Mateo at Sonic did a wonderful job of explaining the various options to me and obtained a fair price for my vehicle. The vehicle was picked up and delivered without incident. I would definitely recommend this firm.

Damaged my vehicle

Took pictures before picking up the car after they brought it out from inside with no damage to the front grill of the bumper and when I received the car the whole front center grill was damaged and this is not a cheap car. It’s a Porsche Panamera GTS. I told him to file a complaint for me with the shipping company and I never heard back anything from him. Do not use this company. They are a scammers.

Official company response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the car shipping of your Porsche Panamera GTS. We understand how important a vehicle like this is, and we take every auto transport concern very seriously.

After carefully reviewing the details of your vehicle transport order, including the inspection reports and documentation taken during both vehicle pickup and delivery, we would like to clarify a few important points. During the pickup inspection, detailed photos were taken by the carrier. Our records also include additional photos that we would be happy to share with you upon request. Based on the documentation we reviewed, the front damage appears to have been present prior to pickup.

It also appears the vehicle may have been released from Copart with the damage already present. As part of the car shipping process, both pickup and delivery inspections are performed to ensure transparency. At the time of delivery, the Bill of Lading (BOL) was signed confirming that the vehicle arrived in the same condition as noted at pickup.

That said, as a car shipping broker, our goal is always to ensure our customers feel supported throughout the auto transport service process. Even though the documentation indicates the condition remained the same, we still want to help in any way we can. If you would like to proceed with a claim or need additional documentation, we would be happy to provide any inspection photos, transport records, or paperwork needed to assist you.

Stay far away from this dishonest operator!

Stay far away from this company! Check their Better Business Bureau if you dare. They will give you a price, then waste your time saying the driver will be there tomorrow, only to not show up, give an excuse the truck broke down, reschedule for the next day and again not show up. Then when you are at wits end, they change the price on you! Not one single ounce of integrity with this company. They will just waste your time and repeatedly lie to you and aggravate you. Horrible dishonest people! I'm sure the owner is going to try to give a b.s. reason why they couldn't honor their commitment, because that seems to be what he does. BUt don't believe it!

Official company response

Dear Sam, thank you for reaching out. We are so sorry to let you down. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate a driver for the original price due to the assigned driver's last-minute cancellation. The option we gave you was the only one available, we apologize for not meeting your requirements. We want to assure you that we did our best to negotiate the price. We have to admit it is quite higher than the rate quoted, but since it was a last-minute booking some drivers request upper payment. We hope for your understanding.

Long-distance move from Dacula, GA to Pecos, TX

Deceptive practices and terrible service

I had a terrible experience with Sonic Transport and do not recommend their services due to their deceptive practices. Here’s what happened:

I booked to have my son’s car transported from Dacula, GA, to Pecos, TX, with Sonic Transport on May 8th for a quoted price of $735. The agreement included a pickup date of Thursday, May 16th, with delivery expected on Sunday. Despite confirming that this was a locked-in price with no hidden fees, as stated by the agent Paul, I encountered significant issues.

First, the company did not reach out to me as promised. I had to call them on May 16th to inquire about the status. During this call, I was informed that the price had increased to $1,350 due to carriers not having enough loads to make the run. This was a stark contrast to the initial assurance that the price was fixed unless there were specific conditions like mechanical failure, inclement weather, the carrier’s schedule, or Acts of God—none of which occurred.

The company’s terms and conditions clearly state that the price of transportation is based on recent shipments on similar routes and that the price might change only under the aforementioned conditions. Their FAQ section also emphasizes that the quote is all-inclusive, covering all fees, taxes, and insurance, and guarantees no unexpected price changes. Despite these guarantees, Sonic Transport attempted to increase the agreed-upon price on the day of pickup.

I signed the contract on May 8th with the price of $735 confirmed. To have the price suddenly hiked up to $1,350 on the pickup day is unacceptable and deceptive.

I highly do not recommend Sonic Transport due to their dishonest and unprofessional behavior. Their practices are misleading, and their customer service is poor. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a reliable transport company.

Service cost: $1350

Official company response

Dear Customer, thank you for reaching out. As an auto transport broker, we provide a quote for the amount we believe it will take to ship your vehicle. As per our records we have never guaranteed you a final price, and our shipping agent made it clear to explain how transport business works. The option we gave you was the only one available, we apologize for not meeting your requirements. We want to assure you that we did our best to negotiate the price and talk the driver down so he could make a discount for us. Unfortunately, the price offered was the final one. As for the contract it's states in paragraph L "The price of transportation provided by thr company is based on recent shipments which were made on similar routes. The price may change at the time of assigning a Carrier due to the Mechanical failure, inclement weather, carrier's schedule, or Acts of God, or other circumstances.". We do not reject our responsibility and hope for your understanding!

Do not use!!

DO NOT USE THIS TRANSPORTATION COMPANY!

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a breach of contract and unauthorized billing in connection with the transportation of my vehicle.

Per our agreement, my vehicle was scheduled to be towed from Miami, Florida to Tallahassee, Florida, with a guaranteed delivery date of Wednesday, July 30, 2025. However, the vehicle was not delivered until Friday, August 1, 2025—two days late. During this time, it was parked at an undisclosed location for approximately 48 hours with my personal belongings inside. I was not informed of this delay or the vehicle's whereabouts until a day later!!

Additionally, I was informed that a $100 charge would be deducted from my account upon vehicle pickup. Upon reviewing my account, I found that I was charged $200 instead.

I was deeply disappointed by the treatment I received when trying to resolve this issue. Instead of support, I was met with blatant rudeness from the broker, John Gardner. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I strongly advise against doing business with this company.

Service cost: $600

Official company response

Dear Customer, the initial payment depends on carrier insurance program. You were informed about that by the agent. We are sorry for the delay that happened. In transportation industrry these situations are not a rare thing to happen. But we want to assure that we were in touch with the carrier all the time.

Terrible. Avoid at all cost!

Not good and corrupt. I booked a transport in April 25 for a Aug 25 delivery. I received periodic confirmations but then nothing the week prior to pickup. Then the date (Sunday) of the pickup came and went. No one called texted or returned mine. Tuesday I finally got a call back. They said they found a carrier but the cost is now 3X. They had me over a barrel so had to proceed. Terrible experience. I just hope this warns others to avoid this company!

Flawless Delivery and Exceptional Service

I had an outstanding experience with the delivery of my car. The driver was not only on time but also incredibly professional, courteous, and clearly took pride in their work. They kept me informed throughout the process, handled my vehicle with care, and ensured everything went smoothly from pickup to drop-off. It’s rare to come across service this seamless and respectful. I felt confident and reassured every step of the way. Truly excellent service—I would recommend without hesitation! Thank you Emma !!!

SONIC Came Through in the Clutch!

My niece goes to school a few states away and she had her SUV break down on her just a couple days before she was to move out of her dorm for the school year.

We were suddenly faced with a travel emergency where we needed to get both her and her car back home or her SUV would be impounded.

Thankfully Christian at SONIC was able to match us with a driver at the last minute who was able to transport her SUV within our budget

We couldn’t be more appreciative of how much time and energy Christian put towards making sure we were well-taken care of. 5-Stars!

Long distance move Utah to Massachusetts

I shipped my vehicle from Salt Lake City, UT to Boston, MA, and thankfully, it arrived in one piece. However, the stress I went through until I actually saw the driver, you can’t even imagine.

I first contacted the broker (John) and scheduled a pickup that was confirmed with a driver. At the last minute, the driver canceled because another customer backed out of paying, so he scrapped the entire shipment.

At that point, I was cleaning my apt, packing, and now trying to find other shipping options all at once. John worked hard to find a new driver and did manage to book one, but at $450 more than what we originally agreed on. I didn’t have much of a choice, so I went with it.

Then, on the day of the new pickup, I texted the driver to confirm the time, and he replied that the shipment had been canceled. He said he explained to the company that he had a headache and might need to go to the hospital. I was exhausted and furious, it was my last day in the city, and I had a flight to catch. I had to quickly figure out where to park my car.

Thankfully, I was able to leave it with some people I knew, which helped me calm down. Then, unexpectedly, John called back and said he found another driver who could pick up the car in just a couple of hours.

Overall, it was a very stressful experience but to be fair, it wasn’t John’s fault. He truly did his best to find a solution quickly. I’m sharing this just so others know what they might experience when shipping a car.

Very Satisfied

Huge shout out to Stefan Davis. When I needed to transport my truck from Colorado to Kansas on short notice, I was given the run around by 2 other companies. Stefan worked diligently and stayed in contact with me and negotiated the best possible deal for my short notice needs.

The driver was punctual and worked with me to coordinate delivery/sign off with my wife at home.

I will most definitely use Sonic (through Stefan) again for my next move.

Excellent Transportation Company

I was really nervous about transporting my 1980 Chevy C10 from Colorado to California. A different transportation company was asking for my title. Felix Elmo assured that nothing extra was needed besides my keys.

Felix was really calm & extremely helpful. He found a driver that unfortunately had a delay, which I had no problem with, but Felix was quick to look for another driver to meet my expectations.

Felix kept in contact with me, without being pushy, to assure me that the transportation was going well & was ready to answer any questions that would come up.

I would definitely work & recommend with this company for transportation. If needed to, I would definitely request to work with Felix Elmo again. THANK YOU FELIX!

Absolute nightmare for car transport

Sonic Auto Transport was an absolute nightmare to deal with. They bait you with a low quote, then jack the price up over 200%, claiming it’s the only way to get your car shipped. Even after paying more than double the original quote, my vehicle was still delayed by 10 days.

To make it worse, they tried to pacify me with a $50 “discount”, which is insulting given the massive price increase—and that discount wasn’t even properly applied. I paid dramatically more for a service that was late, unreliable, and poorly managed.

This company shows zero accountability, terrible communication, and clearly prioritizes extracting more money over honoring agreements. Do not trust the initial quote. Do not expect timely delivery. I would never recommend Sonic Auto Transport to anyone.

Service cost: $1400

Official company response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet the level of service we aim to provide, and we completely understand your frustration.

At Sonic Auto Transport, our role is to act as the middleman between you and the carrier. While we work diligently to secure reliable drivers and negotiate fair, competitive pricing on your behalf, the final cost of transport is ultimately determined by the carrier based on factors such as driver availability, route demand, and timing.

We pride ourselves on transparency and clear communication. As outlined in the contract, the initial quote provided is an estimate and may be subject to adjustment due to market conditions. Although we make every effort to communicate this upfront, we understand that any price change can still be disappointing.

We sincerely regret that we did not meet your expectations regarding timing and overall experience. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we are committed to using it to improve our communication and service moving forward. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns.

Fraudulent Business Practices

Contracted to transport a vehicle from New Hampshire to New York beginning Monday, February 16, 2026. At the time of booking, clear instructions were provided that the vehicle must be retrieved no later than Thursday, February 19, 2026. The dispatcher confirmed a scheduled delivery in New York City at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on February 19, 2026, I contacted Sonic to inquire about the status of the driver and the vehicle, as no updates had been provided. I received no response. I immediately contacted the pickup location directly and was informed that the vehicle had not been retrieved.

Throughout the remainder of that day, I made multiple attempts to contact Sonic for clarification regarding the delay and failure to perform services. My calls and communications went unanswered.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. that same day, a representative identifying herself as Elizabeth contacted me. During our conversation, I addressed the company’s lack of responsiveness and the failure to complete the scheduled pickup. Elizabeth advised that she was unable to assist further and stated that Albert would contact me directly.

During that conversation, I clearly instructed the company to cancel the pickup entirely, as the agreed deadline had already passed and the only explanation provided throughout the week had been repeated claims of driver mechanical issues. Elizabeth acknowledged my request and stated she would notify Albert.

On Friday morning at approximately 8:00 a.m., Albert sent a text message stating that he had scheduled a pickup for the following Monday. I immediately reminded him that Monday was unacceptable, as the required deadline had been Thursday. Despite my repeated instructions to cancel the order due to non-performance and repeated rescheduling throughout the week, Albert disregarded my requests and instead referenced a separate Manheim scheduling document that omitted the pickup schedule I had originally provided.

Despite receiving multiple clear cancellation instructions, Albert proceeded to charge my credit card on Saturday morning at approximately 8:39 a.m. without authorization. Subsequently, he sent an email on Monday, February 23, 2026, at approximately 12:51 p.m., stating that he intended to charge my card again, despite prior notice that the service had been cancelled due to failure to perform.

Additionally, at approximately noon on Monday, the assigned driver contacted me directly to advise that she was unable to retrieve the vehicle due to a New England blizzard, further confirming that the service had not been performed within the agreed timeframe.

Based on the company’s repeated non-responsiveness, failure to perform contracted services within agreed deadlines, repeated rescheduling without authorization, and unauthorized credit card charges after cancellation instructions were provided, I believe this matter warrants investigation.

Consumers should exercise caution when engaging this company’s services. I also have voice recordings and voicemails and more text messages and emails as well

Official company response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.

We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and any inconvenience caused. We acknowledge that communication during this process was concerning and understand how frustrating this experience has been. Please be assured that this issue will be reflected in Albert’s performance review to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

However, we would like to clarify several key points regarding the timeline and process:

While you initially contacted us on February 16, the paperwork to officially book the transport was signed on February 18. This delayed the formal start of our scheduling process.

The weather conditions during that week were extremely challenging, which affected our ability to assign a driver immediately. We did everything possible to arrange a pickup as quickly as circumstances allowed.

Per the terms of your agreement, the broker has up to five (5) business days from the first available pickup date to assign a carrier. Once the driver was assigned, confirmation details were sent to you.

Regarding the reservation deposit: once carrier assignment details have been provided and driver assigned the deposit is considered earned, final, and non-refundable. By submitting the deposit, the customer authorizes Sonic Auto Transportation to begin carrier dispatch services and acknowledges that labor, time, and resources are immediately committed to secure transportation. In this case, two drivers were assigned: the original driver canceled, and we promptly assigned a second transporter to move your vehicle. Regarding the contract you signed, we fulfilled our obligations, and we are deeply sorry for the delays and inconvenience you experienced.

We regret that the service did not meet your expectations and understand the frustration caused by the delays and lack of updates. We appreciate your detailed account and supporting documentation, which we will use to improve our communication protocols going forward.

Thank you for your understanding and for giving us the opportunity to clarify our policies and the circumstances surrounding your shipment.

Sonic Driver Wrecked My Tundra

I hired Sonic to transport my brand new Toyota Tundra due to the responsiveness of David. My original quote for the delivery was shorter and cheaper than everyone else. Normally I don’t select the cheapest option, but this time I made the mistake and chose Sonic. After paying the initial deposit David informed me I would need to pay an additional $500 and it would take an additional week to get my truck. I reluctantly agreed and anxiously waited for my truck. On 9/3, a week late, I finally received my truck, but I had to drive 45 minutes away from the original agreed upon location. What was supervising was the driver chose to unload the truck in a very busy small location bs the large open parking lot near my house. As expected the driver drove my truck into something and caused over $2700 in damage. Now a month later Sonic is refusing ignoring my calls and texts and refusing to pay for the damage. I fear my only solution to getting my truck fixed is to sue them. I would highly recommend staying away from Sonic.

Worst Shipper EVER!

Wish I had read these reviews before I signed with these people. Right from the start this Tim Cunningham slips a word in that he'll let me know the final cost even though the contract clearly states $450.00 and this was after he was begging me to sign with them. He even text me after I sign still begging for my business. Now they're a no show and we have people just standing around and this Tim starts arguing with me claiming he might pick up today or tomorrow? REALLY? Claims they move 25+ vehicles a day? I'm done with these people. He tried to say I can't cancel? I warned him not to touch my credit card or I'll file criminal charges.

COMPLETE SCAM

This is the most unorganized, unprofessional shipping company you would not even recommend to your worst enemy. We agreed on a rate, only for the driver to inform me that he had had a brake failure and could not come to pick up the car. I called Sonic and was told that since they are a third-party company (Broker), they have nothing to do with that. In summary, they told me, "We are not responsible for this and do not care what inconvenience this might have caused you." They confidently said to me that there was nothing that could be done. I pay a cancellation fee of $400, or I get a different quote with an additional charge of $505.

I went ahead with the quote. I had to endure stress before my car was picked up with constant calls. I only learned from the carrier about the lack of communication between Sonic and the contracted carrier. Sonic stopped answering my calls and told me to figure everything out. I was charged an upfront fee of $400 even before the driver showed up - 3 days late - to pick up my car (As aforementioned, there was a complete lack of communication between the two parties). I know they would come and write an extended apology essay in response to this review as though they are what they claim to be. Enough of the empty words; you either close down your company and provide opportunities to those who can serve humans better, or you change your completely unorganized and unprofessional service. No one thrives on your empty words.

To everyone out there, do not fall for this scam. THIS IS A SCAM. If it were possible to give a negative star rating, I would not hesitate to do that.

Dear Customer, please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused. We want to assure you that we did our best to negotiate the price and talk the driver down so he could make a discount for us. As an auto transport broker, our services are to arrange transport for the customer's requested route. This means we'll negotiate on the customer's behalf with a huge network of carriers and work with them to service your specific route. The pick up was scheduled for Friday. And it is full responsibility of the driver to inform you about any delays. Our shipping agents don’t work at weekends, so it was the only reason of having lack of communication over weekends. On Monday Paul was in a constant contact with you. As for the $400, we have never charged your card before the actual pick up. Please check with your bank account that information. We value your feedback and will work to improve our communication and service. Thank you and have a great day!

I’m glad that I decided to go with Sonic’s transport. I was feeling over whelm with phone calls and text with different company. Just so many to choose from. After research, I decided to go with them. Victory Wenzel at Sonic transport really helped to ease my mind. I had a lot of questions, this is my first time shipping a car. He explained the whole process and connected me to a professional transporter. I was always able to call him or text him with any concerns.

This was my experience. The first driver that was supposed to come out had a flat tire, so that was cancelled. Then all of a sudden, I was bombarded with lots of phone calls and text with offering to transport my vehicle. Some of the new price was doubled or even tripled what it was originally agreed on. After many negotiations, Victory Wenzel was able to find me another transporter that agreed to a price that was close to the original. My car was transported to its destination on time with no other issues.
