Long-distance move from Marina, CA to Canyon, TX

Liars thieves AND incompetent.

I can not say enough bad things. We paid for the pack/unpack.. But then they claimed I 'turned it down' and we had to do it. We paid for the full insurance.. A YEAR later they have done nothing but ignore and belittle us. They lost over 25% of our stuff-- All our wedding gifts, our baby clothes, our pots and pans. 100% of the "high value" items that I listed by name are gone. What they did manage to deliver, weeks late, was damaged. And since they are a conglomerate, everyone just points fingers at everyone so they can just take your money and run-- And your stuff. Horrible people, horrible service, and a horrible nightmare. Then you can't even sue them because of weird interstate laws. So they just get away with murder.

Long-distance move from Cocoa, FL to Tacoma, WA

Frank Evans Horrible Rep United Movers Group.

After getting out of a horrible situation with National Moving and Storage in South Florida, my husband sent out an inquiry and my phone started blowing up. I spoke with Frank Evans and he asked me to go to the DOT website and was explaining the difference between a broker and a mover. It states his company is a mover. Gave me a line that he'd be with me every step of the way. I shared the prior experience with National and he assured me he would not let that happen with my move. He gave me his cell # and everything. The problem with that is it does me no good if you won't answer it. Frank Evans gave me a price and guaranteed it would not change. He was in Illinois and me in Florida so I emailed pictures of what I was shipping. It was a partial move, about 40 pieces. Gave me a big song and dance how all shipments are contained as to not allow things to get separated.

Well moving day came and the crew showed up in a rental truck from Enterprise. The crew were very nice and polite. They did an outstanding job of wrapping and caring for my items. After they were done the foreman came and sat down to do the paperwork. He told me the my items took more room than what I was quoted and it would cost more. I tried to call Frank Evans and he conveniently did not answer his cell. He also told me not to buy third party insurance because I had $50k coverage. But what he doesn't tell you is it's .60 cents a pound up to the $50K, so that in the end would do absolutely do nothing should something were to go missing or get damaged. I to this day do not understand why he would steer me away from the option to purchase the third party insurance. At that point it was to late. Once your goods are picked up, the move has begun and no one will insure you at that point. I did try but also found out that because the company actually doing the move had a F grade I would not be able to get insurance anyway, even if I had prior to the move.

I was getting nervous now but I chose to trust these young men and paid the extra $400 and off they went.

I guess the thing that upset me the most outside of Frank Evans' lack of integrity and lies just to get your move.l was to use God to get my move. Why lie? I don't understand. I'd rather have the truth than be surprised. Anyway back to what upset me the most was he took advantage of a quote on the bottom of my email. It says God remembers all Random Acts of Kindness. He mentioned it and then when he finally answered the phone AFTER the guys left, he told me he had just been at the river and had been baptized. Really Frank Evans? I did not care. I explained what had happened and he said he was headed into the office and to give him an hour. I NEVER heard from him again. This was a Saturday. On Monday he dodged my calls and when I did finally get him he lied some more and hung up as in the call dropped. Not on my end and he was on a landline.

So I just stopped reaching out to him because I realized he is a lying piece of trash and I don't know how he sleeps at night.

I still can't believe he exploited God to get a move. Unreal.

This review is very real. If asked I'll be happy to share emails exchanged between myself and Frank Evans.

I highly recommend you find a different company to do your move.

I ended up with a different mover located in South Florida that had a F grade on this website. This company apparently is one Frank Evans' company farms out to.

It actually was a blessing. I had already committed and I put my trust in this F graded company and prayed it would go perfectly. I tell you this because Frank Evans lied to me that they have their own trucks and drivers. They have NEITHER. He also said they had a hub in Orlando, closest to me, but this Miami company actually did the move.

My move did go perfectly and I can't share enough accolades for the F company. I was actually told by the insurance lady I spoke with that the company can take action to change their grade but hadn't.

It's all very shady. If you look for the owner on this website you get a name but if you google the name, the person does not exist. Also there are two addresses listed for this company. If you use google maps to see the building, the addresses appear to be residential property. You try for yourself. It's all very shady.

I mentioned Frank as Frank Evans because if you're reading this review, I do not want you to forget his name.

I'm not going to say run, but do your research before moving forward with this company and I would suggest you do NOT use Frank Evans.

I just don't know how he sleeps at night. I guess he has no conscience and is fine lying his way through life.

What a shame. If you want verification of my experience, and have access to contact me, please do. Good luck with your move.

I have emails and recorded calls with this guy.

Long-distance move from Tampa, FL to Des Moines, IA

UMG Pick-up Process.

We were scheduled to move from Tampa to Des Moines on Oct. 2nd. It was a small 2-bedrm apt. with no appliances or dressers. Our time slot for pick-up to begin was 11:00-2:00. They never showed up. The most frustrating part was the total lack of communication from UMG. We called for updates and were put on hold for up to an hour when the line would go dead. They said expect them late that night - no show. Called Tuesday morning, told we were second pick-up that day. No show again. Finally talked to a supervisor who helped as best she could. Finally spoke to a manager who ”promised” between 6:30-7:30pm and gave me his personal phone # to call if they didn’t show. No show, no call from driver, and David the manager didn’t answer any texts or calls that night after saying he would. Our original salesman who quoted the move and created our contract, Brian Kelly, refused to answer our calls or emails throughout the whole process. Wednesday morning the supervisor was shocked to hear we had not been contacted about the pick-up yet. She began to attempt to call the driver and get some info. Finally, the driver called at 11:00am saying he was driving from Orlando (an hour drive). He called at 1:15pm to say he was “starving” and having lunch and would be there in 15 minutes. He started his shift at 11:00am to come to our place first but he had to have lunch first?? He arrived at 2:10pm to start his day ?? So 48 hours and 10 minutes past the original latest possible time given by UMG for our move was when they finally showed up. The total lack of communication was so horrible - I tried to attach photos of the unanswered text messages below but they didn’t take the format. Do NOT hire this company.

Long-distance move from Arlington Heights, IL to Los Angeles, CA

Less than 1 star.

This is a criminal operation. Bait and switch, estimate is 2X the price and they don't show up. Rescheduled and eventually showed up at 10 PM, 7 hours late on the 4th reschedule. I spent over 3 hours on hold to talk to a customer service rep before giving up. I will be taking legal action against this firm. You do not want to do business with this company. Refusing to provide refund for the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Way better than doing it yourself.

I wanted to do this move as cheap as possible.I didn't think renting a truck or loading a container would be so much money. My sister moved with united and they did the move cheaper than we could have do it ourselves. They came to my apartment did an estimate. They told me they'll pack the fragile stuff we need to do the boxes. I said deal. We took a plane while they drove. They took 10 days which was a day earlier then expected which was fine with me. Thanks a bunch.

Long-distance move from Nebraska to Georgia

Skeptical at first pleasantly surprised.

My friends almost scared me into moving myself but the only ones that could have helped me was my daughter with down syndrome. I couldn't find anywhere that I could get helpers on the other end. I went to the internet and searched cheap movers. I really just wanted help and then I got all these calls from moving companies. United was the only one with a piggyback. They were a little bit more expensive then my lowest bid but they looked really bad online. I didn't trust the whole over the phone thing but I knew I couldn't have had as much space since I measured everything. The day of the move came and I was correct. They over estimated twenty five percent. I barely paid any money on delivery. It was a pleasant surprise.

Long-distance move from Long Beach, CA to Twin Falls, ID

Bait and Switch.

I had the driver of the truck give me a revised estimate of the cost of my move and, imagine, it doubled! I spoke on the phone with his dispatcher and got nowhere, so I fired them and sent them on their way. I lost my $1300 deposit. We have recourse in CA thru the DOJ and the CA Public Util Comm. I'm going to be filing against them and so should every other Californian!

Long-distance move from Oregon to Florida

Blessed to be moved by these guys.

All my furniture was delivered today. I was so nervous that all my stuff was going to be broken. It happened last time I moved and I had to start all over. I was overwhelmed with hot when me and the driver walked through the house and showed me that none of my things were damamaged. I mean a couple of my things already had so dings in it before the move lol they were still there. I'm satisfied with the overall experience it took a day longer but they still made it here in 8 days. The price was a little bit less than everyone else and the movers were very polite.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Last minute move.

I got so lucky with this company. My job decided to relocate me last minute. I knew I was relocating for weeks but I didn't know when. When they finally told me I had five days before I had to be at work in Florida. I typed in last minute moves on the internet and what do you know a bunch of companies could do the move. I wanted a company I heard of so I went with united. Not only did they pick me up with two days notice they delivered in two days as well. I mean it's not that far but still it was a relief to make my timeline in such short notice.

Long-distance move from Ohio to New York

A move well done.

My uncle was relocating to Ohio and had specific requirements for the mover that would be committed to relocating him. He wanted all his possessions to be packed properly to avoid damage. I found the mover for him after researching different moving companies, online and through print advertisements. After reading reviews and checking the company's background, I kept getting directed back to United Movers Group. Their record was outstanding and they filled all of my requirements. They arrived early the previous day of the move and mapped out their plan. They took special notice of my uncle's work tools, which pleased him immensely. The relocation was seemingly done effortlessly, but that was where the company's expertise shined through. I was rewarded with a wonderful meal and a very happy uncle. Thanks United Movers Group!!
