Long-distance move from Hacienda Heights, CA to Twin Falls, ID

Second time using United Transportation

Fortunately we’ve had an unset time to make our move out-of-State and thus are making our move in parts allowing us to be able to live in both homes. This being our second load using United Transportation Moving and Storage …our first load was a bit chaotic due to we were new to the whole “moving procedure” ….after that first load we learned the in’s and out’s which made this second load a great deal easier. We had the same crew at pick-up (which was nice to see them again) …they arrived promptly on schedule, listened intently to my concerns and were extremely thorough and knowledgeable in caring for our precious antiques and breakables - now I just sit back and wait for delivery. One more load to go and I fully intend on using United Transportation on that load as well …at which time I shall be updating my review, so stay tuned.

Use a reputable company!

Please use a reputable moving company. Pay the few extra hundred dollars so you get a professional company who doesn't haggle once all your items are on the truck (the guy in charge called his boss and said we had no more than 450 sq ft but in the end charged us for 500 sq ft), doesn't require payment to a random phone number through Venmo or zelle, doesn't mistreat and cause damage to your items (many items were damaged but the most frustrating was my baby's mattress her great grandmother bought for her. They folded it in half and taped it and I had no idea they did this until items arrived), doesn't force you to sign a document stating you will not sue them for any reason after they've loaded all your stuff, doesn't ignore your calls and concerns, doesn't over charge you for the job (our delivery driver said our cubic feet was 50 less than we paid).

Please, pay a reputable company that gives you a delivery window, answers phone calls, has a working voicemail system (because this company does not), has an insurance option that pays more than $.60/item, takes payment using a debit or credit card (we paid the deposit with a card but weren't allowed to do that for the rest of the payments), loads all the items on the quote list (this company tried to stop packing and I still had 8-10 items unpacked that were on the list), uses their own workers and trucks (this company showed up with their own truck but delivered with a one way rental). Need more information to make a decision? Please message me. I can verify I'm a paid customer with my signed contract.

Made move go smoothly

I am so happy I went with United transportation for our cross country move. They brought enough manpower and a big enough truck to get everything loaded quickly and efficient.

The driver Hector did an amazing job and delivered my belongings fast. I receive the highest level professionalism throughout the move. I would like to thank the Sales team Tami and John for all of their help, the movers, Bryan, Alex, and William. Let’s not forget about the dispatcher Ben, he was always ready to help. I will be moving in the next five years and I will be using United transportation again.

Extremely Unprofessionaly packed items

Last September United moving Co. Moved my families belongings to Texas from Dan Deigo. They stacked heavy boxes on top of boxes labeled fragile & dishware. They PACKED ITEMS BY just dumping them in the box. We had a artificial Christmas tree packed with a bottle of water loose light bulbs, the legs from a wheelchair WITH NO CUSHION & NOT WRAPPED IN BUBBLE WRAP. We had alot of broken & damaged property. Some of the Christmas lights on the tree don't work now. We had broken plates, I had a expensive plant stand which was cracked & broken. Broken candle holders, broken vases, broken cups, They packed trash but left other things we wanted. They left all our yard tools, There's a missing DVD player, a special coffee cup (Christmas gift), a missing napkin holder, file cabinet missing, ladder missing, They use people they pick up off the streets who have no experience in packing. They Don't even pay attention to box labels saying fragile. WHEN WE got to Texas they used a subcontractor. They demanded the money upfront & wouldn't work until they got it. The demanded tips & to be paid extra. They didn't even want to set up the furniture. They moved a couch in my mom's room & when I told them it goes in the living room they didn't want to move it back out, asking for more money. I set my prescription glasses down they disappeared. This move costed $10,000 which they demanded up front & then had nerve to demand tips. Tips are given for the service that the client deems earned & at their discretion. They are not mandatory. This company WAS only concerned with money. They were not concerned about our property or its safety. They left the house a complete mess, tape was everywhere, furniture blankets, & I even helped them get all their blankets & clean up their mess. They stacked all the FRAGILE BOXES ON THE GARAGE FLOOR & PUT 2 & 3 HEAVY BOXES ON TOP OF THEM LEAVING THE BOXES CRUSHED & COLLASPING FROM THE WEIGHT. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOUR BELONGINGS!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, MONEY HUNGRY, & CMPLETE IDIOTS!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....

Smooth Move

I reached out to united transportation in all hopes they would be able to help me because we moved from Nevada to Texas. I am so glad I came across them because my move was so smooth, professional and all my items were handled with care. I honestly was scared because of my valuable items but everything came in exactly how they took it. They are very professional, and always communicated with me with every step of the way. I was delighted that I could call and get an update, and they would have it. Definitely give them a call and let them take care of yours! I’ll be giving their information to friends and family.

Excellent service

Booked United Transportation, I need to move my mom asap and they were highly recommended by a friend. I called their office and a nice lady by the name of Tamara answer the phone, she was very helpful. She helped me make the reservation.

The crew showed up on time, they were nice and help me finish the packing. I’m telling you they were efficient and hardworking. Their packing skills exceed mine, and I’m glad they were there to help me.

I’m not only happy, I’m relieved know that United Transportation is taking care of my mom precious heirlooms. Alex was very patient with 7yr old mom. I would definitely recommend United Transportation to any one moving. A little secret; they offer Senior Discount!

Do not use this Business

It was the worst experience for us from start to finish. Our items were stored with them from 8/23/23 to delivery on 1/30/24. They only delivered 40% of our belongings. 60% was either stolen or shipped somebody else. United could not tell us what happened to our lost belonging. We tried to file a claim with them but wanted arbitration because they did not want to give us a fair value for our belonging. They will not return e-mails for refund for storage or moving costs.

Long-distance move from California to Washington

They destroyed my desk and blamed me for it.

I had fairly negative experience with this company. They destroyed my desk (worth $1000) pushing it up the stairs and through the door frame and scratched the wall. Then the foreman actually blamed me for the damage, arguing that I asked him to bring it up. At no point did he say: “I am afraid the desk will not fit through the door/hall, so we have to place it elsewhere”. No, they ignored our suggestion that if it looked like a tight fit, then the desk could be further disassembled.  Instead they just started pushing it and told us later: “Sorry, it did not make it”. This is very unprofessional. They were late both during pickup and delivery. And as a result they were rushing: I could not trust the guy to assemble my bunk bed because he was not careful about it and I was afraid he would break a window swinging the parts of the bed. In fact they assembled no furniture at all, even though it is in the contract.   They lost a box of my tools. And of course, they tried to cheat me with a surprise charge for loading/unloading because my move was not a straight delivery. They knew the dates of my move when they gave me an estimate, but did not include that charge into it.

Local move within California

- Under quote and then Overcharge.

NO STARS, IF I  HAD THE CHOICE I WOULD GIVE A NEGATIVE RATING AS I WANT INNOCENT PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF THE CHEATERS! United Transportation Moving and Storage is a total rip-off!  United Transportation Moving & Storage under bids estimates to get work and ignores what is written into the contract Overcharged!! I contracted with United Transportation Moving & Storage to move my household items from Simi Valley, California to Sunnyvale, California in February 2015. We contracted for a set price, an (binding) NTE to be exact. NTE means Not to Exceed.  A Not-to-exceed deal means that the company agrees that your final price will not exceed the sum you agreed upon. This was done a month prior to the move, and confirmed no additional quotes would be needed as the move day approached since it was an NTE. I had very clearly mentioned several times to one Barbara the Sales Consultant that I personally will be driving from San Jose in the morning and that the truck driver should come between 12 noon to 1:00 pm.  On the day of the move day, the dispatcher a very rude to the core Roger called to inform me while I was driving to Simi Valley at 8:00 am that the movers had showed up at the Public Storage facility to move my stuff in-spite of several communications and explaining to Roger that I had clearly communicated several times that I was leaving from Sunnyvale at 7:00 am to reach Simi Valley after 12 noon.  Roger kept calling me and harassing me on phone that I have to pay $500 more for not being on the pickup site at 8:00 am.  I tried speaking to Barbara who I was told was no more working for the company.  Later when I tried calling her thru' another phone she answered the call and said that she had stepped out and was back again in the office.  I explained to her the conversation between Roger and self and that he was complaining that I was not at the site and he was not aware of the time for pick up and he was yelling and shouting at me on the phone.  Barbara assured me on the phone that she was sorry and mentioned Roger was a "jerk and talked [EDIT]" and to ignore him.  These were the literal terms used by Barbara about Roger.  Secondly upon reaching the spot the driver called Roger and Roger said that the job was underestimated and the price is going up and gave me the ultimatum of either paying the increase from $800 to $1450 or having them walk. I immediately contacted my sale person Barbara whom I was told was no more and was fired and transferred to other representatives Roger (the dispatcher who is rude and mean to the core) within the company. Long story short they said, Pay or we leave. Unfortunately, since I was leaving a leased property I had no choice and so my move needed to be that day so they twisted my arm into an increased price, which I told them I would debate on the other end of the move.  No Communication! When my stuff was to be delivered on March 30th, I was very frustrated with United Transportation Moving & Storage as there was constant lack of communication as well incorrect communication! As if moving was not stressful enough, they force you to continue to reach out to them for information (arrival, delivery, driver info, storage, etc.). There 24 hour delivery notice, turned out to be no notice at all! I was not informed by the driver at all and I kept calling him and with no response as I was informed by Roger and Barbara that I have to pay up first the balance money even before the delivery and the driver would be arriving in 15 minutes time.  I was at the facility waiting for him from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Then I was ordered by the driver to pay additional $175 in cash for using the elevator.  He was not ready to budge till I had to go to the bank to fetch the money and pay him before he even started off loading the truck. Stolen and Damaged Delivery items! Upon delivery of my household, I noticed that my Wii and Wii board were all missing, in addition a number of other items. Additionally, a number of items were significantly damaged including my dining room table (driver told us the warehouse must have dragged it), my Fan stand (broken), missing bed hardware, coffee table (large dent and deep scratches), the list goes on. Lastly, I asked for a receipt, time and time again approx 10 calls to them, I still do not have the receipt. In spite of charging me the full inflated amount United Transportation Moving and Storage charged my credit card additional $206.00 without my authorization.  I tried to contact them with no luck and have not responded to my emails either.
