Our experience with smart movers was very good. Alex and his crew arrived on time and proved their efficiency and professionalism. Guys were respectful to our belongings. They securely packed and load all our furniture and boxes, they also unloaded and placed the items in our new residence where we wanted. It was a very successful relocation as none of our valuables suffered any damages. Their prices were reasonable and there were no surprises at all. I highly recommend smart movers because our family was impressed with their high quality service, reliability and positive attitude.

Having Smart Movers Services in our move was impressive and were so grateful for our experience. The team of three arrived on time and got to work right away. We booked the move on short notice and Smart Movers were able to accommodate us and move in professional manner. Movers did an excellent job, they were very efficient and careful with our stuff. They wrapped things with blankets for safe relocation. They also took apart our beds and large table, took great attention to details. We were pleased with the sales rep as well, she is friendly and knowledgeable. Overall it was amazing experience and we would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I used these guys a few weeks ago and it was terrible.

They were rough with our stuff and, just left stuff everywhere in the old house. They didn't bring their own tools, so we had to provide them, and they just left them a mess scattered all over our basement floor! They didn't set anything up for us, they broke a light at our new home, they left a huge dent in our front entry way, they damaged the walls going into the basement, and they complained the entire time. They even drank my pop when they didn't know I was in the next room and then bitched about it being diet (and meanwhile didn't drink any of the drinks we actually set out for them!!)

It was so bad that I'm pretty sure it was just random dudes the company called off Kijiji or something. They had absolutely no uniforms, no tools, nothing. They didn't provide a receipt upon payment either, and told us we would need to phone the next day to request if we wanted one.

It was a small move, from Fenelon Falls ON to Bowmanville ON - about an hour travel. I was living in a small basement apartment with very little furniture: a bed, sofa and love seat, two living room chairs, 55-inch LED TV on a glass-doored credenza/stand. Virtually everything else I packed and boxed myself, taping the boxes and securing them with polypropylene strapping. They did wrap the big items with plastic wrap. In addition, the company was to stop at a self-storage locker 5 minutes away to pick up the remainder of my things, also boxed and packed. About 35 boxes in total. The company was advised several times what was involved and I even sent photos of items to be moved, including the storage locker. It should have been a no-brainer move as I did all the packing.

I was advised that the truck would be at my place between 10 and 10:30 AM - they did not arrive until 11:15. A larger truck than needed, with two movers - one spoke broken English and the other did not know English at all - not sure how they communicated with each other.

The truck leaked oil onto my landlady's driveway and she was quite upset. When I called the company later about this, they advised me to buy an oil drying agent at Canadian Tire and they would reimburse me the cost: $20. I absorbed this cost. It also leaked oil at the destination, but because the driveway was short, the front end of the truck was on the road and leaked oil there, not on the driveway.

The unloading at the destination went smoothly, as I directed them where to put the items in the new house. By about 3:30 pm, the move was completed and I paid them cash for the job. They did not provide a receipt for the money, instead asked my to take a photo of the work order, promising the company would send me an official receipt.

After several days, I called the company about my receipt, which they emailed to me. However, they charged me 8 hours labour which I did not agree with - 11:15 to 3:30 by my calculation was less than 5 hours. In the end, they adjusted the bill to 6.5 hours, presumably to include travel, and refunded me for 1.5 hours via e-transfer.

Overall, I was happy - nothing was dropped or broken. Keep in mind, I did all the packing myself. Would have been better if they spoke English. And if I did not have to ask for a refund after being overcharged. And if the truck did not leak oil.
