Please. Save Yourself. Don't Use These Scammers.

We had to move out of our small 1 bedroom apartment today, and GOOD LORD THEY'RE EXPENSIVE! Just to move everything out and into storage was $400! I've used cheaper moving companies that have moved a 3 bedroom house, packed everything nice and neat in storage, and it was only $250. Would that be the case here? HAHAHAHA no, no it's not. When we asked then to NEATLY pack the storage, they just threw it in there like it was worthless trash! I'm 100% sure that THEY wouldn't want their precious belongings broken and treated like garbage, now would they? I suggest that you NEVER use them. EVER. Go find cheaper ones. Always read reviews. Oh! Another thing! They almost took of with an expensive painting of mine! DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Connecticut

Recent move from NJ to CT.

The three men that physically moved my mother were quick, efficient, polite and very accommodating. The day of the move it was excruciatingly hot and humid, but they still did an outstanding job! They are the ones that made the move successful, although a box is still among the missing. My advice for anyone contemplating this company is to ask up front for the contract to review before issuing any deposit. The minimum cost for the move was so unrealistic that I was shocked when the actual invoice was issued at the end; it was more than double! I thought paying by the hour would be better than estimating square footage or weight but I'm beginning to think not. One good thing was we had a dedicated truck and the pick up and delivery were on the same day.

Outrageous sneak up pricing at end of move.

All my Sons Moving in Roswell, Georgia will quote you an approximate price over the phone. The move took twice as long as the company estimated. My one bedroom apartment cost $945.00 to move 10 miles. The company did such things as charge $38.25 for charging the move in the field; $160.00 for $20.00 worth of materials; and increase the time of the mover from 3 hours to 6 hours.

All My Sons Moving El Paso.

In June of last year, I helped my mother and brother move to a new location within El Paso. We hired All My Sons moving company. Although the movers themselves were friendly and hardworking, the company drastically underestimated how long the job would take (seeming almost to ignore a storage shed we had in the backyard) and because of this, the move ran overtime and we were charged accordingly. We finally paid in the early afternoon, they went on their way, and we spent until well after midnight finishing the move ourselves.

Once we were finally settled in, I was disheartened to find that they had badly scuffed my brother’s computer desk and completely snapped an old, hand-carved walking stick of mine that I had brought back from overseas and owned for over 20 years. I was prepared to write these off, however, as every move has some inevitable damages.

We were much more concerned to find that they had damaged a Chinese antique that had been in my mother’s possession for decades and followed her over several continents. Though not completely ruined, there was a sizable chunk taken out of the front of the piece, the remains of which we later found on the floor.

We got in touch with All My Sons to report the damage and to look into being reimbursed. During a phone conversation, we were told that the first step would be to get the piece appraised for its actual value and then its current value with damages. We could then find a second individual to handle the repairs. We followed AMS’s instructions, and when the matter was settled, the final cost, between appraisal, work, repairs and devaluation, was a little over $1300 dollars (about half of that being the devaluation).

We sent this itemized information to AMS, waited around, and eventually received a settlement offer of about $100. The representative pointed out that in the mover’s contract, damages could only be covered at a ratio of less than a dollar per every one hundred pounds of material moved. It’s not at all clear how they knew what the poundage was if they didn’t weigh anything to start with, and more to the point, why tell us to go through the process described above (involving several months’ work and a lot of lost money) if that had nothing to do with the damage payment?

They did not have a response to either of these matters. We were assured that the movers would be informed of the damages and held to a higher standard. We then responded that the movers did a reasonable job and that the damages could be chalked up to human error, but in refusing to cover them, or make any real attempt at customer satisfaction, the company itself seemed to be at fault, far more than a couple of young men stuck in the back of a moving van. We refused the payment on principle, and have nothing to show for our time and trouble. As a result, I would like to share this recommendation:

DO NOT HIRE ALL MY SONS MOVING COMPANY

If you have glossed over everything written above, just listen to that bit. Avoid these people. This is a bad company; not just bad at their jobs but completely unconcerned with the wellbeing of their customers.

Avoid them unless you wish to be in business with a company that has nothing better to do than break your stuff, give you the run-around, take advantage of old ladies, and then try to fob the blame off on their lowest employees, rather than addressing the problem at the highest office as they should.

Moving is never a pleasant experience, but I have never encountered a company so untrustworthy, unhelpful, and so casually destructive as AMS. All My Sons swindled us, and they did so with complete indifference. Nothing much can be done to retroactively change that. I’m sure some clever people will respond that they are completely within their legal rights, which is both true and completely unhelpful. However, if YOU don’t want to be the one receiving such cold comfort for your damaged materials and mementos, why not stay away in the first place? If I can keep even one person or family from meeting the same abysmal treatment that we did, that might go some small way towards making up for this fiasco. You have a choice of movers. Please, choose anybody else.

Damaged Items The Norm.

Used this company to pack and load for my move. Was told they would provide experienced movers. Found out quick this was not the case. Classic example, thye tried to pack and then move the side by side refrigerator out the front door. Now, everyone in the industry I have talked to knows that you should take the front door off so that you can have an extra 3/4 of an inch. This provides the extra space so that you don't dent it. We caught them trying to squezze this with the door on. Needless to say, our SS refrigerator has several dents due to them. We paid extra for certain items to be packed by them. Over half of the items they packed and loaded were damaged. Upon contacting this company and to go over the damaged items, was told they would not honor or accept any responcibilities. When pressed on why they would not honor anything in the claim, found that she did no research, asked any questions, nor knew anything about the move itself. She knew nothing until when I asked the questions and she was clueless. So if you want to accept damaged items packed and loaded by this company, you have found the right company.

Scamers.

We used “All My Sons” moving company back in June. The salesman came out and was very nice and we told him we needed a whole house move and he said that it looked like we would only need one large truck. The day of the move they came out with their large truck and begin to load. I could see that they were not going to be able to get all of our stuff on that large truck. They did not even get half of our stuff on the large truck. After doing some research I have found out that this is how “All My Sons” works, they send they're salesmen out to under bed the job. They wound up using the same truck again and still did not get all of our stuff moved. We had to finish moving the rest of our stuff ourselves. My wife, whenever they were using the truck the second time asked why it was taking more than two trucks, and was refusing to pay until they gave her an answer, they then threaten to hold our things hostage (Lol) until we made the second payment on the 2nd truck that's how these snakes in the grass do business! Do not use “All My Sons” you have been warned. They actually practice this method: 1. THE SALESMAN UNDER BIDS THE DEAL! 2. THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY ALL THE ADDED EXPENSE OF EVER HOW MANY MORE TRUCKS IT TAKES, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, OR THEY WILL HOLD YOUR STUFF! I’ve only touched on a few things, don’t get me started on the breakage and damaged furniture!!

Omaha office - Not up to speed with their service.

First they were late due to being "short handed" so they set up a second time. Then they were 2 hrs early for that. I missed 3 other appts for my new home just trying to get them out to my location. They sent an extra person and charged me for it. The move took 1 hr (load and unload) and they charged me for 2hours.

Spoke with Edward Wallen at the location to talk through these issues. He said my expectations of service were "asinine" and was already "helping me out". He has no clue on "customer engagement" as he told me that "this is the moving business so take it or leave it". Also said that he was "I was lucky" as they could have just "cancelled the order" and I would have "had to move myself".

Wait, you're late and missed the window to move me after I paid and I'm lucky?

They also charged me for tape that I did not use AT ALL but they invoiced me for it. The movers were nice enough but if Edward Wallen represents what they feel customers are and should be treated then I will NEVER use nor recommend them again.

Maybe other location work more closely with their customers. The Omaha location, not so much. FAIL!

Sent a email to the corporate office but have yet to hear back from anyone or acknowledge that my email has been received.

Bad Moving Experience.

The owner was very nice until the day of the move. If he was the owner. The owner was so adamant about me being at the storage around 7:30 am. On the morning of the move. I called the owner and asked, "What time are they going to be there? He said the dispatch out at 7:30a. I said you did not say that. He then said she did say that. I was trying to say, that I never spoke to a woman. He owner was so augmentative and very demeaning, told me to stop it! be quite!” No professionalism or courtesy at all! I was trying to explain and could not get a word in. I don't know if he was having a bad day. I even asked him that. I said, is this how you are going to talk to me, I am paying you? He said yes!! Do you want to do the job? He said no! I said put my money back in my account, and I can get someone else. He hung the phone up in my face. I started to pray, I asked the Lord to help me! I called another moving company, then I called a friend of mine and she called him. He was polite to her. I shouldn't have listen to her.
One of the drivers was slowing around, I guess to make it longer. He kept running back to the truck. The worst mistakes I made was to continue to let him move me. When there are so many more professional people out there, who will treat you with respect. We were only going 24-30miles. Then when we arrive at the house. You have to pay before you get your things off the truck. So the charges were ridicules you need your furniture so you have to pay. I have worked with a few movers because I work for the government and I am always moving. This is one of the worst moving company I have ever used. Will I ever use this company again, No! Will I recommend this company to anybody else! No! I am sure I will be moving again, but this company will never get my business. I called him and told this arrogant owner that I will be writing a review. He acts as though he did not care. Trust me do not use them again. Take my advice. I should have read the reviews first. That is what I usually do before I use anyone or purchase anything. Usually, someone has had a good or bad experience with something or someone. Bad for business!

All my Sons San Antonio, tx - Avoid Avoid Avoid.

ZERO STARS. Damaged, stolen/missing items. I beg of you to NEVER use All My Sons - San Antonio TX if you value your belongings, your finances and your peace of mind, especially if you are a senior with health issues. You will never be the same with the severe emotional distress caused by these monsters. There are no words to describe the horrendous experience with this company. I am shaking just typing this at the thought of trying to describe just how horrible they are. Damaged, broken items, dented, broken furniture, boxes dumped upside down even though clearly marked "Top," AND AN ENTIRE PIECE OF FURNITURE JUST VANISHED. How does a piece of furniture travel 12 miles and just DISAPPEAR. Did they steal it? Did they throw it off the truck in anger or for fun? They didn't even finish the job. In the middle of the job, they suddenly told me they would have to make TWO trips to move a two bedroom apartment. I said NO because I suspected they were trying to scam me at that point so I frantically scrambled looking for help because I needed to vacate my apartment. It took me FOUR DAYS to complete the move myself, making dozens of trips on my own, loading and unloading things even with pain and difficulty lifting, asking friends to help, and paying others to finish their lousy job. At the end, the bill was INSANE. "Fuel" overcharge, extra hours. When I started asking questions, they owned up to "mistakes" and partially credited me. But if I hadn't asked they were perfectly happy to defraud me. Terrible, horrible people who will take your money and your things and not give a flip. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY "NICE PHONE GUY" WHO DOES THE BOOKING - HE IS NOWHERE NEAR THE SCENE OF THE CRIME ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE, AND THE THINGS HE WILL TELL YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION TO THE REALITY OF WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS THE DAY OF THE MOVE. This despicable company will tell you anything to get your business and then happily trash your belongings and your life. THEY DO NOT CARE. I pray every night they go out of business so they can never hurt another human being again.
