Long-distance move from California to Oregon

Worst Company Ever!

The list for all the bad things about this company are too long to post.  Please read ALL the reviews that are as mine, because you can bet the others are MADE UP by the Company and employees! There is even a Facebook page, Virgin Van Line Victimes. THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS COMPANY! THIS IS THE WORST COMAPANY EVER. Having to moving from CA to OR, on disability, a fixed income, after undergoing major surgery, to recover, I could not drive, and had to hire movers. I hired this company to move all my belonging which were all put in a storage unit, prior to. They left things behind, bed, patio set, too many to list, but have picture of it all, not knowing until it was too late, and everything that they brought, was unloaded from the truck. They were late. They held my things hostage and charged me $1000. EXTRA, WHICH I HAD TO PAY IN CASH OR I WOULD NOT GET MY THINGS. They would put in a storage unit, where I would have to pay for it daily, until I PAID THE EXTRA $1000.00 My things were just thrown in boxes, ramdomly. Outdoor items with my good clothes that were just thrown in. They BROKE a lot of things. Some being antques and handmade items, that cannot be replaced. Boxes were damaged. Smashed, curshed, etc. as if they had been thrown around from truck to truck, not just on one truck but several. The LIE. They charge, quote you one price, then again, when it comes time for delivery, the CHARGE YOU MORE AND WILL NOT RELEASE YOUR BELONGING UNLESS YOU PAY THEM IN CASH. Once the deal is done, you cannot talk to anyone, they give you the run around, and continue to lie to you about EVERYTHING, even become RUDE and HANG UP ON YOU. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME, STRESS, UPSET, ETC., DO NOT HIRE THIS COMANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH CROOKS! THEN HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THIS. THERE HAS EVEN BEEN, AND ARE IN THE WORKS AGAIN, CLASS ACTION SUITES AGAINST THEM. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!! DO NOT EVEN CALL THEM. READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS, THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH!

Local move within California

Bait and swicth.

Danny the sales person quoted us a price of 5000 to move us from Santa Clarita to Tenn,The day of the move the supervisor charged us 300.00 CASH for extra packaging and billed us 200.00. Danny and I walked the entire house he gave us a binding agreement he told us he would bring a 53 ft truck. He called 2 days before the scheduled pick up date to push it up we agreed he said it was because he wanted to be there and that day worked best for him ( he never showed up). a 25ft UHaual truck and 3 guys showed up loaded the truck in 4 hous 85 items didn't make it on the truck because the truck was to small. They informed us they would be calling us 48 & 24 hours out to let us know our home was on the way we never recieved a call. On 4/6 we received a call letting us know the truck was in town.  The driver that dlivered out home was completley incompantant. He couldn't back the truck into the facility my husband had to  back the truck into the storage facility. Item after item came off the truck off damaged. The driver went to sleep while we had to help unpack our own home into the storage facility.  We have over 200 photos of damages they gave our home to another company that we had no knowledge of this, we did not approve this, and we never knew that that they would be doing this. Complete Bait and Switch. Behond poor service. .

Long-distance move from Oregon to Colorado

Nightmare!

We were told by the Department of Transportation that what we experienced is extortion. Scheduled delivery 8/15, picked up at storage unit 8/17 OR, arrived 9/26 in CO, boxes damaged and seals broke. Items that didn't belong to us were packed inside boxes that the seal was broken or lid broken on box. (We haven't gotten through everything yet. We were waiting for arrival for a month to book a flight to PA to visit mom with dementia.) By the time things arrived, we decided we would have to unpack everything when we returned from PA. Missing items; Yamaha Surround System, New Tire, heavy duty car jack, the back to our queen size wooden futon frame. We were told by the driver John that it would be arrive in 7-14 days. We found out weeks later, our things were put in storage in Van Nuys, CA without us being notified due to they had no truck available in Oregon traveling to CO. Communication and/ return phone calls were rare. We never got an update without having to beg for one, and when we did get in touch with them they treated us as if were in the wrong. We were constantly chasing them down to get information. The BBB couldn't get a reponse either. We were basically treated with extreme rudeness. The inventory form listing items had little to no description or mispelled words like Sukey (suitcase) (see attachement), all hand written. They charged more and we never got a contract to sign. When we called about the missing items from their very own inventory list we were told "that was impossible". My last conversation with Carrie..She told me that I should have had the driver put our items back in the storage unit in Oregon and hired another company. And then the best of all that she shared with me was that customers that didn't complain or file complaints with the BBB was taken into consideration.  The full story can be read at the Better Business Bureau page. Sam the sales rep was great until everything went wrong. After that she diappeared and we never heard from her again. This was the biggest nightmare that we could ever imagine. Oh yes and the owner this entire time was traveling, while we "camped" in our home for a month!  .

Long-distance move from California to Oregon

Do Not Use - Worst Movers Ever!

This is the WORST company ever. I had to fly ahead, due to just having major surgery. I left the move in their hands. The entire experience was horrific, beginning to end.  They lied about the fees and charged me $1000.00 more!!  They left a lot of my things behind, including my expensive patio set, that was beat up, from them, even Beds.  They were days late in getting it to me, and would not give me my things without paying them, in cash. They said they would leave it in a storage unit that I would have to pay for, plus, pay them.    Then, if all this was not bad enough, upon opening the boxes, it was a horrific site to see.  Things thrown in the boxes, clothes with outdoors pieces, a lot of broken boxes, with broken items, some handmade and cannot be replaces, as if they just tossed everything in, then tossed it in the truck.  The baggage claim at the airport does not hold a candle to these movers.  DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  Moving is hard, emotional enough to deal with, without having to deal with this, and NOW, TAKING THEM TO COURT!  DO NOT USE THIS COMAPY. Many more pictures if you need them.

Virgin Van Lines !!

I moved from CT to IL 3 weeks ago and decided to move with Virgin Van lines after receiving calls from several companies. I must say overall I am very happy with the move, one great thing about this company is that the price they gave me and the price the actual total was a 250 difference which was surprising because every time I moved in the past my price always doubled or tripled. Another great thing about this company is my sales rep Tal, she answered all of my questions promptly and I am extremely satisfied with everything!!    .

Long-distance move from Oregon to California

Bordering on criminal.

Received a full quote for a 3 bedroom apartment, gave a detailed and accurate list of all items in apartments.  Packed my own small items in durable rubbermaid plastic totes.  Received a quote for just over $1400 for a move from Portland Oregon to Southern California.  On the day the movers arrived they were late, the foreman (Orrin or something like that) then told me the price would be almost $3500 because it took up more space than expected (Even though there were NO additional items beyond what the quote had).  Please note this is more than double the original quote.During the move the walls of the apartment were damaged as was the floor.  The foreman refused to disassemble one of my beds telling me I'd have to do it because it looked too hard and that they'd have to come back another day to pick it up.  This delayed my move out by a day (which I was charged for) They then packed the bed the following day into their Budget Rent-a-truck. The Foreman asked for payment in cash and refused a check or credit card or anything that could be traced.
The foreman then said that the truck was full and to expect delivery in 3-4 days.  15 days later I call the office and their dispatcher says "Tomorrow or the next day for delivery"
18 days later I call the office and their dispatcher says"This Friday for Delivery"21 days later I call the office and the Dispatcher says"ok, next thursday or friday for delivery, your stuff is just arriving in California"Where had it been for almost a month?   Last I checked there are no states between CA and Oregon. When the stuff finally arrives the bed that they made me disassemble is totally destroyed (side rails literally snapped in half)Our rubbermaid totes are cracked, have holes in them or have had their tape cut off and re-taped indicating they've been rummaged through and two parts of one of our other beds are missing off the inventory list to which I'm told "Make a claim".  In addition 3 or our 5 lamps were broken, my le cruset cookware was broken as were a good number of the plates (keep in mind they packed this box).  Nightstand leg was snapped off and our mattresses (which we had bagged and wrapped professionally) were absolutely filthy. The two men who delivered the goods said this was typical of Orrin and his crew and urged me to make a claim against the company.

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Very Very Hard to Reach Them After The Move is in Progress.

Very very difficult company to reach one the initial move is complete. Guys who came to do the stuff were great guys, on time, but since then it has been a challenge to speak to anyone about our stuff. Our salesperson has mysteriously vanished from the earth, she no longer answers her email, we cannot reach her by phone, and the people who do talk to sound like they are talking out of a time can held together my string. If anyone from this company is reading this, my wife has been through a lot moving out there to relocate, and she would just like a professional person to speak to her and care about her items. This is a corporate move, and we are seriously going to tell her company to cross these guys off the list if someone does not take the time to talk to us properly. I await someone who cares to talk to me. Thanks.

Do Not Use This Company.

This was the worst experience I have ever had yes WORSE! In addition to the poor communication starting the day they picked up. Filed a police report at day 35 for failure to communicate (not responding) When the men who dropped off my items finally arrived they informed me that they didn't even work for the same company I had hired. 75% of our belongings that did show up where broke and damaged, 70% of our boxs where opened and rummaged through (unless every box broke and they had to reta[e them) not likely! several items are unaccounted for with NO explanation what so ever! They have failed to follow up on any calls since then as well. I have filed criminal and civil charges against this company! Do NOT trust them with your personal belongings. Please feel free to contact me if your interested in filing a class action suit.. .

Long-distance move from Washington to Nevada

Never Again.

We moved from Washington to Nevada and the truck showed up a day and a half late with a Budget rental truck.  Communication between us and the driver/helper was very poor as they did not speak very good English. Five and a half  hours later they had the truck loaded and gave me the news.  My estimate had doubled from what I thought it was going to be per Mary in the office.  Because of the fact we were already a day late getting out of Washington I had to sign the paper so we could get on the road.  It took me three days to talk to somebody in the office about this. Delivery day arrived.  Two different drivers and a different truck.  So my stuff had been reloaded onto another truck in LA.  The condition of my stuff was very poor.  Boxes had been crushed and things went missing.  I had half a dozen glasses broken, two of my good china plates broken.  My living table is gouged (wood), one of the mattresses is ripped, my headboard is gouged, I am missing one of my kitchen chairs and my stepstool.  I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.  Needless to say this was a move from hell and I will NEVER use Virgin Van Lines again.  I would NEVER recommend anybody else to use them either.

Long-distance move from California to Oregon

Totally MIA.

I was told by the sales rep, John (who quit or was fired within the two weeks between my quote and my move) and the driver when I could expect delivery.  When the truck didn't show on that date, I called the office.  It was a Friday afternoon.  Sam answered and basically assigned me that task of contacting the dispatcher, Danny.  I called repeatedly and went to voicemail every time.  She had no other ideas on who to call.  When I asked for a supervisor I was told they were out on vacation.  I tried using the email on the company's website and it bounced back.  That's it.  No delivery.  No phone number to call.  No valid email address.  Of course, I'm frustrated that the delivery date was changed without my knowledge/consent.  More importantly, I am (more than) frustrated that Virgin provides no phone numbers or email addresses.  Once they have your stuff there is no communication.  .

Long-distance move from Washington to Alabama

Stolen Items! Stay Away from this Cmpany.

Some of my packages to be delivered were searched through and items were stolen. Also an entire package is missing and was not delivered. I booked Virgin Van Lines online to move my household items from Washington state to Alabama. Two of their movers picked up my items. The actual truck that they used to pick up my items was a Budget truck and not a "Virgin Van Lines" marked truck. When I asked why, the driver said because the 18-wheeler would not fit in the apartment complex. Mary (1-800-790-5405 EXT. 106), relocation agent of Virgin Van Lines provided my estimate. I have paid a total of $1213, plus an initial $25 cash tip given to the pick up driver at the time. On Wednesday 5/22/2013 another driver, calling himself "Jacob" delivered my items to Alabama He was driving a red 18-wheeler with white trailer. There were no markings saying Virgin Van Lines.   The dispatch person goes by "Danny" (provides phone # 1-408-500-6602), but shows up as 1-818-982-2579 on caller ID. However Mary refers to the dispatch person as being "Dave" and provides the same phone # 1-408-500-6602. This can be verified per email correspondence. I also have voicemail messages from him referring to himself as "Danny." I believe it's likely "Dave" and "Danny" are the same person. All these people have foreign, possibly Mexican accents. When I started to discover my items were searched through and some missing, I asked the delivery driver Jacob about it, and he initially denied it w as possible. Then he said it w asn't him, and that it probably happened at the warehouse. Even before I realized items were missing, I noticed most of the boxes had been opened and poorly retaped. Before I said anything, he already was explaining the condition of my boxes being due to "poor packing" w hich was a red flag because I hadn't said anything. I also have over eight years experience w ith packing, shipping, and warehouse merchandising myself. My items w ere well packed, and well taped. Even some of the items security taped and placed inside boxes had apparently been searched through. At one point the driver even brought someone else's box of belongings (clothes) inside, but I informed him that those items did not belong to me. He returned the box the the trailer. He told me to call the company before he left. I called Mary, who transferred me to the dispatch person. I believe that was "Dave" or "Danny." I told him my boxes had been opened and rummaged through and items were missing. Even a lock I had on one suitcase was completely missing, indicating they somehow removed the lock to search through it as well. I said I was going to call the police and they insisted that I not do that, which is a red flag to me. They did not want any police involved at all. Too bad I had already paid and signed the delivery papers. As I w as calling the local Police Dept., Jacob was leaving. I have documentation of all this, including photos of my items, before and after, as well as photos of the movers, and it has been forw arded to the police. I have not received a phone call after my initial conversation w ith the dispatcher and delivery driver and agent on 5/22/2013. I have called and left messages to no avail. The Police is investigating.

Long-distance move from California to Maine

Great company, will use again..

I moved from southern Ca to Maine in March and I contracted Virgin Van lines. I needed storage for 2 months and 2 weeks ago I received my belongings and I would like to thank Virgin Van lines for everything. I was very stressed and overwhelmed with this move and Virgin Van lines made it so much easier. I will use them again and will advise anyone who is moving cross country to use them as well. They were great, my belongings arrived with no damages and the price was just right. I am back in California for a business meeting and I wanted to take the time to give a good feedback on the great job they did. Tal was my relocation specialist and she is great to deal with..

Long-distance move from Washington to Colorado

Stay Away!! do Not Use This Company!!

I have never come across such blatant dishonesty, and total disregard for other people's property, time, money, or business. I can't believe this company is still in business. The positive reviews for Virgin Van Lines, I suspect, were written by employees. And here is why I think this. One of my delivery drivers was very apologetic for the condition on my property and said that he is constantly embarrassed by the condition of the things he is delivering. He also told me that the owner, Danny, does not do business honestly. I was told that Danny thinks it is funny when customers complain about broken or missing items. This is what happened with my move; I was quoted an estimate over the phone for $1100. When the driver, Owen, loaded up the truck he came back to me saying that I had more items than originally quoted. I did, but not many. The estimate jumped to $3700. More than three times the original estimate, for an additional 8 medium size boxes. I was panicked because I could not afford this, and asked them to take the few things they had loaded off the truck, and I would pay them for the day, as I still had a self-move truck on hold, and two weeks before I had to vacate my apartment. The driver negotiated several times with me, calling Danny each time, in the end bringing the move cost down to $2000. Before leaving Owen flat out refused to write in the new price on the bill of lading. When I called to settle the matter, Carrie, in the office, instructed him to write in the new price, he relucatantly wrote the new price, then threw the pen on the ground and yelled at me, saying, "You just want everything". On top of everything I was told that there was not enough room for my dining table and chairs, which were included in the original estimate, and dis-assembled in order to take up less room. I was told that they underestimated the space needed and brought too small of a truck. Also, I was told when signing the bill of lading that I should sign the waiver of "Full Replacement Value" because no-one uses that, and it's not neccessary. Yeah, now I see why he was so interested in swaying my decision to opt out. I was not given a delivery date, and when I called to request one I was not even asked for my name or reference number, Danny just asked "what state to what state?" then said "Wednesday or Thursday next week". That didn't happen. When I sent an email asking what was the delivery date, I never recieved a reply. When my things finally arrived, 37 days later, the damage to my property was extensive. A table missing a leg, screws and nuts missing. An industrial sewing machine that had a self oiling pan had been stored on it's side, indicated by metal legs that had been bent to a 90 degree angle, leaking quarts of oil out of the self oiling pan. Boxes marked fragile were completely split on the sides. A large shelf unit on casters, 3 of which were completely ripped off. Broken porcelain, glass, and  glass frames that had been wrapped in tons of packing paper. All my boxes looked as if they had played kick-ball with them. My mattresses, that I wrapped in mattress bags, soiled with the bags torn. And to top it off, missing items, including a stereo, Roku box, a huge wooden framed mirror, and the stand for my dress form. When I contacted Danny about the missing items he asked for a lot number and said he would call in two days. That was two weeks ago, and I have not recieved any communication. This is the worst, most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. I felt like I was dealing with the Mexican Police. No integrity, no conscience, no morals. I cannot stress enough how sorry you will be and how much I do not believe ANY of the positive reviews. They are in such stark contrast t  .

No star, They are Theives,Liars,Rude and Unprofessional.

I have been working with this company sense 2012, we moved and left our things in our storage. finally able to get things moved the pick up date was set. The driver called when he arrived and informed me the cost would be $2300 more then my binding estimate. I told him NO and to leave. Spoke to relo rep tried to get things straight. Driver called me back cussed at me very verbally abusive. then proceded to tell me he could do it for $800 more. I again told him no his super then called me as I told him how rude his driver was offered to move us for only $800 more. Agin I said no return my key. He said he could send another driver the next day. My answer NO. 1 week later I called to pay storage fee's and was told my things were gone. STOLEN by Virgin Vanlines. I called the super who then was rude and abusive to me and told me I had to come to California if I wanted our things. I again told him NO. I think they don't understand that word. anyway a long story Short I ended up settling a price just to get my items. Might I say at lease $7000 of stuff is either missing or broken. Plastic totes cracked in half. Has anyone ever tried to  crack a plastic tote? My husband is a Vet 20 years military we moved alot so we know how to pack for moving. Never once had so much stuff broke or missing. I have filed a claim with the BBB also Movingclaims.net and might I say if I am not satisfied I will be going to court. Worst ever don't use please.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Stolen Mattress, Terrible Communication.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend working with this company under any circumstance. Read this review and save yourself the money, the headaches and the lost items. The other reviews are 100% correct and we sincerely are trying to save you the experience that we’ve already been through.

For starters, my wife and I were moving to Houston from Sacramento and our move date was June 30. I got a call the day before the move to see if I could move the date to July 1 because they absolutely wouldn’t be able to make it on the 30th. Reluctantly, I complied. They then showed up 2 hours late on July 1.

During the move, the movers stacked boxes too tall outside of the truck and they eventually fell over. A box spring, standing upright in the street also fell over and was damaged. At this point, I saw some loose pieces in the truck that turned out to be part of a bed frame and a futon. If I didn’t get in the truck and pick them up myself, they probably wouldn’t have made the trip to my place in Texas. A cabinet was also completely damaged upon the load-in to the truck.

After everything was loaded in, the price of our estimate more than doubled with a not very scientific guesstimate of cubic footage by the lead mover. All of our items were packed into the truck and we assumed were on the way to Texas.

Mary, the woman who secured my business, told me that our belongings would be in Texas in 4-14 days. That seemed reasonable to me. After inquiring when our belongings were going to arrive, I was told around July 18 and then around July 23. After 14 days had passed with no delivery or update, both days came and went. On July 24, I got in touch with the dispatcher/manager Danny and he told me that my belongings had not even left California. For 23 days, our things sat in some warehouse and no one told me.

After July 24, I reached out daily to Danny to figure out when my things would arrive in Texas or at least be on the road en route. Danny rarely answered the phone and rarely returned phone calls when he said he would.

On August 5, Danny said our things would be in Houston on August 8. They eventually showed up on August 10, but our king size TempurPedic mattress was missing. Alan, who unloaded the truck in Houston, signed a document saying the mattress was missing but later told Danny that he had delivered the mattress.

From August 10 until September 5, I went back and forth with Danny, Shawn (the guy who loaded the truck in Sacramento) and Alan (the guy who unloaded the truck in Houston) to figure out where the biggest item we owned had vanished. No one had an answer and the three began to pass blame to each other. They eventually stopped answering my phone calls.

On to the claims process. We filed a claim for the stolen mattress through MovingClaims.net which we were told would be a 30-120 day process. We filled out all of the necessary paperwork for missing items (mattress, plastic bin of about $500 worth of books) and thought we had a pretty good chance of being reimbursed. Finally, on December 12, we got an email saying that we had been awarded $148.00 for our missing/stolen items. Based on receipts, we estimated the cost of the items to be $3300.

In Summary, Virgin Van Lines arrived over 24 hours late to pick up our stuff, broke our things while loading them, charged us an additional $1150 more than the $1950 estimate, delivered our belongings in the ridiculous span of 41 days, and stole our most costly possession (a brand new mattress). Throughout the process they demonstrated a complete and utter lack of concern for the service they said they would provide us by rarely even answering the phone. In hindsight, we should have stopped the process on July 1st when they broke our belongings as they loaded them. For that we will have to take the lessons learned. But our hope is that this review will prevent everyone else in the country from signing up to use Virgin Van Lines in the future.

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Horrible scandalous company.

Beware! Every good review is a setup or bogus just to convince & lure people in to take their money & not deliver their household goods. We are victims of this scandalous moving company. Our goods were in a storage in New Jersey getting ready to be auctioned off because the moving company hadn't paid them in 3 months. We had to hire a lawyer because it had already been 2 months that our goods hadn't been delivered to us. Google the company name along with New Jersey 12 news. Several families recently from all over the country had to fly up to New Jersey to retrieve their household goods.

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Will I ever see my belongings again?

Arranged for pick up in CA on 8/19. Driver arrived in a Budget rental truck. Loaded the items and then told me the cost was going to be over a thousand dollars more than I had been quoted because I had more stuff, required more services from them and a long carry.
Requested delivery date in CO was 8/26. That day came and went, along with every other day for a month. When I call the company, they tell me "next week". They tell me they will call me back with the driver's phone number and never do. But they won't tell me where my stuff is.
At this point, I have no reassurance that I haven't lost everything I own. Everything.. the things I use day to day or only need once in a while, the things that were new, the things that were old. The things that had tremendous sentimental value to me. Will I ever see these things again?

Long-distance move from California to Oregon

A Costly Mistake.

Virgin sets up your contact but hires out to move your stuff.  We made multiple calls to schedule our time sensitive pick up. Our contractor's truck was  jammed with unpacked belongings.  Our boxes were not going to fit. He was rude and inflated the prices in the contract. We phoned Virgin twice..no response. We finally asked him to leave.  What a nightmare!  We have contacted CPUC .

Great Professionalism!

The moment I talked with Carri the sales person of Virgin Van Lines over the phone, I knew that they are no ordinary movers. I was right. They came on time, packed, moved and stored my all belongings with great professionalism and they were very fast. They took very little time for a big move. I just loved their approach towards the job and I liked the way movers interacted with my kids. In short Virgin Van Lines is well worthy to hire.

My Bad Experience With Virgin Vas Lines.

I strongly advise people not to move towards this worse Virgin Vas Lines Moves. People frequently go to these movers just for their name that sounds great to deal with their moving Services. The Virgin Vas Lines has a worst staff and worst communication with their customers. And I have used these movers and experienced a very bad incident. I have asked their people repeatedly about the safe moving but they carried all wrong way. It’s a worst experience with Virgin Vas Lines movers.

Long-distance move from California to New Jersey

Very Bad experience.. Totally Regret my decision.

Almost everyone I have spoken to at Virgin Van Lines was friendly and did their best to answer my questions and address my concerns. But from here it's all downhill. - My items took almost 2 months before it arrived. (they said it would be 5-10 business days)- When my items arrived I was missing 5 different boxes. - All my items arrived in terrible condition. The boxes showed obvious signs of abuse and neglect. - Throughout the entire process my phone calls with Virgin Van Lines ranged from friendly, raging lunatic, to absolute disgust. - The folks I worked with were Julie Robinson, Michelle, Carri (supervisor), Danny (dispatch guy). - Danny doesn't know anything. He has lied to me so many times that I stopped counting after my 5th phone call. He says it'll arrive by X and when it doesn't happen he gives another date, again and again. I ask him where my items are and he says New Jersey, the next time it's in Pennsylvania, and so the story goes. The fact is, Virgin Van Lines is one of hundreds of moving companies out there that outsource their work to subcontractors with an extremely high turnover rate. These subcontractors don't care about your items and customer service doesn't exist. I am not sure there is good moving companies out there but do not allow VIRGIN to touch your possesions.Don't make the same mistake I did by choosing this company. One of my biggest regrets ever.

Long-distance move from Utah to New York

Run Away.

I actually picked this company based on good reviews from this website- now I'm convinced the good reviews are written by the company employees.
Moving with Virgin Vanlines has been a complete nightmare. On the phone they are kind and understanding, but when you call with questions or problems they are worthless. They would always assure me everything was just fine, promise to call me back and I would never hear from them. It got to the point where I refused to hang up and said I would hold for as long as it took for them to get their act together.
Additionally, there were TONS of hidden fees. Upon delivery of my items (which were 3 weeks late) there were damaged boxes and dirty furniture- which they said was a result of having to store the items because I wasn't available for delivery (a complete fabrication).
Furthermore, it is extrodinarily disrespectful and inappropriate to argue with a woman about business matters. I called them multiple times about these "hidden fees" and they refused to talk to me about it- to the point where I was extremely frustrated on the phone and threatened to call the cops. They quickly assured me I could call if I felt necessary- which I do.
Basically, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are jokes and frauds. If you need to move across country- rent a Uhaul and do it yourself. Heavens knows I will never let someone move my things again. .
