Assurance Van Lines

Assurance just moved me and I couldn't have been happier with them. I found them online and their great reputation was 100% well-deserved. They had great communication, arrived early, had a great attitude at all times and were fast and efficient!! They did some packing in my garage and moved all the furniture and a bunch of boxes I had packed. They packed up my TV in a crate to keep it safe and wrapped all the furniture as well. Everything arrived in the exact same condition it went onto the truck. They were personable, careful with my stuff, fast and hard-working. I can't say enough good things about them!!

Service cost: $1500

I ran into a bit of a problem midway through the move. It was my fault but they handled it so well I thought they deserved a little praise. First off booking was so easy, let me tell you! I called in answered a couple questions then got a rough estimate. We talked a bit more and she gave me a few pointers on how to save money packing. Just so cheerful! I booked then and there and they emailed me a confirmation and told me what needed to be done by then. Boxes packed. Appliances unhooked. Ready to go. The moving team who came at 2p.m were very good and loaded so efficiently! By the time they had driven off I had 6 more days until they were expected to arrive. About 2 days later I realized the arrival time was too early and I wouldn't have access to the new house until the following day. I called in, got the location of the truck en route, and asked them to delay it. They did no questions asked and no extra fees charged! I absolutely WOULD recommend them anyone who wants a good company to do the job right!

Service cost: $2526

Do not use these people, as they are just brokers, then farm out your move to bad movers, they base their estimates, which they call binding (this is a joke) on any previous moves you may have made. Then you are stuck as they have your down payment, movers show , they are late, short handed & ill prepared. Then you are over charged, they change drivers and when you rec. your goods after waiting 20 days, they unload poorly, boxes were upside down, crushed, and broken, and half were soaking wet as they apparently changed drivers and vans somewhere in the rain. I seem to have some trust issues at this point.
The delivery driver was scary, claimed to be religious and was huge, he had no help, finally found some , I think, from a youth center in a distant inner city town, nice boys, but two said they had never done this before, and said also the driver had to stop and buy a hauling dolly, I spent two hours the next day cleaning broken glass off street. Then I noticed they put their trash in my can and took my can with them!!
Now I see my 4 step utility ladder is missing. I am calling my insurance company to handle loss and let it go into litigation , see how they like having there $$ tied up for three years!

They are really sneaky and cheap brokers, They will promise you something like (we will have it delivered on this date, but when stuff goes wrong, they will tell you look at the contract, this is what it said. Seriously do not use a broker for a move, go directly with a moving company and cut the middle man out, they will not help you with anything extra and just add more of a headache and people, read the CONTRACT word by word these moving companies are extremely sneaky and dishonest, they will say something then have something els in the contract that says otherwise. People at Van line will take advantage of you if you do not read the contract, know what you are getting your self into, it dose not matter how long the distance is from pick up to delivery, (all deliveries may take anywhere from 1-21 business days). So they can keep your stuff for 21 Business days if this is the "busy season" don't go with them as really the cheap price was not worth the anguish and sleeping on the floor for 2 weeks now. All of the bad reviews are true and I doubt he makes hundreds of trips, they are just unprofessional and dishonest. Good luck everyone on your moves. Also before I end this, they will tell you they only accept cash, but when you tell them you want to pay with a credit card, guess what they will agree and charge you a fee without telling you, so hidden fees are part of their job as well.

This is the worst company ever. I hired Assurance to move from PA to FL. They are fast talkers and will say anything to get your business. Once they get your money, they will then give your move to another crappy company. The movers were schedule to arrive in the afternoon, but didn't arrive until 9pm. It was midnight when they were finished. The movers said the the furniture would be delivered on Wednesday. Well, two weeks later we received our furniture. We have many broken and missing items. I have been trying to two months to get my missing items, with no luck. Assurance Van Lines won't help. Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company. It would be better to move yourself that it hire them.

Horrible customer service. There hold business model is gain the business as cheaply as possible, dump it on a contracted mover and then wash their hands of everything. No customer service, no communication. You talk with a different person every time you call. They push a hastily written, poorly communicated "agreement" as their excuse for doing nothing for customers. Another lesson learned for me is when you go for the "cheap" alternative you always, always pay more in the long run in other ways. Bad, bad choice.

Moving is stressful on it's on, let alone moving between states. I was very stressed considering I didn't know the first thing about finding the right moving company. When I found Assurance all my worries were put to rest. The movers were friendly, took very good care of all my property. They were quick and efficient, and most importantly careful. All my things arrive to me in the same good condition that they left. I recommend Assurance Van Lines to anyone looking for work well done.

I recently made my first big move for a job. Assurance Van Lines made the moving process very easy and stress-free. The movers were very careful with my things and were friendly and efficient! I was very nervous about damaging my property or movers that were careless but they put all my worries at ease. My things arrived at the new house exactly the way they were before they were packed away. Will definitely recommend Assurance Van Lines to anyone looking for a mover.

Let me start by saying I never used their services because I had to cancel them on the moving day because of poor customer service.

Facts people should know

1. This is not a moving company instead they are brokers who charge you and contract your job to another moving company but honestly there is nothing wrong with that as long as they refer you to a good moving company so though I knew this I went ahead with them hoping if I'm being charged 400$ deposit upfront for their services they would refer me to a good moving company.

2. Though the policy says the deposit is refundable it is only if you cancel it out 7 days before your moving date but the problem is they won't disclose you the details of the moving company until 48 hrs before the move at least that's what happened in my case

3. The moving company assigned to me had very bad ratings online. I was worried so called the assurance van lines on Monday he day before my move and they referred me to the moving company and customer service was not good the lady I spoke to was not even courteous enough to answer my questions properly. So I called back assurance van lines and they said it's too close they can't do anything.

Despite knowing I'll loose my deposit I cancelled and booked another moving company because my furniture is worth more money than what I'm paying for the move and honestly I would have paid extra if they were little courteous enough while talking to their customers.

Again this is only my experience some one whose contract went to a good moving company might have had a great experience but the problem is you won't know the moving company until 48 hrs prior to the move and if you don't like them it's too late to cancel as the deposit becomes non refundable.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $1435

Overall good move and service. I was impressed with how good the sales rep and customer service treated us each time we called with questions. The rep did a good job of helping me choose a date that would also fit with my budget.

There were a bunch of details I needed clarifying and the rep was more than happy to, going so far as sending me an email with all the information about the move and how things work.

When the movers got to our house they wasted no time in loading our things and making the place look empty. Before they left I got a chance to look over a list of my things.

The move ended with the movers dropping everything off about a week later. All took place very smoothly, one minute they were getting there, the next everything was inside the house and they were back on their way.

This was a good moving company and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fast and easy move.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1700

I literally never write these reviews but I had such a horrible experience from these crooks that I had to make sure no one else books them.

As you probably have figured out, they are not a moving company. They are a brooker who hire local movers in your area to do the job.

They guaranteed me:
1. 1 day pickup and delivery which I told them was not negotiable and they agreed to it - in the contract which cost me $200 to secure.
2. That the movers would call me the day before to schedule a pickup time
3. That if I had any problems their customer service line would straighten it out

None of those things occurred. I never received a call from the movers to schedule the pickup. Also, because of some confusion before that, it seemed like they were not going to come at all. I then called / emailed everyone I had spoken with and worked with and no one responded. They completely went rogue and disappeared.

Eventually, the local movers came - they gave me a 30 minute heads up which was obviously not ideal but at least they were coming. I was moving cities and they showed up at noon (not a good sign for a 1 day move). They then told me that they could not move me in a day - as guaranteed. They then told me that they could deliver it by the next morning - which I ended up agreeing to but was pretty upset because I had to rebook my travel arrangements (again - going to another city) which cost $400.

The next day, they did not arrive until 1 PM despite guaranteeing again that they would be there by noon. I figured they had realized they had completely messed this up and that when I spoke to customer service, they would at the very least compensate me for the $400 traveling I had to rebook.

Instead, the customer service lady yelled at me. It was amazing really. I could not believe it. I would sue them for breaching their contract if it was any real substantial amount of money but it is not worth the headache and heartache.

The one good thing I would say is that the local movers were pretty understanding and did a good job (besides being late and delivering everything late).

AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I moved last month from Denver to Long Island. I was very worried- this was my first really big move and I wanted it to work out perfectly!! A friend who lives in manhattan also recently moved so I asked her what moving company she used and if they were good, efficient and affordable. I went with Assurance Van Lines because my friend had a smooth experience with them and recommended them. I was very happy with the whole move and would recommend them to anyone in my situation looking for a reputable service.

Definitely the smoothest moving experience I've ever had! We moved quite a long distance, so I had concerns about ensuring everything was transported safely. Thankfully, AVL was extremely professional and the move went perfectly! Friendly, prompt, and, most importantly, all of my belongings were completely intact upon arrival. This had the potential to be a very stressful move, but AVL's professionalism made a huge difference! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to move, even over long distances.

Assurance Van Lines was an excellent service that suited all my moving needs. I am recently divorced and had difficulty finding a company to accommodate my schedule and financial situation. I was pleased to find that this company was flexible when it came to scheduling appointments, in addition to working with me regarding payments. I am satisfied with the services provided by this company and would recommend this company to others. The only con to the company I noticed was the minimal amount of staff, but they were still able to efficiently transport my possesions to the new location.

I recently moved from New York to Maryland. Had a great experience with Assurance Van Lines. I spoke to someone initially who coordinated the move and gave me a quote. When the movers arrived they were quick and very careful with moving my furniture and belongings into the truck. I had an issue with moving in the past- where something was damaged very badly. Not with Assurance. Their professionalism and handling of my belongings put me at ease and the price was right. I will use them again and would highly recommend this company.

In process of NIGHTmare move with Assurance Van Lines. My belongings were picked up from VA 15 May and taken to storage in MD. I knew there was going to be a problem when the company (Budget) came to my residence a day EARLY and provided paperwork from Budget Moving. I contacted Budget a month ago to request delivery of my household goods, and have been in a holding pattern. Neither Assurance or Budget able to lock down a date. 2 weeks ago, I was able to finally get a delivery date of 6, 7 or 8 July. Was told I would have only a 24 hr notice. I called today (5 July), was on terminal hold with rude customer service woman who again refers me to THEIR contractor. Mind you-ASSURANCE choose lame contractor-not me. Now that I have taken off the 6, 7, and 8th from work in anticipation of only 24 hr notice-I finally got through to contractor who today says will be another "week or so". Have made MANY moves in my Military career, including 6 overseas moves. Have never had worse or ruder service. I will head to GSA at Eglin and blacklist this company from any further business with military members.

Assurance and Tony Banks LIED to me about the "3-8 day arrival window." After a month of phone calls (mostly unreturned), our stuff arrived. Did you know that Assurance will sell your move to another company that is HORRIBLY rated on Google? Unique Moving out of Columbus Ohio ultimately delivered our stuff - boxes were smashed and many items broken. Driver and Helper were nice, but it was a month of sleeping on air bed and not having dishes and furniture. Rude customer service and you'll never hear from Tony Banks or your sleazy, filthy, lying salesman again! Tony, you're a freaking liar! Worst moving experience!

This is my second time having used Assurance Van Lines for a move to another state. Their superb service reminded me of why it was that I chose them the first time. The sales rep was very knowledgeable and had expert advice on how to make this move as easy as before.

I set everything up to be picked up two weeks later. The moving workers were on time and as friendly as I remembered them last. The way these guys handled my furniture and other big items showed us how professional they were.

It seems I had to speak to customer service less this time around as all things were set up the first few times we spoke and Assurance proceeded to stick to the schedule.

This was another good move for me and all thanks to the work of the reps this company has and their level of quality.
