Worst move ever

I have moved over 10 times throughout my career with most of them paid for by the company I worked for. Most of the moves had some minor damage, but this move with Solomon was the worst. Most of the damage appears to be due to the unloading and set up crew that were terrible. But the problems did start on moving day when the truck was too small and they did not bring all the requested packaging materials for the mattresses' and grandfather clock. They also showed up late and then had to work till 11pm before they were done. I would run away from this one if you like your stuff!!

Nightmare come true

Upcharged by over 1200 becusss of extra stairs and “long” carries even though I was very specific in my quote.

But that’s not the worst of it. Upon delivery there were thousands of dollars in damage done to my items. Smashed boxes, scratched and dented expensive furniture and chairs. Completely careless and negligent handling. I suggest you use a company that actually stands by their guarantee- they say they take care of any items they pack themselves with insurance. Now they’re fighting with me over what they packed trying to scheme. Now I am left to writing them poor reviews to try to gain their attention. Tens of thousands of dollars in damage and they claim it’s not their problem. Shame on S&S!!

Disappointing experience with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services

I recently hired Solomon & Sons Relocation Services for my relocation, and I must say that the entire experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment I booked their services, I encountered several issues that left me dissatisfied and frustrated.

Firstly, during the initial estimation, I was provided with a quote of $3000 for the move. However, upon completion, the final bill skyrocketed to $5200. The company failed to disclose the hidden charges for an 18 wheeler truck not being able to enter my community, despite it being possible. This resulted in unnecessary additional costs for shuttle at pick up and drop location ($1100) being passed on to me without any prior notice or explanation. Didn't picked up the call when I call them at a time of delivery. As they already charged at pick up location, I tried to reach out to them on Saturday, but they didn't picked up the call and they never called back. I called them on Sunday at a time of delivery when driver informed that he can not make his 18 wheeler truck, at that time also no one picked up the call.

Moreover, I was shocked to learn that the company claimed my goods were 30% more than initially estimated. I find this discrepancy highly questionable, as the inventory was accurately provided to them during the booking process. It is unacceptable for a moving company to suddenly increase the charges based on arbitrary claims without proper justification.

To make matters worse, I was surprised with an extra charge for the stairs in my new residence. This expense was never mentioned during our previous conversations, and it felt like another attempt to inflate the final cost. The lack of transparency and the continuous stream of unexpected charges made me question the integrity of Solomon & Sons Relocation Services.

Furthermore, when I reached out to their customer care to discuss these issues, I was met with unprofessionalism and a dismissive attitude. The representative's response was that I should have read each and every line of the agreement, implying that I was at fault for their lack of transparency and poor communication.

Overall, my experience with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services was marred by hidden charges, misleading information, and unprofessional customer service. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering this company for their moving needs. Transparency, honesty, and respectful customer service should be the cornerstone of any reputable moving company, and unfortunately Solomon & Sons Relocation Services fell short on all fronts.

Lastly I will tell, I got all my goods in good condition, final moving cost was more than cost of my goods.

AVOID!!!!! Root canals are more pleasant than moving with these guys

I have scarcely met more incompetent people in my entire life. Subsequent to signing the contract, all semblance of professionalism vanished. Evert aspect of this move was complicated culminating in a significant number of articles (of my relatively small apartment move) being received with varying degrees of damage, in some cases so severely it’s difficult to speculate how the damage was even caused. ABSOLUTELY AVOID! I cannot emphasis enough how horrendous this experience was. The only reason to choose this company for your move is if you’re an idiot or a masochist.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Moved this past weekend and they broke half of my stuff including a television, desk, snapped my entire bed frame in half, stuffed lamps into cardboard boxes among other things.

Their response? Not only would they not trash the things they broke, they left all the boxes and trash for me and my elderly parents to have to haul to the dump stating "it's illegal for them to remove the debris from my home". My dad nearly threw out his back having to help me carry all the heavy items.

When I called to speak with a manager? He stated it wasn't in their standard business practice to get rid of the damaged items and they didn't have to offer any recourse.

Don't make the same mistake I did.

$5k in damages for a $4k move...

HORRENDOUS MOVING COMPANY

We used Solomon and Sons to move from Fort Lauderdale to Chicago, and after reading their reviews I mistakenly thought I was in good hands. The final amount they charged us was much higher than the originally quoted amount. They then charged us for more square footage than we actually used in their truck, which we have photos to prove of their dishonesty. Then when our boxes and furniture arrived, the movers that Solomon and Sons hired to unload the truck were extremely rough and unprofessional with our items, causing substantial damage to our items and scratching our new floors. The movers they hired to the final destination, fought viciously in my front yard, causing my neighbors to come out and watch. They also threw a hidden "long driveway fee" at us when they arrived despite being able to see photos of our house beforehand. They knew that once our stuff was loaded on their truck, we would be stuck paying any fee they threw at us! This was a horrendous moving experience, and I would not recommend using Solomon and Sons for anyone. Not only was it way more money than they quoted, but the quality of the service they provided was, in my opinion, extremely poor. If you look on the "Better Business Bureau" website, you can see a bunch of other people that Solomon and Sons massively uncharged above the quoted amount, and I wish I had known that they would take advantage of us in this way before using them! I would leave a 0 star review if I could. In my opinion, they should not be in business and you should not hire this company. I am astounded they are still in business.

Great moving company to deal with! They were clean and wrapped all of my furniture in bubble wrap to keep it safe. They were extremely aware and considerate of my puppy the entire time. I will use them the next time I move for sure.

Reliable and efficient throughout the entire process.

Their movers were total pros! It started raining heavily on moving day and I thought for sure my furniture was doomed. But much to my relief, the team showed up with plastic wrap, waterproof tarps, and also used gloves to keep my items clean. By the end of the move, I was soaked, but my things stayed dry. Bravo to them!

Smoothest move ever!!

The price at Soloman and Sons Relocation Service was very reasonable, which made me happy. I pushed for flat rates instead of hourly rates from the start. The price they charged after they used a video check to look at our things. They got more blankets and did other things that were easily broken, like TVs and windows.
