495 Movers

We were planning a move, and quality was more important than price. We did not want our precious things hurt in the move.

Our move was local, but in two stages. In the first stage of our move, we planned to pack-up and move some of our stuff and store it while selling our current house. The second stage comes after we buy a new house, and we will want to move all our stuff to the new house. In the second stage we plan on packing up and moving the rest of our stuff from our old house plus moving the stuff that was stored by 495 Movers.

In the first stage, we had a very positive experience with the initial pack-up and move. Leo, the supervisor of the packing and moving team, paid attention to our desires and communicated those desires to his team. In the packing, we were so impressed by how quickly and pleasantly his team worked, but also how carefully they packed all our precious possessions, with the same care that they might if those had been their own possessions.

We look forward to the second stage of our move going as positively as the first stage.

The 495 Movers Team was on time, and worked well and closely as a choreographed team. They were efficient and very careful with every lift and box/item move. They achieved a zero damage move day. The move team completed my local move ahead of time expectations. I also appreciated the pre-move coordination and guidance from the pre-move estimator; and, the detailed explanation of what to expect and how I could be better prepared for the big day. I cannot say enough how excellent my move with 495 movers went this past weekend. The team was professional from the moment we spoke on the phone to the moment the movers arrived. The estimate was exact to the hour the pricing was upfront with no hidden costs. I completed my inventory as requested and later added an additional storage unit and 495 movers was able to accommodate me. The team came prepared with tools, extra boxes, and packing supplies. They quickly broke down furniture and handled all my items with care. In addition they remained focused throughout the job and ensured that all of my items were set up correctly and in my desired location. I could not have asked for better movers. I highly recommend 495 movers and would use them again for my moving needs.

We hired 495 Movers for a local move, about 3mi away. First, When the estimate came in and 22 hours, 5 movers, 2 trucks over 2 days, we thought no way. But indeed the estimate was spot on. 2ndly, all 5 busted their backsides across all 22 hours, they did so over approx 750 moving boxes and some heavy furniture and appliances. The only reason we are not giving them 5 stars, one of the movers stepped through our garage ceiling and didn’t tell us about it, which admittedly struck us as odd because they were so professional. The main office has been ultra-responsive and we strongly recommend 495!

I have made over 15 moves in my life, including many to and from foreign countries as a foreign service officer and as a private citizen. This last pack out in Virginia and delivery in Florida of half of our furniture and household effects by 495 movers was one of the best. It only took 3 hours at each end to complete the move, and was done very professionally by pleasant crews. Driver Milton Contreras actually delivered my shipment a day earlier than promised and efficiently unpacked and hauled the packing materials. His friendly demeanor made this a most pleasant experience, and the cost stayed exactly as estimated by 495 movers. If you are in the DC capital area, 495 is definitely reliable, trustworthy and highly recommended.

I cannot say enough good things about 495 movers. We have used them twice and both times were great experiences. They always arrive early. They are very professional and they will treat your items better than you would! On our last move, we relocated about 800 miles away. Milton and Gabriel were tasked with getting our items from VA to AL. They called the night before they arrived and then again when they were 30 minutes away. It rained the entire time and I never once heard any complaining. Again, truly professional staff and amazing company to work with. I would recommend them to any family or friends whether you are moving locally or long distance. 10/10 service & care from start to finish.

I moved from DC to MA this winter and 495 Movers were absolutely amazing. From the first call, to home visit, to the delivery everything was well communicated.

The guys who came to pick up my stuff had estimated about 3-4 hours, they did it in 2 hours (in & out). Mind you I had packed most items but still, they were efficient and they knew what they were doing. At times I even felt dizzy watching them.

I moved across states and got lucky on the delivery timeframe. Everything came intact. 2 of the 4 original crew-members were delivering so it was great seeing them again. They unloaded within 1 hour (I had most things in boxes to be stored). Seriously it was great service.

My final bill was a little over their estimate but not much at all (less than $100), so even their estimate was accurate.

It might seem expensive but for the service they provided I was very happy and everything went smoothly. I was willing to pay $$$ so I do not have to carry a box and they did just exactly that.

I was referred to them by a friend so I would happily recommend them to anyone looking to move in and around DC area.

Everything from getting a free quote with Talya, to confirming all of the steps for my move with Autumn, to picking up boxes and packing supplies with Isaac, to moving with Omar and Milton - everything was smooth and efficient and all staff were kind, great communicators, and helped ensure I had the most pleasant experience. 459 Movers has the best pricing in the area for local moving and storage (and I had quoted three other places and their pricing didn't come close to 495's). Everything was amazing, there were no hidden fees or surprises the day of my move and I felt taken care of, along with all my belongings, every step of the way. Next time I need moving, I'm calling them directly! 100% recommend!!!

495 Movers moved my mom into my home in LaPlata on the 24th of April 2023. She's 85 years old and never experienced a moving company. She was amazed at how 495 Movers handled her furniture. They wrapped it (what a surprise), re-packed and secured her boxed items. Once 495 Movers unloaded the truck in LaPlata, that was exciting for her. 495 Movers placed everything with no problem where she wanted it. Of course I was not surprised because 495 Movers was recommended by a friend of mine in 2021. I used them to move furniture from my home in Upper Marlboro to storage in White Plains and once my home was completed in LaPlata, they moved my furniture there. Everything was seamless. NO DRAMA! I would use them to move to planet Mars....LOL!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!...if I could give them a TRILLION STARS I would.

495 Movers was great in all aspects. They moved my daughter from Silver Spring, MD to Capitol Hill area of DC. From the first call to completing the move, it was first rate. Office staff was most helpful in setting things up. I stopped at their warehouse location two days before and met Isaac, the General Mgr. I guess he could tell I was getting pretty stressed out. Helped me get all the materials I needed (which were included in the price) and was most reassuring. On the day of the move Gustavo and his colleagues arrived right on time and handled everything perfectly. Great work!

I'm a repeat customer thrilled with another perfect move!! Milton (Foreman) and Milton could not have been nicer, faster, or more professional. No detail was overlooked - I was going to move my many unboxed files in my office closet myself but they said not a problem! They set everything up perfectly and even took down the things from the wall I had yet to do - this is the type of care that distinguishes 495 Movers from all the rest!! I cannot recommend Milton & Milton more highly, have helped me so much.

My experience with 495 Movers exceeded my expectations! The window was given between 8-9am for arrival to my storage units. The two gentlemen arrived exactly at 8am in what was a Torrential Rain and wind storm. They arrived at our home, 2 and half hours away promptly, despite the horrendous weather. They stacked our boxes neatly in our garage and even supplied extra boxes for some of our loose items and securely taped them up. The job was estimated to take 9 hours total including travel time and they were almost exactly 9 hours. No over charge. Wow! Is all I can say. We had other deliveries scheduled that day and the company canceled due to the bad weather. Not 495 Movers. They even had to drive over the Bay Bridge with high winds and downpouring rain.

My coworker and friend had referred me to 495 Movers and told me I would not be disappointed. She was so right!

My experience with 495 Movers was extraordinary from beginning to end. I moved twice in one year! The first moving team was very professional and courteous. My belongings were moved to their (495) storage facility, which was very clean, temperature controlled. Amazing!

6 months later another moving team was assigned to move my belongings to my new residence. For both moves I dealt with Dean. He was very upfront and transparent about the costs and told me I could stop by the next day to pick up packing materials (which there are no additional costs — all included!). I went several times to pick up moving boxes, wrapping paper, tape etc. On the second move I had Milton Contreras (Foreman) and his helpers Omar and Randolph. What a great team!! Very professional, they were AMAZING!!!I loved working with them. They were kind, funny, thorough and had an amazing attitude. I would recommend 495 movers to anyone and highly recommend Milton and crew. Thanks everyone!!!

The beginning to end was well organized by Dean. Milton and his men did a great job packing most things. The younger men that didn’t speak English didn’t understand me when I told them not to pack certain items. Unfortunately they packed things that had to be returned to buyer. Also Comcast boxes were packed away. This will cause a fee if I don’t get them returned. Fortunately when I got here we found the large Comcast receiver to return.

My tip to management would be to give employees a class on communication with their clients to completely understand their instructions.

Everything else went well as planned, they were very friendly and courteous.They arrived right on time. Boxes, paper packing and tape included free. I would highly recommend them to my friends or anyone asking for referral.

This was my third state to state and hands down my BEST one due to 495 Movers. The ENTIRE went smoothly from start to finish. Starting with Josh who was a pleasure to work with. He was straightforward with everything and truly focused on making my move as easy as possible. The price he quoted me was exactly the same the day of the move. Compared to other movers it was way more reasonable. Plus 495 Movers gives unlimited packing boxes and paper (you pick up at there warehouse) which was another big savings.

One of the biggest help was them packing my entire kitchen which was going to be a lot of me due to the short time frame of needing to move. Unfortunately, I don't recall the gentleman's name but he did a PHENOMENAL job packing my kitchen especially my delicate items that's been in the family for years.

The day of the move, to my pleasant surprise, five men showed up. Josh certainly sent his A team cause Walter, Edwin, Efri, Cesar, and Edwin (there's was two of them) came ready to work and worked hard non stop until the move was done and they finished couple hours ahead of schedule. They were true professionals and EVERYONE handled ALL my items with care. They also packed the 26ft truck well. They were several items I was suppose to pack myself but circumstances didn't allow me to have it done before the move. I was going to do it while they were moving.They told me don't worry about it. They packed and got it on the truck.

Victor and David arrived promptly at 8 a.m. with a friendly greeting and smile there face the scheduled day for unloading. Both unloaded the truck putting all my items exactly where they belong and made sure I was satisfied. My fridge was too big to get through the doorway. Josh and Victor didn't stop trying to figure out a way until they got it inside. They had to disassemble all the doors and put it back together. They never complained or acted as if it was a bother. Even with this challenge and assembling my other furniture Josh and Victor also finished ahead of schedule.

All the guys are AMAZING!!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I HIGHLY recommend 495 movers for all your moving and/or packing needs. I can't say enough about them.

Truth be told I so wish they were in my new state as I need them again when I move into my permanent home. I'm still trying to figure how I can possible give

Our experience with 495 Movers was outstanding from the moment I called for an estimate to when they left our condo after the move was complete. Every member of the staff was friendly and professional in their interactions with us. They provided us with moving supplies and checked with us several times (via emails and phone calls) on if we needed anything. On move day, the movers were on time, packed the truck in an efficient manor, unloaded the truck quickly, and put everything where we wanted it. We highly recommend them.

Setting this up was easy; Jacob was very informative and answered all my questions. I appreciated his calling me the day before the move to confirm.

The movers did a great job. The were quick and efficient, and made sure to protect my stuff. The only issue is that they arrived an hour later than I expected. They did call me after they were 20 minutes late. But considering their great work with my move, I can easily overlook the tardiness.

I highly recommend 495 movers to anyone who wants a reasonably-priced, professional and low-stress move. I will definitely use them in my future relocations.
