They were easy going!

The movers were knowledgeable and knew how to get the job done in the timeframe. Easy communication. They brought all the necessary equipment along. Can't ask for more and their rates were competitive!

Read their BBB reviews before you book this company.

If I could rate this company with branches in multiple states including Colorado, zero would be more accurate. I used their services in Denver where they have an F rating and trusted other sites instead of the BBB. My guaranteed moving date changed, my estimate increased from $6000 to over $9000 on moving day and a significant amount of my items were damaged. Read any positive reviews on their sites with extreme caution. Upon delivery of my items 2 weeks later, none of my disassembled items were re-assembled b/c they needed to get to their second job of the day. My numerous letters and calls have gone unanswered. I want a resolution and reimbursement for breach of contract. By the way, this happened in April and I won't go quietly.

Good Movers.

There aren't enough great things I can say about Texas Top Movers. My move was done with care and promptness. Edgar and his team arrived on time. I have extremely fragile and expensive furniture and they came prepared with several blankets, padding and shrink wrap. I have recommended Texas Top Movers to two of my friends/family and they had an amazing experience as well! If you want someone you can trust with your valuables, choose Texas Top Movers. You won't regret it!

Disgusting company who steals your items.

If you want your DESIGNER items STOLEN in a move, this company will definitely do it!! Had multiple designer items stolen that cost more than the actual move itself, all stolen. My box was ripped apart and re-taped. Not one one response from ANYONE at the company, which is so disappointing. They blow you up to get the deal and then completely drop the ball after getting paid. I will be taking legal action against this company. DISGUSTING AND UNETHICAL, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!

Long-distance move from Texas to Idaho

Good and bad.

The movers were very professional and packed everything well. Everything arrived in great condition. The salesman who arranged everything was great until after my deposit was made. After that, he no longer returned calls and misrepresented payment terms. I was extremely disappointed with customer service. I was put in an extremely difficult situation upon delivery with my older parents having to borrow money from neighbors to make the final payment. I had been told I could pay everything for my parents on my credit card. Not at anytime was I told there was a cash on delivery term. I would not recommend this company because of my experience.

Long-distance move from Fort Worth, TX to Charlotte, NC

They own Nothing.

This is the moving company other moving companies warn you about. EMPLOY THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK. They say they're local and they own everything from trucks to employees to storage facilities, but they lease the trucks and drivers are subcontracted. The movers work on commission-- an important factor explained later. The only thing I know about storage is that they threatened to put my property in storage, for a fee, if I didn't pay for a 'shuttle' service upon attempted delivery. They own nothing, and I can't count the lies I was told before I gave them a deposit. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD SALES SAYS. I NEVER TALKED TO THE ORIGINAL SALES PERSON, MR. "PROMISE YOU THE WORLD'' MARK STANLEY, AFTER I GAVE THEM MONEY. In fact, the company went dark after they had my deposit. I have no idea who I actually did business with-- Texas Top Movers, Dallas; DDT Transport, Ft. Lauderdale; Movers OPS-- who knows (credit card payment).

The movers work on commission, so it is in their own benefit to upcharge for ANYTHING on moving day, which they did in spades. I actually had less cu. ft. than the estimate, but they charged for 50 more cu. ft. (I had packed my own truck with some of the inventory). These are con artists who argue in circles to make you seem unreasonable. I was called vindictive, as in, "You're being vindictive, which isn't going to help you on final cost." Another threat.

Sales is very convincing and accommodating, until you give them a deposit. Then the tables turn and before you can find out that sales are total liars, you're trapped. "We'll send 3 movers." They sent 2. "Credit card payment on moving day is fine." There's a 5% charge to use a credit card, which is never mentioned or in ANY WRITTEN CONTRACT. Money orders cannot be disputed, which is what they accept.

Sales-- "We offer a secondary pickup within 20 miles for free." Movers-- "That's never going to happen." Sales-- "We don't nickel and dime you for stairs." Movers-- "We're giving you break on the stairs." The 'break' was the actual price for stairs down from an inflated charge. They insisted on moving on the backup date, in a heavy rain, most likely so they could charge me for 2 plastic mattress covers. I had cloth mattress covers. Even though I had to sign a waiver to not hold them responsible for damages, the movers insisted on re-packing my things in their own packing material-- for a fee. I used new boxes, packing peanuts and newspapers for buffers, but was told I used the wrong sized boxes. The mover in charge of the estimate actually said, "What about MY Christmas?" when I told him they were ruining my Christmas with all the fabricated upcharges. Don't forget, they work on commission.

On delivery, the drivers insisted they couldn't get the semi into the subdivision. By the time I realized they had gone into the wrong subdivision, they had already rented a truck without my consent to complete the delivery. They would have been OK in my subdivision-- 18 wheelers are common in the neighborhood for move-ins. They threatened to hold my property, for a fee, unless I paid for the truck rental and extra labor.

Avoid using this company at all costs. These are scam artists, and very good ones. I chose them because they said they owned everything. Turns out they own nothing. There are five complaints lodged on the Better Business Bureau site for this company, for which they have never replied. Now there are six, including mine.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to New York, NY

Stay Away Stay Away.

They were awful. Stay away. Kept charging me more money for random stuff which didn’t make sense. Theyre all complete liars said my stuff would be a live load and it wasn’t. Received opened boxes, broken furniture. They didn’t even assemble my furniture and didn’t move boxes. Left my boxes on the sidewalks of NYC and me and my brother had to move them. Some awful random claims to be a manager with zero managerial skills. Just awful awful awful. Such a waste of thousands hiring these incompetent people.

Stay Away From This Company - if I Could Give a 0 I Would.

I did not hire this company - they were hired by another company, but this was the biggest rip-off I have ever experienced in my life. They more than doubled the cu. footage and price and added all kinds of add-on charges. They had an original date and pick up, kept calling to delay during the day (an inconvenience, but at least communicated), then at 7 pm, said they were not going to pick up, but they would come the next day between 9 - 12. The next day when they didn't show they said I had to call to let them know. When I expressed concern that was not what they said the night before they said "go find someone else". We needed to vacate the assisted living, so we didn't have much choice and I think they used it to their advantage. Furniture damaged, to boot. Was given a 3 day range for delivery, but no update; kept calling to get something better, but even during the 3 days, no update, but the range changed. Delivery was done by 1 person in a Budget rental truck, who was very nice, but it took him a very long time (was not a professional) and he certainly couldn't re-assemble furniture alone.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Seattle, WA

Not a good experience.

First off, I got a quote for around $1500 and asked MULTIPLE times if there would be anything that would cause it to increase and was repeatedly was assured there was no way the quote would be higher.

The movers showed up a day late, and immediately increased the price to over $2500. I decided to let the mover have my couch, and he brought the price down to $2000.

The paperwork said they would take care of breakdown and put things back together, but I had to pay the movers another $120 and let them use my own tools.

I had my things picked up 3 weeks in advance, and they still missed the deliver date by a week.

What a mess..

Long-distance move from Manor, TX to Oakland, CA

Bait and Switch.

I would never recommend Texas Top Movers. After their great sales pitch about owning their own trucks and directly employing their movers, they went silent. The sales and/or logistics team was only in touch at the last minute and then eventually could only deliver my stuff about 4 days after the anticipated date (definitely allowed for in the contract) which happened to be between 11a - 1p on Wednesday - a work day for almost everyone in the world. Thus, I was only able to be there around 6p, costing me money in wait time along with the extra expense of a smaller moving fan as the larger truck couldn't fit on my street. I then contacted them for a final receipt so I could submit to my employer, as I had to pay cash for the final drop, and never heard from them. All my stuff made it, and then end company who dropped off my belongings was very kind (NOT from Texas Top Movers), but overall unfortunate experience and a large expense. Please don't hire Texas Top Movers.

This sounds very similar to the other reviews on here..
