Long-distance move from Johns Island, SC to Boulder, CO

Horrific customer service

This moving company still has my goods. After signing the contract with them I realized that there were several things I was not informed of. I was not informed they were a broker and not a mover, I was not informed they will only give one day notice for drop off, and a whole slew of other things. When the mover picked up my items he charged more (which I was told wouldn’t happen) and asked when I wanted them delivered. I had been told they wouldn’t be delivered before 2 to 3 weeks out, so I said no sooner than 2 to 3 weeks out, which worked for me. I was told that someone would be in touch with me that week to schedule. It has now been over a month and I have called for updates countless times. I am being given the run around. I’m told they don’t know, they can’t tell me until the movers gets back to them, someone will call me back…. No information is ever given. I should not, as a customer, need to navigate misinformation and be strung along with no clarity as to when I will receive my belongings.

Long-distance move from Malvern, PA to Houston, TX

We feel scammed :-(. Please don't trust these guys!!!

I don't know where to start. Almost everything about our experience with Allegiance was as incredibly frustrating and dissapointing, the exception being the initial contact. In the acquisition phase they seemed reliable and helpful and we made the mistake of trusting them. Our phone contact "George" even gave us his cell phone number, only to go A-wall as soon as things started going wrong. Just a summary of the horror that was our experience with Allegiance: the final costs were more than double than the very elaborate estimate done right before the move, which to us seems to imply that either they are extremely bad at their jobs or they were scamming us. On top of that there were hidden/ additional costs, like 1500 to move furniture into a truck (why did they not include this in the quote from the get go?..). Lots of furniture was lost, including pieces of an expensive sectional, beds, and patio furniture. Many items were damaged, including a tv, matrasses, art, toys, lamps, and tables (all packed by Allegiance movers). They charged us hundreds of dollars for a trampoline that they were not able to put back together. Other things were put back together wrongly and we had to redo it ourselves. To make matters worse customer service was extremely unhelpful. Most emails were ignored and we were promise call backs that we never received. Our initially friendly contact person George never replied to any of our emails after the acquisition phase. Other people we spoke to over the phone were very rude and unhelpful. It is clear that they are used to angry customers and have found ignoring them to be the best strategy. At this point we are looking into our options with respect to litigation as we truly feel scammed. Doing a crappy job is one thing, Allegiance has turned this into a business model that unfortunately seems to be working for them. So, please save yourself money and stress and find real professionals that take pride in doing a good job instead of this bunch of scam artists, Allegiance Moving and Storage.

Long-distance move from Miami, FL to Denver, CO

-PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY-

-PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY-

Consider this your sign NOT to use this company. This company gave me a quote to move a small studio apartment based on a very detailed itemize list of what would be moved. The weeks leading up to the move I decided to sell all my furniture. So the total area of space should have drastically decreased. I essentially took ONLY 30 2x2x2 boxes. Very easy and straight forward math. Total cost of move was supposed to be ~$2,400.

Once the movers with the truck show up the movers are asking for an ADDITIONAL $1,200 and refuse to begin loading the truck. The actually movers are a different company with a different contract so are under no obligation to honor the original contract with Allegiance. It was a weekend and Allegiance promised to have a manager approved a reimbursement if I paid the additional cost.

This was a 50% increase in price and I have removed a TV entertainment furniture, desk, small sofa, queen bed, chairs and other large items. How are 30 2x2x2 boxes so grossly miscalculated and why was I stuck with the error. Well as it turns out Allegiance gets half of the total cost of the move upfront as a deposit and the movers get the second half split up on pick up and delivery. I called Allegiance every single day for a month and a half in order to be reimbursed. Every time they had some wild crazy silyl excuse and because they already got their half up front they couldn't care less.

Once I get to the new place on the oppsosite side of the country the movers explained to me that they don't need to honor the delivery window agreed upon with Allegiance and that it was now a month and a half window. Yes you are reading that correctly. A month and a half window. I lived in an empty apartment like a squatter for a month before my things arrived.

Once the delivery day came, the truck driver wanted another $700 and threatened take my stuff back and sell it. He said he needed to put my stuff on a second smaller truck for it to be delivered. I explained to him that there was an adjacent street to my apartment that was a football field long and about 30-40 feet wide specifically for deliveries. I sent videos and pictures of 18 wheelers that were currently unloading at my same apartment complex without an issue. Again Allegiance, was no help because they had their portion of payment already.

Once my stuff WAS delivered. I had t ton of belongs broken, there was clear evidence of water damage. Again Allegiance or their movers cared. The cherry on top was that the delivery drivers didn't deliver two bags full of artwork that I have accrued over the course of a decade. Instead of the drivers coming back out to deliver it, I had to drive an hour out of town to meet them at another one of their deliveries to pick up my artwork that they would have otherwise kept for themselves.

Please if you ever needed a warning not use a company. This is it. I have spoken to friends that have used them and all have similar stories. They regular lowball estimates in order to secure quotes because what happens after they get their deposit doesn't concern them and then you are left at the mercy of drivers that will extort you every step of the way.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

CA to GA. Severely underestimated quote, raised the price after our deposit was made (which they won’t give back if you decide not to use them), said it would take a maximum of 21 days and it took over 40. Wasn’t until day 35 when I was complaining that they told me they don’t include weekends in their delivery quote! Already have damaged things and waiting to look through the rest of it to see if anything is missing. They suck, don’t use them. I put them on the same level as telemarketer scammers.

Long-distance move from Prescott Valley, AZ to Los Lunas, NM

Scam

We contacted Allegiance Movers and Storage in preparing for our move from Arizona to New Mexico and it was a total nightmare! They contacted Carefree Movers to do the actual moving and nothing that Allegiance had promised us was fulfilled. First, the price increased from the estimate of $8,100 to the final moving expense was $12,200!! A 50% increase!!We also rented a large U-haul trailer to move most of our boxes. We were never given a list of items loaded or unloaded. When they arrived to unload it was only one guy. We are in our 70's so unable to help much. But our niece and our grandson unloaded most of the truck. We had damage to box springs (that were properly wrapped for moving) and damage to 7 other pieces of furniture. Now no one from Allegiance wants to speak to us. We have called numerous times, left messages and no response. Do not use this company for your moving needs!!

Long-distance move from Sutton, MA to Tucson, AZ

Broker hired poor mover

This "broker" hired a company, they supposedly vetted, who was a nightmare to work with. Their quote was based on my inventory list without explaining things clearly and misjudged the "cubic feet". The mover required additional $1,000+ before moving my belongings.

They refused to listen to my concerns and complaints instead referring me back to the moving company. They did not stand behind me as their customer and provided no assistance in resolving the issues. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS BROKER without realizing they don't care about your experience!

Long-distance move from Rio Vista, CA to Peachtree City, GA

Scam company

Allegiance gives you an estimate, takes your money and sends a terrible moving company to damage your belongings and threatens you to pay more after the truck is loaded. We paid to have items packed and moving guys just threw stuff in boxes without bubble wrap etc. Most of our items were broken or damaged. Then Allegiance claims no responsibility for anything and doesn't return your calls.

Customer service

The customer service for this company is absolutely zero. I tried calling with a simple question over 15 times and the women answering the phone took my information but couldn’t answer the question. Most were pleasant enough but very unhelpful. One was extremely rude. The customer service people were always unavailable. Maybe the worst company I’ve ever used. I tried calling the sales person who booked our move and he never returned any calls once the contract was signed. This review is for the booking company not the actual movers.

Long-distance move from Portland, OR to Los Angeles, CA

Not a mover only a broker cost 3 x pickup days late delivery also

1st not a mover only a broker

cost 3 x original estimate

no phone calls ghosted pickup 5 days late

delivery with one hour call asking for all fees including storage which had already been paid (yes double charged)

could not deliver when I asked because a flag had been put on my account and no-one knew who to ask to remove it. Contract small print allows them to give very poor service legally with large windows of delivery written from the time they say the will do anything. I had to call them repeated and talk with many people to finally get my stuff. Renting a Uhaul and hiring a driver would have cost the same or less.

The stress of not knowing when and if things would arrive and yes they did lose a few things though on the forms it is hard to track and it took a week for me to figure it out. With the 50% of original estimate paid in a bank transfer it is hard to just walk away when I realized I had picked a broker not a quality mover. I pray this review helps other make a wiser choice.

Long-distance move from Moraga, CA to Larchmont, NY

Not transparent upfront

They tell you what you want to hear in the first call, then another company shows up at pickup and a third one shows up at delivery, these companies do not have coordinated inventories or processes, does not matter if the pickup company had a good or bad inventory process the delivery company knows nothing about it because they are independent, really bad experience
