AAA Moving Group

I would encourage you to have the money to be able to hire a lawyer prior to using this company.

In 2018, I moved from Phoenix to Cleveland, OH. I utilized a different moving company. I chose to use AAA this time because I the time frame I had to move, they were first company was unavailable. So I was well aware of how the process should work.

When I called they gave me a reasonable quote and I decided to move forward. A week later, after the down payment, the payment tripled. The representative stated that the prices would change with the less amount of services I utilized. (Be mindful, that my things were already organized in a storage unit from another professional moving company.) On move day, although the services changed, the price never did.

Here's why I wish I could have hired a lawyer:

1.) I was charged for services that were never used. Furthermore, they never measured the actual square footage I was being charged for.

2.) The moving company they actually contracted broke a sign in the storage facility that I was responsible for paying for.

3.) They broke the contract by delivering my things early. Consequently, I had to acquire another storage unit in Phoenix and a moving company to move things into my apartment.

4.) I contacted the initial broker about my move MULTIPLE times and never received any answers.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1600

Moving from OK to CT. I was surprised at how low the original quote was from Ashley Dones (2,700) so I went over the inventory multiple times. She assured me everything was correct and this included the full service of bringing supplies, packing, loading, and unloading. Had an inventory review today (48hrs before) with Cory and found out the price was so low because Ashley quoted it horribly incorrect. Her "full service" doesn't include supplies or packing, just loading and unloading. On top of that she put in everything as "small" under the inventory despite my detailed description of everything. Lastly, she only included small boxes that wouldn't have even come close to covering my 1600 sq ft home. The price after correcting her adjustments and including the actual full service was over $6,000. Luckily, Cory in finance was able to work out the best possible deal so I could barely afford it at $4,800. Ashley lied and then blocked her phone when I tried to confront her. Cory realized I had been backed into a corner with no options and helped the best he could. And this is all BEFORE the actual moving process, so if you are considering using AAA Moving Group, I would look at other options.

I couldn't have chosen a worse company. This is my third long-distance move, and I've never experienced anything so unprofessional. The sales agent had excellent customer service, but once I booked my move everything changed. They were unresponsive to calls or voicemails, misrepresented the delivery time (they said 6-12 days..it took 25), accepted no responsibility (they called me back one time and got my voicemail, then suggested I be more available), provided me with no notice when my stuff finally arrived, and several items, including large padded furniture, were broken into several pieces. They also charged me $500 more than originally quoted, added extra fees on delivery which they said were included (elevator fee?!), and said they only accepted certified check but then refused to take it at delivery. I had to borrow $400 from a friend because the ATM wouldn't let me take out the full amount for COD. The movers themselves were aggressive, unprofessional, and careless with my possessions.

Please beware. Everything they said on the phone was lies. The quote doubled. They told me we would have our things in a few days and our belongings would remain on one truck. The movers told me my stuff would be moved to a warehouse before potentially being on at least 2 more trucks to be delivered to me. Weeks later I am still waiting on my stuff and I have no idea where it is.

The guy who “sold” us on everything, who claimed to be a part of the entire process has been no where to be found.

I am personally sickened by how unscrupulous this business is and that I fell for their lies.

It’s not very often that I find people who are truly praiseworthy. But AAA Moving Group deserves every bit of the praise I’m about to write down for them. The movers were efficient and the customer service was very friendly. I was also impressed by how punctual these guys were. They arrived on time and finished the job really fast. They delivered everything in great condition and maintained the schedule as well. There were no extra costs added to the final bill. I have garnered a lot of genuine respect for these movers without whom my move wouldn’t have been possible.
