Long-distance move from New York to Michigan

Worst company ever!

First of all nobody called to confirm anything. I was told they would call 24-48 hours before my two day window. This never happened I had to call 7 times before someone finally told me at 7pm the night before that they would be here in the afternoon the next day. I asked what that means and they stated between 2-6pm. Ok. Then movers call me at 1:08 the day of move to say they will be here at 6pm. I have spent the last hour and a half trying to figure out where they are because it’s now 7:30 and they aren’t here. I finally get a guy that tells me he will be another 2hrs. That brings us to 9:30 at night. I don’t know about you, but that makes me very uncomfortable to have men in my house that late AND I now have to drive half way across the country straight through to be able to get to new house in order to work. Absolutely unacceptable and the most unprofessional company I have seen. I will update with when they actually do arrive and how the delivery goes, which i can’t even imagine as awful as this is currently going.

Don't Hire Alliance Moving & Storage

I'll save you the time in reading every detail of our horrific experience and extortion experience by summarizing it in a few sentences.

If you want your quoted price to double on-site while your possessions are already loaded on the truck, your furniture broken and delivered damaged and the senior leaders of the company to scream over the phone and belittle you, then you have found the right company.

Save your time, your money and your energy. Hire someone else.

Long-distance move from Linden, PA to Osgood, IN

They are a moving broker and not a moving company

Quoted out a move in March. They underestimated the move so drastically it resulted in having to rent a ubaul to finish the move. The box count did go up over the orginal count. However it was not so drastic that is should have resulted in having to self move every single piece of furniture sans the mattresses.

So not only did I pay 6900 to move 161 boxes and 5 mattresses but now I have to move the rest of my house hold good myself. And no they will not give you a refund. However the guys they did contract to pick up were awesome.

Long-distance move from Salem, CT to Portland, OR

Great company

Professional staff. Spoke to Roger on the phone; she quoted me a great price in comparison to the prices I had already received so I scheduled the move with them. On moving day I was a big ball of stress, but Alex and his team were so efficient and kind that I knew the physical move was something I didn't need to worry about from that point forward.

Long-distance move from Brookhaven, NY to Hershey, PA

Long distance moving

All paperwork and emails say you would be contacted 2-3 days prior to pick up. Provided estimate dates with contract. Never rec’d a call, called the day before the 1st of 2 days that was the window at 3pm finally got to speak to someone at 5pm saying pick up was tomorrow 9am, and that it was 24 hours because it was Pacific time that they work on, we are EST. Everyone was rude that we spoke too, no managers or supervisors to speak too. Supply sketchy companies that show up in unmarked trucks and clearly have no professional moving experience, scratched and broke most of our larger pieces. Would not recommend, not helpful or professional.

Long Distance Move

Contracted with David on 5/17/21 for 6/24-6/26. 6/25 receive new contract with 6/26 pu and eta for 2 hr window AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS TO THEM. (Never received ETA within 48 hour window of original scheduled dates.) They never called us. Called an hour after no show and said I'd get a call back. Called back two hours later and after hours answering service picked up. They do not have 24 hour customer service as advertised. The office was closed until Monday 6/28. Stayed up until Midnight on 6/26 and no show. No phone calls, no email, zero communication. 6/27 made other arrangements to move my Mother's things from California to Georgia. Found out on 6/28 Broker cancelled contract with carrier after speaking with carrier. Trying to get my elderly mother's deposit refunded. 7/8 have sent three emails (David blocked my email address) with no response. Filed complaint with BBB and FMCSA.

Long-distance move from New Castle, CO to Cape Coral, FL

Criminals

Where do I start? Scheduled move from Colorado to Florida. Was quoted one price, told it could not and would not go up. When movers arrived I was told price was going up or they would leave. I had initially been told if I removed items the price would go down. So I removed an entire bedroom set a gun safe and more. Movers showed up 8 hours late at 10pm, did not leave until 2am. They forgot to get my Tool Chest with tools and took items that they were not supposed to. (I had an inventory list for them). This was May 28th it's now July 9th. They told me my belongings would be here within 10 days, my stuff never showed up, I call them several times a week and they will not tell me where my stuff is or give me a bill of landing. They legally have 30 days to get your stuff to you, it's been well over a month now. Customer service is extremely rude and will not return calls, hang up on you etc. This process has been an expensive nightmare. I have never dealt with such a horrific company in my life and I'm 40 years old. These guys are brokers, I tried calling the actual moving company (on the go movers) and their number is disconnected. I'm at a loss here and going to call an attorney and law enforcement next. Do not use this company, they will make your life miserable.

Local move within East Falmouth, MA

My experience withthe company

This is the most expensive and unreliable moving company based on my experience.

They are actually brokers and hire movers to do the job.

The movers they hire extort extra money and do the worse job imaginable letting you down with dates, breaking a lot of dishes and glasses, etc.

My strong advice is stay away from that terrible "moving" company.

Long-distance move from Fincastle, VA to Boca Raton, FL

Poor communication and customer service

This company was AWESOME until they received my down payment…then they became unresponsive, uncommunicative, and rude when they did briefly respond. To date, I still don’t have resolution.

They lost a significant amount of my stuff in the move (BIG items like a power washer, turkey fryer, and numerous Gourmet KitchenAid appliances- not to mention the damage to my 172 bottle wine cooler that now no longer works), they changed fees charged that were quoted for storage, they charged fees for changes made when this was promised not to happen, they also failed to live up to their own contract when a refund was due for a secondary move request that never performed sue to cancellation. They don’t respond to emails, they have put me on hold-for over an hour on multiple occasions and then promised return calls which never materialized. I have asked for contact information for a manger or owner and this has never been provided…RUN from this unethical con artist shell of a company. For example:

Within 48 hours of getting an estimate on a secondarily move, I reached out to my representative to let him know that that I wanted to cancel that move\explore options of how to get my stuff delivered to complete the original move. I called first and left a message, and then sent an email to document the contact. I reached out several times over the next week after that initial contact (phone and email) and to date, aside from an email saying that had been out, and that he would call me, I still have NOT received a call back or any assistance from him. What’s really amazing is the number of different gmail email accounts they use to keep you running in circles and to offer no response. Even a supposed “manger” told me to document everything In email as verbal interactions meant nothing. (Which is probably why they don’t respond to emails…).

It took multiple calls to others at the company and follow ups to cancel that move and when I finally did , I was told that I hadn’t cancelled within the required timeframe to have any of the over 3k returned. I have provided provided proof of that contact and now they refuse to respond to me aside from one line rude responses. I could go on and on with examples and documentation of the horrible customer service, but hopefully you get the idea - AVOID this company at all costs and tell all of your friends to do so as well.

Long-distance move from Harrisburg, PA to Tucson, AZ

Liars and Con Artists

Anyone who books this company is booking at their own risk. I booked a move for about 40 boxes and four pieces of furniture. When the movers showed up, they loaded up about 5 boxes then claimed it would be another $2500 because we had more than was quoted. The movers themselves worked with plenty of smoke breaks.

Then the nightmare truly got started. We were promised that our items were on a truck to a town about 50 miles from us. Instead, our items, without telling us, were stored in a warehouse in Maryland. For over a month. When we called for updates, we were lied to by Alliance. Cassy/Cassidy, the person that answered the phone, was extremely condescending in telling us that this is totally acceptable and that even though we had been promised by multiple other people verbally and in writing, that our items would arrive within 14 days, that we would get our items within 30 days. Turns out that that was a lie as we didn't get our stuff until 45 days.

We asked, multiple times, for updates and the location of our items. Cassidy told us that we had to reach out to the moving company directly and that they only contracted to contract with others and that they did not have to do anything else to help us (so much for that door to door help, eh?). When we called the moving company, that never actually identified themselves, we were told that Texas was clearly not on the route from the east coast to the west coast and that we should "learn to read a map".

Cassidy promised to send us claims information in writing and did not do that. No one would provide us, in writing, with a final amount due. The reason for this was blatantly clear when we were told, the night before our items were to arrive, that it would be an additional $1000, coincidentally the amount of the first money order that the company that didn't think Texas was along the route, had already cashed.

We were told that we would have to pay courier service as there was nowhere to park a semi truck even though there was plenty of space. When we refused, the moving company finally relented and agreed to drive our items to us. They arrived in a penske truck and according to the drivers, that penske truck is the truck that they drove from Maryland so there was NO SEMI TRUCK INVOLVED. At one point, the driver even said to me that it was a good thing that penske trucks are not required to go to weigh stations as they were overloaded by thousands of pounds.

When the drivers started unloading my items, many boxes were broken, some had burst, some were cut open, and the drivers dropped boxes constantly. Whomever had loaded the truck pulled down my rolltop desk and then stacked boxes on top of the fragile roll top. The desk is ruined.

I also received four boxes that were not mine so who knows who else possibly received my items.

It also turns out that the company that took the items from my house and stored them in Maryland subcontracted to another moving company. After researching, neither of these companies are actually licensed to perform interstate moves.

And of course, now that I have broken china and furniture, no one picks up the phone and no one responds to queries on how to file a claim for the broken contract and items.

Seriously. Don't do it. Not unless you love the hassle of your items sitting in a warehouse for over a month, condescending attitude that you pay thousands of dollars for, unlicensed and unbonded workers that have plenty of opportunity for theft, lies, and demands for extra money.
