AnyVan

They are not a removal service. Just a man with a van booking site. They have absolutely zero customer service. I’ve posted reviews on Facebook but they keep being deleted. People deserve to know what you are actually like.
So this is how you deal with negative posts? You just delete them? That just reinforces how bad a company you are! Don’t use these people!! They state they don’t charge hidden fees but they do and when your furniture is on the van so you have no option but to pay it! I was charged £48 before my furniture would be removed from the van if I wanted it delivered to their respective rooms. Otherwise it was the garage for everything. Their “On the day team” called me and tried to tell me I was moving to a flat because it looked like one on google maps! And this is why I had to pay more for delivery up stairs. Even though I booked online as a house. But what a ridiculous argument to have. And that was after I was told 12 hours before the driver arrived I would have to flat pack all my furniture for moving. This meant I could not cancel without paying the full amount because the free cancellation was 48hrs . I was held to ransom the entire time. Then later that evening I got a call from any van. The man on the phone said I understand you had issues today. I thought to myself maybe this will get resolved. But it turned out the payment didn’t go through and they needed my permission to try and take the £48 again.

Booked a van on the 19/05/2017 to pick up on 27/05/2017. I paid more to have a specific date booked for peace of mind. Booking was confirmed and payment made.
Received a text on 24/05/2017 to say that the move was being coordinated and that they would text again with driver's details.
By Friday the 26/05/2017 had not hear any more information, although the website says they will contact you at least 24 hours before pick up. Called twice and customer service explained that they were still trying to allocate a driver and promised me they would call me back by the end of the day.
By 5pm they hadn't called me. I called again and after 5 minutes on hold was told they still hadn't allocated a driver but would keep looking over the weekend. I had no faith they would deliver and cancelled the job for a full refund. I would have expected no less than my money back, which I received 2 working days later. All-in-all a pointless, time-wasting exercise.

NOT RECOMMENDED. I booked the removal firm through Anyvan. They outsource to 'reputable' removal firms who have, according to Anyvan's customer service team, passed stringent checks/criteria. I initially booked for a Sat 27th May when booking with Anyvan. I subsequently contacted the actual removal firm, assigned my move, GH Shipping I think they are called and asked if I could push out by a day. They agreed, asked that I be a little flexible on the time of arrival for the Sunday. I agreed. I was scouting supermarkets for boxes to pack on the Sat morning at 8am. I picked up a call from GH shipping asking if they could pick up on Sat instead, in just a couple of hours because they would be travelling from Manchester and will be in my area a day earlier than I'd asked. I assessed my sitch and, tbeing helpful agreed I would rush home and get everything in place for their eta of 12pm. They arrived after 2pm. They took my goods, myself & my Dad helped load, in good condition. They were due to arrive on Bank holiday Monday morning 29th, the other end of the country. In fact they arrived after 23:00hrs on the Tuesday. Stuff was missing. My brand new TV unit is scratched, noticeably. I have raised this with both GH Shipping & Anyvan, separately. Neither have responded to my complaint. Anyvan have had my complaint for a week, today, and promised several times to come back asap. One customer service rep said she had escalated it. I've still not heard back. I'm very disappointed with this service. I won't recommend either AnyVan or GH Shipping. I have moved several times in the past & was hoping this experience would be good, so that I would be encouraged to use for future moves. I appreciate they can't get it right every time so even though the price was good (too good to be true by the looks of it) my personal experience has been very disappointing with me having to spend money to replace goods & live with others in bad condition. I have never written a bad review but this experience made my move all the more stressful and very disappointing.

If a no-star rating was available, we would select it. We asked Anyvan for a 9 a.m. pick-up on Friday May 31st of a playhouse built here at home by my husband for our 3-year old grandson in Cambridge - it was a birthday present. One of our sons had come specially from Portsmouth to help my husband re-assemble the playhouse in Cambridge. On May 30th, my husband received a text giving him a pick-up slot of 8 a.m.-12 for the following day, but despite repeated phone calls on the morning of May 31st, there was no sign of the van. It finally arrived at 2 pm after calling at the wrong house - my husband had given the correct address several times over the phone. The van was covered in graffiti and the drivers were rude. They told my husband that they planned to do two other jobs on the way to Cambridge before the playhouse could be delivered. My husband insisted that they took the playhouse straight to Cambridge or he would not have time to re-assemble it that day. Reluctantly the drivers agreed, but on arrival, my husband and son found the playhouse parts had been slung on the ground in front of the garage and one of the legs was damaged. Anyvan has offered compensation of £30 only. Do not use this company!

Great idea if everything works out fine. The customer gets the lowest price & the transport provider gets the work. However if it goes wrong, do not expect to get any help from Anyvan. The best you will get is the return of your deposit paid to Anyvan. My provider collected my goods & their fee on 30th October & then never delivered. The provider (Stephen Charlesworth of Salford) failed to respond to phone calls, test messages & emails. Anyvan's best was to tell me to report it to the Police. When I questioned them about the provider's profile & their accreditation they told me that the provider writes their own profile, which they don't check & the only proof required by Anyvan was sight of my provider's driving license. I'm now in the process of pursuing this with the Police & my own insurer. Buyer beware.

I was impressed by the professionalism of the company st all times.They were able to do exactly what I wanted at a very resaonable price.They could pick up the suit case the next day and deliver it to me the day after.They rang to discuss requirements with me and also contacted my friend at his home, the pick up point.A three hour collection time was arranged so no one had to wait around unduly.The csse was delivered to me in perfect condition before 10am the following day.I will certainly use this company again.

Cowboys does not cover it. Two days before the removal was due I was rung and told I had to pay extra for the piano despite having booked it more than a week previously. On the day the furniture movers broke my wardrobe front in two and damaged it in several other places. AnyVan have refused to take any responsibility for this because the removers said they didn't do it. My Mum saw them do it. They crammed my furniture into a van already filled with other furniture - no wonder it was damaged. Then, despite having booked for a two hour window in which everything was to be moved the piano movers didn't turn up and I had to spend yet another day the next day waiting for them to come. No compensation other than a £10 credit has been offered to me for any of this. Awful service.

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED - a very poor experience. I have booked a van for the 3rd June, specifically booked this slot 2 weeks ahead and paid for it. I have received a phone called from the driver the evening before the move 2nd June, confirming that he can not make it. I had to spend half an hour on the phone at work and then at home until I have got a reply confirming that the item will be collected on the 3rd June but after lunch between 14:00 and 16:00 and not early morning as agreed initially. We ended up waiting for the collection until 20:00 in the evening on the 3rd and it was delivered to the destination only after 23:00. Customer services are appalling nothing being put in writing confirming collection or delivery time. You have to contact the allocated driver yourself, even though you are paying for their services upfront.
