Scam movers

$2000.00 for a 2 mile move that was supposed to include unpacking and installing the beds and furniture. The 2 clowns needed help unloading after showing up hours late and spent half the time smoking cigarettes....total scam artists from Russia.

Warning!! Beware, do Not Use!!

BEWARE!! Read the entire review. DO NOT use this company. I have serious doubts about the good reviews that are listed because other places have nothing but terrible reviews about them.
Here’s my experience. Starting off, they showed up over an hour late. That should’ve been my warning sign but it was Sunday so I figured they were just moving slow. I was told over the phone when setting up the move, that there would be “additional items” that I could purchase such as plastic wrap, mattress bags, etc to protect my stuff. When the movers got there, they also gave me a form that had these, and several other, options of items to pick. I pick that I wanted to have 2 plastic mattress bags to protect my and my daughters mattress from getting dirty or damaged, at a cost of $20 each. I also asked about plastic wrap for my bedroom suite which was a very heavy and expensive set. The mover said no problem and went about his business.
As they were moving things out, I noticed that nothing was getting wrapped and the mattress were not in the bags and I asked. The mover then told me that they didn’t have any plastic wrap for the furniture. I asked about the mattress bags and he said he did not have those either but he was just going to lay a blanket on the floor of the truck to keep it from getting dirty. Never mind the fact that he WAS NOT going to tell me they didn’t have them and go head and charge me the amount for them anyway.
One of the movers kept constantly just standing around, checking his phone while his foreman was in the back of the truck. I later found out he was brand new. This guy also kept asking me what I was going to do with various items that they were moving, ie a PlayStation, a TV…he wanted me to give them to him. This same guy also asked me for food when we got to my house later.
After we got to the house that I was moving to and they opened the back of the truck I notice my stuff is all over the place like they had not strapped or tied it down at all. Needless to say, EVERY SINGLE PIECE of my furniture now has damage on it. I get when you move, there’s always going to be a few nicks and bumps, but there is some MAJOR damage to my stuff. I am not exaggerating at all when I say every single piece.
I told them I was not going to pay for the move until I talked to a supervisor. They called their boss who DID NOT want to talk to me at all. He told me “you have to pay and then file a claim Monday”. Their boss, not knowing that his guy had him on speaker, told his foreman to call the police if I didn’t pay. I should’ve not paid and let them take that action. For those of you out there that don’t know, don’t let some scumbag threaten you with this. The police WILL NOT get involved in a situation like this. I laughed at the guy and told his guys to go ahead and call them. They did not. To top it off, every time I would walk away, they were hitting on my 23 old daughter. Yeah, very professional. Not to mention it took them 6.5 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment where most of the boxes had already been moved!!
I did receive a call the next day from the guy that I had set this up with apologizing for the damage. He told me they were fully insured and to send my pics to an email and they would forward to their insurance company. There were over 40 different pics of damage to my furniture that were sent in. Now it has been over a week and not a single peep from them and no one answers their customer service line. I am now pursing this in small claims court.
Just a warning and if I can help anyone else not go through this, then that’s a plus for me.

Great service.

They showed up early to do a 2 bedroom move from 3rd floor to a new building with an elevator. 1 item was damaged but I was paid within 3 weeks. If not for that I'd give 5 stars. Thanks to Igor and Ivan for the excellent service. They really are 2 bears!!

The WORST Company!! SCAMMERS.

The worst company! be careful with them. I got a website for this company, I always spoke to a man named Carlos who kindly gave me my budget and coordinated the move at $ 75 an hour with no additional fees (according to him) on the day of the move, 2 people who spoke little English, and no Spanish. Very rude, they started to put things on the truck, they cover 2 TVs and 3 mattresses, they never told us that this had an additional charge. We went to the new house (10 minutes away) and upon arrival shows us the contract that I had already signed for $ 75 with additional information that the agreement on my signature that I did not authorize or was unaware, the amount rose from $ 225 to $ 1150 ( 475$ in package fee??) and they told us that if we didn't pay they wouldn't give us things. We tried to call the person who I hired and he blocked my phone, there was no way to communicate until I decided to call him from another phone and there he magically appeared and pick up the phone, he said he was going to try to solve and obviously that did not happen. We spoke with the supposed owner of the company who said "kindly" would give us a discount of $ 1,150 to $ 1,000 but that he would leave things at the entrance of the house. we had to pay because they had all our things, we pay until 3.45 pm and 3.10 pm they decided to leave. The police came but they couldn't do much and they shamelessly act as if nothing happened. These people cannot continue to scam customers, we must unite to go to the court!

Stay away. Literally the worst moving experience.

- The truck arrived 2h30 late with a false excuse

- The manager Michael answered my first call to apologize for being late then made up an excuse saying the truck had an issue with a tire and told me he was sending another team from Aventura.

- The truck driver locked the truck on arrival, leaving keys inside. another 15 min waste.

- The movers came with me for estimate but I had to tell them to take carts with them in order not to waste more time coming back down empty hands.

- The truck driver made me sign a contract adding fuel and driving time fees that were not supposed to be there ("no hidden fees, my friend"). I refused to sign and been asked to call their manager. This one no longer answered my calls. Time was running and I only could book our building elevator until 4 pm so decided to sign.

- We were 3 people helping out a couple of movers to bring down all the bulk stuff to the truck and in our own personal cars (SUV) so as to save time and make it in time.

- All our stuff was well prepared (50 boxes), furniture disassembled, nothing valuable (no packing or protection necessary), and we closed the truck's door at 2:14 pm (I still had to warn them about some furniture not attached properly inside..). As I walk to my car to lead the way, They tell me they had to stop at gas station on the way (seriously??). So I decided to go and wait for them at my new home (15 min away). Only 45 min they showed up, no explanation, no apologies.

- The truck driver asked me to pay full amount before they unload the truck. "new policy" they said. Again, I refused. He said, "call my manager". As he never answers anymore, I told them to have him call me. Which he did.

On the phone, I told Michael, "so you finally return my call..". In an angry voice he replied and shouted "No, I am calling you. You were bitching all day to have it done before 4 pm for your fu**ing elevator, and we made it in time! Now, pay your fu**ing bill!" Yes, indeed, all done before 4 pm, thanks to our own helpers. And if they weren't 2h30 late, it could be 1 pm at that time.

- As the manager hung up the phone without listening to me (he was talking over me), I was afraid the truck leaves with all my stuff so I called the police (local residence patrol).

In the meantime, being stuck with time, decided once again to pay, based on their estimate of unloading time.

After I signed, the truck driver (who was a very nice person, always calm and repeating it is not his company, he's just a mover), told me everything I needed to know:

> The team in charge of my moving were originally the team of Aventura since the beginning. There was no other team ever involved. They were late because of their previous client.

> Manager never answers the phone so the client has no other choice than paying (in 99% of the time).

> The contract I signed is perfectly illegal and I should never sign such a contract.

The movers unloaded the truck in 2h30 (longer than they estimated, I paid the extra time as tips to them (a little more, $50 each) and I highly recommended them to change company.

Note:

- Joe was a nice person doing my quote. Although never sent me the contract beforehand.

- Michael is the horrible horrible nasty manager.

My advice:

Stay away. Let this company die with no more customers and hopefully, those movers will be employed somewhere else.

Absolutely disgraceful how this company can exist.

Unprofessional

Dishonest

DO NOT consider them under any circumstances.

Their price is extremely misleading.

Customer service is non- existence.

Owner Mike places all blame on his drivers and neglects to settle issues.

Bait-and-switch Fraudulent Company - Ovoid like the Plague.

This business is a complete sham, uses a bait and switch tactic promising a low $75 flat rate, and then charges four times for as much. I received a quote to move a studio apartment from Parkland to Coral Springs (4 miles) for $225.00 (3 hours at $75.00 per hour) flat rate all inclusive. The apartment was already packed up and it took them only 3.5 hours to get everything to my house. Upon arrival I was presented with an invoice for $1,133.50 which did include the original estimate of 3.5 hours + another fee for 3.0 hours as apparently these 2 guys drove a huge moving truck all the way from Homestead FL for a 3 hour moving job. There was $479 in packing supplies and then some charges for actual packing and unpacking. On top of all these insane additional fees they want 10% credit card fees. That is extortion.

EXTORTION!!!!!! Beware !!!

Mover Holding Entire Home for Ransom

Two Man Movers LLC Extorting Customers By Holding Belongings For Ransom. Consumers Beware! Protect Yourself!

This company contacted me by getting my info from the Movers.com website. They called me 13 times until I answered. I should have known right there and then. They Loaded my entire 2 bedroom apartment onto their truck. They then pretended that their truck broke down and kept my items overnight. The next day they bring the truck to my storage facility and present me with a bill that is 3 times the amount agreed to. They then called the police as if I wouldn’t pay them and to cover their backs. What they didn’t realize is that the I knew the officers on scene and their Police chief as well. The Police would not accept their report but could not force them to off load because its a civil matter in Broward county. Police are powerless to force an unload. So in desperation the drivers left with all of my belongings. The owner of the company called me to tell me that he will not release my items until I paid up the extorted amount.

He also threatened to charge me $150 per day as he sits on it. These people are an unsavory group of criminals. They are extremely skilled at what they do. I will be exhausting my options as course of action including the state Attorrney, FDOT, and other agencies. If you encounter these people, RUN! Don’t wind up in my shoes. Covid has caused irreparable harm to me.This company is praying upon people at their most vulnerable time. This is the nail in my coffin.

LITERAL SCAM

I recently had my gallbladder out and would not be able to carry things for our move. After doing a price comparison of moving companies we decided to go with Two Men and a Truck (or what we thought was two men and a truck) as they are a reputable company and they originally quoted us at $75 an hour. In the original consult they said that we would ONLY be charged the $75 an hour for them to move our things and the time would not start until they arrived at the site, not from when they leave the truckyard. They estimated that based on the amount of stuff we told them that we had it should take about 3-4 hours total and that it would be $225-300. All of our stuff was packed in boxes and neatly placed in the leaving room for them to easily move. Upon arrival we noticed that the name on the truck was not the same as the company and when asking a mover about this they said that they have multiple trucks that do not have the name on it and they just get sent out with what is available. I was given a contract and asked to sign it after verifying the addresses were correct. Once we had everything packed and arrived at the new place we were presented with a bill of $2189 that needed to be payed before they continued. When explaining that we could not pay that much as none of us had that amount of money, as well as that was not what we were told the man told us that we would not be able to have our stuff back until we made that payment. He gave me the number of his manager to discuss the issues with. It should be noted that $1170 of this bill was for supplies that they use to UNECESSARILY wrap our furniture which we did not ask them to, nor did they ask us if we wanted them to. When speaking to the manager about this she said that I was wrong and that it is not their job to ask us if we want our things wrapped but it is our job to ask them not to. Luckily a family member was able to loan us the money so we could pay them and get our things back, to which they sat in the driveway for an hour during this process. My mother called the number of the manager to speak to her about the fact that A) We never consented to them wrapping our furniture and B) The company that was there was not the company that we hired. The lady then told my mom she was a psychopath and hung up. During the payment process the man demanded that he needed a picture of the credit card for "Verification" purposes. When saying we were uncomfortable with this he said that if we did not comply we could not have our things. During the unloading process the same man was on his phone the entire time, and after they left we found our coffee table hidden in the garage and broken. It should be noted that they are using a logo that looks almost the same as Two Men and a Truck so it is VERY misleading.

Way too much in Hidden fee’s

We found them on Movers.com, and they called us. They qouted us $99 per hour for three men. But what they don’t tell you (neither the guys doing the move and the sales person on the phone) that they charge you for any extra work and materials used. So a $600 quoted move, turned into a $1927. They also ask you to sign a blank paper before they start the moving process, that blank paper is where they write whatever they feel like to turn your quote into three times more than expected.

They’re not even in google maps, and that’s why they keep getting business. Because no one can rate them.

The truck was really old. Glad I only moved 5 streets down the block. Overall. The hidden fees they don’t tell you about is what made me write this. Do not use them , if you have the money , use a professional company company that is in google and can get reviews. Safe your self the headache and money.

BEWARE!! These are CRIMINALS!

This is a terrible company. They extort you. Don’t use them!

They will hold your belongings hostage. They told us one price and then asked for thousands more! Wouldn’t unload until we paid. Police can’t do anything due to it being a civil matter.

They also ran over our cement and block mailbox and broke it in half. They destroyed our neighbors lawn. To all this they said they will not pay to fix.

My experience moving within Boca Raton.

When the truck showed up, it picked up my home contents and moved them into my new apartment. They immediately pressured me into writing a review on they're own tablet and had me sign under pressure. I soon realized I was missing two lamps. I think they intentionally held back delivering them because when I finally got them to bring them up a week later, they were both damaged to the point of being worthless. They said they would re reimburse me $130 to purchase two lamps, but several weeks passed, as they passed me from one person to another within the company.
Long and short of it, they reneged on they're offer to make good on the damage they caused. I would stay clear of this company. Not only because of the reckless way they treat property, but the dishonesty, and that shady feeling you get when dealing with them.

They stole my bedroom set.

Today April 12, 2019 we bpught a bedroom set in Avetura on Offer Up. The delivery guys lied about the time they were there to pick uip. They tried to say it took 4hrs to take a king bed, 2 night stands a king mattress, a dresser and 2 lamps to disassemble and drive it to plantation. 4hrs!! Then tried to bully my wife into paying them $75.00 an hr on top of the verbal quote of $225.00 delivery fee that we were told. Then handed her a contract and told her to sign it or they were leaving. The driver became aggrassive with her. When we called the office the guy was confused. He asked how on earth does it take 4hrs to deliver a bedroom set. I believe this is a huge scam. This company left with my bedroom set. Basically stole it right out from under us. I called the cops and they could do nothing. Total B.S!!

This company is a scam.

I made a contract reservation with a rep. named Ivan receiving the price of the move; THE CUSTOMER REQUESTED AND "DOES NOT EXCEED THE APPOINTMENT PRICE" THAT WE ARE ESTABLISHING AT $ 1111.80. FINAL PRICE. IVAN 305-439-5166, and of course in the end, I payed more than 200 extra dollars. The workers never finished putting everything together as they said they would and they not only broke 4 pane windows of the China's cabinet, they also remained with some of our boxes. I called to speak with Ivan, and he told me to call the owner of the company and that I should not have paid more, but there is nothing he can do about it. Then I call the owner of this ""company" who told me that it is not his problem. I called the two Russian guys who made the move and after apologizing verbally and in writing, they told me they could not do anything, that other people had used the truck and broke the pane windows "by accident" left in the truck. Nobody is going to pay for the pane windows or return my two boxes! This is stealing! Please, never use this company if you do not want to be scammed.

Overcharge and late.

THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE YOU ALMOST DOUBLE WHAT THEY QUOTE YOU. I was originally quoted $833 for one bedroom set. I needed to move one bed frame, one dresser, and two night stands. They came late, (supposed to come between 10 and 11, showed up at 1), then didn't arrive to the second location until 7pm. Then they charged me over $1,100 and additionally took $120 through PayPal, after they tried arguing we owed them $1,400. I will never use this service again. If you're considering moving, don't use them. They're not affordable and not worth the headache.

Mover cleaned out my bank account - DO NOT USE!

Lesson learned, DO YOUR RESEARCH!
I had a small moving job that involved moving furniture between my mother’s home and my home. In checking prices, I ran across a website where you submit your information and the service sends your information out for qualified bids. In speaking with two of the bidders, I confirmed the bidding service used was Quote Runner.
Based on my communication with several bidding companies, I decided on A Couple of Movers for my job. Though based out of Hallandale Beach, their representative told me they had an Orlando office and a hub in Cocoa Beach.
The movers, two men, arrived on time and the move went as scheduled except for the fact that they would not unload the furniture until they were paid in full. This should have been my first warning sign that something was not right.
After the fact, I realized what transpired. While I was dealing with one of the movers regarding payment, the other mover searched my home, found my checkbook, stole checks, and within 24 hours, cleaned out my bank account.
I did a Google search using the mover’s name and as soon as I hit enter on the keypad, the mugshot of the mover that cleaned out my bank account popped up, stating he had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.
The police became involved and the detective handling the case contacted the A Couple of Movers directly. The Hallandale office manager quickly handed the phone to whom the detective was told was the owner. The owner proceeded to say they did NOT have an office in Orlando, contradicting the information given to me by their representative that reached out to me from the Quote Runner service. He claimed, at busy times they hire day laborers to supplement their moving team. He stated they do not conduct background checks on day laborers. The only issue with his statement is my move was not conducted using day labor help. I spent hours with the movers and we talked. When asked, one of the movers explained he had been working with the company for over two months and the felon was on his third week working for A Couple of Movers. He went on to explain that he was the “supervisor” for my move. We discussed work hours, company pros and cons, and more during the day. They were not day laborers.
At the end of the day, I was simply looking for a fair priced moving company and using the Quote Runner service, I did not think I needed to research the companies referred to me. This was my mistake and lesson learned. I now have been requested to do a photo line-up, a physical line-up upon his arrest, and if the case goes to court, I will have to testify. My main concern is the felon not only has my home address, he has the address of my 92-year-old mother, he knows where we live.
Please learn from my experience, do your research and DON’T HIRE A Couple of Movers from Hallandale Beach, Florida! Even if you use a search engine company, such as Quote Runner, don’t assume the companies being referred have been vetted. If I would have spent two minutes, I would have seen that A Coupe of Movers has a F rating from the Better Business Bureau and many one-star ratings from other customers on online review sites.

Fraudulent- stay away.

The entire experience was a nightmare, ending in the police being called. The sales department will misrepresent themselves and make promises.
The movers are aggressive, hostile, and very unprofessional. I was told I was being charged a higher rate that would be “all inclusive”. I verified that the day of with their office and told each of the movers I did not want additional material, that I was not paying more than the agreed upon “all inclusive” rate. At the end, I again spoke to their office and verified charges. The minute I hung up with them, the movers hunkered down in my house and demanded $700+in additional fees. The person I was communicating with in the office turned off his phone and suddenly I was stranded with 4 movers that were using intimidation to get the money. This was supposed to be a beautiful day for us and the entire company shifts blame from the sales department to the manager to the movers.
Stay away, they do not practice ethical business.

What a shame.

This is not the company to go with. They get your hopes up with a super low quote and by the end it is double the price. They sent two scrawny men who are not physically capable of completing such a job. They were slow, took their time eating in our dime, and then demanded a tip in the end. They deliberately take their time to charge you more money. In the end as part of our payment a $50 bill was included and they said they did not have change. This was a scam. An extra $40 was given on top of a poor job for no reason. Please do not waste your money on this company!

Worst experience.. Scammers and fraud!

The company communicates with us after entering our telephone number to a website for a quote, Carlos the telephone operator offered us USD95 per hour, for 3 people, the additional hours would cost an additional USD95 per hour.

This price supposedly included everything, disassembly and assembly of some furniture, and protection with furniture blankets. If however the day of the move came 3 drunk guys, they are 3 Russians of which only one speaks English therefore it is impossible to communicate with them. A different contract appeared at this time where they added an additional hour for USD95 transfer and in addition to USD65 for fuel charges.

We tried to communicate with Carlos who simply disappeared and did not answer any of our calls or messages. As you are scheduled for that day with the move you are forced to sign these additional costs, otherwise you will be left without making your move.

Finally, we started moving, but when we arrived at the destination, before moving the furniture from the truck, they began to recalculate the costs and added an additional cost of USD400 to cover the furniture with the blankets and 25 rolls of adhesive tape, however we insist that Quote included all costs.

Our price of USD700 became another of USD1,100. Then we tried again to communicate with Carlos, who definitely disappeared.

We had to negotiate, the situation was very tense and unpleasant and they proposed to lower the cost to 1,000 .. they adjusted the billing for the USD700 company and proposed us to pay USD300 as tips for them. They insisted that either we took the original cost of 1,100 or the new cost of 1,000, we tried to lower the cost and negotiate but it was impossible, we were in this one hour, until you have to accept forced because otherwise they would not leave the furniture in the Department. We wanted to end the bad time we agreed and we had to pay US700 with credit card and USD300 in cash as tips for them, if they did not agree they would not do the job.

Finally they finished the work quickly and damaged some furnitures, they even left some of our boxes in the hall outside our apartment.

Without doubt the worst experience working with drunk and scammers.

The company and its telephone contact disappear and you remain without the possibility of claims.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTRACT A COUPLE OF MOVERS!

SCAMMERS - Post everywhere.

Read the other reviews, scammers over an hour late, charged me 5 hours plus gas and travel said they don't go by the quote. When asked to speak to manager they refused so when I said I would not pay until I spoke to a manager, driver started telling me about he's been working for the company for 2 months and they haven't paid him so we need to pay him directly by Zelle or cash. I told them I want to confirm with a manager and still refused. Issue is when I tried to call the company to inform them, someone answers the phone and after I start speaking they hung up. I kept the quote and text messages of their lies and working with my bank to get my money back. Oh forgot to mention, they didn't even move everything, they said the were only told part of the move so they will charge more for the 3rd bedroom.

Unethical Is A Compliment For These Thieves.

We hired this company to move a one bedroom apartment for our son. Joe told us that it was 75/hr with a minimum of 3 hours. After they showed up and loaded truck and moved the furniture 3 miles, they would not unload until we paid them $1260.00. The extra was for the "packing" that we did not request. The "packing" consisted of wrapping 4 pieces of furniture with plastic. Also, they charged $120.00 for fuel and transportation of 3 miles. None of these charges where ever communicated up front. After arguing with them for 30 minutes and having the owner of the company hang up on me, I told them to take $1000.00 or it was going to get ugly fast. I just wanted them out of there. I have never seen anything as unethical and sketchy as this group. The saddest part was the young man that was probably 17 was the communicator and was so nasty. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Just hire someone to help you move in a rental can.

I thought I had Big Movers outsmarted. Every time I’ve used a moving company, it has been overpriced, items damaged, and a headache. This time I’ve moved all but 7 bulk items locally myself. As other reviewers, I was quoted $75/hr. With the later 3 hour minimum that I was informed mid-move, it should have been $225. In true moving company fashion, they waited until all my stuff was on the truck and at my new place before giving me my total with an amount that was double that included the classic hidden fees that were not discussed during the suave initial phone consultation. There was also a 5.5% charge for a credit card. I was not informed of this to have cash ready beforehand. So I paid $60 per item for only 7 items to be moved.

I also selected this company because they brought up on their own that the movers would have face masks and gloves. I’m an immunocompromised person that had to move during a pandemic. No gloves were worn (not practical anyways). The masks were not worn properly and only for the first part of the move. I had to ask them to wear them to unload. I was sweating too under my mask.

‼️ s c a m m e r s ‼️.

This company seemed to have been the right move (no pun intended), until it wasn’t.. Carlos quoted my mom a specific price and also stated that there would be no additional costs such as travel fees. It took the movers an unbelievable amount of time to disassemble furniture and load it onto the truck, and to add insult to injury, when we got to the storage unit almost 20minutes away from the house we were moving from, the movers realized they left their tools and my BROTHER had to go back for them.. wasting time they charged my mom for! To make it worse, we get to the new house and they tell my mom a price DOUBLED what was agreed upon with Carlos and held our stuff hostage until it was paid. Carlos magically disappeared and wouldn’t answer our calls (how convenient). And on top of the doubled fees, they tried to charge a 5.5% fee for using a card. A fee that one of the officers present (we called the cops who couldn’t help because this scam is common) said was ILLEGAL to charge because the company itself already pays for that fee. My mom is sick and was already stressed about the move, and this terrible company only made it worse! 0/10, would NOT recommend.
