I wanted to share how positive my experience was with Solomon & Sons during my international move from Miami to Hawaii. From the very beginning, the team was organized, responsive, and clear about the process, which immediately took a lot of stress off my plate. They answered every question I had, kept me updated along the way, and made sure everything was planned properly before moving day.

On moving day, the crew was professional, careful, and efficient. They handled my furniture and fragile items with real care, packed everything securely, and treated my home with respect throughout the entire load-out. The delivery and coordination on the Hawaii side went smoothly, and everything arrived in great shape. Overall, it was a genuinely smooth experience, and I would absolutely recommend Solomon & Sons to anyone planning a long-distance or international move.

Terrible experience. Pay attention to the bad reviews because that is likely what you will experience. They will sell you on something and then it will be a different company and different experience at pick up. They will not work with you to solve the problems. They subcontracted to Revolution Van Lines and it was bad. From longer timeline to tons of damaged belongings. Pushing to sign paperwork at the end up pick up at 11:30pm and unloading at drop off at 3:45am. Pretty much a scam. I am highly disappointed and regret booking through Solomon and Sons.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Solomon Brothers was so unprofessional and disorganized that I feel others should be warned. From start to finish, the process was filled with issues.

They shattered part of a glass stairway during the move and never took accountability for the damage. Closets were left unpacked, and when we questioned them, they insisted the job was complete, even though it clearly was not. To make matters worse, their time reporting was inconsistent; they claimed to spend hours on tasks that simply didn’t match what was actually done.

Although they advertise themselves as being “high-end” movers, they had to be constantly reminded to wear booties and cover the walkways—basic steps that any professional company should know to do automatically. On top of that, their customer care was equally disappointing. Jennifer, in particular, was the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with—unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility.

Overall, this company was far from the reliable, professional service they claim to be. Between the lack of accountability, the incomplete work, and the disorganization, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a moving company.

KUDOS on accomplishing our recent move from Hollywood, FL - Denver, CO successfully. Alejandro, Peter, Artur and Jorge. Amazing friendly crew and hardworking. Wrapping and protecting our items was a breeze for these guys. They completed our move in 8 hours and were off to our destination (Or at least we thought) Turns out our stuff was transferred to another truck (Dennis larger truck) a few days later we received a call from Dennis informing us to get ready to accept out delivery the next evening. He was very prompt in his communication and very careful with the unloading of our goods. I would certainly say this company did a great job on our move. Compared to our last one with Allied Covan this one was much better.

My first 30+ min conversation was with their sales person named Jason. I went through all the details of my inventory, current location, and destination location. I explained to him that I lived in an apt building with an elevator and that they would be able to double park the truck right in front of the building like all Brooklyn residence do when they move. He said he double checked the area and made sure that we would not have to add a shuttle charge to the bill. He also told me that their long distance carry of 75 feet only applies from the front of the building to the truck which in this case was less. I then explained to him that my home at the destination had more then 14 steps. He assured me that stairs in a home don't count.
So after this phone call, I compare their rates and reviews to many of the other companies I spoke with. Solomon and Sons came out cheapest and had the best reviews.
He sends me the contract to sign, and tells me that I shouldn't worry about their stairs section and that I wont get charged. So I sign it taking him up on his word.
I get a call 2 days before my move date from the driver asking me if they can pick up my stuff 1 day early since they arrived in town early. I tell him no problem (thinking if I do them this favor that they would repay me by taking extra good care of my stuff). I take an extra day off from work and get some family members from the neighborhood to help to get the rest of our stuff ready to go go for the movers.
They get to my house and one of the guys start wrapping my furniture while the other mover starts going over the paper work with me. He tells me that they are charging me an extra 150.00 for a shuttle fee, and an extra 100.00 for a long distance carry fee. (he said the distance is from the apt to the elevator and then the elevator to the truck). I call customer service but they can't help b/c the manager is out of the office and he tells me that we will deal with this later and to let the movers pick up my belongings.
I try calling back a few days later to follow up, but they still can not resolve the issue b/c they need the BOL.
The movers come to my house to drop off my stuff at the destination and then charge me an additional 50 dollars for my stairs. I say no problem, i'll just add that to the things to speak about with the manager when I get a hold of him or her.
I had to run to the ER for my son while the movers were unpacking so I left my brother there to supervise. When I get back I come home to see some of my furniture broken. I asked my brother if they told him that they broke anything. And he said that they did not mention anything. (the crib was placed against the wall with the broken foot so that I wouldn't realize that it was broken and tipped over. And you can see from the picture that they tried fixing it with a lousy screw)
I continue to chase the company to speak to someone that can help me, and I finally speak with a customer service agent that tells me that she can only refund me for the long distance carry and for the stairs. She said that 18 wheeler trucks are not allowed on Brooklyn. I send her a link to the city MAP (images included in this review) and I get no response.
By the way, they would only give you a refund if you sign a 2 page documents basically saying that you can't write bad reviews or hold them accountable for anything..
In short, they will come off as cheap and great reviews, but there are a bunch of extra charges that they throw in. And if you try to get refunded, you will only get partial and not be able to write about your experience.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

I used this company for a move from Florida to South Carolina and it was a $5,000 mistake. They may be OK for a local move in South Florida where the rep can come to your home and give you a contract that you can sign then and there. Maybe in that situation you can trust them. But if you tell them what you have over the phone and you have more than what they consider it should be, say a paper clip or set of toe nail clippers, then get ready for a big, expensive surprise.
We had recently listed our 3 BR house with a garage and shed for sale so the S. and sons rep, Jason, was able to go online and look at pictures room by room of what we have before giving us a quote. At that point we had actually chosen another company but Jason warned us that some movers will quote low to get your business and then jack the price way up once your stuff is on the truck so we decided to go with S. and sons. It turns out this is exactly what they did to my wife and I. When the movers arrived they started off saying we had more than what was quoted even before they went in the house. He was somehow basing this just on what I had in my garage, two items being a riding lawn mower and a tiller which were actually on the quote. The driver told me they couldn't pack anything on top of the lawn mower and I would have to pay for all the wasted room it took up (between the lawn mower and the roof of the truck) - when the delivery truck arrived at my new home in SC I noticed there was a lot packed on top of the lawn mower and not one square inch of empty space. - When the loaders were near the end they started asking me what should stay because they couldn't get everything on the truck which was not a semi and was already partially loaded before they got to my house. I had already started a new job in SC, the house was sold and ready to close so I had no choice but to give some of my belongings away. Once the truck was loaded the driver re-figured the price and I was told I had to sign a contract for over $2,000 more than what was quoted. I told him to get his boss on the phone. He said he can do that but his boss was going to tell him to take everything off the truck. I said get your boss on the phone anyway and he did. After going around in circles with his boss it became very clear my choice was pay the extra money or have all my furniture in my front yard on a Sunday night.
So our belongings showed up in SC 7 or 8 days later, I don't remember exactly I quit counting after a while, and first thing the driver ask for the money. You should also know these guys insist on cash or cashier's check, no CC unless you're willing to pay an extra 5 or 6%. I paid him and after that everything was fine. I have no real complaints against the movers themselves, they did an admirable job. Just make sure you know what you're going to pay before the truck gets there.

I used S&S to move from Sarasota to DC. When I spoke with rep on telephone they told me that they will not use a transfer company of my property and that it would be part of 3 different persons property in a semi trailer truck all going to the DC area. I agreed to the contract being told this. I have heard from friends that some of the moving companies do transfers and due to this many valuables are broken. The 3 movers that came to Sarasota did an excellent job in packing. They told me they were going to Orlando to place my property in a semi trailer going to DC. I received my shipment in great time within 3 days. But here is the problem I had. The moving truck that came in was Penske rental truck not as promised a S&S truck. There was a transfer of property done. The 2 movers arrived 3 hours late to time they told me they would arrive, which was 8am. And I had to reschedule the reservation the elevator 3 times due to this. When they arrived, which was 11:15am they decided to take a break and eat lunch in their truck. I asked them where were they the entire morning? Their excuse was traffic, which was BS. Anyway, they were rude to the concierge and to a neighbor in hallway. And last but not least I had broken lamp, glassware, ceramic cookware and a side table. They were indifferent to this.

In conclusion S&S did not hold up my agreement with them on a non-transfer to a sub and never returned my telephone calls afterward to answer my questions. I shalt never use them again.

I hired Solomon and Sons for my move in Fort Lauderdale. They were prompt with a quote and went into enough detail that the quote was very accurate. They were competitive and everyone was very professional and polite.

On the day of the move they turned up on time and made sure they understood exactly what was going where etc.

Andrew, Armando and Joey were my movers and they were fantastic. They took very good care of all my items and nothing was damaged at all.

Would recommend them to anyone!

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Do not use these people if you value your POSSESSIONS or your MONEY. They gave me a quote they promised would be quite accurate based on a visual inspection. it was THOUSANDS MORE and what are you to do once your stuff is on the truck. Ok, we moved on. When delivery day came.. their truck couldn't get to my house so they called and said it would be another $1,600 for them to unpack and load to another truck. ok, we were exhausted and just wanted our stuff. As my stuff came into my house there was SO MUCH DAMAGE. thousands and thousands of dollars worth of damage. sickening and devastating to see my stuff broken, dressers, my daughter CRIB, dishes, heirlooms, all broken. They their truck busted a street lamp outside my house which has still not been fixed. After filing a claim you know how much they are giving me? ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS . a slap in the face. this company is a scam and absolutely the WORST choice you can make I promise you that.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $15000

Avoid Solomon & Sons at all cost! What a dishonest, fraudulent, unethical, irresponsible company. These were not typical moving issues, this was NEGLIGENCE. These were all controllable things that were negligent of Solomon & Sons.

I was moving out of state and they assured me that they would be the ONLY company moving my belongings, pick up and delivery. Not only was that a lie but the company that showed up with MISSING and DAMAGED belongings only had one person show up in a truck and try to extort an additional $1000 from me because he said he would need a "shuttle" truck as he couldn't get near my building with a semi. My building is in a mixed use complex with a grocery store and can accommodate two semi trucks side by side right in front of my door! Once I got him to agree to unload, he then called random people in the area to see who would show up to help him unload which only one person did. This was not a "lets hire a few guys to move me" type move where you pay a few hundred dollars. This was a $4000 out of state move.

Not stacking heavy boxes on boxes marked fragile that were crushed, that's controllable. Doing whatever was done that caused many of my boxes to be ripped apart, that's controllable. Not stacking 20 boxes on a dolly several boxes too high so that they fall off while pushing is controllable. Bringing a door stopper so that when you go to push send cart inside and not crash and topple boxes, that's controllable. Not peeing on the floor, that's controllable. Putting the boxes in the rooms that they go to, controllable. Unpacking the TV that they were supposed to do and not leaving furniture on their sides, controllable. They also tried to extort an additional $200 because he didn't have a way to properly measure the distance to my front door from the elevator and was using an iphone app that he said wasn't working.

I called immediately when the truck arrived to alert them to the issues with my destroyed belongings and at the attempted extortion and I never received a callback. Then I sent an email later that night letting them know that one of their movers URINATED ON MY FLOOR. Someone should have been at my house, same day, cleaning the bathroom. And then the next day someone should've been sent here to move the boxes to where they were supposed to go, unpack and set up the furniture and TV like they were supposed to. None of that happened.

So how are they helping me?? "File a claim with insurance".
Oh..and they also have NO paperwork for my move!

I feel violated and taken advantage of.

I contracted Solomon Bros for a local move in Florida. Two days before my move, they confirmed the movers would arrive by 10 am to load the truck and begin the move. The day before my move, just before 5 pm they called and texted me (I was in a meeting at work so could not pick up the call) and left a message stating the movers would not arrive until after 3 pm to begin my move. This meant they would not finish my move which required a 2.5 hour drive to our new location until well after midnight. When I tried to call them back to say this was not acceptable no one answered the phone, so I had to leave a message. I also responded to the text, but no one responded to either message. I continued to try and contact them more than a dozen times the next day, but no one answered any of the phone numbers listed on their website or returned my calls. I even drove to their location in Ft. Lauderdale and found an empty warehouse with no office or even a sign indicating their business except an empty Solomon and Sons. truck sitting in the parking lot. I had been assured by their salesperson that they have a dispatcher manning the phones 24/7 for customer inquiries. This was a lie. I finally heard back directly from the moving team at 3 pm that they were on their way. At that time, I could do absolutely nothing to change or cancel the move as the contract stipulated a late change fee of several hundred dollars. I went forward with the move because I had no choice if I did not want to pay that fee. They did not complete my move until well after 1:00 am in the morning. My neighbors complained to the management company (I don’t blame them!) and I was fined by the complex. The movers confirmed they had been scheduled for TWO moves on the same day at the same time which was why they had not been able to start my move until they had completed the first one. They also stated this happened all the time with this company. Because they were rushing to complete my move and exhausted from working a 16+ hour day, they barely wrapped anything, dropped furniture in the parking lot which damaged the furniture and put almost every single box in one room in my apt instead of sorting it properly based on the box labels. When I called to complain the next day, they did absolutely nothing for me and said it was my fault that I did not contact them to cancel the move. This company is dishonest, unreliable and incompetent.
