Mateo and the Sonic Team are the best!!

10/10 recommend. I’m very pleased with the service and delivery. Communication was great, my car was picked up on time and delivered within 3 days from MA to TN in perfect condition. I had searched far and wide for a reliable shipping company because I was weary of all the chaos I saw can happen with different shipping companies and this was my first time doing this. I took a chance on Sonic Auto Transport and they did not disappoint. Mateo was amazing and I highly recommend using Sonic for your shipping needs. I was initially quoted $600 but it ended up coming out to $900 which is typical across the board for immediate delivery but I did have the option to wait longer to get the initial price, I just chose to pay extra to have it shipped ASAP but regardless, this was the lowest price compared to other companies who quoted me $1200-$1400 which I’m sure would’ve still went up if I went through with others. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the service I received and as someone who knew absolutely nothing about navigating the car shipment world, Sonic Auto Transport was the best choice all around, I will definitely be using them again!!

Mateo Richardson was super helpful!

Mateo Richardson was super helpful. He arranged pickup on very short notice for a car that I had purchased out-of-state. In fact, another transport company could not arrange the transport at all, but Mateo was able to find a driver, arrange the pick-up time to my seller's schedule, and make sure the car was safely delivered to me the next day. His price was great, and he was very responsive to every email and text I sent. I couldn't ask for more, and I won't hesitate to use Mateo again in the future for other car transports!

Great service rep

To be Frank the company a 3 star but Mike an absolute 5 star support keeping things afloat with this firm for me. Went beyond his way to help me out. Not sure what is last name was but try to request Mike as your support. The biggest issue I face apart from that was the customer support team for after hours don’t have access to the dispatch tool at all so they barely have any update for you. Most likely a process thing but still is annoying.

Good experience for me

Jeremy was very helpful. He managed to find me a delivery on a short timeline. Keep in mind that the quote will likely not be accurate, and read the contract throurougly. I was still okay with the price change and I really needed transport, which I have received, and the car arrived in the exact condition it left. However, nothing guaranteed I wouldn't be asked for 3 times the price and charged $200 for refusing.

Best Experience with Sonic Auto Transportation

I needed to ship my vehicle from North Dakota to Las Vegas, Nevada. I placed an inquiry on the web for a quote cost. I received a flow of quotes from different auto shipping companies including Sonic Auto Shipping. God do I got lucky!! Sonic Auto agent Mike Smith was the first to contact me quoting me the price with transparency and Honesty which I sensed it from his diligence in what he does. Shortly after, I decided to recontact him (MikeSmith) with my agreement for the deal and signed the paperwork.

The car was picked up on time with no hassle whatsoever and departed on the journey. The shipping trip was fast in less than today I received the vehicle on the other side in las Vegas clean and intact.

I give credit to Mike Smith and Luke Howard for the deal in shipping my vehicle and for the work they endeavor to make it an easy transaction as much as can be.

Special thanks and creditv to broker Mike Smith and supervisor Luke Howard of whom I both would advise any prospector who is looking to transport his vehicle across the US and possibly abroad to get in touch with them.

The agents helping out with the whole process are great, especially Mike. He was very prompt to respond and arrange things. My only downside was that there was a price variance from our initially agreed amount but it was a reasonable increase so I was okay with it. This was my first time shipping a car, and the process started out very overwhelming. My phone was flooded with calls, texts, and emails. It was a lot to sort through, and when I started calling places back, most of the companies did not make me feel very comfortable. That was not the case with Sonic Auto Transportation and Harper. The whole process was explained to me, the price was good, and I just got a good feeling from Harper, so I decided to go with Sonic. At the beginning there were some challenges but Harper communicated well, and worked hard to get the job done. Sonic is a broker, not a carrier. They'll quote you a low price, but expect it to rise 30–50%—that inflated number is the actual market rate. The initial quote is just an estimate; the final price is confirmed only after they contact a real driver.

You need a very flexible schedule. Drivers may commit and then no-show, or promise a morning pickup but arrive at night. You'll have to stay on top of things yourself.

That said, my agent Cameron was great. When the first driver ghosted me, Cameron quickly found a second driver (though this cost me a few days). Luckily, the second driver didn't raise the price—but note: if your first driver bails, your quote is essentially void, and the next driver will either keep or increase the price; a discount is highly unlikely. Cameron even set up a Plan B and kept looking for a third driver in case the second fell through. That proactive backup planning was excellent.

One caveat: Cameron works 5 AM–2 PM PT. After-hours issues are hard to resolve—my first driver scheduled a 4 PM pickup, never showed, ignored calls, and Sonic's office was closed, leaving me waiting helplessly. That was frustrating.

But if you accept Sonic as a matching service and have a realistic budget, it works. I shipped my car from Woodland(95776) to Irvine(92618) in an enclosed, fully insured trailer for $800—a fair price (though far from the initial $450 estimate).

Tips: Give them a timeframe (e.g., 08/01–08/07). They'll find drivers and relay quotes. Research typical rates, tell Sonic your target price, and they'll usually match it. If no driver accepts within your timeframe, your deposit is refundable. But if you cancel or reject a driver that meets your price within that window, you may lose the deposit.

Would I use Sonic again? Yes, but with more schedule buffer—and I'd ask my agent to keep hunting for backup drivers until my car is physically picked up, to avoid no-show disasters.
