PLEASE save your hard earned money and DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS. This company is a SCAM. Read the bad reviews. They are TRUE and all the good reviews are FAKE trying to cover up the truth to steal more money from people. The salesmen are smooth and will lie to you, leave things off your inventory or mislabel to give you a low quote and give you a ton of paperwork and wait on the phone until you pay making it impossible for you to read it all. They make you pay a deposit that is NONREFUNDABLE. They make you pay with bank account and not a credit card so that you can't get your money back. The salesmen lie to you saying that if you cancel you will get your money back because "They are not in the business of keeping your money". Do not believe anything not in writing. The salesmen says he will be around through the whole experience but disappears after you pay them and doesn't respond to text anymore. They would not let me cangel and give a refund even a month in advance. They did not show up in the 2 day time frame they were supposed to and I had to get a uhaul and move myself because our house was closing the following day. All the 26 ft uhauls were sold out in my area and I had to end up leaving precious belongings because of this scam company. Selling a house and moving out of state is hard enough without being scammed out of nearly $1,000. Thanks to this company I will NEVER EVER trust a moving company again. So many had it much worse than me and have lost 10s of thousands of dollars and waited months to get back their belongings. Then what they finally got back was mostly broken and destroyed. They put in the contract that deposit is nonrefundable and nothing is guaranteed and that is how they are legally stealing from everyone. These people are criminals and need to be stopped.

Great experience - especially considering the stress that comes with a move. They did a great job. American long distance moving and storage were very courteous and professional. Took care with all of our items, especially fragile pieces and art work. Wore masks the entire time. Company gave us a not-to-exceed quote and that's what we paid, no hassle or anything. They even dropped one piece at a friend's house along the way. Would definitely recommend them.

Incident Description

This customer was scheduled to move 6/27/2021. This customer also has reviewed all packages and items on the itinerary and there were no changes since talking to the representative. The representative had informed this customer that she can increase amount of boxes to 45 boxes as this customer had decided to NOT to take the bed bunk, one computer desk, dining table and vanity. On 6/27/2021 the movers did not show up and promised to show up the next day, then it was again re-scheduled for the following day, then the following day. The movers showed up 6/30/2021 in the late afternoon and immediately demanded to sign a "new" contract. This customer informed them that the belongings were exactly as in the itinerary and estimate and informed the driver that four furnitures were also removed from the estimate. This customer stated that per contract, this customer needs to contact American Long Distance moving and storage prior to any changes to the contract. The movers got upset and left the property. This customer contacted them immediately and pleaded not to leave as this customer had to vacate the home by next day. The movers were aware of this dire need of this customer. Despite calling the movers, the movers refused to return and did not answer phone. This customer immediately contacting American Long Distance and moving and informed them that the movers just left. The broker at American Disctance and moving claimed that this customer refused services and therefore customer is not entitled to any refund of deposit. This customer explained that she did not refuse services as she had to move out the next day. This customer determined that the brokers and movers are using bait and switch method to wait until last minute to change the contract and increase the estimated price by three times despite the customer not changing any amount of the itinerary, even removing some items in the itineary. This customer requested another moving company to come but the broker stated that it may take "days" or "weeks". The brokers refused to provide any refund to the deposit despite the movers breaching contract and leaving property. The brokers claim that customer refused services, but this is not true as this customer had no options but to move next day as new tenants were moving in. The brokers and movers left this customer with all her belongings and this customer had no options but to contact another moving company. This customer is requesting the deposit of $1126.67 back as the movers breached contract by leaving property without giving a change of customer to contact American Long Distance to consult about the "new contract" the movers asked this customer to sign. This customer is complaining about the bait and switch method this company is using to lure customers to an "estimate" which is much less than what the actual movers are quoting. This is an unethical practice. I am kindly asking NCCDB to address this complaint as this company is taking advantage of individuals who are at already high stress due to the move. Please note that this same scenario has happened to numerous people and complaints were filed via BBB and trustpilot. This type of unethical practice needs to STOP. Thank you.

Contracted on 7/26/21 with a Robert K. who touted that company was "MARINE OWNED AND DONE BETTER BUSINESS THAN AMERICAN VAN LINES". Was supposed to move on 7/29/21 but was told after i called CSR that mu move had a mover date range of 7/28/21 - 7/30/21. It is 7/30/21 and no carrier has showed up. Called company and CSR informed me that carrier may not be out until 7/31/21! We were to be out of this residence today, 7/30/21. This is a horrible state of affairs. We went with this company on ther strength that it was Marine-owned (Since my wife is a Marine!). OF COURSE THEY NOW HAVE OUR DEPOSIT AND WE ARE TOTALLY AT THEY'RE MERCY. HEED THIS REVIEW AND STAY CLEAR OF AMERICAN LONG DISTANCE AND STORAGE BASED OUT OF FLORIDA.

I had a 2-day move process this week. Moving out of a 4 bedroom house with 28 steps of stairs to the front door is no small task (and there's a piano as well). I am glad to say that all went well. Greg's team of 4-men crew were friendly and extremely hard working. The men work along each other well so there's efficiency there. If you are looking for a reliable, professional, hardworking and courteous crew to get the job done, I'd highly recommend American long distance moving and storage.

DO NOT USE this company!!! They are a total scam and nightmare. They take your money and then lie to you about where your stuff is going, who actually moves it, and when you get it. American Long Distance Moving and Storage's Robert "Bob" Knight (954) 343-4779 is

a fast-talking, untruthful broker who will brag about this company being an "upstanding US Veteran-owned company"and will then proceed to take your money and leave you high and dry on your own. This broker takes your money upfront and then farms your move out to an even worse company located in Passiac, NJ (Moving Express & Storage, Inc.) Robert Knight told me our belongings would be delivered between July 10-11, 2021; we just received on August 1, 2021 and only recieved 75% of our stuff with no hope of ever seeing the remaining 25%. Delivered items were damaged and boxes looked like they had been soccer-kicked around the world and back. Movers called 7:30PM on 7/31/21 and said they'd deliver next day between 8-10 AM; but we would need to pay them and additional $250 because their 18 wheeler could not get down the street and they had to rent a smaller truck and we'd have to pay for it! Unbelieveable since I gave Robert Knight the address of our apartment when we originally signed the contract! Never heard back from Robert Knight when I tried to reach out to him for help. Subcontracted mover (Moving Express & Storage) hung up on me and also never called me back after several calls and text messages. All went unanswered. If you use this company, you will only have heart ache and will throw your hard earned money and belongings away. DO NOT USE THEM - BEWARE!!!!!!!

They said they had an empty truck on my moving route that they needed to fill anyway (they aren't the actual moving company, so continued to call me and lower the estimate. I gave them a detailed inventory and was told I didn't need to count items such as mirrors, trash cans, etc. Moving company came (after 3 different dates were given) and they wanted to charge $4k above what I was told. Movers walked through saying "I bet they didn't tell you..." cause they already knew! The manager of the moving company called saying it wouldn't even cover 1/3rd of my stuff and wouldn't make sense to do a partial move. He already knew they were not going to give me my deposit back because he had dealt with them before and was baffled, saying he hated having to make these calls. While on the phone with their "customer service" the movers left without notifying any of us. No refund on deposit and zero response to 5 emails. They take ZERO accountability.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they are not a moving company, they are a brokerage firm. We have hired a lawyer to try and recoup our deposit. They will quote you for your move sight unseen RED FLAG. You will have to pay 50% via ACH (no a cc) RED FLAG. The quote will not be correct and the movers will show up and you will either have to pay a LOT more money (double in our case) or forfeit your deposit. I rarely write a bad review for anything, but this company is 100% a SCAM and they know it! There are literally hundreds of good, honest moving companies - do your due diligence and use them. I would hate to see anyone else defrauded by this company.
