Movers and Storage. You can imagine my surprise and shock at this completely different information, to what I had originally been promised by Jeffrey. I told these pick up drivers this, and they apologised and told me that Assurance Van Lines should not make promises that they cannot keep. I began to panic and had to re-pack some of my things, as I had a flight the next day. This company then called their office which is based in Las Vegas and spoke with Erika, one of their customer service reps. She assured me that in an attempt to help me out after being let down by Assurance Van Lines, they would get my belongings out of Vegas and into Oregon as soon as possible, and they told me that I should receive my belongings around the weekend, (10th/11th June 2017).

It is now June 12th and I have heard absolutely nothing from anyone, as to where my belongings are. I called Executive Movers and Storage and they were quite rude to me over the phone, and told me that my things have not left Las Vegas yet and that I will be receiving a call when they do. She said I should expect a 7-14 day wait, after they leave Las Vegas.

This is a very huge difference to the 2-3 days that I was originally promised. Your rep completely lied to me about the time frame, and the move in general. This is an absolutely despicable way to treat another human being, to flat out lie to a customer to get their business. I work in a customer service role as well and I would never dream of treating somebody like this. I have since been sleeping on the floor of my new home, and have been living out of a suitcase. I still have no idea of when (if ever), I will receive my belongings. I paid a $600 deposit to your company to secure my booking, and $550 to the pick up guys. I do not think that I should pay a dollar more after this outrageous lack of respect for a customer. I would appreciate it if somebody in management called me immediately to sort out this mess and make things right. I'm sure if this happened to any one of you, or your family, you would find this as distressing as I do. Every person I have told about this is completely appalled and disgusted.

Long-distance move from Tulsa, OK to Dallas, TX

Horrible Experience!

Beware of using this BROKER company! Jason Camenzuli presented a seemingly seamless service to move my mother from Oklahoma to Texas, 264 miles. He promised to be my contact up through the move. Lie. I could not reach him after this "sell" conversation - by phone or email. Instead, I could only speak with a random CSR with minimal knowledge of anything but that day of the week. I specifically confirmed my items with Jason Camenzuli, and he quoted $1299. Yet, at pickup, the contracted mover, Joel with All Over the State Moving Service, advised me that my specified items would not fit on the truck unless I paid an additional $300. (I had to secure two money orders payable to All Over the State Moving Service, one rendered at pick up and the other rendered at delivery. I ultimately added $150 cash at pick up in exchange for a receipt because I had already secured my money orders). Jason Camenzuli promised pickup and delivery on June 10th if I would sign the estimate immediately so the system would hold my spot. Lie. Joel, who was the contracted mover with All Over the State Moving Service, picked up the items on June 10th and delivered them on June 13th. Jason Camenzuli told me I could save money if I would agree to share the truck. He said the truck would be split in half with my items never touching the other load headed to Plano. He said that my items would be accessible through the door on the side of the truck. He said that it was all too convenient, and it seemed so to me. Lie. Joel with All Over the State Moving Service picked up the items in a Uhaul style, box truck which contained only my items as far as I know. Joel with All Over the State Moving Service further informed me at pick up that I would have to pay an additional $75 for any stair steps beyond SEVEN at delivery. Do I cancel at this point and lose my $449 deposit? My back is against the wall. Jason Camenzuli and Kyle O'Neil of "Quality Assurance" told me I would receive a call a few days before the move to confirm the pick up time. Lie. Joel with All Over the State Moving Service called at 3 pm to alert that he would pick up my items between 6 pm and 7 pm THAT DAY..just three hours from the time of his call. These people are despicable and got me on consumer ignorance. I was asked to electronically sign the estimate to solidify my reservation. I obliged WITHOUT reading the contract details which exonerated and protected only Assurance and its affiliates to act a fool. Jason pressured for the sale, and never told me he was merely a broker in it for my deposit. He ran my credit card and was done with me. Kyle tickled my ear and was done. The CSRs were clueless and rude, and served only as warm bodies to answer the phone during business hours. We saved $300 by going with Assurance, considering the average quote from door to door direct movers. DO NOT USE ASSURANCE VAN LINES! Be guarded in using any van lines if customer service and transparency is important to you.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Texas

Moving.

I have moved my whole life, being in a military family. This company has been hands down the worst move I've made in my life. We were charged 2,000 dollars over what was originally quoted when it was all said and done. And it is taking over a month to get our stuff. This has caused my wife and I to sleep on the floor without covers, pillows, anything at all. Every conversation I've had with this company has gotten litterally nowhere. Worst customer service ever. This company does not value its costumer and should be the last on anyone's list of brokers.

Long-distance move from New York to Mississippi

Great Service.

I had a big move recently from NY to back home in Mississippi. I wasn't sure what to do and this was my first time using movers. Half of my stuff was in storage in Queens and the other half was where I was living in Washington Heights. I was on a budget but knew I needed a mover's help with furniture and other things. I did a bunch of google searches and came up with some names of movers. I also posted on FB which helped a lot because I got lots of responses from that. After calling each company I decided on Assurance Van Lines. They were the most affordable and willing to work with my situation. They gave me an estimate that was acceptable for me. The movers were very efficient and I felt comfortable that I went with this company. Very glad I didn't go with anyone else. The whole move went very smoothly.

Had a great experience using Assurance Van Lines. I gave the rep over the phone a rough idea of what I would be moving and she gave me a fairly accurate quote. Thank You Assurance Van Lines.

I just want to start off by saying this moving company saved my life! I just moved from New Jersey to New York and I really had no idea how I was going to do this alone. I stumbled across Assurance Van Lines on Google and decided to call and give it a try.

The quote I got over the phone wasn't exactly how much the move came out to, but they did such a great job that I didn't mind. All of my belongings got to my new house in a SUPER timely manner and nothing was damaged, thank god. Would definitely recommend.

Great experience.

Life savers!! I used Assurance Van Lines when I moved from Connecticut to New York. I was nervous being that it was my first time moving, but they made everything as smooth as possible. I sat back and let them handle everything which was easy to do because they were so reliable and communicative with me. Any time I had questions, I could expect a response within a reasonable time frame. They were also punctual and the price was very affordable ($2200) My biggest fear was broken or missing furniture, but they took care of my furniture as if it were their own. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and I'm so thankful for the help.

Try to avoid this company.

There are not even moving company. They are ajent. They will give you many discount to book your order but it has nothing to do when actual movers come for pick up. They will give you whole new estimate and this guys will not even listen to you. They will tell you about 30 days free storage all that good stuff but nothing is true. Agent with you book your move will never pick up your phone again. I just moved last month with them in May-2017 and I had a horrible experience with my move. Try to avoid this company.

Glad to have found them!

The scariest part of moving is actually being able to take all of your beloved possessions with you in one piece. I alone was not up for the job, and I had no clue what to do. After several stressful nights searching for a company to help me with the move, I went on a limb and contacted these guys, and thank God I did so. They guided my through everything and managed to basically transport my entire house across state with absolutely no damage done. Everything arrived on time and in perfect condition, you wouldn't believe how relieved I was was. If the stars don't speak for themselves, I would definitely recommend these guys for any type of move.

Really good experience.

I had the best moving experience with Assurance van lines. Starting with all the things I had to ask them, I was on the phone with reps and managers for long periods of time and I felt my concerns were all being addressed. There were many services I had a chance to take advantage of, from the full service move to guaranteed dates.

The movers were very professional and were able to clear my house speedily and as organized as can be and could ask for. There was nothing missing or damaged when it got to my new place. I checked on the inventory list also to make sure all was there.

The move went as planned and customer service did a good job of keeping me informed as to where my things were. This was a great move and I'll likely use Assurance again for my moving needs in the future. I will also recommend them to anyone looking for a good moving company.

The best moving experience of my life! From the beginning of the process to the end of the process I was worry free. When arranging the moving date I received great customer service and the representative made it easy to set a date for the move and assured me that my items were going to be handled with the utmost care, and that;'s EXACTLY what I happened.

All of my belongings were moved to my new home in New Jersey beautifully organized. It made the flight from Georgia so much more peaceful knowing that my move was in the hands of Assurance Van Lines.

I will be sure to recommend Assurance Van Lines to all my friends.

Easy & Humble Service.

For a respectful price to cover many miles within the state. Storing and packaging was easy to do. Everything thankfully fit in the moving truck. The drivers provided helpful advice on what should be placed in specific spacing order. The customer service was patient with me in answering all my questions. First time ever moving and having o rely on a company. I'm glad I selected AVL.

Move Into Manhattan !

I was so nervous moving all my new furniture and digital equipment into the city, but the Team at Assurance Van Lines did a tremendous job. They preplanned the move with me with exact specifications and they followed through accordingly. All my things were brand new and they were so careful with them, plus they had me all set up in my new apartment earlier than I expected. Moving into Manhattan is usually an adventure, but it was smooth as can be with Assurance.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Durham, NC

Completely satisfied with the service!

While setting up my move, I did encounter a slightly rude associate, but all issues were resolved before the end of the call. The movers arrived on time and didn't waste much time getting to work! Communications were smooth. Was impressed with the packing methods as I own several precious items that I've collected in my years of traveling. Price wasn't too bad for the service I received. I'd use them again!
