American Eagle Moving Company

I was extremely nervous about using American Eagle Moving for my move once after reading numerous reviews online and finding that they ranged from glowing, positive 5-star reviews to 1-star horror stories. My overall experience with American Eagle is that you get what you pay for.

I chose American Eagle after speaking with a sales consultant who put me at ease regarding my interstate move from Tennessee to Pennsylvania on a grad student's budget. The sales people are quick to get you to sign an agreement with a 35% non-refundable deposit. Unfortunately, they are working for a company that clearly overall is all about their bottom line. I found the salespeople to be helpful until my deposit was paid, at which time it was difficult to reach them without being placed on hold for long periods of time.

They base moves off of cubic square feet, but I would guess that they knowingly underestimate the amount of space you will need in order to get you to sign their low estimate. This results in later increases in estimated size and price. Any knowledgeable mover would have known that my belongings could not fit into the space they originally quoted me. When my movers arrived, the estimated cubic feet I would need increased by more than 100 cubic feet-- this added more than $500 to my initial quote.

American Eagle is definitely a "nickel and dime" type company. Every foot from the elevator to my apartment door was measured in order to charge the "Long Haul" moving fee that applies for each additional 50 feet the movers must walk. I've used other moving companies before who have had the "Long Haul" fee in their contracts, but who have used common sense when determining whether to apply it-- 50 feet is an extremely short distance in reality, and most all residences would surely incur this fee as a result. They also tried to charge me for boxes and blankets needed to wrap and move the furniture itself, things that should either be included in the cost or made clear upfront.

The sales consultant also advised me of an insurance company I could use to fully value and protect my belongings during the move. As I had several glass and mirrored objects, I wanted to be sure to protect those in the unfortunate event of damage. When I actually reached out to the insurance provider, however, they were completely unaware of American Eagle, and it turned out that American Eagle did not actually have an account with them. American Eagle had no response to this, and claimed to not know about any sort of account number. The truth was that I had been lied to and this was extremely discouraging.

I would give the company 2 stars for their attitude and clear goal of getting every possible cent from customers. They seem to have a pattern of misquoting size estimates and charging customers more when they actually pick up their belongings. They "nickel and dime" their customers to drastically change the price from the original quote to the actual service. Others seem to have had issues with delivery, but fortunately I can say this was not the case for me. This may have been due to the time of year (December) and employees taking leave for the holidays.

However, I would give my movers themselves 4 stars. The move crew that arrived to pick me up was the same that later dropped off my furniture-- a mere 3 days later. They were timely, professional, and extremely hard-working. None of my belongings were damaged, and they did an excellent job taking apart my furniture and wrapping fragile objects to ensure that there was no damage to my goods. They were excellent, and I am sure they work long and strenuous hours.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2100

The guy who gave me a quote could not have been more pleasant to deal with; however, apparently these guys have a very well established pattern of quoting one thing based on even the most accurate inventory list, and then pulling a song and dance about how you have more cubic feet and they will charge you at least 50% more than the quote. They also have the nerve of saying that’s a “deal.” I was spoken to like a child, laughed at for defending myself, and saw Wade (the WORST human I’ve been around; his presence literally got me sick and I broke out in red patches) disrespect his employees.
Do NOT trust these people. Learn from my mistake!!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $3000

We were moving from Hampton to Louisville, Ky and promised a move date after we made air lines reservations depending on their promise to move. One day before the scheduled move they call us to tell us they could not move the furnishing until the following Monday which required us to incur more airline charges to change flight home. did not hear from American eagle again until mid day on that Monday about trying to move our furnishing. I find this company to be insensitive to our situation and the increased cost of the move.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2101

I've moved up and down the east coast for the last 5 years and always ended up doing it myself because of how unreliable movers were and how most of them ended up being brokers or full of s**. Most recently I moved out west to San Francisco and I ended up finally booking with a moving company. I got dicked around by a few other companies until I spoke with some dude named Luke Daniels at American Eagle and for some weird reason I felt super comfortable. He quoted me a realistic price and went through the whole long annoying process with me. Even during the holidays it was a somewhat easy process. Of course small things can go wrong here and there, but overall I felt great about the whole thing. Your agent is your first point of contact with a company and can leave a good or bad taste in your mouth ultimately. Mine was great and I recommend asking for Luke personally if you're feeling discouraged. Thanks again!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8900

PAY ATTENTION; All of their reviews are either 5’s or 1’s. There is no in between, which is completely unrealistic for any company. Many of the 5 star reviews have tons of typos and are likely written by the same group of people.

Anyway, I can’t begin to tell you horror of what happened to me as a result of working with this company. I’ll make this short and to the point.

1. They delivered my belongings a week after my scheduled delivery date, which I’ll explain later. I later learned that they moved my furniture 3 times without my permission. They moved my items from Atlanta, GA to IL and then back to Savannah, GA where everything sat in storage mixed with other people’s belongings, until they loaded me up again and moved it to Maryland. Needless to say, items were broken in the process and loss in the process.

2. The day I requested for delivery, they never called or showed. I call them the following Monday, they tell me they have up to two weeks to deliver as stated on the contract. However, the contract states if there is inclement weather or an accident, it would take this long, which there was neither of the two.

After days of calling them (Sasha) and having my attorney to call, I finally get my items nearly a week later. My dresser, dining room chair, desk, and several boxes were mixing. Oh,and they left me with belongings that were not mine. I had to literally tell them several times that the items they were trying to leave at my house, didn’t belong to me.

This company moves under two names. They ARE NOT a mover company, but moving brokers. Meaning, they find people to move your items.

You’ve been warned. Move with them AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4700

I would give a single star, but the representative Julie, customer service manager, Sasha have remained professional if ineffectual in keeping promises. Plus the actual moving crew that picked up our items were efficient and polite (if very late in arriving). My family and I moved due to a wonderful work opp. I started the quoting and research process early Nov. Confirmed the date of the move 3 weeks prior to move date. First when it comes to estimated costs.. DO NOT accept their quote. It is WAY off! We had a 4 bedroom house, with appliances and a shed of tools to move. Originally quoted $8,350. A competitor came through and did a walk through and gave an estimate of $10,500. I gave an updated weight and space estimate to American Eagle and my rate went up to $9,400. I accepted the offer. Pickup window was a 48hr window Dec 7th & 8th. I get a call on Dec 5th from the dispatchers. The team would be in the area on the 6th, can they make the pick up then. I declined due to having 2 young kids and a wife dependent on medicine at home while I was out of town training. He then stated that they would arrive Thurs as planned. Weds evening I get a call. there's a problem with the truck, so it will be first thing Fri before the movers would arrived. Explained we had a 9hr drive ahead of us that evening, so the sooner they would arrive the better. New estimate? 10a. At 10:30 on Fri I called the dispatcher, the team is stuck on another job and running behind? Thought I was to be first that day. they'll be there by noon. Then at noon, they are on the road, be there in an hour or so. After 2 more missed deadlines, they showed up after 3:30p. Then walked the house and made a call. I get handed the phone.
"Mr Storm, the estimate is wrong. With your house you will need X more cubed feet of space.. to take everything? $16,000?!?! We were on a deadline and I had to be at work Mon morning 1700 miles away! We ended up leaving behind all of our appliances, most of my power tools and many other items, all told probably would equal almost $5,000! The team finished packing and load at 9p! My daughter and I did not arrive at our first hotel until 5a! When the team was leaving I was told to expect delivery by the 18th. Perfect as our cars were packed with 2 weeks worth of clothing, and meds.. 2 kids, and 2 large dogs. We had to pack all of our Christmas presents and told no problem getting things to the new house WELL BEFORE Christmas.
Turns out after several calls and conversations my items were put into a warehouse for almost 2 weeks before loading it on to a truck. By this time I have been promised delivery on the 18th, the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Told there were issues with vehicle break downs, a lack of drivers available, and finally an injury. Now, with little more than an apology (we have spent over $600 purchasing items we already own, just to survive on more than soups and frozen oven dinners.. and then we had to do last minute Santa shopping to the sum of $300 so the dream stays alive for our 6 and 10 year old kids!) they are not even making an attempt to get the goods to us the week of 12-25 to 1-1! Asked what should they do? Pull people off their holiday vacations? I told them the contract clrealy states Mid-west deliveries will be delivered in 14 business days, excluding holidays; which makes the last delivery date per contract 12-29.. So now, not only has promise after promise been broken, now they are breaking their written contract. The dispatcher's response? "DOT allows us 14-21 business days to deliver goods to you. I am just informing you it will be AT LEAST next week before your goods will arrive."
I have submitted a complaint with the BBB and DOT now. After Fri, we have a lawyer in the family who will be contacting the company on our behalf to request compensation for the nightmare this company is putting us through and a hard deadline for our items.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $10500

From the first phone call to set up this move from myrtle beach all the way to fort Lauderdale I was so stressed out, I had been receiving so many phone calls and was so confused..tge agent explained everything to me so well and just made me feel so comfortable. And on the pick up day everything just went so smoothly, all the movers were very perfessional. I needed help packing and realizes that there would be a little more cost, but was so greatdil because I had run out of time packing. American eagle dis such an amazing job I would recommend this company to anybody.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5700

I had problems with this company since I signed the contract under pressure and before I had a chance to read everything with care. The customer service was very below the expectations. Many times, I did wait to long to be answered and the call just dropped. The staff was not interested in resolve my problem. The initial estimate was below what was charged causing last minute surprises. The furniture was delivered with multiple scratches and damages. The guys who delivered were from another company and had no intention to do a decent job. I do not recommend American Eagle Moving.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

I have had nothing but problems with this company. They picked-up my goods on Oct 19. It is now Nov 14 and they are still sitting in a warehouse. Don't believe the contract when it says they will deliver 21 business days (at the latest). That is 2 days from now and it has not even been put on a truck. I have called several times per week and each time am told that it will be going out in 2 or 3 days. I am constantly told I will receive a call back and do not receive them. Then, last week on Thursday, I was told that it went out on Tuesday (two days prior: 11/7). When I called today, Tues 11/14 I was told that it actually did not go out and was still sitting in the same warehouse. I've attached my notes from my conversations below so you can see the wildly frustrating time I have had.. American Eagle is who I contracted with, East Coast Moving is who they outsourced it to. Escalations to management have gotten me nowhere. As it stands, my "10-day" move is going on 28 days with a minimum of 8-11 days remaining - assuming I wasn't lied to AGAIN today about my stuff going out tomorrow.

10/19 – Was picked-up. Driver told us it would go out the next day if I called tomorrow.
10/20 – Called Lainey at American Eagle and made the second payment and released the delivery.
10/23 11:50am – Called American Eagle for a status, they could not give me one. Sat on hold for 15 minutes and then they hung up. Called back and talked to someone who said they’d have to research and get back to me.
10/23 12:28 – East Coast Moving called to confirm that I am “ready for my shipment” – I said yes… there was no reason to wait.
10/24 11:48am – East Coast Moving called and asked about the second payment; told her the second payment was made with Lainey on Friday. She said she would check on it and call me back if there is a problem.
10/27 8:40am – Called and spoke to Sarah and East Coast Moving… their systems are down, she said she would call me back today. (May have called back on the 971 number but I cannot get into vm) No call back received.
10/30 7:51am – Left a VM (East Coast Moving) as no one answered.
10/30 7:54am – Talked to Sasha (American Eagle)… she will contact East Coast Moving. (Sasha’s direct number: 844-239-8463 x618)
10/30 – received an email back from Sasha that it is still in storage and has not been assigned to a driver, yet. Then, a later email that it will go out in the next 2-3 days.
11/3 12:06 – called American Eagle Moving… no one available. Called East Coast (Chuck Torrez)… 1879.17 is the balance to pay when they arrive. They will call on Monday to let me know what the plan is. Driver is assigned.
11/6 8:31am – East Coast Moving, no one available. American Eagle, no on available. Tried East Coast Moving… (Chuck Torrez answered this time – runs customer service for both groups). He says they are telling him that it will arrive by the 16th or 17th. Asked for him to have a manager call. Chuck said he or a manager would call me back today.
11/6 pm – Chuck called back to say that it would leave on Wed and arrive by the 15th or 16th.
11/9 10am – East Coast moving customer serv -> no one available… East Coast moving dispatch -> no one available… American Eagle Moving Dispatch -> Aaron… he tried for 20 minutes to get someone who could give me an answer but it looks like the dispatcher is out to lunch. He said he’d have them contact me directly.
11/9 1pm – East Coast customer service -> Spoke to Chuck … swears he saw it loading on the truck. It left on Tuesday at 1:03pm. Estimated in five days… 3 drivers… coming to me and then on to Hillsboro. He’ll call me back today or in the morning to give me the estimated delivery.
11/14 9:25am – East Coast customer serv: no one available. American Eagle dispatch: talked to ??.. he said he was going to call dispatch then call dropped (after waiting on hold for 10 min. Waited 7 min, no call back… called again. Talked to Sasha (9:45am)… she said she would find out and call me back.
114/14 1:23pm left a vm for Sasha. Then called American Eagle customer service – spoke to Harry who claimed to be a manager. He said “7-10 days for delivery”. Said it was leaving today and would be 7-10 days. Asked to speak to the general manager… Derek. Derek confirmed the above information but flat out refused to provide any financial break or guarantee that it would go out. He also refused to let me come take possession there and ship it out. He said the driver would call me after he is on his way. He was very offended that I suggested that they are in breach. He said Dept of Transportation says they have 30 days (which would be Saturday) to get the stuff to me. I told him it would be delivered beyond those 30 days and he said there was nothing he could do. He refused to let me speak to anyone above him, give me a discount, or have someone give me updates on the status and was jI have had nothing but problems with this company. American Eagle Moving and Storage did a great job on my move I've moved several times in the past before never Adam State always in state and that was a nightmare alone so going really far at a state I was kind of stressed out it did a great inventory at actually over been my job which I was happy with at the end of the move I didn't put me in a jam or I had a shovel at all this additional money the movers were very professional and they came out in the clean truck these guys definitely did a five-star move for me thanks a lot American Eagle Moving and Storage I appreciate you guys and special shout-out to Jason thanks a lot for the help Bud.

Let me start by saying I hate moving I put it off until the last minute which was very dumb of me I got really lucky that American eagle who is in storage was able to pick me up due to previous cancellation I even received the rate that was a lot better on the price per cubic foot. If you're shopping for a moving company please make sure that they quote you off moving feet do not get confused by the binding quotes I almost got sneaked into going with the scam company I'm really lucky that Jason at American Eagle was able to break down the quotes and the differences in the services with bloopers first movers this guy showed up in the truck on pick up and delivery which I hear is very surprising now days.

I really appreciate everyone in American Eagle moving and storage for making my move very smooth for me I had booked the company two months in a Vance prior to the move and received other quotes I was considering American Eagle they were a little bit more expensive but now I see why the first company I hired showed up in a rental truck and they were definitely brokers I want to losing my deposit to the first company because I wanted them to leave I called American eagle last minute and they were able to pick me up two days after my first move. I have had one of the worst experiences of my life with American Eagle Moving. To the point that I would not wish this type of experience upon my worst enemy. At this point, I am hoping I can get all of my belongings in one piece but I'm not holding my breath.

I scheduled a move from WA to IL and needed to move fairly quickly. I spoke with a salesperson named Chris who was super helpful prior to the move. Of course, they're helpful when you're giving them a 35% deposit plus more. I was supposed to get my belongings on November 15, and hadn't heard anything until I called on November 14. I come to find out that the items wouldn't be there for at least a couple days. I'm fairly flexible and was willing to wait a "couple" days.

I called on November 15 to speak with the dispatch manager, Derek, who said my stuff was in a warehouse in CA. Oh? That was never once mentioned prior to the move. They stated it should be here in 2-3 weeks (not that I needed it or anything). Communication, customer service, and reliability are non-existent with this company.

Other things to note:
- Reviews on this page on fake. Look at some of the reviews and you'll see why.
- Photos are fake are tied to another moving company with the same name out of Birmingham, AL.
- The company has gone by many other names that are now defunct, which was confirmed with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
- If you are currently having any issues, please reach out to Move Rescue or the FMCSA and they can assist you.

Thank u for doing a great job American eagle moving and storage for picking me up right on time,,, a lot of other companies didn't want to service my move because I was going to needed someone to pick me up from my condo during a certain time for the elevator slot,,, these guys came in very nice and professional I wind up not bringing all my furniture and the price was prorated down because of less items,,,, u guys rock thanks so much American eagle moving and stirage,, if you want some professional guys here they are; oh and by the way they crated and moved my baby grand down the elevator and delivered to my new home without. Scratch thanks.

American eagle moving towards a really great job with her last-minute move I move several times before and all the companies I’ve used previously on pick up and delivery for two different carriers a retro found a company that was registered with the DOT has actually over and wasn’t sure I’ve movie go out the list several years since I join the military. Thanks a lot for the great job it was really nice that you guys remove all the granite tops from all my tables. They put all my furniture back together after they are wrapped around delivery thanks a lot American eagle moving and storage.

American eagle moving and storage that such a great job on my move thank you guys so much for being honest reliable move her I was very worried about booking a move right help his experience with brokers this guy said they were movers and on their own trucks and I’m David move they pulled up an American eagle moving truck. It was really a showing to see that they used actual movers and not the levers they packed up all my furniture and got me out to my destination and put all the furniture back together I want to pool tables and a bunch of glass items that they specially created for me at no additional cost I really appreciate the service that American eagle moving and storage provided thank you.

I want to thank Jason so much at American Eagle moving and storage he really help my family out we were really in a dilemma we had a last-minute move for work we didn’t know what to do or who to book with after going online and doing some research we saw American eagle moving and storage was a moving company not a broker and had a really good reputation. American eagle moving and storage was not the cheapest price received but definitely when the guys came out and did a great job picking up and delivering our furniture we saw that the reputation was well worth the money thanks a lot American eagle moving and storage.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6845

Relocating to Arizona, We had a few things left and my wife was looking to just have the remaining things moved out to AZ so we would not have to rent a truck. My wife wanted the items picked up in 2 days. The sales person kept telling my wife that she needed to decide before 5PM that day because they have a truck and they need to know because they want to fill that load spot. My wife agree and they said it would be $2600.00 and she paid them because they are a full service moving company. The next day, she did more research and found out that they will charge for moving items from upstairs and wanted to charge $40 more to repack T.V.'s or they will not take them. In their contract is says you have 3 days to delay the move. They didn't even have a time to pick up the items scheduled. We decided to donate the items and cancel the moving company. They kept $1000.00, because they said they are entitled to it because of their contract, this is all in less than 24 hours. They did nothing, did not send a truck, did not have a pick up time or date even scheduled. I will never use this terrible company. They shouldn't call themselves a moving company..they are more like thieves!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $2600

Well after the moving company I hired and left a deposit with never showed I was left scrambling. I needed to be out of my house in 2 days and American Eagle was able to get me out in time. If it wasn't for these guys I'd be paying for a house I'm not living in. As far as the price it was actually cheaper then the previous company who I will not name to spare them.I will say these guys here were fast and very professional. If I had to door all again I wouldn't even take a call If call American Eagle direct. I can't stress it enough how they saved the day. Everything thing works out when you deal with the right company and they are absolutely that.

American Eagle Moving and Storage Did such a good job on my move. this was my first time using a moving company long as this I honestly hate moving it so stressful packing all the boxes and being able to choose a good company . I moved once before In my life but It was local and this was My first cross country move. My wife really took the lead on finding a company and after maybe 1 Month of getting different quotes we decided on American Eagle Moving .

Reasons why we decided on American Eagle Is mostly the reviews were good and most If not all of there complaints were resolved. Another reason for our decision was the sales rep Megan , She was absolutely amazing with how nice and informative she was about moving. Megan and my wife hit it off and after maybe the 3rd conversation with her we both knew we Had found the moving company to move us.

24 Hours before pick up a Dispatcher called me and provided me and Eta Of 9-11 for the next day. The pick up went extremely well the foreman Rodrigo and his crew were very professional , they did and amazing job of packing and handling all of our goods . Once the movers finished the revised the estimate due to the fact I didn’t use 200cf that was included in the original estimate. I ended up paying less since I didn’t use the space which was great .

Our first available delivery date after our pick Up was 2/15/18 . We received a call from dispatch on 2/10/18 informing us we are loaded and Enroute To AZ . They were a bit delayed with some previous deliveries but always kept me informed and when the crew arrived they were great.

I would highly recommend using American Eagle Moving for your move, they are family owned and operated and it shows by how much attention and care they treat all there customers with .

Great job! I looked on the internet for moving review sites and was bombarded with multiple Pages of them after reading a few blogs I was referred to my moving reviews. American Eagle moving had a couple recent ones up which led me to believe that they do many moves probably more than most companies. The representative I spoke to walked me through the entire process and we double-checked our list to make sure we had everything. The movers called when they were close picked up my furniture wrapped it extremely well and did the same on the other end and unpacked room-by-room where it belongs. The price was in line with most other Movers but the experience was above and beyond. I would recommend these movers to anybody looking for true professionals and not a few guys in a truck.

American Eagle Moving and Storage did a really good job on my move this was my first cross-country move and I was very nervous about picking and Company I knew not to go with the lowest price because those guys are usually brokerz.. American Eagle Moving and Storage showed me this site that's a Department of Transportation website and it showed that they had multiple trucks register to their company a lot of the other companies giving me quotes didn't have any trucks and just have Broker licenses so right there I saw the dishonesty and this industry American Eagle Moving and Storage really broke down the quote and how it will go we even quoted it with additional items and on the day of the move I wind up not bring you all the items due to selling some of them so my price actually went down when the cubic foot was less thanks a lot of American Eagle Moving and Storage you guys were great..

Thank you so much American eagle moving and storage for the job you did I have you several moving companies in the past and I have to say this was the first company or what they promised and guaranteed is what actually happened on the day of the move. I contracted with them about a month in advance to receive a discounted rate which is colder piggyback promotion. The day of the move the moving company showed up I did a great job they wrapped up all the furniture and I even had them crate on my televisions and large glass dining room table of the day delivery they did a great job on the truck.
