U Pack

We were in an accident right before we were suppose to move ourselves so last minute we had to change plans. Contacted UPack and got a very reasonable quote and they were able to accommodate the dates we needed (pretty last minute) for the pods to be dropped off and picked up. They arrived right on time and placed the pods in great locations for making it easiest for us. They picked up promptly as well with no issues. Love that we had plenty of travel time before needing to be at our destination to receive the pods. When we arrived to our destination we were actually contacted three days early to say hey your pods are here IF you want them early and we said sure thing. Delivery at our ending location was great as well! Nothing damaged, no problems at all. We unloaded them and let UPack know they were empty and the next day they came to pick them up. If we ever move again this is definitely the way to do it. Thank you!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3176

When I had to suddenly move my parents from Puerto Rico to New York I had no idea where to start since I do not live over there. Searching on the internetin my parents area luckily I found U-pack. Right from the first phone call I received excellent service and the customer care agent was very patient with all my questions and never seemed in a hurry to rush off the phone. After putting all my cares and worries to rest I went ahead and reserved a shipping container. I found the cost to be reasonable for the distance and work involved to get it to me so far away. They offered a few alternatives for filling the container either myself or with a moving company. I chose to bring the furniture to the freight location and fill the container myself. After filling and securing the container, I locked it up and put my worries aside that they were going to ship it to me in New York. Once it arrived in New York they contacted me and I made an appointment for them to drop it off on my driveway. Two days later they came back and took the empty container away. Thank you for making the long distance move so easy for me and for having such excellent customer service! To all your team members, thank you very much. It was such a pleasure that every time I called, I didn't have to go through a bunch of prompts, somebody always picked up the phone right away and was able to help me and answer my questions. I just want to say one little thing about anybody that complains about damage to whatever they put into the container. Other than major storms at sea or accidents on the road if you don't properly pack and secure your items in the container for the possibility of being moved around inside, any damage you received is your own fault for improper securing and packaging your container. When I opened my container 3 weeks later not a single box or piece of furniture had moved. Pack it right or pay the price. I will gladly recommend your company from now on.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $1800

A month before moving, we made a reservation with UPack. They were really helpful. They confirmed that they could fit in our driveway (on a corner). Fast forward to moving day. UPack calls an hour before they were supposed to arrive and they said that they can't come. Our driveway is on a busy intersection and they aren't going to be able to drop off the cubes. If they had said that initially then we'd have made other arrangements instead of needing to find moving trucks the DAY OF. Not cheap. And they weren't willing to compensate that mistake. Very frustrating experience.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

We haven’t received our stuff after waiting over a week. We were told it would arrive Tuesday, then it was Wednesday, then it was friday…didn’t hear from anyone all weekend..now we are being told it will arrive Tuesday. (Of the following week) Worst company to deal with. Doesn’t compensate you for their mistakes and just keeps telling you different days and giving you the run around. I’m so disappointed. I should have paid more for a better company. Do not use upack!!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4500

Our pod was lost for 10 days, then arrived a week after that. The truck finally came to deliver the pod and the truck was too big to leave the pod at the house. The pod was taken back to the warehouse and I was told to figure out how to unload it and get the stuff out. They had no other trucks to deliver the pod. The warehouse is closed on weekends, so I had to take off work, pay for a U-Haul and get movers to help load. I was told I could come from 6AM to 11 PM. When I called to let them know I was coming the time changed from 8AM to 7PM.

I still do not have the pod.

The 8-10 day delivery estimate is going on week 4. Not to mention that they are not going to deliver it at all.

Call anybody else to help with your move

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6300

Outstanding concept and delivery. The best moving option and saved me $8500.00. Allied wanted $11,500.00 to move my already packed and wrapped household goods 687 miles. U-Pack moved me for less than $3,000.00. I would recommend this option to anyone who must move and wants to do so on a budget. I had to hire packers as I have ALS, but it was a great option. Should have used U-Pack recommended packers but didn’t, big mistake. Packing your boxes correctly and completely to prevent crushing and ensuring you pack the trailer tightly is essential to a good result. If you pack loosely and use half filled boxes, you will cause your belongings to break in transit. This type of move is clearly a do-it-yourself pack/move to save money. Poor packing leads to broken belongings. If you can’t pack correctly, don’t use U-Pack.

In New Mexico, Never use All My Sons to pack the trailer for you. Promised 3 people for 4 hours at $149 per hour only 2 could make it on base because of a criminal record, and took 7 hours at $1802.00. They drove 16 miles round trip to my house and charged $149 destination fee and a $116 dollar fuel fee they never discussed.

I reacently moved from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Columbus, Ohio. Between the horriable realtor causing not one but two delays on the closing of our home and the scheduleing of the delivery of our truck. I was ready to have a stroke. U-Pack worked with me all the way! Then when we arrived in Columbus, the housing was very limited and hard to find. Again, U-Pack worked with us ALL THE WAY!! I can honestly say that they were the BEST part of the entire move!! I have and would reccomend this company to anyone!!
