Local move within Texas

Late, rude, and racist.

When you hire a moving company, you are paying for an easier moving experience than if you had to do it yourself.
Well this was not the case
They were late, rude, and racist!

They would't even put on shoe covers that I supplied for them unless I provided an additional $300, because the movers say they did not have enough time to put them on. I just merely did not want any dirt tracked in the new home and they were adamant about not wearing them unless I paid that horrendous amount. So my mother was becoming unhappy and the mover assumed she was saying bad words about him. He said, I know what she's saying because I know Japanese!!" I told the mover, "We are not Japanese.." He replied, "then what are you.." and I shook my head after because he crossed the line.

I am never ever hiring this company and I would STRONGLY DO NOT recommend anyone hiring them.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

It is a nightmare.

If you are using this company for moving, be sure you have detail records of your cu. ft volume or they would try to overstate the volume and scam for more moving cost. This person came back after loading all our household items into the truck and claim that the my load was 967 cu. ft. as shown in the estimated attached. After I protest the number and showed him my records of all the boxes, he went out for a few minutes, without doing another measurement and came back to agree on the original estimated quoted load volume which I strongly believe was still over than what it actually was. The difference would have been an over billed $673.20. Anyway, they would take any chance to over charge you, so be sure of knowing your load volume! It also took them 31 days from date of pick up to delivery. It is a total diaster! The salesman sold you on fast delivery, 3-14 business days transition time, but don't count on it, especially you are doing long distance interstate moving. They have to fill that 18 wheeler, no regard to people waiting on the other end without any of their household items. To top it all, my piano leg broke despite paying extra handling. Who knows how they handle your expensive item! They might stack boxes and others on top of the piano to make that extra dollar!  .

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Great Movers.

I recently used 24 Hours Moving to move from Texas to Florida. The movers arrived perfectly on time, which was important because I had a small window of time before I was leaving.

The movers were professional, polite, and friendly. Despite the heat, terrible humidity, and heavy boxes the guys worked quickly, but carefully to get the job done. Everything arrived in one piece and undamaged.

I am a happy camper- except for all those boxes that I now have to unpack. But in all seriousness,  I am satisfied with 24 Hours Moving and their ability move all my heavy crap.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

Charged more than actual.

While signing the contract with 24 hours they didn't mention anything in detail about the first flight. Later while picking up they are saying first flight means only 7 steps oh. Is there anywhere first floor having only 7 steps. What a logic. More than each 7steps they are charging 75 extra?? And packing they are charging extra everywhere everywhere everywhere everywhere everywhere everywhere they are charging extra. At last, they are charging 500 to $600 extra. Don't we know how much cubic feet? They will tell one number we have to pay. The same thing while delivering also.Don't believe the initial number which they are committed to shipping. Add minimum 500 to 600 extra upon that charge. Remember while pick up u need sign hell of paperwork, you will not know what they are charging for what extra. Finally don't ever believe initial estimate. They will park the truck purposely little longer than your place and ask extra money for long carry.   .

Official company response

Mr. Ramesh,
We would like to properly answer your complaint and provide our answer as well.
Prior to reservation with our company our sales rep had explained to you that anything over 2 flight of stairs on moving day (14 steps) will be charged at $75.00 which you understood and had a long conversation with your sales rep, you also agreed and sign prior to booking with our company understanding the terms and conditions and polices for our company. the extra charges came from extra labor that needs to be preformed going up 3 flights of stairs with items which takes longer and such services are not included, these are set fees for most moving companies nation wide.
As fare as long carry we do provide the first 75 feet for free and every 75 feet after that will be charged at $75.00 which in your case you did have 1 long carry which we discounted and charged only $50.00, you also had 3 flights of stairs which we did not charge you for so you did receive a $100.00 discount for your extra service that you were aware and agreed prior to even reserving with our company. We pulled up your final contract and your first initial estimate that was provided to you over the phone, the phone quoted price was $1250.00 and you ended paying an additional of $181.00 totaling your shipment to $1431.00, the extra fees came from extra boxes you had added that were not on your original estimate and extra packing that was used to protect your items so they will not get damaged through the process, the packing cost you and again was discounted from $114.00 down to $56.00, an addition to that discount you received 4 free boxes from our company which we packed for you free of charge as well.

24 Hours inc is legally obligated to have you sign all documents that are provided to us by the D.O.T laws and regulations we know that it is an inconvenience and there are many of them to sign on moving day but that is out of our hands, in order for us to stay legal these documents are a must.
Our company had provided many discounts to satisfy you as a customer through the entire moving process we believe that we did everything possible to keep extra cost at a minimal for you but we are not able to provide free
Services for each extra cost that you incurred, we though we did our best to accommodate you every way possible.

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Massachusetts

Late, unprofessional and money hungry.

Bad experience overall with this moving company 24 Hours Moving Inc from Dallas. Received a call from their sales person Sharon after I filled out an online form. The quote she gave me over the phone was around 1300. It was considerably less than the other movers (the reason the sales person quoted was because they were local movers & hence charged less). The movers came on time and since I had packed everything the move was quick. That is where the ordeal begins. The pick up guy mentioned that since the distance from the door to truck was over 50 feet they will charge additional 150 dollars. They put up everything in the truck and then mentioned that I will have to pay additional 40 dollars for because the volume is more. They had nothing to measure the overall volume occupied. Since they had put all the stuff in the truck, I had no choice but to pay it. The delivery men expected a heavy tip. The deliver time I was told by the company was 7-10 days. Again they insisted that it would reach in time because they do interstate moves from Dallas all the time. When my belongings didn't show up after 2 weeks, I called them up and they said the truck has just left and it should be there soon. They had me talk to the truck driver instead of following up with him directly. As a customer it is not my responsibility what the truck driver is doing. Anyhow, the stuff finally arrived after 21 days. Once the truck driver arrived, he immediately mentioned that the distance from truck to apartment is over 50 feet and he would charge additional $150 dollars. I told him if you can measure it for me I won't hesitate in paying it. The guy did not have any equipment to measure the distance. Instead he started measuring by counting his steps. I told him again that this is not acceptable since this won't be accurate. He said you can call the company directly. I talked to the owner o the company and instead of admitting his mistake of driver not carrying the measuring tape, he started insisting that his drivers have been doing it for years and they know how to measure by steps. Most unprofessional thing I have ever heard in my life. The guys would not unload the stuff to my house unless they had the money in their hands. Simply unacceptable. FInally I had to get my own tape and measured personally in the cold Boston weather the distance from the truck to the apartment. I honestly didn't sign up for this. Even after all this ordeal, the men expected a tip of some kind.Being out of cash, I instead offered them coffee personally. Overall I ended up paying apprx 350 dollars over their inital quote and had to deal with their ridiculous service. My advice, stay away from them and rather hire a well known company who atleast don't rip you off after inital promises.    .

Official company response

Mr. Abhishek,
First off I wanted to say thank you for using 24 hours Moving Inc, we sincerely appreciate your business. I am sorry to hear that you had a less than satisfactory move with us, as we strive for customer satisfaction from beginning to end. I have pulled your contract and have personally gone over all of your charges and see where you were charged $75 for a long carry at the pick up location, not the $150 you stated, as well as 30 cubic feet additional space because you did have additional items. At the destination you were charged $150 for 315 foot long carry instead of the listed price of $275. Unfortunately we cannot predict long carries unless the customer specifically tells us, which is hard for most customers since they either don’t have an exact destination when they book their move, or are unfamiliar with the location. Per our binding estimate that you, and all of our customers, signed before the move we do have listed any additional charges that may apply. As you can see these are NOT hidden charges, but unpredictable fees and we strive really hard to be as fair with our prices as possible, and work with our customers, as you can see we did in the long carry at destination, we waived $125 in fees. Most customers do not have these charges and we wouldn’t know until we get to the pickup or delivery location the exact distance from your door to the truck, that is why we do not have them included into the original pricing. I would be more than happy to send you a copy of any of these forms that you signed and acknowledged before the pickup with pricing and additional fee information. As with every moving company we do charge you for the space your items take up on the truck, unlike other companies we only charge you the rate per cubic ft on your original estimate, with no penalties. This is also clearly stated on the binding estimate. Once again I do want to apologize any inconvenience and misunderstanding.
Please feel free to call our office if I can clarify anything further for you, or if you have any other questions or comments and ask for Sindy.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

Would not recommend under any circumstances.

What started out as a fairly professional quote, turned into a very costly event. The final cost was $450 over and above the original quote. You can email me and I'll give you all the details. I won't waste any more time on this company. Suffice to say that you will not be treated well after you've made a substantial deposit. After that, they have your belongings. And with that leverage, they make sure that you pay much more than the original quote.   .

Service cost: $1400

Official company response

Tom,

We apologize if the company miss treated you in any way possible and we did want to clarify and also respond to your complaint as we think that its only fair that future customer hear both sides of the story.

On moving day after the crew arrived and evaluated the amount of stuff on the original quote and amount of stuff in your daughters apartment it was brought to our attention that she wanted to add a few more smaller items to her original estimate, there was a small price adjustment for an additional of $126.60.

Upon reservation our sales representative had went over any kind of extra charges that can be added at the time of delivery for example if access will be denied with a semi truck or should we need to use more then 1 flight of stairs at delivery or if there will be a walking distance of more then 50 feet from where the truck is parked to your daughters apartment. In addition all paper work prior to moving with the company were provided and signed by you understanding and agreeing for the terms and condition of the company.

Once our movers arrived to deliver the items they had 2 options that they were able to utilize to attempt delivery and they did chose the fastest and most inexpensive option to your benefit.

The first option at delivery was to walk from across the street walk about 100 feet to 1 flight of stairs then take the elevator and have another 150 feet and then arrive at the apartment based on our contract the fees where spouse to be $300.00.

The second option was to again park across the street go from the back of the building which is a walking distance of 150 feet from were the truck was parked then go up 4 flight of stairs and again another 50 feet of walking distance finally arriving to the apartment, Also there was a problem with the door we were not allowed to leave it open all this time walking back and forth because it was just an exit door and the management did not allow us to leave it open for the security of other tents. This option would have cost your daughter $450.00 due to so many stairs and such a long walking distance.

Even though our contract stated these fees WE DID NOT CHARGE THEM you were charged only $150.00 for the first option which is half then what we are spouse to charge you.

The total amount of charges exceeding the original quote is $276.60 we think that we did everything in our power to reduce and save you as much money as possible and keep you within budget,

Please feel free to contact us back at anytime if you have any further questions or you would like to discuss this matter further we would always be more than happy to try to resolve this issue with you directly.

Thank You,

24 Hours Moving Inc.

Long-distance move from Texas to North Carolina

Very much Disappointed move.

I would never recommend this movers to anyone. These people make lots of promises during the reservation of the move, but none of them is fulfilled.
They have all hidden charges and various sub points which are written in small letters / font. They charged me $300 more at the time of delivery, just because of 1 flight of stairs.  TO BE specific, $10 for 1 stair.
"Where in the world do we have 1 flight = 7 steps ?? " This is not possible in any Civil Engg. construction. They charged me for every extra stair. It was crazy.
Drivers was very rude and arrogant. Had lot of attitude.
During the delivery for my stuff, I got to talk to Supervisor of 24 hours moving inc company. He was very rude too and was trying to prove me dishonest.
"Never ever believe 24 hrs moving's words over the phone, ask them in writing what ever they say". They usually lie after we make initial 10% payment.
Have lots of things to tell here, but don't want to. If anyone have any questions, please feel free to contact me via my e-mail.
Totally disagree with the service they provided.
I will suggest that, NEVER NEVER NEVER to go with 24 hrs moving Inc.

Long-distance move from Texas to Washington

Dont look any further, these guys are the best!

My experience with 24 Hours Moving started about a month ago, when I was getting quotes to move to Washington. I probably spent 2 weeks getting information & quotes from over 20 moving companies. I got so many phone calls & emails, and felt like I wasn't getting my questions answered fully and wasn't being given all the facts by the salespersons from other companies.  This was my first big move and I needed someone to help me, not confuse me. Both the salespersons I spoke with, Jay and Joe took the time to explain everything completely and answered all my questions. The made it clear what to expect and they also explained why some of the quotes I was getting from other companies seemed too good to be true and what information the others were not telling me. To make me feel more comfortable, Jay offered to schedule a person, to come to my house and give me an accurate quote of my move. The guy that came out, Michael, was so patient and helpful. He went over everything with a "fine tooth comb," regarding my move and what would happen. He guaranteed to be there on the day of my move, and as promised he was. The movers came in the morning, packed and loaded my entire house that day. Not like other companies had told me. It would have taken 2 or more days to pack and load everything.  I received my things 2 weeks ago. After unpacking everything, I was amazed that everything arrived safely. The only thing that was damaged was a leg on my dresser. Those moveres were so wonderful, they had someone come to my house, pick up the dresser, have it repaired, and brought it back in 2 days! It was amazing! I had actually purchased a full replacement insurance for my items, and because these guys are so great, I didn't even have to file a claim. Trust me when I tell you, you don't need to look any further. These guys are in one word, professional.        .

Long-distance move from Texas to Pennsylvania

Perfect!

24 Hours Moving truly did a fantastic job moving my belongings from Dallas to Philadelphia. This was a huge relief because my initial move to Dallas was an utter disaster! So disastrous that we were very skeptical about ever using another moving company ever again. 24 Hours Moving restored our trust in moving companies. The deliverymen were perfect gentleman and we received timely, accurate and honest updates from our agent Sindy. She is not simply a kind voice over the phone, as was the case with our prior move when the "polite" sounding agent turned out to be a real liar..we could not have asked for anything better out of this experience and would recommend 24 Hours Moving to anyone!

Long-distance move from Texas to Connecticut

24 Hours Moving.

I approached the relocation of my son with great trepidation having to arrange long distance and having read all the buyer beware articles regarding moving companies. I requested  internet quotes and that created a flood of calls and emails. I resplied to the first few that came in and got an immediate call and quote from 24 hours, When I called I got the owner on the phone and he was polite, helpful and straightforward about the moving costs. He patiently answered my list of questions, from all of my research, and was neither annoyed or bothered that I wanted specific answers to everything in advance. I then spoke to a few other movers and I was wasting time because all were pretty close in range and none were as responsive. I worked with Sindy on the entire move and she could not have been more pleasant with an almost immediate turnaround time on every question. She knows her stuff. She gave me good advice and explained every charge up front, if there were any costs I didn't understand she would explain them again. Essentially, the charges are what they are with any move but the more you know what they are up front you should not be upset when it is time to settle up. In spite of all good intentions, my son had more stuff than we thought and the apartment was futher from the elevator than we thought so not surprising to get extra fees that day. They did all of the packing and it was packed extremely well, even the delivery company commented that they don't see things done that well usually, and they arrived in three days which was incredibly fast. I am sure part of it was luck but we also felt that everyone at 24 Hours Moving did what they could to make it happen. There was no damage to my son's belongings and 24 Hours checked in constantly that things were going well. It takes a good attitude on the csutomer side  to make this work but I thought these were good people in a tough business, so  happy to write this review.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Jersey

On time and on point.

Their personnel was right on time. I was scheduled between 8 -10 am window and about 9:00 am they were already  by my house.  Five people were there, one driving the truck, the owner/manager and 3 workers for packing and loading.   We did a walk through and then they started as soon as the manager instructed them. I witnessed how organized they were on the work and I can say they were pretty professional.  Overall it took about 3 hours to load and then about 2 hours to unload and unpack on the delivery site.  There was an elevator at my new place, which is a little convenient for them since I am in the 10th floor. So back to the pick up, They wrapped up all furniture and tape the crap out of it.  The result, nothing was broken and it was all in very good condition. I am a happy customer and that was all that matters. .

Holding my belongs hostage.

The orginal quote was 4500 to move from Dallas to St. Louis. Once they came and loaded the truck I was told the new price would be right at 9000. Classic bait and switch. I was told that I should recieve my goods in about 5-7 days that was on April 10th it is April 28 and I still don't have my furniture. Not I'm being told it won't be before May 7th. Any time I call I get the same person Veronica.. I select customer service.. I get her.. I select dispatch.. I get her. I can not get a concrete delivery date. I called and they told me me to check back next week. I have my contracts and I will update anyone that wants to use this company. I know they are holding my things til they can schedule a move back from St. Louis which is unethical since I was charged for has round trip!

Sorry for being so excited making this review but I need to do it before I forget. Just today I got my Piano and Bass sent by my sister from Dallas. Both of us was very worried that we can see some damage when they deliver it but in our surprise it was in its original condition when we receive it. if you have Piano, and you are moving it, Let them do it. You will never regret, because I did not. I am just happy. .

Long-distance move from Texas to Washington

Bad experience; Cost us more than double than told earlier;.

If you want to have added pain in your movig than higher these guys. Its a long story so in short, I just say than do not believe these guys. They will make cost estimation very less and speak very nicely to you but afterwards when you higher them then they will make your moving painful and expensive. They will explain everything written on contract but will not explain the actual important part in contract which will double your price later. In short, I just say that they will come in a small truck, authorised to enter in apartment but later on they will charge you for the same truck.. In the middle of your relocation, when you are already under burden of extra expenses of moving, one of the moving guy will call and ask for extra 400 dollars to drop off your stuff as your apartment will not allow 18 wheeler truck. And when you try to explain the guy that you didn't tell us before than the guy will yell and blame that why didn't you read contact :-). And 75 dollars for more than 7 steps.. So hell lot of expensive.. One of the worst incidents with them. is .. I told on email that we have L shaped sofa, so the Guy Jonathan was fine but the guys who came to pick up stuff said its sectional sofa..so we will charge more :-).. So I never seen any U, S, T or any english alphbet shaped sofa called as sectional sofa.. I always seen L shaped as an sectional .. so please update my knowledge if you ever seen U shaped called as an Sectional :-) My two tables are broken, I am not counting scratches and other lilltle broken things Please please don't hire them ..

Long-distance move from Texas to Georgia

Works well with pets and kids.

They move us last weekend from Frisco to Blairesville, GA. The completion of my whole move made me realize that I will always get the right company to hire if I trust the recommendation of friends. I've been left out by some no name company after I gave deposit three years ago, the last time I moved. I kept calling them and left a voicemail and no one answered. Turned out fake company. My money is gone. I learned a lesson this time. Never give deposit unless you verified that its legit. My friends were great, because they gave me the number of 24 hours moving when I mentioned my plan to move. Instead of online quote, I asked for in-house estimate and they came in the time they scheduled. In short, I used them and they started the move as soon as they got in our apartment. We have a two bedroom apartment, we have pets and two kids as well. They work great although there are disturbances around(my daughter and son played in the apartment while they were doing the job). It never bothered them. When they delivered it, I checked it one by one and everything was perfect. They charged me hundred dollar additional for the long carry since they can't park the truck close to our complex, which is too narrow to fit in an 18-wheeler truck. Afterall, I still gave a fifty dollar tip each. The driver who is very cool and the helper who is very polite.

Very considerate.

My recent move was very succesful with the help of my friend Tina who gave 24 hours moving's number. A small move but they never treated it to be a small one. The passion they've shown me moving my few items was such a great experience. I ran out of cash and the day they will deliver my items was a holiday. Banks are close and I can't transact til the next day. So they gave me consideration by changing their course and delivering other jobs first and delivered mine a day later. The guy Mike was very patient and they worked very fast and accurate the day they delivered all of my things. Hopefully next time I can hire them again when I move because I am a very satisfied customer.

Long-distance move from Texas to Washington

Very late and items stolen.

Beware of this company! At first, this Pamela will call almost everyday to convince you to hire them. She's sweet anyway but our nightmare started when they sent their reps to pick up our stuffs last April 10. It's been more than 30 days since this company got our items last April 10,2015 from Texas bound to Washington and guess what?! No calls and updates! There's another issue, a missing samsung galaxy tablet and $80 cash went missing after these guys left with our furnitures and appliances. We called more than a dozen times and all they could tell us is "We have no updates from the delivery/dispatch dept. We will call you if we have anything." REALLY?! Excuses after excuses and now it's May 13, nobody knows where our items are! Got 3 kids sleeping on the floor while me and my wife are having back problems already sleeping on the cold floor. Paid 60% already as agreed but no news yet if they are going to deliver them to us or it's headed to Mexico instead. Very frustrating and a lot of disappointments. The reported stolen items remained unsolved by the company officials. We are tired of waiting and don't know who can help us to get back our things since we are new to Washington. This warning is intended for the next victim/s of this lousy and very unreliable 24HoursMoving,Inc. company. .

Rude and Racist.

When you hire a moving company, you are paying for an easier moving experience than if you had to do it yourself.Well this was not the case. They were late, rude, and racists! They wouldn't even put on shoe covers that I supplied for them unless I provided an additional $300, because the movers say they did not have enough time to put them on. I just merely did not want any dirt tracked in the new home and they were adamant about not wearing them unless I paid that horrendous amount. So my mother was becoming unhappy and the mover assumed she was saying bad words about him. Very Impressive handling of customer needs.

I never had any resources on how to start with my move, It was my first time to move and I am having a hard time looking for a mover because nobody that I know can refer anybody. So I began searching the internet via Google. Found a bunch of moving company. So I called them asked for a quotation, So I basically hired the most affordable one because I am in a tight budget being a college student. I hired 24 Hours Moving not because I was impressed at them at first but because of their competitive pricing. I was surprised when my whole move went very smoothly and I had a very good moment dealing with their people whether it is from their office or the personnel they sent on-site. They took good care of my belongings although its not that much expensive and even helped me unpack it during delivery. If you would ask me if I recommend them, Of course I will. Glad I never had a very hard move and I am thanking 24 Hour Moving Inc. Now I am very impressed. .

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Great..great..great.

Through my friend's recommendation I hired their services and I am thankful to him because I can't saying nothing negative to 24 Hours Moving Inc who literally made my move like a piece of cake. No hassles no, I did not even made a follow up call to check the status because I was informed immediately as soon as they had my property in transit. Great movers!

Long-distance move from Texas to Tennessee

Never Again.

We hired this company based on their assurance our belongings would most likely be delivered within three to five days. It is now twelve days later, and still no delivery. Mary, the dispatcher, fed us some story about the truck breaking down somewhere, but didn't say where. She then told us we would have a delivery on April 16th. Mary also told us she texted the driver twice to give us a call, which never happened. Then she told us "the truck was in our neck of the woods." That was two days ago, and still no call and no delivery. Then Mary told us we would have delivery either late today (April 17) or early tomorrow. I attempted to call Mary on April 16 before close of business asking why we still never got that phone call from the driver, and wanted to know an exact day we would have our delivery. She didn't answer so I left a message. Of course, my call was never returned. Evidently the truck has been in my neck of the woods now for two days! And still, no phone call from the driver. Incredible how companies like this stay in existence, as they have no clue about good customer service, and don't seem to care. I posted a review on the Dallas BBB web site, and awaiting their a response from 24 Hour Moving. Our belongings are out there somewhere, and we don't have a clue exactly where. I only wish I researched this company more before hiring them. But I can assure you I will never hire them again.
