Long-distance move from Vernon, CO to Lawrenceburg, KY

Bravo Allegiance!

I was worried at first hiring someone to hire someone. But it made my life less stressful. I spoke to Jeff initially to set up my move he gave us the best quote around even price matched with a top ranked company in the nation. The movers they ended up selecting were Barahonas Moving. The team that came to move us was the best group of movers we have ever worked with. We were so appreciative that they kept us updated along the way to our delivery. NO damages at all! You rock guys!

Long-distance move from Hamilton, IL to Mount Laurel, NJ

All in all easy breezy

I called Allegiance Moving and Storage to help me set up my first move away from home. I was just graduating college and had a great job offer across the country. They made sure to give me all of the information I needed to avoid any last minute problems. They did a great job at selecting top notch movers for the job. The movers were quick to arrive. They even helped me move some stuff out to the garbage so I didn't have to move it myself. I didn't think moving to another state 2000mi away would be this easy. I made a call gave them my inventory over video chat they set up the service super quick. They were very upfront about any additional fees that would be applied.

Long-distance move from Waterford, NY to Georgetown, TX

Do not use this company!

When we used Bekins to move from AZ to NY, they sent a professional to our home who knew how to make an accurate estimate. The movers showed up in an 18-wheeler, and they inventoried every item loaded on the truck. They showed up in NY and spent the entire day at our home unloading and helping to set up all the furniture. The cost of the move didn't change. 7k for professional movers to haul from one side of the country to the other.

Why I didn't go back to them, I can't explain, but I truly regret it. For some reason, I started over and found Allegiance Moving and Storage. After all, all I had to do was go online and google top rated movers. They showed up every time.

The main problem is that they don't send anyone to your home. The reliability factor is the person who isn't a mover, lives in all the "stuff," (aka, the owner) and then has to translate it to someone who can't see what you're talking about. He then types it all into a computer to do calculations. My initial cost over the phone, after I translated our belongings, was 5k. After a lot of packing, our second consultation went up to 9k. (This was one week ahead of the move, so I couldn't cancel.) After the movers showed up 26 hours late, it went up to 11k.

I have crushed boxes that have the word, 'fragile' clearly written on them. I had to throw two broken items that originally belonged to my grandmother. They were also in a box marked fragile. (Isn't the word, "fragile" an indication you don't want things stacked on it?) My grandmother's antique chair that is decades old, is MIA, as is our two wheeler. The chair was one of three items the movers tried to leave in my garage in NY. We had to call them back to pick them up. The other two items are here. The chair that goes with my Grandmother's bedroom set didn't. It probably looks like junk to these folks because it's broken. I had planned to get it restored while we were here. I have an email to the company letting them know I want it here, but as is the pattern of treatment we have been experiencing, there is still no answer.

The worst part of the entire experience wasn't the late movers. It was the lack of communication from the company. The ONLY time we heard from them was when a dollar bill was involved. Michael, the representative providing quotes and taking my money, disappeared into thin air after taking my second payment. This also happened to the second quote he provided to me. Customer Service had no interest in letting us know why we had no movers at the allotted time. They had no interest in keeping us in the loop when they had information they could have shared. They told us 6 AM and then didn't bother to call when they knew better. I guarantee we have 20-30 unanswered messages from the day of the proposed move. We learned the hard way that the 24/7 notice on the website means they have an answering service taking messages that don't get returned.

We had to do a final walkthrough with our buyers around all of our boxes. The closing for the sale of the house was at 1:00. The movers showed up hours afterward, keeping us in a house we didn’t own until 10:00 that night. We had to pay a hotel fee of 300.00 for the out of state folks who thought they were moving into their new home that day. We also had hotel fees for ourselves. We have 5k in escrow money that was held back because of our movers that still hasn't been returned.

May 26th was a very long and scary day. I honestly thought we’d been scammed out of a lot of money and spent a good deal of time trying to create a backup plan to move our home from NY to TX by ourselves.

I am grateful the majority of our things made it and are whole. I'm also grateful it was so fast. The movers on both ends of the country were very hard and efficient workers. The movers in NY killed it with the furniture and the way they wrapped it all up to keep it from being damaged, although, I fear they didn’t mark those three items before putting them in the truck, which is why my Grandmother’s antique, irreplaceable chair is missing.

DO NOT USE ALLEGIANCE MOVING AND STORAGE. They are brokers, not movers. They contract the movers, who then move your stuff from truck to truck (without telling you this is going to happen) as it progresses through the country. Bekins used the same truck/driver on both sides. I would recommend Bekins in a heartbeat. They are your ticket to a more organized and less stressful experience. I regret it that I didn't call them.

I have paid my bill because that's what someone with integrity does. I currently wait to hear back from them with news regarding the chair and the two-wheeler.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Minneapolis, MN

Poor

This company is awful. They pose as a moving company, but are brokers who take a down payment, promise efficient delivery, and make you wait many months to get your stuff. Some people have waited up to 5 months to get their furniture and find it stolen, broken and destroyed. This company should be put out of business. Do not use them, you will be in the same position as many others.. Without your stuff!

Don't use them!!

Lies and switching. 10-14 days became 21 days, now it has become 30 days. Whenever I call customer service, no one can answer questions or knows where my things are!! They changed the price + $2800 - at the last minute and I actually had less than half of the boxes from the estimate. Promises of the price based on what I had was not true. This experience was not what was promised!! Buyer Beware!!

Long-distance move from Johns Island, SC to Boulder, CO

Horrific customer service

This moving company still has my goods. After signing the contract with them I realized that there were several things I was not informed of. I was not informed they were a broker and not a mover, I was not informed they will only give one day notice for drop off, and a whole slew of other things. When the mover picked up my items he charged more (which I was told wouldn’t happen) and asked when I wanted them delivered. I had been told they wouldn’t be delivered before 2 to 3 weeks out, so I said no sooner than 2 to 3 weeks out, which worked for me. I was told that someone would be in touch with me that week to schedule. It has now been over a month and I have called for updates countless times. I am being given the run around. I’m told they don’t know, they can’t tell me until the movers gets back to them, someone will call me back…. No information is ever given. I should not, as a customer, need to navigate misinformation and be strung along with no clarity as to when I will receive my belongings.

Do NOT hire this company!!! Buyer Beware!!

This company under-estimates the cost of your move, and then charges you 3X more. They move your belongings to a warehouse, unload and then wait until a truck is doing several moves in your vicinity to deliver your stuff. This info is not explained to you before signing the contract. I don't think they want you to know. The movers stated the truck would arrive in 3-5 days. As of today, we have been waiting for 8 days, and the company does not know where our belongings are or when they will be delivered. We (myself and 3 young children) are sleeping on the floor of our new home, and have no household goods to prepare meals. It is a nightmare! The customer service department does not have a clue about customer service. The rep kept interrupting me and actually yelled at me because I was upset. She stated she would not help me if I wasn't patient!! Read the contract in its entirety and do not sign it until you do. They will push you to sign it quickly. We did find a tiny section that states it can be 30 days until your belongings are delivered. They did not want us to see that. This is unacceptable. Buyer beware!!!

We feel scammed :-(. Please don't trust these guys!!!

I don't know where to start. Almost everything about our experience with Allegiance was as incredibly frustrating and dissapointing, the exception being the initial contact. In the acquisition phase they seemed reliable and helpful and we made the mistake of trusting them. Our phone contact "George" even gave us his cell phone number, only to go A-wall as soon as things started going wrong. Just a summary of the horror that was our experience with Allegiance: the final costs were more than double than the very elaborate estimate done right before the move, which to us seems to imply that either they are extremely bad at their jobs or they were scamming us. On top of that there were hidden/ additional costs, like 1500 to move furniture into a truck (why did they not include this in the quote from the get go?..). Lots of furniture was lost, including pieces of an expensive sectional, beds, and patio furniture. Many items were damaged, including a tv, matrasses, art, toys, lamps, and tables (all packed by Allegiance movers). They charged us hundreds of dollars for a trampoline that they were not able to put back together. Other things were put back together wrongly and we had to redo it ourselves. To make matters worse customer service was extremely unhelpful. Most emails were ignored and we were promise call backs that we never received. Our initially friendly contact person George never replied to any of our emails after the acquisition phase. Other people we spoke to over the phone were very rude and unhelpful. It is clear that they are used to angry customers and have found ignoring them to be the best strategy. At this point we are looking into our options with respect to litigation as we truly feel scammed. Doing a crappy job is one thing, Allegiance has turned this into a business model that unfortunately seems to be working for them. So, please save yourself money and stress and find real professionals that take pride in doing a good job instead of this bunch of scam artists, Allegiance Moving and Storage.

Long-distance move from Prescott Valley, AZ to Los Lunas, NM

Scam

We contacted Allegiance Movers and Storage in preparing for our move from Arizona to New Mexico and it was a total nightmare! They contacted Carefree Movers to do the actual moving and nothing that Allegiance had promised us was fulfilled. First, the price increased from the estimate of $8,100 to the final moving expense was $12,200!! A 50% increase!!We also rented a large U-haul trailer to move most of our boxes. We were never given a list of items loaded or unloaded. When they arrived to unload it was only one guy. We are in our 70's so unable to help much. But our niece and our grandson unloaded most of the truck. We had damage to box springs (that were properly wrapped for moving) and damage to 7 other pieces of furniture. Now no one from Allegiance wants to speak to us. We have called numerous times, left messages and no response. Do not use this company for your moving needs!!

Broker hired poor mover

This "broker" hired a company, they supposedly vetted, who was a nightmare to work with. Their quote was based on my inventory list without explaining things clearly and misjudged the "cubic feet". The mover required additional $1,000+ before moving my belongings.

They refused to listen to my concerns and complaints instead referring me back to the moving company. They did not stand behind me as their customer and provided no assistance in resolving the issues. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS BROKER without realizing they don't care about your experience!

Long-distance move from Miami, FL to Denver, CO

-PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY-

-PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY-

Consider this your sign NOT to use this company. This company gave me a quote to move a small studio apartment based on a very detailed itemize list of what would be moved. The weeks leading up to the move I decided to sell all my furniture. So the total area of space should have drastically decreased. I essentially took ONLY 30 2x2x2 boxes. Very easy and straight forward math. Total cost of move was supposed to be ~$2,400.

Once the movers with the truck show up the movers are asking for an ADDITIONAL $1,200 and refuse to begin loading the truck. The actually movers are a different company with a different contract so are under no obligation to honor the original contract with Allegiance. It was a weekend and Allegiance promised to have a manager approved a reimbursement if I paid the additional cost.

This was a 50% increase in price and I have removed a TV entertainment furniture, desk, small sofa, queen bed, chairs and other large items. How are 30 2x2x2 boxes so grossly miscalculated and why was I stuck with the error. Well as it turns out Allegiance gets half of the total cost of the move upfront as a deposit and the movers get the second half split up on pick up and delivery. I called Allegiance every single day for a month and a half in order to be reimbursed. Every time they had some wild crazy silyl excuse and because they already got their half up front they couldn't care less.

Once I get to the new place on the oppsosite side of the country the movers explained to me that they don't need to honor the delivery window agreed upon with Allegiance and that it was now a month and a half window. Yes you are reading that correctly. A month and a half window. I lived in an empty apartment like a squatter for a month before my things arrived.

Once the delivery day came, the truck driver wanted another $700 and threatened take my stuff back and sell it. He said he needed to put my stuff on a second smaller truck for it to be delivered. I explained to him that there was an adjacent street to my apartment that was a football field long and about 30-40 feet wide specifically for deliveries. I sent videos and pictures of 18 wheelers that were currently unloading at my same apartment complex without an issue. Again Allegiance, was no help because they had their portion of payment already.

Once my stuff WAS delivered. I had t ton of belongs broken, there was clear evidence of water damage. Again Allegiance or their movers cared. The cherry on top was that the delivery drivers didn't deliver two bags full of artwork that I have accrued over the course of a decade. Instead of the drivers coming back out to deliver it, I had to drive an hour out of town to meet them at another one of their deliveries to pick up my artwork that they would have otherwise kept for themselves.

Please if you ever needed a warning not use a company. This is it. I have spoken to friends that have used them and all have similar stories. They regular lowball estimates in order to secure quotes because what happens after they get their deposit doesn't concern them and then you are left at the mercy of drivers that will extort you every step of the way.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

CA to GA. Severely underestimated quote, raised the price after our deposit was made (which they won’t give back if you decide not to use them), said it would take a maximum of 21 days and it took over 40. Wasn’t until day 35 when I was complaining that they told me they don’t include weekends in their delivery quote! Already have damaged things and waiting to look through the rest of it to see if anything is missing. They suck, don’t use them. I put them on the same level as telemarketer scammers.

Scam company

Allegiance gives you an estimate, takes your money and sends a terrible moving company to damage your belongings and threatens you to pay more after the truck is loaded. We paid to have items packed and moving guys just threw stuff in boxes without bubble wrap etc. Most of our items were broken or damaged. Then Allegiance claims no responsibility for anything and doesn't return your calls.

Customer service

The customer service for this company is absolutely zero. I tried calling with a simple question over 15 times and the women answering the phone took my information but couldn’t answer the question. Most were pleasant enough but very unhelpful. One was extremely rude. The customer service people were always unavailable. Maybe the worst company I’ve ever used. I tried calling the sales person who booked our move and he never returned any calls once the contract was signed. This review is for the booking company not the actual movers.

Quote and conversations leading up to move date

First off, Bill B. is incredible. Made me feel comfortable across the board regarding a cross country move. Enter George S - the guy is liar, hard press, sell, don't care, treat a prospective customer like crap while demanding a "return or else" response environment during my decision making process on whether to use this company or not. I didn't specifically because of Georges attitude and lies. Needless to say, it's not how any prospective customer should be treated. I believe it's just this guys attitude across the board - it was not just a bad day for him, it's how he is. He's the worst representative I have ever had to deal with EVER in any situation, but compound it with the concern of moving a house across the country? If you happen to speak with this guy ask for someone else, if he is in fact a manager as he portrayed, he's not a leading example and if his sales team is following his commands as he commanded me - best of Luck. Bill, if you work for him get another job you are heads and tails above this guy - no comparison.

Not a mover only a broker cost 3 x pickup days late delivery also

1st not a mover only a broker

cost 3 x original estimate

no phone calls ghosted pickup 5 days late

delivery with one hour call asking for all fees including storage which had already been paid (yes double charged)

could not deliver when I asked because a flag had been put on my account and no-one knew who to ask to remove it. Contract small print allows them to give very poor service legally with large windows of delivery written from the time they say the will do anything. I had to call them repeated and talk with many people to finally get my stuff. Renting a Uhaul and hiring a driver would have cost the same or less.

The stress of not knowing when and if things would arrive and yes they did lose a few things though on the forms it is hard to track and it took a week for me to figure it out. With the 50% of original estimate paid in a bank transfer it is hard to just walk away when I realized I had picked a broker not a quality mover. I pray this review helps other make a wiser choice.

Not transparent upfront

They tell you what you want to hear in the first call, then another company shows up at pickup and a third one shows up at delivery, these companies do not have coordinated inventories or processes, does not matter if the pickup company had a good or bad inventory process the delivery company knows nothing about it because they are independent, really bad experience

This is a great company and they seem to work with the best

I am a collector and needed someone to professionally pack some things for me. I had my comics in just regular boxes and Allegiance suggested that they be packed and stacked a different way. I was putting these into a storage unit and they told me that if I needed heavier, sturdier boxes or they would probably just get crushed. The guy in charge went out and got better boxes and it really made me feel good that they just didn’t throw everything as is on the truck. My wonderful collection made it without any damages. I will recommend them to all my nerd friends! Allegiance did a great job, the carrier they sent to me was spot on!

They were excellent and professional!!

I hired Allegiance to move me and from the initial conversation with Katie my mind was at ease. She spent a long time on the phone with me going over everything and how the process works. I also liked that they had other teams involved that called me at various times to review things with me. I think they called me like 6 times before my moving day. I paid a lot of money for the move and got exactly what I paid for, great service and care from everyone involved. They picked my items up and it was a great transition to the new house. I had my stuff delivered two days later and they put everything where I wanted it to be and they even put together my beds and other pieces of furniture. The crew was great and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

Allegiance the two teams they had out were great on both ends, courteous, very hard working, and so friendly. Katie and Emmi and Mo are a few of the names that stood out to me. I moved to IL and thought all my stuff was gonna get broken or lost but I trusted the reviews and went with my gut. They delivered on time and nothing was damaged.
