All My Sons Moving and Storage

All My Sons Moving is a terrible moving company – the worst move I’ve ever experienced. In January 2022 my husband and I hired All My Sons in San Antonio to move our belongings from storage to our new home, approximately 2.5 miles apart. They showed up with one truck instead of two so we called the company, they looked up our order and sent a 2nd truck, which arrived two hours later. Early on one of the movers was fired on the spot due to his talking on the phone instead of working, and he got out of the truck and started walking around the gated storage unit. The storage facility called us and told us what he was doing on the grounds and that he couldn’t be there. At the same time, the movers that were moving our belongings seemed to be moving in slow motion. Everything in storage was already wrapped by another moving company (that we loved but was out of town) and was ready to be moved, but it took the AMS movers almost twice the amount of time that the previous moving company took. After watching the movers and seeing one of them accidently knock over a floor vase and break it, my husband decided to not let them move our framed pictures – we moved some items at a later date. When our belongings were loaded up the movers drove into town and took a lengthy lunch. They showed up at the house around three pm and started unloading. The AMS movers didn’t use equipment or furniture movers – just their hands. I watched one of the movers put two deep gouges in my brand new wood floor. I also noticed surface marks on the wood floor between the two guest bedrooms. They were turning the furniture around on the floor. Despite these issues things were moving along until we were told we had to pay the bill early and it was app. $3200. We questioned the amt. and found out that they had charged us $249. per hour for their lunch and also for their travel time into town. The person we talked to over the phone reduced the move to approx. $2500. Things went south just after this. We overheard the lead mover complaining about us to the other guys. He was mad at us for questioning the amount charged. (We were quoted the move would cost $1400-$1900. so we were shocked.) After the bill was paid we noticed the guys started moving fast and started whispering to each other. Next thing we knew they started unloading the furniture and boxes outside on the driveway. When asked if they would bring it into the house they said they were off the clock. The lead repeated this several times. One of the movers was ignoring the lead and trying to help us and do the right thing despite the pressure that the lead man put on him. In the end, I have a lot of damage to my furniture and broken dishes. We are in our 60s and could have really used a good moving company. We called the company to tell them about our experience as well as to get the information to file a claim for reimbursement. Twice we were told they would call us back but we never heard from them. We’ve decided the AMS staff act the way they do because it’s allowed. This company exhibits a total lack of integrity.

***BEWARE** Predatory Practices..

This is a shady Company. They will hire inexperienced movers that will drop, break and damage your belongings. As soon as you complain about it, they will demand payment before the unload is done and before the job is done. If you tell them that you will pay them when the job is done, they will stop unloading you belongings and close their truck and attempt to leave with your belongings ( in other words, they will hold your stuff until you pay them without any reason to believe that you are NOT going to pay them). This is not business, These are mob tactics and extortion..

We did an out of state move and All My Sons agreed to accommodate us as they usually do in-state moves. The delivery was late by a week, which had to do with their contractors. We understand things happen, however they refused to reimburse us for our trouble because it was “not guaranteed” on the contract. While we understand it was not a guaranteed delivery date, it was the reasonable day we expected our belongings to arrive, and were quoted so verbally. It would have been appropriate to reimburse us for every business day past the expected date of delivery. Their reasoning for no reimbursement was that it was not outside the legal days they had to deliver, which in my opinion is the minimum standard and has no bearing on customer satisfaction and service. They did a nice job of moving our stuff out and do appreciate what they did to get our stuff to us eventually, but overall we were not satisfied with their lack of accommodation with the delivery being late.

They stole from me. I've moved 5 times and this is by far the worst moving company I've ever dealt with. I had a 5-mile move on the west side of Cleveland. AllMySons "lost" an expensive statue head that I purchased on a trip to Asia years ago. The thing is 50lbs, made of stone, and 3-feet high. It's very unique and not something you forget. Somehow they "lost" it in the 5-mile drive from one place to the other. When I went through the claims process with their "insurance" they offered me $75 total since their coverage is $0.60/lb no matter what the object is. The whole thing is ridiculous. They definitely stole this statue as there's no way they could have lost it and then they want to compensate me near nothing. The statue head they stole cost more than my entire move. Will try to pursue legal action against this company for their theft.

Destructive Moving should be their name. They broke 4 pieces of furniture including a marble dresser top that cost $900 to replace an antique headboard, antique dresser, TV cabinet and a different antique footboard. The left all of our original art at the old house which took us 3 pickup loads to pick up.

Their first offer of compensation was $350 & when I complained the top offer was $750.

All this on a move which was only 3 miles in town.

Stay far away from this company. They will sound like a great company when they come to give an estimate but they will steal you blind. And they will not do anything about it. I trusted Chris when he came to my home for an estimate and that ended up being the worst mistake of my life. We are retired military and have had many moving companies and this one was rated the best so we used them for our final local move. Please beware! The crew that is led by Alton cannot be trusted. So please rethink any decision to ever use this company.

We hired AMS to move our families belongings, including packing them.

They decided to leave the boxes out in the snow before loading them on their truck. The boxes themselves could handle it - they were quality boxes with thick walls, but the problem is they left them directly on the laminate floors and piled up. I am quick at unpacking, I had a 3 bedroom house unpacked completely within 24 hours, but it was not fast enough to prevent the melting snow from the boxes from damaging the floor.

We filed a claim, their claims office said it was there fault and offered us a check for damages, but we never received the check.

The second issue is, one of their employees, Jakobi Elester, had sticky fingers and made off with a bunch of our valuables. Jakobi was being supervised by a team leader/manager and two other coworkers and was uniformed in the company's uniform. We filed a police report and contacted the company. The police were able to locate and recover a few of the stolen items, and identified Mr. Jakobi Elester as the thief. When we notified the company, they refused to do anything about it. When the police went to arrest the employee, it appeared he had been transferred out of state.

The DA's office had to have the suspect returned to our jurisdiction, then go through trials. Eventually he plead guilty. Still no word if the company is going to cover the damages for their hired, we assume background checked, verified employee. It would be irresponsible for a company to have employees without insurance for such things, so we suspect they have insurance - so why are they ignoring the claims?

To clarify, since I suspect these are all franchises, this is the Indianapolis, IN location. We are also willing to raise our rating to three stars if the company reaches out to make things right. We now have a police report and a conviction as well as photos and a letter from the company acknowledging they are responsible for the floor damage.

100% ripped off, you will be the Rare exception. Honestly, I don't know how these guys manage to stay in business. Reeead the reviews. They are so horrible I'd say they aren't even legal. I was all set up to be moved on a Monday, as the buyers of my house expected to take over the house on Tu. The estimated cost was supposed to be $600ish. A fellow called on teh pre-ceeding weekend and said he needed to come out and and ck the job out. Then he upped the price to almost Three Times what I had been quoted. I not only screamed, but I practically begged them to not change the price, but I got nowhere, even after trying to talk to a national manager. Knowing that my job wouldn't be that major, I eventually changed to some sort of by hour charge or something, and was out of there for $1400, which is still insane since all my stuff was ready to go, and it wasn't that much, and we weren't going far... and no stair sor anything like that. 3 guys showed up, and the whole job only took a few hours. Pretty lame for $1400, and yes, I would have changed companies or done the move myself, but I had to be out right away, and so they had me over a barrel, so I had no choice but to get ripped off. My stuff was put in storage in such a way that I would not be able access any drawers or any of my things for the entire time it was in there. Over a year later (finally got a new house), I called this same company again, just to ck to see what would happen.... and also bc I was still not believing how bad I got lied to and taken advantage before... feels really bad to be done that way. Once again, they quoted me $600ish dollars, but this time, I had no deadline, and I remembered everything from before, and no way I was going to trust them (fool me once shame on you.. fool me twice shame on me), so I went and rented the smallest truck that U-Hual has and started to move what I could. I wound up loading it 100% entirely by myself, several times in fact (short trips), and lo and behold the job was Done, and I cancelled my moving appt with the crooks telling them no way I was going to trust them or let them take advantage of me like they managed to do the first time around. Warning... never ever ever use these guys. You'll be asking for it and you'll be sorry you did.
