Sonic auto transport

I was charged more than double the amount quoted on the contract I signed. They did not explain this potential variability to me until after they had spent a prolonged period looking for a carrier and assuring me they would find someone at the quoted price. When they finally found a carrier, the price was more than double the quote. I was told this was “normal” and felt pressured to sign and pay immediately while on the phone.

Despite this experience, I had no intention of leaving a negative review. However, starting about 30 seconds after I paid, I began receiving repeated text messages asking me to leave a review, including requests that I mention Robin Vazquez by name. The messages continued over the following weeks.

I responded explaining that I was dissatisfied with the service, and why, and asked them to stop contacting me for a review. After receiving yet another request, I blocked the number.

Several weeks later, I started receiving text messages from a different number, from someone introducing himself as Diego at Sonic Auto. He stated that they "... did not get any feedback from me about the delivery and our service..." I responded again with my concerns and again asked them to stop contacting me.

I then received an email from Diego at Sonic with nearly the same message, stating they "did not receive any feedback" from me and asking me to provide it as soon as possible, even though I had already provided feedback multiple times by text.

The repeated requests for a review ultimately prompted me to write one. Based on my experience with the pricing, pressure to complete the transaction, and continued requests for a review despite my requests that they stop contacting me, I would not use Sonic Auto Care again and do not recommend them.

Service cost: $1650

I have worked with Sonic 2 times. the second time I work with Cameron, he was absolutely the best broker! he helped negotiate the price with the driver, something you wont want to do it yourself. the car got pick up in the timeframe we discussed, the price was fluctuated a bit but within my budget because i know its the lowest i can go and other drivers have quoted way higher than Cameron, he also makes sure the price i will be charged align with his promise and i got some discount as returned customer. definitely work with him again in the future when i move back to california

Bob & Daniel at Sonic Auto Transport went above and beyond to get my Jeep from Illinois to Idaho at the last minute when my previous 6-week reservation with another company left us hanging on our agreed upon pick-up date. Stopped all communication I’m figuring because they never found a driver. Gave them 3 days of endless calls with not a single response. The guys at Sonic bailed us out of a bad situation and were great to deal with. They had my car shipped from Illinois to Idaho within 4 days of first contact. Herman & Mary were our drivers and couldn’t have asked for better. Communicated all the way via text messaging. I highly recommend this company. They deliver on their promises. Wish I would have chosen you guys first. Thanks again to all of you, John & Anna

After a couple failed attempts working with different auto transport brokers , I was blessed to find Judy Kats. Due to the prevailing ecomony, finding transportation drivers is a total lottery. JudyFirst found one that wanted too much money but then she found the right one after. Although my truck had to wait a few weeks to be moved, Judy was on top of thing With daily updates by text so she made me feel taken care of all along. The process went as agreed and my vehicle was finally delivered safe and sound.

Kudos to Judy.

I booked Sonic Auto transportation services a couple of months prior to the move date. They kept confirming until the day of the scheduled pick-up. The day before they told me the driver had canceled and I had an option to pay $500 more and they would be able to find someone else. I kept saying that we have a contract that they will transport my car, on the agreed date and for the agreed price but in the end I was left we no choice but to pay since it was a day before the scheduled pick-up. If I was to look for alternative options, I would have to pay a premium. This is a classic bait-and-switch fraud, and I would like to make other potential customers aware, so they don't do business with them!

I was amazed at the number of responses I received when I inputted my inquiry into a site for transporting my newly purchased 911 in Charlotte, NC to my home in Texas. It was a bit off putting but Dominic from Sonic seemed like a good guy and offered a fair price, not the lowest, but no where near the highest. Anyway, I went with them based upon Dominic’s statements and it turned out to be a great decision. My car actually arrived as they said it would and in perfect condition. The price was preset and exactly as agreed. Great service at a very good price!

I would give ZERO stars if possible. BEWARE of the bait and switch from this company. I was quoted $650 to transport my car. Sales rep called EVERYDAY until I signed the contract and then radio silence after. Got a call the morning of my pick up and was told the price was now $970 and if I wouldn't pay the driver would take someone else's car. I ended up paying $220 more for this service- they offered me a $20 discount for my trouble. That's barely a drop in the $220 bucket and then they didn't even apply the discount. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

What a total joke this company. The day my car is to be picked up they text me and tell me the driver got sick and cant pick it up. This wastes 5 days! When looking for another driver. They tell me its now going to cost $1250. that's $465 more than our signed contract is for. Now they want me to sign another contract at $1250. This is basically extortion. Agree to a lower price than at the last minute hit me with a higher price or end up paying storage fees for the car as it waits another 5 days for a carrier to pick it up. To me that's exactly like extortion. Im temped to report this to the authorities. This is not a do what's right for the customer company its a do what's best for them and that's extorting people.

I was very leery about shipping a vehicle cross-country. I’ve heard horror stories about the process. Did a lot of research and decided to choose Sonic, primarily based on cost vs services provided. Very cautiously, I began my dealings with Angel. I must say, Angel was amazing, very open and honest about the process. She made me feel like I wasn’t just another number, but a valued customer. I am in the customer service industry (airline pilot) and I know the attributes of a great employee. Angel is the type of employee I would want to surround myself with. She is a fantastic asset to your company and if I were in charge, I’d do ANYTHING to keep her in my employ. I will recommend Sonic Auto Transport solely based on my interaction with this fantastic human. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Thank you Miss Angel. Your name suits you perfectly.

We used this company to ship my car from Florida to Missouri. We got an estimated quote of $1000. They were supposed to pick it up before I left town. They said it would be around 8:00 a.m. I called their 24 hour number around 6:00 a.m. to confirm. The customer service worker said that she couldn’t confirm anything with me and I should call when my agent was in around 8:00. So I called at 8:00 when the company hadn’t arrived. No one answered. I called them a few times each hour until I had to get on my plane. Still, no one answered the phone or returned my messages or email. Right before I had to get on the plane, they called me back to tell me they would get my car the next day. I had to give my keys to a friend in town so they could give them to the driver of the company. The next day came, no one came to get the car. I called the company several times that day and no one answered again. They called me the next day and told me they would get the car the day after that. That day came, and still no show. The company still didn’t answer any of my calls. TWO DAYS later, they called to tell me that they would get the car on Sunday, but it would cost and extra $600. There was very little explanation as to why. My car has since been picked up but hasn’t arrived three days later. This company is very unorganized. They won’t give you an accurate time frame or answer any of your calls when they fail to arrive on scheduled dates. Then, they will up charge you. Overall, this was a very stressful experience that ended up costing more than the original quote for no reason. There are plenty of other good companies that will be on time, answer your calls, and that won’t upcharge you. I suggest using a different company to save time and money.

Sylvia with Sonic Transport Shipping was very helpful with shipping my car from California to Alabama! After getting no response from another company, I called them and within a couple of hours, I had a driver/carrier available within 24 hours!!! I have an SUV and their quote was $200 less than my previous quote that received no response on the “national board”! Sylvia followed up with me and answered all my questions! The driver contacted me and before coming and responded during the trip to answer couple questions!! Very happy I chose this company!! ???

My contact at Sonic, Chelsie Young, was professional, efficient, polite, and simply gave top-shelf service all the way through the process of transporting my vintage car.

The transportation was great! My vintage car arrived in perfect condition, which is all one can ask for. The driver was great, a true gentleman, and again, very polite and efficient.

I will be moving again in a year or so, and will use Sonic Auto Transportation again! You can move your car with confidence with Sonic!

This company is a straight up scam. They do not own any trucks or do anything other than reach out to find you a transport.

I was originally quoted a price when I booked 4 months in advance, I followed up every week one month prior to the day because I wasn't hearing anything and kept being assured that everything was fine.

On the day of the delivery I get a phone call from a guy with a fake Russian accent saying he crashed his truck and can't pick up my car.

Sonic "somehow" finds another truck to take it that day but now it's going to be $300 more and they want me to pay it otherwise they can't say when my car will be picked up.

They really know how to grift someone in a desperate situation that they created, because they knew it was my moving day and I was leaving the state (I was very clear in all of my phone calls that I needed the pickup this day or prior to it) If I did it again I would reach out direct to a local trucking company and cut out these useless middlemen.

I had a great experience with Sonic and Kevin Alston specifically. Kevin stayed in touch with me daily while my car was in transport. He answered all my calls and texts, and if he didn't answer, he called me back within minutes. The quote he gave me was far cheaper than any other quote I had already been given and other than a $150 deposit at pickup didn't have to be paid until my car was in front of me and I was satisfied with their job. Would absolutely use again. Thanks so much Sonic and especially Kevin Alston and Yuahmel, the driver. Everything I had hoped and way more.

Sonic Transport employee, Kevin Alston, rocks! I needed a transport from Houston, Tx to OKC to my son in college. He made it happen cheap, fast and delivered exactly at the time promised! The driver was friendly and both he and Kevin made me feel comfortable with the transport. Kevin was awesome! He was truthful and honest through the whole process and treated me very kindly and the entire process was PROFESSIONAL. I highly recommend Kevin and his team for your next transport.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY RUNNING A SCAM. They quoted me a price of $1,450 to ship my car from Massachusetts to California, and today, less than 48 hours before pickup, they told me that the driver’s “father died and he is in the hospital” - that’s a direct quote, I’m not sure if his father died OR he is in the hospital, but either way it began to sound fishy. They then told me that the only other driver they found was charging $2,200 - over $700 more than the original price that I agreed to in the contract. Judy, Kylie, and Judy’s manager all worked in concert with each other to facilitate this scam - and all 3 refused to take accountability for not adhering to the original contract and continued to blame the driver. They also imbed a clause in the contract saying that the “price is subject to change”, meaning they can charge what they want regardless of what’s in the contract.

In short, THIS IS A SCAM. They wait until you have no other options and then try to raise the price of the shipment. Please DO NOT USE THEM.

I was skeptical at first to use this broker due to some bad reviews complaining about price fluctuations, but Im glad I did. The service I received from the broker,Jennifer L., was above and beyond. She is excellent to work with and ensures you get a trustworthy and professional truck carrier (GODSPEED LLC). We had a contract with them to transport our car from Philadelphia to Los Angeles…pick up and drop off door to door for $1350. The morning of pick up time, they called us and told us the driver had cancelled. They said the car can be picked up and dropped off by a different driver for $1630 ($280 more). Unfortunately it was too late and we didn’t have time to contact other transportation companies, so we agreed. They cancelled our original contract with the price of $1350, and send us a new contract for $1630. They told us that car would be picked up that day; but, the driver they found us didn’t show up that day or even the day after. On the 3rd day, he called and told us he would not be coming to pick the car up, and we had to drive the car to him -about 20 minutes drive. They caused us so much stress. An awful, experience. We would never use Sonic transportation again or recommend them to anyone!

This was the best possible company to ship my 07 ‘ Forester to my granddaughter for her first car. First of all the wonderful professional transporter who met me and loaded my car for it’s cross country trip was so nice and accomplished at the task, it was done in no time. I felt very confident it would go well. And then in a few days it was there and my daughter sent me a picture of the happy result. I have no doubt that the delivery was as smooth as the pick up of the car. Also the communication with me and my daughter in CA was Great! All around a seamless process, Thanks to all including office arrangers on the phone calls and in texts.
