Top Country Moving

I'm so glad I didn't sign up with this mover. Their dispatch manager, Chris, quoted me $4100. I told him I wanted to pay $3500 or less. He put me on hold to "see what he can do." He came back with a quote of $3511, 20 seconds later. He proceeded to tell me (without taking a breath) that he was emailing me my moving CONTRACT. I said, "Contract? I'm calling you for an estimate." He told me the quote was only good if I agree to the contract and pay 1/3 of it WHILE ON THE CALL. I told him he was out of his mind and that his 1980's "Boiler Room" approach to "closing" my sale was transparent, shady and uncomfortable. It FELT like extortion. I was looking up reviews and found the one that called this company extortionists and told him so...and hung up. He harassed me for 20 min with call backs from different numbers. Each time I blocked the number. Finally, I picked up and said, "Call me again and I'm adding harassment to my review." Sure as shootin' - he made another attempt. This is a "boiler room" outfit, staffed by college aged kids who say things like "my bad" and "gotcha" on calls for estimates. The call center is so noisy, I couldn't think - let alone the newbie who originally fielded my call - and it took him 5 min just to get my moving zip codes in the system. RUN AWAY.....FAST! The only reason I gave them a 1 star rating is because NO stars is not an accepted option by the program.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3511

They are a broker moving company that takes their cut right off the top and then it moves down to the local level. They quoted around $2000 for a 1 bedroom apt. to move from Louisville, KY to Little Rock, AR. When the actual movers got there the day of move they said this is not what they quoted exactly and said it would now be over $5000 dollars to move a one bedroom. What a scam. I'm in AR so I'm not paying that. I cancel the move and fly out to pack her up in a uhaul and drive it to AR the next day. I was still charged over $1300 and they never touched anything. Moral of the story talk to someone local to move you not an online scam broker. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

I was having a hard time finding a moving truck and somehow got connected with these people. I was originally quoted about $13,000 for my move but when I told the salesman there was no way I could afford that and that I'd be better off selling all of my stuff and replacing it he was willing to negotiate. He seemed very reasonable and we settled on a price of about $9800. It was still more than I was comfortable with but I am willing to pay for good service, which he assured me I would receive.

Two days before the move I get a call from "Quality Assurance" to finalize the shipping manifest and the move details and suddenly we're back up over $12,000. I wouldn't be able to pay that even if I wanted to so I was forced to cancel. I was foolish enough to listen to the salesman explain the contract rather than just read it for myself. That's a mistake I dont usually make but I was so stressed out about trying to plan the biggest move I've ever made that I was obviously not thinking clearly. Unfortunately the contract states that they can screw you and then keep your deposit (over $3000 in my case) if you don't consent to the screwing. Fortunately I was able to find a Penske moving truck at the last minute and, even with the cost of fuel and loosing my deposit, it is still cheaper than giving these scumbags anymore of my money. Be careful!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $12000

They give you a two day window to pick up your stuff. They called and set up a time 8am to 12 that they would be by to pick it up. When they didn't show by 12:30 I called them and they go "Oh the previous job is taking longer than expected we can reschedule to 2pm to 4pm."I say ok as it is to late to change. When they didn't show again I called. When they finally answered, I tell them they will haft till tomorrow as I was Going to my friends graduation party. They said ok.

So at the party my phone is being blown up by them. The driver is waiting at my place trying to load my stuff. So I go over there to clear this up. I let them pack my stuff come to find out they say the first flight of stairs is free. Come to find out their definition of a flight of stairs is 8 steps. this is not told to me during the quoting as I had told them I lived on the second floor. So that damn nears doubles my price. Then the company continuously had my address wrong on their paper work. They don't get back to you at all. They call you and you better answer or they will blow up your phone, but if you need them they won't answer. I've been calling trying to find where all my stuff they say all kind of scam talk.

They are a broker who sends to crooks

Absolute joke of a company. Asked us when we would like our stuff. We told them the 22nd. When our stuff didn't show up they claimed they "begin to process shipping" on the day we request. Makes zero sense. We have been in our new house without our stuff for two weeks. They finally called to say they would be here either Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon now and no communication.

My wife wasn't able to fly to her friends wedding as she was afraid if she requested a new time for delivery it would be another two weeks without our things.

I can't remember the last time I was this mad at a company I paid money to.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

I was moving from a house and needed to use a moving company. The crew was amazing and considerate of my furniture. They were kind, clean and everything you would want a mover to be. The coordinator I worked with, her name is Hope, was very accommodating and polite and it was all about making me happy and comfortable. When you move, you’re nervous, but Top country moving- went above and beyond and they were just outstanding. I would tell a friend to use them and don’t call anybody else. They were wonderful.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4406

This company signed an agreement with my daughter for a reasonable amount. Took 2 weeks to pick up the shipment to New Orleans from Tucson. Next problem was that my wife signed some docs. at pickup. One was blank and it was explained that a copy would be given to my daughter upon delivery. Well shockingly enough the next company to touch it was Konami who called and informed her it would be an extra 900-$1000 because there was more room taken on the truck. My wife took pics of how much it to. Here's the wrench, they filled in the form she signed with no content and then said she signed for that amount. NOT! So today, another carrier is delivering her stuff 36 days after p/u and the loser delivery guy informed her it would be another $150 and when she informed him that she had a contract saying otherwise, his response "not my contract". YOU SHOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY'RE CROOKS AND NOT HONEST which seems to be the method of the moving industry. They're the new "Car salesman" of business. Cheat you out of all they can get from you because they hold your property hostage. They get ZERO stars. Top Country, you're terrible and your lying crooks. Run away fast people.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2100

Don't use this company. There are so may complaints, I can barely list them in a 3 page letter I am writing to the BBB, all major news networks and every agency responsible for regulating this company. When you sign the estimate on-line, the document disappears so you can not get a copy or read any of the fine print. Then the link to the document is disabled so you can not view it again. They agreed to pick up my daughters stuff on a Sunday between noon and 2pm. They called my daughter at work on Saturday at 11:30 am and said they would be at her home in 30 minutes. When we complained, they essentially said, tough shit. My daughter rushed home from work but the drivers didn't show up until 5:15 pm. The movers were absolutely rude and very physically intimidating.

The salesman lied to us about the price and delivery status, denied being a broker and stated that the movers and drivers used were employed by them. They never told us our stuff would be held at a storage facility in Las Vegas for weeks, used strong arm tactics and the movers physically intimidated my daughter when she asked for an explanation of the price increases. They started yelling on the top of their lungs at her and forced her to sign documents for an increase in price after they already loaded her stuff on their van. They insisted on an additional $1,300.00. It took them almost a month longer than they agreed to deliver. The estimate actually stated that we could "get delivered on the lower end of a 5-21 business day delivery spread. Projected delivery date around the 21st of May." We called each day and was told that that I stuff was put in storage and there was no projected delivery date, and that they had 30 business days to deliver.. The salesperson that did the estimate, simply lied to get our business. We spent weeks calling and asking for a delivery update. We were told that we would get a call when the stuff left las vegas. Apparently the stuff left las vegas on June 4th, but they never let us know. I called on June 10th and they told us that the items were on their way and we would get 24-48 hours notice of delivery. They stated that they had several other customers to deliver for ( 6) prior to my daughters stuff, and we should expect delivery between June 17 and 19. My daughter got a call on the morning of June 12 that the movers would be at her home in one hour. When her stuff was taken off the truck, most of my daughter's good furniture was destroyed (cracked or had large gouges taken out), boxes that were clearly labeled "fragile" were smashed and torn, so that my of the kitchen items were broken. When we called to discuss, the customer service representative (Liz, she refused t o give me her last name or let me speak to a supervisor) was rude, disrespectful and could not have cared less that my daughters stuff was treated so badly. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8321

I've used Top country moving multiple times and I used them for my daughter's move to New York City. I had a good experience working with the moving coordinator and the moving crew did everything they needed to do. They were very courteous and very careful. They picked up the stuff, secured it, delivered it, and put it where I wanted them to. Excellent productivity and they did a great job. I get a little concerned about moving companies, but they were awesome. They were A+.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1987

They are the definition of highway robbery. The quote they gave was a complete lie ($7k turned to$13k).The driver that picked up our stuff told us we were conned by them and threw away $3K that they just pocket. They took no inventory and were rude too.

Top Country told us we'd get our stuff within 10 days of the date we selected. It's been 26 days and counting...

Karma needs to come get whoever is behind this scheme. Is anyone on this a lawyer? There should be a class action lawsuit against this absolutely predatory and deceitful organization.

If you work for this company, please quit if you can and find something that actually serves people. The more people that leave the organization will help crush it.

Things start off great, the sales guys are ALL about giving you their "direct line and cell phone" so you can contact them whenever you need them..until things start going south, then you can't get a response. We booked this company for a move from Las Vegas to Colorado. Were told we could move the dates up, as long as there's ample notice, which, we did. We then waited to hear from them about the actual day the movers would be showing up, to which I was then told" Due to human error, the date got changed but dispatch was never told" so, alas, the day before we are legally obligated to be out of our home, I'm left scrambling. I was then informed by Rachel that nothing is guaranteed, these things happen and can't I just ask to stay a few days longer? We ended up renting a truck ourselves because we were told "I MAY be able to find a truck for you but I can't guarantee it" We moved our own stuff, after telling her they failed to uphold their end of the contract, yet, we still got stuck paying the deposit because of the wording in the contract. We were also informed 2 days before our move that it would be an additional 2,000 dollars with everything we were moving. This company relies on the wording of their contract to save them from being held responsible. DO NOT USE THEM....

To start off the rip!!do not trust these scam artist it's not a company they are like they people that will call you from over seas to scam you take your money and you'll never hear from them again! Rachel and phil to mention are the worst ever phil in particular is a total LIAR! When I was doing my research into a moving company I had seen before that they were possible scammers but I was naive in not making a assumptions as trying to be fair(boy do I wish I could take that back) spoke with phil for a few months before our move the following year and he made promises and everything seemed to go will told me we where getting discounted rates as we explained our inventory in DETAIL!! "Ok, ok, sure you are all set if anything we are here to help(Nope they are not)... time to move I call rachel and she tell me hey we can get you guys earlier than excepted but just make sure you tell the foreman you need your belongings ASAP, because I started my new job in another state. I said ok the following day the third party moving company comes to pick up our items mind you we were not told of this, we were under the impression they had there own truck. ok again no problem. As they saw our home and car you could see they had a plan. So they came and started picking up our stuff and when they got to our sofa, which again we had in out list of inventory prior to all this they said"we cant fit this it's to big, in order to take it we will charge you an additional $700.. we said NO!! The foreman response was "no problem we will leave your items on the lawn we are not putting anything back to which they started throwing our boxes down off the truck and broke one. As I told them to watch what they are doing they started speaking Spanish to each other and laughing so that's when it started to really piss me off. Long story short I called phil he never responded til after 2hrs and just Text "call customer service immediately" and nothing else. Rachel assured me no matter how I try to to fight it and dispute it with my bank I wont be getting anything and they always win because they will take a picture of your house when they pullup regardless if they take your stuff or not. STAY AWAY FROM THESE FAKE BUSINESS ACTING CLOWNS!
