All My Sons Moving and Storage

Not only does this company not take care of your belongings but they also steal from you and will not reimburse for the theft.
Used this company 4/29/2019 to move less than a mile, had several items damaged, boxes left in the garage and one of the workers stole 4 pieces of jewelry and pawned them. 2 items were recovered by police, the other 2 were not. The appraisal for the 2 pieces of jewelry is $19,000, they said jewelry appraisal are increased for insurance value and offered 2 settlements $4000 & $6000. They also said they called the jewelry company which they did not otherwise they would have told them the appraisals are correct. The employee was arrested , trial is 12/4/19. They are not a trust worthy company. Check out complaints on Facebook there is a page dedicated to there bad business.

DO NOT use All My Sons! They damaged the house I was moving out of, and the house I was moving into (broken light fixtures, broken ceiling fan, deep scratches in walls, ripped up laminate, dent in front door, literal hole in dry wall from dropping a dresser through the wall). Not only did we have the stress of buying a new home, but then on top of it a damaged new home now. They assigned us a handyman that we had to struggle with for him to even call us back. He half assed the repairs and blamed All My Sons for damaging so many homes he couldn't keep up. He literally had the key to the old house for a month and waited until the last day to fix things. I can't imagine what we would have done if he were renting and had to be out the next day. Everytime I called All My Sons they redirected my calls multiple times where I always ended up leaving messages. We NEVER had anyone from All My Sons call me back. We've been dealing with them for 8 MONTHS now. All that's left is for them to replace the kitchen floor because of the tears right in the middle in the laminate and the handyman making it look worse by trying to glue it down, and staining a doorway they had to fix because they cracked it. The handyman has completely ghosted us. Instead of doing the right thing they've only offered us $200 for the floor. To replace the entire floor! No one has EVER called us back after we asked them to see if there's any other options. Today we called and were told that apparently they put our case in front of the board a month ago and they said that was that. And no one called, emailed, and wrote us to let us know any of this. So 8 months later we have unfinished repairs and a hideous kitchen floor. DO NOT use this company. It was a mistake for going with a name I knew and wanting to not pay top dollar. NON EXSISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $500

We hired this moving company to move us from Oregon to Washington just right across the river. We specifically asked them to be careful with our bedroom furniture. The first thing that happened is they poked a hole in the wall moving it down the stairs from the old house. Once we got to the new house we noticed they had taken a big chunk out of the wood on the leg. We started noticing other pieces of wood furniture that had been damaged as well. They also tipped over boxes in the truck and broke several glass items. They had to be watched carefully when moving things in because they weren't that careful. We reported this to the estimator Mark who we contracted with. He told us we would be contacted to resolve this but we have never received that call. We let Mark know and are getting no response from him. I would not hire this company again and feel we should be compensated for the damages. Isn't that why they have insurance.

My husband and I recently used All My Sons for our short move within NC. A representative came to our house and gave us an estimate on the costs and answered all of our questions. We were responsible for packing everything and all the movers had to do was come to our house and load the truck. The movers disassembled our furniture and reassembled it in the new house at no additional charge. They had protective blankets and plastic wrap to ensure all of our belongings were packed appropriately in the truck. The arrived at our house a little after 10am and finished loading the truck around 1:40pm (3 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1400 sq. ft. house). They arrived at our new home around 4pm and completed unloading and reassembling the furniture not long after 7pm. It was a seamless process for us, nothing was damaged during this move.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1418

I gave them a call to get a moving quote. I informed them that I needed a quote with Packing and Moving – Full service along with a second pickup stop at the storage unit to pick up balance stuff and unloading at our house. All three stops are within 10 miles of each other. I also confirmed that their quote needs to include disassembly of furniture at the apartment, assembly of the furniture at the house. I requested that you add whatever to assemble the stored furniture as well. They responded that they cannot give me an accurate moving quote without looking at everything that needs packing. We set up an appointment for the estimator to stop by at our apartment and give us a quote.

The estimator came home. we walked the whole apartment together, Opened every closet, cupboard, kitchen cabinets, vessels, asked if we have anything heavy in the apartment or storage unit, noted the heavy items on the list. Then I showed him the boxes we already had in storage, and he promised to use our boxes and add the kitchen boxes (He specified that they will have different type of boxes that have additional thickness to protect our kitchenware) along with wardrobe boxes to all our clothes can remain to hang) Went ahead to tell me that they are an all-employee company, every employee goes through a 1 week paid training on packing and moving. They will protect our floors and door frames at both locations throughout the house before they start the move and unloading.

The day of the Move

4 good gentlemen showed up to start the move. Protected the entry door and put down some runners to protect the entrance. We signed all the required documents to start the move. Then the lead foremen told us, they did not know anything about packing; they were told everything will be packed and ready to move. They did not bring any packing material with them. We clarified things with the office, that there was some miscommunication at their end, so there was little waiting around, talking the phone and figuring our alternate solutions to keep going. They started the packing with OUR moving boxes. Their management showed up an hour later with a few more boxes to pack and a few wardrobe boxes. Here on out are all the things that went wrong.

The wardrobe boxes did not have rod in them, so the clothes were folded into them.

Our kitchenware was packed into wardrobe boxes due to a lack of appropriate material.

Items were left behind since they ran out of boxes. (We were informed of this after they stood around discussing the plan of action for some time)

UNPROFESSIONAL PACKING.

An unsealed plastic oil container was thrown onto the box of silverware and knives resulting in a leak)

The leak was ignored and the oily box was placed in the van on top of other boxes with clothes, spreading the oil to other boxes.

All smaller kitchen items were just thrown into a box to save space with no protection

It took them close to 5 hours to pack and load a 2 bedroom apartment.

4th phase: Storage unit

Reached the storage unit to realize they have not left enough space in the truck to pick up items from truck. They had to unload the whole truck and reload it back to fill the truck more efficiently to make space for items from the storage unit. They dropped boxes in the storage unit (yet to assess the damage). Completely damaged (beyond repair) cloth wardrobes while trying to move them. It took them 4 + hours to load a fully packed- half full 10 X 30 storage unit.

5th phase: Unloading at the house.

There was no protection put on the house floors are frame etc. during the move. At this time the management called us to demanded payment for the estimate amount plus 40% or the item will not be uploaded. We had to spend time with the operational Manager and his boss trying to understand the huge jump in the price mostly caused by the increase in labor hours due to all their inefficiencies. The amount for packing material was twice the amount as estimated (despite of using our boxes). They gave us a $100 discount, we has no choice but to pay this inflated price to keep things moving. At the end of the call, we were informed that they are going to be charging us labor for their men for the time we spent trying to understand the price increase and they have 2.5 hours left on the clock to unload and they will charge us any time they go over.

End of the day, we had no furniture assembled. Forget the stuff from the storage unit, not even the furniture they disassembles at the house. I had to call them 3 time to get the final invoice receipt from them.

It costed us $2256 for a move with exactly same items from Norther Virginia to Richmond (110 miles) including complete packing of a 4 bedroom house and garage, assembly of all the furniture at the 2 bedroom apartment and unloading and stacking at the storage unit.

This move costed us $2,678.86 for a local move within 10 miles.

WORST MOVE EVER… FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND, I RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

In late May 2020 we moved from Monument Colorado to Loveland Co. An estimator came to my place and to review everything that needed to be moved. He said while it would be tight he thought they could get it all in a 26ft truck, that it was possible there might be "a little" left over. Then he tried to upsell me on using 4 people instead of 3 (no mention of a larger truck, turns out they don't have larger trucks). I did the math and the cost of the 4rth person versus the estimated labor time did not come close to adding up, so I turned down the upsell.

On the move day they showed up two hours late due to a truck breaking down. They worked for many hours packing and loading (the movers themselves were hard working polite people who did a good job). The time needed to pack and load also ran way over the estimate. At the end they were way short on room in the truck, and they had not yet loaded most of the heavy furniture which would be hard for me to move myself. I called the manager, they were unhelpful, rude, and tried to sell me on having another move at the same price done the next day to bring the rest of my items (mostly furniture). Then they refused to take what they had loaded without a further payment.

The next day I had to rent a 15' truck and move all that furniture myself. I filled that truck completely.

In short they were deceptive, both the estimator and the manager outright lied about the situation and then held my move hostage when confronted with all this. It was the most terrible customer service I have ever received and was an outright hussle.

I would hope anyone reading this will take this experience to heart and find a different moving company.

This was my first time using this company it took them 3 1/2 hours to move 15 boxes, king size bed, dresser, 2 nightstands, full size bed, chest, dining room table/ 4 chairs, washer/ dryer and TV stand we didn't have alot and I couldn't understand why so little stuff would take that long and when they bought the stuff to the new place took them an hour to unload everything. After everything was done the total price was outrageous $548 I think they took there time because they saw we didn't have alot of stuff and the company wouldn't make alot of money I will never use this company again.

I hate to have to report this, but want everyone to be aware:

We recently had All My Sons Moving & Storage move most of our furniture into storage while we put our home up for sale. In the process of the move, one of the five young men who moved us stole a very large amount of cash from its hiding place in a piece of furniture that was not part of the move. The police investigated, of course all the movers denied everything, and the moving company refuses to do anything about it. As of this writing, all these young men are still working for this company.

I hate to have to say this, but please tell your friends to beware of All My Sons Moving -- sadly, they have turned out to be dishonest and disreputable. Steer clear of them.
