Horrible service

Terrible service. I wish I could give 0 stars. They broke multiple things due to not packing them carefully. The movers were not professional at all and the company refused to pay an adequate amount for a replacement and/or repair of our furniture. One of the movers was very rude and he was yelling and complaining about everything all the time, he was literally throwing our boxes from the truck and broke our sleeper sofa besides damaging our furniture and TV. Stay away from this company.

Worst EVER!

I called them in a pinch, when the last company I was working with messed me up. They scheduled an estimation with me for the following weekend, and that person never showed up. I called his contact number and it went right to voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. I called the company to find out what happened and they scheduled a virtual estimation for a couple days later. The guy I spoke with also told me to call me the next day, so I could talk to a VP. I called the next day, and there was no VP to be found. Also, on the day of the virtual estimation, THAT person never called me. But the day after, the ORIGINAL estimator called me. I had found another MUCH better company already, so I didn't answer. Also, this company said they were going to send movers from 6 hours away! These people have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Also, please note that the cost entered is only because this review site requires that I enter something. I never actually used this company because of how horrible they were from the beginning.

Takes them 2 Hours longer than most

Do not use AMS. They system locks you into a set time frame and they end up charging you more by adding a person or their 18% surcharge for fuel. It took them 2 hours longer to move me that 2 other companies I had used...with one more person. I can see how they do it, their movers are one their phones, and take too much time to wrap up the furniture. When you call customer service, they are rude and will not entertain a credit. They simply say you should use the other movers you used before. This was a horrible and costly lessons for me, and I would recommend to never use them.

The case of the broken bookcases

I don’t even really know where to start with the problems that I had. The movers at least showed up at the appointed time, so I thought that was going to show how the day was going to go. It was two people living in a 2 bedroom apartment on the third floor, so there wasn’t a lot of stuff, but everything that we had was packed up. We even had things that we decided to take with us, so out of the probably 43 boxes, we ended up taking 16-20 boxes along with other things like electronics. We are avid collectors and readers so we did have 19 bookcases, a lot I know, but everything was off of them. They spent 4 hours (830am-1230pm) moving everything down into the truck. They even took some things down to the dumpster for me, so that was much appreciated, I know that they did not have to do so. I don’t think that it should have taken them 4 hours to move around 20 boxes, 19 bookcases, and a handful of other things, but I don’t do this for a living every day so who knows. They asked if they minded if they went to lunch, which of course I didn’t mind. So they were gone for an hour. Got to the house, which was about 30 minutes away from the apartment, around 130pm and took 4 hours to move everything from the truck into the house. This is where the real problem starts. They asked us to show them around to see where things were going to go. I had not had a chance to re-paint any of the rooms so it was fairly simple to recognize the rooms. Pink, Purple, Sparkly Pink, and Beige. They started bringing the bookcases in, which they had only wrapped in the blue blanket and some shrink wrap. They kept asking where each one went, which I understand they wanted to make sure things went to the right places. However, they did not use care while taking them up the stairs, so I’m assuming they did not use care when they were bringing them down at the apartment. 9 of our 19 bookcases were ruined. Nails were torn out, the backs were torn off, pieces were chipped off, the bottoms torn apart. Some were leaning and there was even a whole entire shelf missing. My best friends husband looked in the truck for it and did not see it. I could see 1 or 2 things getting damaged in the move, but 9 bookcases? And they were $100 a piece, so they were not cheap. The next part of the problem was that in the end, they just put everything in the living room instead of putting it where we told them. All the boxes were labeled with the name of the room or color, depending on if it was upstairs or not. One of the movers was on a phone call when he was moving things, which was is fine, but take a small break if you need to make a personal phone call. They noticed the damage done to some of the bookcases and had a conversation with my sister about it. Finally, they had moved everything in and it was time for me to pay. $1800 for 8 hours of work. It should not have taken 8 hours, but once again, what do I know, I don’t do this for a living. In doing the math, they ended up charging me for their hour lunch break. I called the office in the following days and informed them of the damage and issues, plus the charge of the lunch break which it was confirmed that they were not supposed to do that. It’s been about 2 months since my move date and it has taken me this long to calm down enough over the damage. Now that I am thinking more on it, I was charged a $180 deposit fee, which was said to go towards my total price. I am thinking that it did not though. I understand that this may have been a fluke and these guys just had an off day, but it is still unacceptable, especially when they were only going to offer me $160 for 9 $100 bookshelves, eventually they ended up giving me just shy of $400 but that still didn’t get me new bookshelves to replace the ones that they carelessly broke.

Cancelled with less than 24 hours notice

Do not trust these scammers. They will collect a deposit from out of state and then cancel last minute claiming they are overbooked. Absolute trash company. This is common, check their Facebook and click on any post and read the comments. Not a single positive review to be found. Steer clear or have a backup plan ready to go because they WILL let you down.

Destroyed furniture

I hired ALL MY SONS MOVING COMPANY (AMS) March 2023 to move boxes of household items that were packed by myself, and also 1 bedroom set that was to be packed and protected by AMS. The sales person that came to my home assured me that the movers were well trained, and were very good at protecting the furniture so I agreed to let them handle the packing of the furniture. They charged me extra for providing the materials to protect the furniture. The move took place on a Friday morning, and the contents were being moved from a condo to a storage unit until my new home is ready. The 3 men showed up on time and began wrapping the bedroom furniture in plastic. I kept telling the one man that he was not covering the furniture properly, and that he had not taken the shelf out that was inside. After several times back and forth, he told me that “ they would treat my furniture as they would their own and to stop worrying”. He assured me that the shelf did not need to come out and he wasn’t real happy with my trying to tell him what to do. When they moved that piece of furniture that I told him wasn’t being wrapped properly, the shelf was banging around. Next time I saw it was when they were putting it in the storage unit. The plastic was all torn off, and the side was destroyed. This was a Friday they were moving me and I was settling on my old place that Monday, otherwise, I would have fired them on the spot when they would not listen to me. I purchased a heavy duty mattress cover with Amazon and covered the mattress and I advised the two men that were carrying it that I had also paid for a mattress cover with AMS and they should put that over top of mine to make sure it doesn’t get damaged and I also wanted the top taped closed. They agreed to tape the top of the mattress cover closed, however, they said that the one that I purchased from Amazon was so thick that they didn’t need to put the “cheap”one on that they brought and refused to put it on. They said nothing could break through the one I had purchased. I saw them dragging the mattress on the floor at the storage unit, and then one of the men put his fist through the plastic so he could carry it better. With the holes in the mattress cover, the mattress is now exposed to any dust or debris in the unit. I had to stand back at the storage unit so they could load the heavy items in and I was not able to see if any of the items were damaged other than the dresser that they had sideways. It also was wrapped in plastic and torn off and the wood side destroyed. Two of the movers stood there and told me that the two items we could see where the sides were totally destroyed happened because they were dragged across the concrete drive. Since I won’t be in my new place for months, I have no idea what else they have destroyed.

The only thing I needed protected was just 1 bedroom set. They were so careless and refused to listen to me. I did not take their insurance simply because I knew the items in the boxes could not be damaged, and they assured me that they would protect the furniture items properly. It would only take three hours to move. I have moved numerous times before. At the most something is scratched or broken, and can easily be fixed. Even though the furniture was fairly new, I didn’t think they could do much damage. There were three strong men. There wasn’t any need to drag furniture across a concrete driveway on its side. That is not an “accident”. These are supposed to be professional movers. They were anything but.

The claims office offered me $165. The claims adjuster refused to let me speak with the supervisor. I made a complaint to the BBB and then I was finally allowed to speak with a supervisor. I tried to explain to the supervisor that this was not an accident. Professional movers don’t drag wood furniture across concrete. Mattress covers are used to protect the mattress. The supervisor offered me an additional $85. When I told him to send me the paperwork and I would do what I had to do, he told me I needed to read the paperwork carefully, because there was a non-disclosure clause which would prevent me from writing any bad or negative reviews regarding ALL MY SONS. This is how vendors prevent bad reviews. I’d rather they keep their $250 plus my $1100 and people know that the movers were so poor and their response to my claim was ridiculous. I guess they don’t mind taking advantage of a 72-year-old woman. BEWARE!

Horrible Company

Horrible company, jacked up fee half way through emptying their truck. When I complained, Matt, owner/manager started swearing at me and later hung up on me. Moving staff half way through moving my stuff stopped and attempted to take my belongings away. When I tried to stop them, all three movers assulted me and threatened to kill me. I had to call the police on them. After police arrived, they delivered the remaining items. I should have read the 1.4 star review before deciding to call these crooks. Do NOT trust this company, if you give them your business, you will regret it fast. If you care about your SAFETY and wish to live another day, WATCH OUT!

Undisclosed fees and lack of professionalism when customer disputes it

I am a recent customer and am highly dissatisfied with my business.

My move yesterday was a 2.6 mi one way move.

My major complaint is regarding undisclosed fees.

1. I am being charged $108 in gas when this move was 2.6 miles ONE WAY. Gas averages around $4 a gallon.

2. I was charged for "moving supplies" that I did not consent to. Everything that was to be moved yesterday, I packaged myself. It was not packaged. I took responsibility for that. Without my consent or knowledge, staff boxed up my TV (which was already wrapped by myself) and wrapped my filing cabinet (which I did not care to be protected) without my knowledge or consent. I understand that these things cost extra. But I did not request them, want them, or was communicated with your staff about these being added to my service until I recieved the invoice.

3. Travel time. Seems to be an expense that is also exploitative as I am also being charged for labor as well- for which Is allotted for that travel time. If we want to consider travel time. That one way move 2.6 miles one way takes 10 minutes with regular traffic and 15 minutes in extreme conditions. To charge me $199 dollars for a 10 min drive is exploitative.

Let's talk about the process from the start.

I spoke to 3 representatives before your guys presented on moving day. Not ONE of them verbally mentioned over the phone the additional fees outside of the labor costs. All of your calls are recorded, and I heavily suggest you personally go back and listen to these as pricing outside of the labor cost was NOT mentioned.

The representatives I spoke to are Austin, Zach, and Heather.

Heather insists that she told me about pricing and that she "does this every time". Her confidence is admirable but not true. I told her to go back and listen to the call herself as she needs an ego check. She also needs to check herself with customers who are , if they are coming from my experience, reasonably upset to have lack of integrity in the service that the customer is getting.

-Your guys are not professional, very immature and work slowly- I'm assuming that's bc they know they are on the clock.

The infrastructure of your business seems flawed from my prospective. I especially am displeased that payment comes in the middle of the move. As if your belongings are being held hostage without payment. And if you are in my shoes, where you are blind sighted by the outrageous cost and want to dispute that- the customer is PAYING to argue with your staff while their belongings are being held. I have emailed Matt Meaders requesting a refund for the undisclosed fees and also a voice message to which he has yet to respond to.

STAY AWAY! DISHONEST, DECEPTIVE, THIEVES!

STAY AWAY, unless you want to get ripped off in EVERY WAY! 'All My Sons' operates on egregious, misleading, and deceptive business practices. I chose a Monday move (for the lower rate) and I was quoted $159 per hour with 2 movers. On move day, they showed up with 3 movers, and only after they loaded all my belongings onto the truck, did they tell me it was going to be $199 per hour! Naturally, I immediately called a supervisor who was completely unwilling to help me. All he said was, "I can have my guys pull all your stuff out of the truck and leave, if you want." Obviously, that wasn't an option; considering someone else was moving in that day. They also never asked me for authorization to use and charge me for unneeded and unwanted moving and packing supplies. Being former military, I had everything packed and labeled (in English AND Spanish) and ready to go. Yet, after the move, there were several boxes nowhere near the rooms they were supposed to go in. Then of course they charged me for all the unnecessary supplies they used. Numbers don't lie, and my move was 3.6 miles away (a 10-minute drive). Why did it take 6 hours, with 3 movers (and me) to move a single 1-bed apartment 3.6 miles down the very same road!? Because the movers were moving at a glacial pace (purposely). I believe this business is breaking the law, and I intend to take full legal action to make sure 'All My Sons' doesn't rape or pillage any more innocent people. I work hard for my money, and I despise thieves!
