495 Movers

495 has been an excellent moving company. They helped move my wife from one condo to another ( I am currently out of state). I called with very short notice and Jacob was able to make this move happen. He was upfront and answered all of my questions. The movers showed up on time and they were very nice to my wife and did a great job!! They did not mess around and try to milk the clock. They were fast and effecient. My wife was very pleased!! A happy wife makes for a happy home =).

Moving interstate is so stressful and finding the right movers can alleviate a lot of that stress and John at 495Movers did just that!  From the moment our phone conversation began I knew I was in excellent hands!  I was coordinating the move by phone from my home in Florida for my son who was moving from dc to New York.  This move had to be done all in one day!  The day of the move three men showed up and took right over wrapping all his furniture as they went about removing all of his belongings!  They left at 11am to start their drive to New York City and 4 1/2 hours later they met us at the New York apartment! We literally had just arrived after taking a plane from dc to meet them!  The move in went just as smoothly as before and unfortunately for the movers they had to bring it all in to a two story walk up in 90 degree weather! These three men were amazing! Not a single thing was damaged all of his breakables were in perfect condition!  I cannot say enough about this company from my first call with John to our experience with Jose and his men on the day of the move!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone!  I could not wait to call John at 495Movers and express my gratitude as soon as the movers walked out the door!  As stressful as the day was for us trying to get from dc to NY City to meet the movers we knew the furniture was in good hands! Thank you for an incredible move!

I found 495 Movers by reading reviews on several different mover review sites. 495 Movers got consistently good reviews. Their representative, Jacob Kuhn, started educating us about moving from when we first called to ask for a quote visit.
Jacob told us what we needed to do and what 495 Movers would do and everything happened exactly that way. There were no surprises; the packing and delivery crews are professional, hard working, courteous and thorough. The packing crew packed everything, and with care and ensurance that all items would be in the same condition when they arrived. Since we had no house to move to when we left Maryland Jacob gave us plenty of storage time so we would be able to find a house. Once we did, 495 Movers got our stuff to us promptly,  The delivery crew was as professional, hard working, courteous and thorough as the as the packing crew.
495 Movers uses a fixed price model which enables you to budget. Other moving companies started with lower initial quotes, but left delivery and packing costs open, so you can never be sure of how much you will end up paying.

It was an amazing experience to work with 495 Movers. Extremely professional and courteous. Having to interact with only one agent (John) for the entire move was great. The crew arrived on time, packed everything extremely well. The drop-off was right on time and in excellent condition. Prior to my move, having researched different companies I became more and more concerned about shipping my belongings, but after having found 495 movers and having read their reviews and the Better Business Bureau ranking I was more confident to have my items be delivered from coast to coast by 495 movers. Now after having actually worked with 495 movers I am so happy and thrilled to have chosen this company over any other company to handle my move. I can only thank John and his entire crew to making my move such a pleasant and relaxing experience. Thank you!!

I found 495 Movers after searching the web and reading reviews.  They had ample reviews stating how satisfied their customer's were with the service they provided.  After contacting them I got a call from their customer rep John.   We had a good conversation about what I needed done and he gave me some premliminary estimates that sounded in line with what I was expecting afterwhich he offered to do a walk through of my home with the owner.   They both came to my house at the agreed to time and did a visual survey of my belongings.   Both of them were very friendly and professional.  After the survey they changed their initail plan from sending one truck to sending two trucks.  I am so happy they did that because they used every bit of the space in both trucks.    After the estimate and I paid the deposit John followed up with me multiple times which gave me a great deal of comfor because my timing was planned out and depended on them being their.  I won't take too much more time but will leave you with that when John called me after my move to follow up I had nothing but great things to say.   Short Version: On Time, Friendly, Wearing a uniform color, Nothing Broken, No Scratches on the walls, Stayed until the job was done, helped me with any requests, Followed up and followed through, Finished well under the estimated cost!! This is the moving experience you want.. I wouldn't waste my time reviewing any company that didn't blow me away.  I am very happy!  They are a greeat choice and I will recommend them to others.    .

My moving experience was fantastic! I had called the morning of the move after a holiday to see if they were available to help move me from southern MD to northern VA (it was the only time I had available). Even though they were late getting there, it was to be expected considering the timing of traffic. The team that helped move me was wonderful! They were friendly, polite hard workers. I appreciated their expediency and we completed everything within the allotted time I had hoped to be all moved in. They were great and I will definitely be using them again since I am moving back up to MD shortly.

I used 495 Movers to relocate from Baltimore, Maryland to San Diego, California in the summer of 2013. A cross-country move like this is stressful under the best circumstances, and 495 Movers made it an even worse experience. Several boxes and a set of shelves were lost (or stolen), their contract employees that delivered my belongings were rude bullies, and the management/contacts at 495 Movers were dismissive and rude once they had my money.      
On initially contacting Jacob at 495 Movers in June of 2013, he was very helpful and understanding in helping to plan my move. They offered a comparable estimate for moving my two-bedroom apartment across country. The movers who arrived to pack and load my belongings were also very polite and competent. Basically: when 495 Movers still wants your money and your business, they will go the extra mile to make you feel safe and comfortable. This treatment will change once they have your belongings and you are under contract.      
Upon delivery of my belongings in San Diego, the subcontractors were rude and dismissive. At first they refused to unload the truck without additional cash paid directly to them, because my new apartment was set back from the street and behind another building. This situation had been made very clear by me BEFORE delivery was attempted, or even scheduled, and was within the maximum distance as noted on my contract. The subcontractors ultimately agreed, after they failed to shake me down for more cash. They remained very loud, rude and aggressive throughout the unloading process, and when I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers directly, during the delivery, he said only that he was “sorry for the inconvenience.”      
The aggressive nature of these subcontractors caused me to make a very serious mistake: I failed to account for every box on the checklist as it was being delivered. I felt bullied and intimidated by the movers, and I felt like Jacob at 495 Movers was no longer my ally in this process. After the movers left, with my apartment in disarray, I realized that two boxes of comic books were not present, and that a set of four shelves from a cabinet were also missing. The comic books valued more than $200, and the missing shelves made the cabinet unusable.      
I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers about the missing items, and he sent a terse email directing me to CSI, where I could make a claim and seek damages. My claims were denied in total, because it was my responsibility to note the missing items upon delivery.      
This is all very legal. 495 Movers has acted within the bounds of our contract. But my items are still missing -- comic books with monetary and sentimental value, and a set of shelves -- and 495 Movers will no doubt continue to treat customers with dismissive disdain once money has changed hands, and will most likely continue to employ subcontractors that care nothing for the objects being delivered, or for the customers already undergoing a stressful moving experience.      
495 Movers, their employee Jacob Kuhn, and the subcontractors who delivered most but not all of my possessions, let me down and ignored me when I sought a resolution. Potential movers: they are interested solely in your money, and not your peace of mind. Do NOT employ 495 Movers, and know that while they might treat you with respect at the beginning of your move, once they have been paid, you will no longer be a concern of theirs.      
I repeat: do not use 495 Movers for your relocation, local or cross-country. They’re dismissive and rude, at best. They will carefully pack and take your things away; what happens after that, only you are concerned with.  .

I moved from a high-rise apartment to a similar apartment in downtown Silver Spring, MD. The 3 gentlemen who moved my possessions were professional, courteous, and worked steadily. They continued to work hard until the job was done. Everything arrived in good condition and in a timely manner.  This was a one-bedroom move and they arrived a little after 9am and finished up around 3pm.   All my furniture was wrapped in protective padding and shrink wrap before the move.  They even helped with dismantling the bed and table and assembled them in new home.
When we arrived in my new home, the loading dock was in a separate area further away from the apartment.  I felt bad that the guys had to trudge back and forth all that distance.  But they told me to stay inside in my new home and that they will take care of my belongings.  And they did.  I packed most of my belongings in numerous large boxes which were quite heavy and they moved them without any problems.  As for the cost, I felt that the cost was reasonable.  They also asked for 10% to 15% gratuity which I agreed to pay.  All in all, I was very satisfied with their moving service.
