When I hired Solomon & Sons Relocation Services, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but they exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The moving team was punctual, well-prepared, and very professional in their approach. They carefully wrapped and packed my fragile items and made sure my larger furniture was protected during transport. We spoke to S&S to get a quote for our move from FL to CA. Tyler came to our house to see what we would be moving-a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house + a full 2 car garage. As we walked through the house, he looked in closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc & I told him we had items stored under the beds as well. We went out to the garage, & I made sure to point out that we had a large toolbox, refrigerator, shelves full of bins and boxes, lawn care equipment, etc. We asked him to include everything we had in the quote so we could ensure the it was accurate,& he assured us that “the company has such a good rating because they don’t lowball you when they quote a job”. He also said he was going to include packing services & all boxes and supplies needed for the job, transporting everything in a semi which is shared to reduce the cost,& delivery of our items in CA. After doing his calculations, Tyler gave us a quote of $22,366.00. Solomon & Sons wanted us to sign the contract asap, but we were waiting for details to be finalized with work. By mid-August, we received a call from someone at S&S offering us a $4,000 discount on the cost of our move if we signed the contract by August 31, 2024, which we did.

I told our account manager that our last relocation required movers to be at our house for 4 days in order to complete the packing and loading. I was assured that S&S would send extra guys to make sure they were able to complete the work in 2 days. However, when the truck arrived, there were only 4 guys. The foreman asked my husband to walk him through the house and garage and he commented several times that “you have a lot of stuff”. At this point, I was not concerned because their employee had provided the estimate AFTER coming to our house and observing everything in person. We had also donated several carloads of items, so we had less to move than had been included in the estimate. The contract we signed says “This BINDING estimate is based upon the specific items to be moved and services you requested as listed on the estimate. Your estimated price is guaranteed not to change unless you require additional services or add other items to your inventory.” Once the walk through was completed, the foreman spent about two hours working on paperwork while the other guys brought in materials and started working. Once he had completed the paperwork, the foreman told me that because we have “so much stuff”, the move would actually cost over $31,000. (He was claiming that we had 28 bins, 6 suitcases, 1 bicycle, 1 side table, and multiple boxes that were not included on the inventory, all of which the estimator saw when he was in our garage) We had pointed out a few things we would not be taking during the walk through that morning, so after he removed those items, the price was still over $30,000.This was completely shocking, as our total after the discount was supposed to be $18,366. He then “noticed” that we had received a $4,000 discount, and he applied that to the contract he was insisting I sign. At this point, he said we needed to reduce the space we were using in the truck if we wanted to reduce the cost. Our only options were to leave a significant amount of our personal belonging behind or pay the higher cost. I then decided to leave behind our 3 full sized mattresses, one queen mattress & boxspring, our large dining room table with four chairs & bench, a bookshelf, & other various items. The foreman then called his boss and informed him that I was refusing to sign the contract because of the price change, and they offered us another $1,500 discount along with a 25% discount on whatever packing materials they used in excess of what the foreman had included in his updated contract. After the foreman had included this discount and updated our inventory to account for the items we were now leaving behind, my husband signed the contract. I wanted to refuse to pay more and tell them to leave if the company wouldn’t honor the original price, but my husband had to report to work at the new location so he felt that the deadline didn’t allow a delay. Once everything was completed, we were given a final price of $21,807.70. We have to spend thousands more to replace the mattresses and furniture we left behind.

Once our items arrived in California, we were contacted by a local crew that had been contracted to handle the delivery of our goods (NOT S&S, even though they claim they don’t subcontract),& around 2hours after the crew left, I realized that my engagement ring & my husband’s wedding ring were missing from a locked box we had transported ourselves. The moving company never handled the lock box or jewelry, but they were obviously free to move around the house while doing their job. After calling the police to file a police report, we called S&S to report the theft as the crew they contracted was responsible. After a lengthy hold, we were told that “they are not responsible for the theft”. We weren’t even given an apology.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Solomon Brothers was so unprofessional and disorganized that I feel others should be warned. From start to finish, the process was filled with issues.

They shattered part of a glass stairway during the move and never took accountability for the damage. Closets were left unpacked, and when we questioned them, they insisted the job was complete, even though it clearly was not. To make matters worse, their time reporting was inconsistent; they claimed to spend hours on tasks that simply didn’t match what was actually done.

Although they advertise themselves as being “high-end” movers, they had to be constantly reminded to wear booties and cover the walkways—basic steps that any professional company should know to do automatically. On top of that, their customer care was equally disappointing. Jennifer, in particular, was the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with—unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility.

Overall, this company was far from the reliable, professional service they claim to be. Between the lack of accountability, the incomplete work, and the disorganization, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a moving company.

We used Solomon & Sons for a move and the crew was on time, worked steadily, and handled our furniture carefully. Communication was solid and the day went smoother than I expected.

From the first call, the scheduling was straightforward and the estimate was explained clearly. On moving day they brought blankets and wrap, protected the doorways and floors, and took a minute to confirm what was staying, what was going, and which boxes were fragile. They worked efficiently without feeling rushed, and they were respectful in the house the whole time.

Nothing was scratched or damaged, and they placed the furniture exactly where we wanted at the new place. If you want a crew that shows up prepared and stays professional, I’d definitely recommend them. I’d use them again.

Excellent, Professional, respectable, and affordable. Some words I would use to describe our interactions with Solomon’s team. Matt helped us book his move with ease. He sent us a great group of 5 guys, all of whom are great people to have in your home when moving. We had some delays on the way to our destination, but we stayed in constant communication with the driver and were kept informed. We did not have any changes to our bill, and that made me happy to see. Moving is complex and full of pressure. This company took care of us as customers and helped us reduce stress.

Moving is stressful and can be really challenging. I hired Solomon & Sons and worked with Jase, and I couldn’t have been happier. We had several large pieces of furniture that had to be taken out through a window and brought down safely, and the crew handled it perfectly. They were careful with everything and treated our belongings with real care.

We did get cheaper quotes from other companies, but we’re genuinely glad we chose the more professional, service-focused option. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

DO NOT CALL ANYONE ELSE. THIS COMPANY IS THE BEST. We got screwed by another move that never showed up to complete our move ON THE DAY WE WERE SUPPOSE TO MOVE. We got into a panic craze online and called movers, and then found Solomon and Sons. They booked us immediately and came to our rescue. The movers showed up within hours and got straight to work. We ended up going over the estimate, but the company worked with us on the price and kept us happy as customers. 5-star service

The delivery and coordination on the Hawaii side went smoothly, and everything arrived in great shape. Overall, it was a genuinely smooth experience, and I would absolutely recommend Solomon & Sons to anyone planning a long-distance or international move.

KUDOS on accomplishing our recent move from Hollywood, FL - Denver, CO successfully. Alejandro, Peter, Artur and Jorge. Amazing friendly crew and hardworking. Wrapping and protecting our items was a breeze for these guys. They completed our move in 8 hours and were off to our destination (Or at least we thought) Turns out our stuff was transferred to another truck (Dennis larger truck) a few days later we received a call from Dennis informing us to get ready to accept out delivery the next evening. He was very prompt in his communication and very careful with the unloading of our goods. I would certainly say this company did a great job on our move. Compared to our last one with Allied Covan this one was much better.

My first 30+ min conversation was with their sales person named Jason. I went through all the details of my inventory, current location, and destination location. I explained to him that I lived in an apt building with an elevator and that they would be able to double park the truck right in front of the building like all Brooklyn residence do when they move. He said he double checked the area and made sure that we would not have to add a shuttle charge to the bill. He also told me that their long distance carry of 75 feet only applies from the front of the building to the truck which in this case was less. I then explained to him that my home at the destination had more then 14 steps. He assured me that stairs in a home don't count.
So after this phone call, I compare their rates and reviews to many of the other companies I spoke with. Solomon and Sons came out cheapest and had the best reviews.
He sends me the contract to sign, and tells me that I shouldn't worry about their stairs section and that I wont get charged. So I sign it taking him up on his word.
I get a call 2 days before my move date from the driver asking me if they can pick up my stuff 1 day early since they arrived in town early. I tell him no problem (thinking if I do them this favor that they would repay me by taking extra good care of my stuff). I take an extra day off from work and get some family members from the neighborhood to help to get the rest of our stuff ready to go go for the movers.
They get to my house and one of the guys start wrapping my furniture while the other mover starts going over the paper work with me. He tells me that they are charging me an extra 150.00 for a shuttle fee, and an extra 100.00 for a long distance carry fee. (he said the distance is from the apt to the elevator and then the elevator to the truck). I call customer service but they can't help b/c the manager is out of the office and he tells me that we will deal with this later and to let the movers pick up my belongings.
I try calling back a few days later to follow up, but they still can not resolve the issue b/c they need the BOL.
The movers come to my house to drop off my stuff at the destination and then charge me an additional 50 dollars for my stairs. I say no problem, i'll just add that to the things to speak about with the manager when I get a hold of him or her.
I had to run to the ER for my son while the movers were unpacking so I left my brother there to supervise. When I get back I come home to see some of my furniture broken. I asked my brother if they told him that they broke anything. And he said that they did not mention anything. (the crib was placed against the wall with the broken foot so that I wouldn't realize that it was broken and tipped over. And you can see from the picture that they tried fixing it with a lousy screw)
I continue to chase the company to speak to someone that can help me, and I finally speak with a customer service agent that tells me that she can only refund me for the long distance carry and for the stairs. She said that 18 wheeler trucks are not allowed on Brooklyn. I send her a link to the city MAP (images included in this review) and I get no response.
By the way, they would only give you a refund if you sign a 2 page documents basically saying that you can't write bad reviews or hold them accountable for anything..
In short, they will come off as cheap and great reviews, but there are a bunch of extra charges that they throw in. And if you try to get refunded, you will only get partial and not be able to write about your experience.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

I used S&S to move from Sarasota to DC. When I spoke with rep on telephone they told me that they will not use a transfer company of my property and that it would be part of 3 different persons property in a semi trailer truck all going to the DC area. I agreed to the contract being told this. I have heard from friends that some of the moving companies do transfers and due to this many valuables are broken. The 3 movers that came to Sarasota did an excellent job in packing. They told me they were going to Orlando to place my property in a semi trailer going to DC. I received my shipment in great time within 3 days. But here is the problem I had. The moving truck that came in was Penske rental truck not as promised a S&S truck. There was a transfer of property done. The 2 movers arrived 3 hours late to time they told me they would arrive, which was 8am. And I had to reschedule the reservation the elevator 3 times due to this. When they arrived, which was 11:15am they decided to take a break and eat lunch in their truck. I asked them where were they the entire morning? Their excuse was traffic, which was BS. Anyway, they were rude to the concierge and to a neighbor in hallway. And last but not least I had broken lamp, glassware, ceramic cookware and a side table. They were indifferent to this.

In conclusion S&S did not hold up my agreement with them on a non-transfer to a sub and never returned my telephone calls afterward to answer my questions. I shalt never use them again.

I used this company for a move from Florida to South Carolina and it was a $5,000 mistake. They may be OK for a local move in South Florida where the rep can come to your home and give you a contract that you can sign then and there. Maybe in that situation you can trust them. But if you tell them what you have over the phone and you have more than what they consider it should be, say a paper clip or set of toe nail clippers, then get ready for a big, expensive surprise.
We had recently listed our 3 BR house with a garage and shed for sale so the S. and sons rep, Jason, was able to go online and look at pictures room by room of what we have before giving us a quote. At that point we had actually chosen another company but Jason warned us that some movers will quote low to get your business and then jack the price way up once your stuff is on the truck so we decided to go with S. and sons. It turns out this is exactly what they did to my wife and I. When the movers arrived they started off saying we had more than what was quoted even before they went in the house. He was somehow basing this just on what I had in my garage, two items being a riding lawn mower and a tiller which were actually on the quote. The driver told me they couldn't pack anything on top of the lawn mower and I would have to pay for all the wasted room it took up (between the lawn mower and the roof of the truck) - when the delivery truck arrived at my new home in SC I noticed there was a lot packed on top of the lawn mower and not one square inch of empty space. - When the loaders were near the end they started asking me what should stay because they couldn't get everything on the truck which was not a semi and was already partially loaded before they got to my house. I had already started a new job in SC, the house was sold and ready to close so I had no choice but to give some of my belongings away. Once the truck was loaded the driver re-figured the price and I was told I had to sign a contract for over $2,000 more than what was quoted. I told him to get his boss on the phone. He said he can do that but his boss was going to tell him to take everything off the truck. I said get your boss on the phone anyway and he did. After going around in circles with his boss it became very clear my choice was pay the extra money or have all my furniture in my front yard on a Sunday night.
So our belongings showed up in SC 7 or 8 days later, I don't remember exactly I quit counting after a while, and first thing the driver ask for the money. You should also know these guys insist on cash or cashier's check, no CC unless you're willing to pay an extra 5 or 6%. I paid him and after that everything was fine. I have no real complaints against the movers themselves, they did an admirable job. Just make sure you know what you're going to pay before the truck gets there.

I hired Solomon and Sons for my move in Fort Lauderdale. They were prompt with a quote and went into enough detail that the quote was very accurate. They were competitive and everyone was very professional and polite.

On the day of the move they turned up on time and made sure they understood exactly what was going where etc.

Andrew, Armando and Joey were my movers and they were fantastic. They took very good care of all my items and nothing was damaged at all.

Would recommend them to anyone!
