Long-distance move from Washington, DC to Mountain View, CA

Simply poor customer service.

Hired them for a cross-country move. All the movers who showed up did a great job and were nice but the communication and professionalism from the corporate office was simply poor and lack luster. They lost a large card board box (22x16x15 in) during the move. They never apologized, or even agree to look for it. Simply saying it was lost and to file a claim. If we hadn't bought supplemental insurance it would have been terrible. The cost changed when we increased the amount shipped but then it changed again for unknown reasons. They also add shuttle fees a few days before the move saying they didn't know before (can easily be determined with Google Maps at any time, what changed 3 days before?) I cannot recommend them, and suggest looking elsewhere. Poor customer service.

Long-distance move from Rockville, MD to Los Angeles, CA

Lies and fraud re cross-country move; avoid at all costs!!

They are still holding my household goods hostage while demanding more money without any basis!!

I had contacted 24/7 because it was BBB accredited w/ an “A” rating. On 9/15/20, Andrew (“A”) emailed promising a “CUSTOM NOT TO EXCEED ESTIMATE.” After I provided a detailed list of items & packed boxes, A emailed a “Binding Estimate”. I told A I wanted to read it over before signing. At this point, A put me on hold & got his manager Charles (“C”) on the phone for a 3-way convo.

C started by saying our convo was being RECORDED, which made me believe I could rely on his statements since they would be documented if any issues came up.

During the convo lasting 2 hours, I repeatedly requested an estimate “AS CLOSE TO THE FINAL TOTAL as possible” so I could budget for it. A & C googled my addresses to check out the particulars like the street situation. When I requested an in-person or video estimate, C declined as unnecessary. So I measured & provided the exact dimensions for each item.

C later emailed a Revised Binding Estimate (RBE). When I asked to esign it the next day, C insisted that I esign it then to reserve the moving date. After 2 hours of continuous convo discussing all details, & their repeated assurances that the estimate would not change more than “a few hundred dollars” up or down depending on actual cubic feet (CF), I went ahead and esigned.

(1) WRONGFUL CHARGE OF $1136.09 FOR MOVE-OUT.

On 9/25/20 the movers came. After walking around & speaking w/ each other in a foreign language, they declared I needed to pay $1136.09 more. When asked why, they said most of my stuff were “antique.” I told them most of my stuff were just cheap, used furniture.

They told me they were Ukrainian. One did not speak English at all; the other did but was difficult to understand w/ a limited vocab. & heavy accent. So I called C, who rambled, apologized, then explained the men needed to be paid for their work before they could load my stuff. B/c I had home renovators coming the next day to prepare for listing my house, I had no choice but to pay the additional $1136.09.

(a) EXTRA CF–$614.12. Despite the estimate of 730 CF by C, who is a “manager,” the movers, who looked young and inexperienced, magically came up with 850 CF by simply looking at my items before loading anything onto the truck. This is ridiculous.

(b) PACKING MATERIALS–$222. C’s RBE was supposed to include all materials including $60 for picture boxes.

(c) STAIRS–$300. I had told C I had a 3-story Townhouse (TH) w/ two sets of stairs, & his RBE was supposed to account for the steps. The movers parked on the main floor level. I can agree to an extra $75 for the 4-5 steps outside the front door but not the remaining $225.

(d) LONG CARRY–$150. Per the RBE, each 75 ft. beyond the first 75 ft. is $75.00. The truck was parked right next to my TH building & only 2 attached THs away from mine. There is no way the distance was 225 ft away from my front door. At most, I can agree to an extra $75 based on 150 ft.

2) WRONGFUL DEMAND FOR $800 SHUTTLE FEES

24/7 called on 10/15/20 to say they would deliver on 10/16/20, but insisted I pay $800 more in “shuttle fees” first.

I had asked C specifically about “shuttle fees” mentioned in their “binding estimate” because a semi-truck would likely be unable to navigate the roadways around my Md townhouse and my LA apartment. C repeatedly assured me NO SHUTTLE FEES would be added because 24/7 was a “nationwide carrier” w/ many hubs including in MD & CA, & that a “REGULAR,” “26’ truck” would be coming to pick up and drop off my household goods. INDEED, I WAS NOT CHARGED SHUTTLE FEES FOR MOVE-OUT EVEN THO THE MOVERS USED A SMALL RYDER TRUCK. So 24/7 is absolutely wrong to maliciously withhold my household goods while insisting on additional “shuttle fees.”.

Long-distance move from Santa Clara, CA to Las Vegas, NV

Long distance move from Santa Clara CA to Las Vegas NV

I feel it important to list the main questions you should be asking before accepting a quote on having your household moved by a moving company. You should be asking how much they charge per cubic foot. Ask them to describe to you how much the cubic feet actually is as far as room dimensions so that you have a realistic idea on how much truck you will fill with your belongings. Don’t rely on the sales person to communicate this properly. Do your research. For delivery date, ask if it is guaranteed or if it is window of time. What happens if they go beyond that window of time? And lastly, how they want the last payment on delivery paid. Below is the experience I had with 24/7 Logistics and I do not recommend this company at all to be in the running for a bid.

On June 26th I decided to research moving companies as my husband and I were planning on moving within the next year. So I filled out a survey and received a phone call from Sharon. I explained to Sharon that we didn’t have an idea on when we would be moving but we would be and we would be moving to Las Vegas from Santa Clara (bay area)CA. Initially she asked me how big of a place I have and I told her we had a 2 bedroom 1 bath duplex just under 1000 sq. ft. She then quoted me at 3k with $750 for full service which means the movers come and do that packing as well. What she did not review with me is that what she was quoting on is 700 cubic feet. Even if she had quoted on it, it was my reliance on this moving company to know how many cubic feet a 2 bedroom can fit into. So let me explain what 700 cubic feet is. It is equivalent to 1 bedroom (9x9x9). So imagine having a 2 bedroom with 2 beds, bedroom furniture, kitchen, dining room, living room furniture, as well as the garage fit into a 1 bedroom for packing. This is not realistic. We did not discover this error until in mid august I gave her a call and we went over inventory. She then upped my original $3750 quote to $6700 in which I was not happy with, but after discussing the inventory, I approved it. September 8th, the movers show up. They then quoted me at 10k (total) because of the space it took up to load up the truck. They would not load the truck unless I agreed to the 10k. At this point I should’ve told them to leave, but we had already made plans to be moved into Vegas the last weekend of September. The movers were instructed that the delivery date (2 weeks away) would be Sept 26th. My husband even took the following week off in order to assist with unpacking and getting the house set up. The mover was supposed to give me a final copy of the receipt at the end of the night, but it never showed up in my email. So I tried calling Sharon to find out where the final bill of lading was. She referred me to the Quality control person, Tom. I left a message for Tom and didn’t get a return phone call until the next day. In addition, I requested the final bill of lading and I got it on Wednesday. When reviewing the bill of lading I found out that the mover had written down the wrong date for delivery. They wrote down Sept 29th, not Sept 26 which was originally requested. I tried contacting Tom, Liz (the dispatcher) and didn’t get a response until 2 days later! The customer service with this company not only knows how to mislead, but they also know how not to answer the phone. I finally get a phone call back. And am told that they changed the date but not guaranteed for delivery on this day. “So let me get this straight, your movers made a mistake on the bill of lading, in addition I had to hound you for the bill of lading and now you are going to delay my delivery” was my response.

My husband and I arrived in Vegas on the 25th of September. We did not get delivery until October 5th and my husband was gone at this point. This was supposed to be delivered within 5 days of the date, 10 DAYS LATER!!! Do not make the same mistake I did and trust that the service you are paying for is what you are getting. for the final payment. Keep that in mind when choosing a company. Be wise when making your move. Ask the right questions. Learn from my bad experience.

Great Job with Long Distance Move and Pack

The team at 24/7 Logistic Services went well beyond meeting my expectations. I have zero complaints and nothing but kudos. From the initial call and screening, to the pre-pack update, to moving day (pack and load), to delivery, the team was exceptional. The packing team in Virginia took the care and time to ensure our items were well protected, while understanding the need to save space on the truck. Upon to delivery to our storage unit in Maine, the unload team worked quickly while minimizing storage space enabling us to store all items in a single unit, saving us $200+/month. The teams were professional, friendly, courteous, and efficient. I would recommend 24/7 Logistics to anyone looking to complete a long distance move.

Scam ..do not use this company

11/14/2020

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My grandmother signed a contract with them saying the earliest they could deliver was the 9th and the latest was the 11th. We are now across the country in Michigan from California, and it is the 14th with nothing! We were expecting them to be here on the 9th, the day we arrived. We are in a house with an air mattress and 2 elderly women, 4 dogs and 2 cats, waiting to hear from anybody with any information about where my grandmothers belongings are and when they will be arriving at the house. This has been the worst experience with a moving company and I will do everything I can to make sure nobody else ever has to go through this with them again. They have been avoiding our calls for 3 days now. We will be filing charges very soon. They take your money very quickly, but don't answer the phone after they get it. WHERE ARE MY GRANDMOTHERS BELONGINGS !?!?!?!?!?

KRISTEN ESPINOZA

ALSO IF YOU REPLY TO THIS BAD REVIEW LIKE YOU REPLY TO OTHERS, SNARKY, SARCASTIC, RUDE, INCONCIDERATE, UNSENSATIVE, AND DISGUSTINGLY, YOU WILL LOSE BUSINESS BECUASE NOBODY WANTS TO USE A MOVING COMPANY WHO TALKS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT. YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC AND WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS :)

Long-distance move from Arlington, VA to Eugene, OR

First Time Mover

My stuff was picked up in a timely manner and wrapped quickly (the movers did not wear masks when they picked up my stuff). The items were delivered very quickly which was awesome since this was a cross state move. I was charged an extra $400 upon arrival for unforeseen unpacking issues. Two of my items were damaged severely in the move (a dresser and desk) I have just filed a claim which was easy- hoping to hear back soon.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to New York

Wonderful experience

I do not even know where to begin! From Liz scheduling my move and delivery - to Oscar, where he kept me updated on dates of availability to the crew packing from previous house to the crew unpacking my belongings - I really appreciated the professional - and friendly touch. The two teams were - Artim’s crew - John’s crew- they were so professional and went straight to work.

This was my first time ever hiring a moving crew and I was very nervous about moving my precious heirlooms - the crew was ever so careful - all was delivered perfectly.

I really appreciated everyone’s role in my move!!

No pride. No integrity. Poor Work.

Long distance move from Chicago to PA.

I am not one to typically write a poor review, but this was such a horrible experience that I would like to warn others that may be new to finding a mover for long distances moves.

The relationship started great- sales team/initial customer service was friendly and responsive. Once I signed my contract, it all went down from there. Communication moving forward was awful. We repeatedly had to be the ones to reach out to get updates, and often the information shared was inaccurate.

The day our delivery was scheduled, the driver showed up- with NO MOVERS. We were then told the movers would be there the next day. We called customer service 4 times and never got an answer until 6pm that evening. The customer service representative was rude and dismissive.

The movers arrived COMPLETELY UNPREPARED. They did not protect our hardwood floors. They used AND DAMAGED our items to create ramps in and out of the house. They damaged our cycling bike while carrying it into our house- and did not tell us. Absolutely no pride in their work or integrity to admit the damage. The bike also has a piece missing. Boxes were crushed and ripped.

This company also advertises that they will set up items upon arrival. Not only did they not do this, but they didn't even unwrap most of the items.

They then tried to charge us an additional $225 (this was after MULTIPLE other increases) for stairs. I had to pull up my invoice and show them that I already paid for the stair charge. This company advertises that they only employ their own employees, but there is just no way. There was no communication between drivers, movers, and our agreement.

I am so disappointed in this experience. I would be able to overlook price, the delay in receiving items, and laziness in regards to completing the job- but the damage that was clearly avoidable if some care had been taken- is just unforgivable.

Long-distance move from Fort Washington, MD to Philadelphia, PA

Didn't keep contracted dat! Overcharged me! Left furniture @ oldhouse

PLEASE DO NOT USE 24/7 LOGISTICS MOVING. They ignored the contracted pickup date andI had a long distance move. After they get your money, they will change moving days. and all associated times.. They didn't even come on time. They said they couldn't meet me because they lost the ignition keys to the truck and the truck had to be re-keyed. They left lots of major furniture and big appliances atmyhouse-and overcharged me. Worst moving company I ever had to deal with andI'm a senior widow. Hired them for lost distance. They didn't keep the contracted time or furniture list removal. ThenThey never gave me an actual and definite time to pickup after that, They didn't want to say an actual time in advance.. I kept asking and they kept avoiding and changing , to meet after they slept over somewhere, and to meet at my house. No timing, No planning, no consideration for the fact that furniture and appliances i already paid them to take - they didn't take and I had to drive all the way back to Maryland and hire and pay another moving company and struggle to move big furniture they wouldn't take on my own, then they held my furniture hostage and wouldn't release it to make me find more money to pay them. After they made me pay the extra money, they all but 1 left and still kept my furniture on the truck for hours, doing nothing The people at the office didn't want to talk to me, the salesman wouldn't come to phone, and were not kind, courteous, considerate just seem to do this all the time.theyneveraccepted responsibility for how they treated mother, their poor customer service and not following the contract and how poorly they trelated me Then they said I had to email and not callthem- i did, even though it's difficult during a long distance move. They didn't have enough trucks, probably why they didn't move me on the contracted day. DON'T USE THEM. Zthe manager avoided talking to me.. iIT WAS A DISASTER, ESP, FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN. THEY DAMAGED MY FURNITURE, AND BROKE ITEMS. THEY ARE NOT HONEST THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY ANDLEFTME IN A VERY BAD WAY. MANAGER NEVER CALLED ME BACK AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME IN ANY WAY OR MAK ANYTHING RIGHT. IT'S HORRIBLE. DON'TUSE THEM.
