Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to South Bend, TX

Move went well.

I thought given I only had a 3 hr window with my building elevator it would be pushing it and I was worried. Markus and bobby worked non stop and got me done in just over 2 hrs. I've been moving often for work and this was one of the better experiences. I will be using you and Penske again next time. Thanks.

Truck loading.

It took over 2 hours to pick up the Penski truck. Problem with the computer systerm that would not allow a new renter to in effect sign out the vehicle. The loaders were about an hour late arriving so the whole timing thing worked out in the end. Just a hurry up and wait situation that made us late driving away with our stuff. Being short of time we did not check the almost empty house to see that every thing was loaded and some things were not loaded but coming back a week later to clean the house before the new owners arrived we were able to take the forlgotten things to Good Will and just bought new tables at the new location. The 2 guys that packed our truck were really efficient and strong. The loading process ran a half hour over the 2 hour limit but the added expense was well worth it. Amazing to me that one of the loaders moved a couch/bed all by him self. I had a tough time moving just one end of couch a few inches away from the wall, those things are really heavy. On the positive side nothing was broken when we unloaded the truck at our destination although the rough I95 road in S. Carolina and I295 around Richmond, Virginia really tossed things around.

Move from Nashville to Macon Ga.

Needed help to move my daughter's one bedroom apartment from a two story complex. The loaders were waiting for us when I pulled the rental truck up. They were very efficient and disassembled the bed frame quickly. I provided the mattress covers and box spring covers and they put them on. In less than one hour they had the truck loaded. When I arrived at my destination the load had not moved at all. Very pleased with the service and I would recommend it.

Totally Satisfied.

I used SML to load up my entire apartment into a 16 ft moving truck. Reserving the move was easy on their website and they called to confirm, once shortly after making the reservation and once closer to the move. On moving day the movers called to let me know when they would arrive, which was right in the middle of the hour block I'd chosen. Once they had arrived they quickly and courteously loaded all of my belongings onto the truck. My furniture faired better when I used SML than when I moved myself and it was done in a fraction of the time it would have taken me to do it. During the move SML called to confirm that the movers had arrived and everything was satisfactory. I can't think of anything that would have improved my experience.

Simple Moving Labor.

I rented a Penske truck and needed movers to load and unload it. Simple Moving Labor is recommended on the Penske site so I thought they would be reputable. Their website assures that all movers are experienced and professional. When I was contacted to confirm my reservation with them the representative again assured me that the movers were experienced in all aspects of moving furniture. With that assurance, I agreed to sign their contract which states that they are not responsible for any damage!
Everything was being moved out of storage, so they did not have to take apart furniture, most pieces were already wrapped in padding and there were no appliances or heavy, unusual pieces.
What should have taken 2 men 2 hours took 5 hours and cost over $600. Several pieces were scratched deeply and had big nicks out of the corners. Two pieces were actually broken. The cost to repair the two broken pieces was $250 and SML has offered $35 as a settlement. Stay away from these people. They take no responsibility for not providing experienced movers.

Not professional movers.

First off I paid for "professional movers" so I didn't have to worry about helping as I had other things to do.  They were unable to pack 3 rooms into a 26ft truck.  I had to stop what I was doing and help them unload 1/2 the truck and then pack the front half again so there whould be enough room for everything.  I personally was able to take what they had as a full truck with no more room for the rest on my belongings and make it to a 1/2 full truck with more then enough room to fit everything else.  These poor kids they sent me had no reasonable packing system to load.  Its not rocket science.  Neither of the "professional movers" knew how to push the button on the dolly and turn it into a 4 wheel cart.  They were unable to pack the truck in 3 hours due to them standing around scratching their heads as to how they are going to fit everything then having to unpack it and re-pack it with my help.  I could have bought pizza and beer for my friends and could have gotten it done quicker, better and would have cost me under $100.  I called to inform them of the issue and was told someone would get back with me.  That never happened!  I posted a blog on their site about the sevices similar to this blog and it was removed within 24hrs hmmm.  All and all don't be fooled by this company there are nothing more then a below average comapny with below average services.  I drove the truck myself so technically there was no pickup or delivery time.  However they were on time for the load.  I have not decided yet if I am going to pay them another $380 to unload me.

Service cost: $760

Official company response

We have already apologized to Mr. Myers for the way that his load went. We do not dispute that mistakes were made, and to that end when he gave us the opportunity to handle the second part of his move (his unload), we went over and above to ensure that everything went as smoothly as possible. We have a signed statement from Mr. Myers indicating that he was extremely pleased with how his unload went.

I am the person from our "web department" who contacted Mr. Myers. I spent two hours on the phone with him addressing his complaints. He indicated his displeasure with his load, and indicated how happy he was with how the unload went. I offered him a $50 refund on his load to make up for what he felt was sub-standard service, and the subsequently asked him if he would be willing to tell the other half of his story (not just the part that he felt was negative).

He happily agreed to do so and at no point indicated that he felt like this was "a slap in the face". I was polite and courteous to him, and at no point did he indicate that he felt that our discussion was anything other than positive.

After our phone call, he indicated to me that he now felt that he had been overcharged. I pulled all of our records and invoices - straight from the merchant processing company - and cross-referenced those with the amounts reflected on his signed service agreement (the amounts he agreed to pay). They were exactly equal. When I presented this evidence to him, he declined to respond.

Finally, as to Mr. Myers "posting a blog on our site": He posted a similar review to the above as a comment on a "moving tips" article deep within our website. It was deleted because it was not relevant to that article. We have a very visible page on our website where customers are able to leave - and view - honest reviews of their move. I explained this to Mr. Myers and he indicated that he understood why his comment was removed.

Once again, I would like to reiterate that we have apologized to Mr. Myers over and over again for what he felt was an unprofessional load. We asked him what could be done to make up for it, and he indicated that doing a good job on the unload would make up for it. We did just that, and he indicated that he was very pleased with how the unload went.

Simple Moving Labor profesional loaders.

I took a new job that required me to move from South Carolina to Arkansas.  My budget was fixed so I tried to do the contracting myself.  I hired Simple Moving Labor (simplemovinglabor.com) to load the truck and to unload it.  While loading the truck, they broke some one of a kind art work and punched a hole in a leather recliner.  They didn't bother to mention it when they did it, they just continured loading. I tried to file a claim with them and was rejected.  I was told all claims for broken items must be done before the movers leave your premises.  That is impossible when I would not even know it was broken until it is unloaded.  The "professional" movers they sent were far from professional.  I would NEVER use this company again.  Now I'm stuck with a $1000 recliner with a hole in it's arm, and two shattered one of a kind pieces of Indian art. Also, the "professionals" places light boxes on the bottom of much heavier boxes crushing the ligher boxes.  At least these were just clothing and a trip to the cleaners for several hundred dollars fixed this problem. Please avoid SimpleMovingLabor.com at all cost if you want your possesions to arrive in the condition they left your old home in. The only thing good I can say about the move is the people from UPack.com who provided the truck to me at a very resonable cost.  Actually the cost of the truck and the driving it 750 miles was less than the cost of UHaul equipment I used when I first moved to South Carolina.

Service cost: $1100

Official company response

We attempted to resolve Mr. Hinman's complains to no avail.

We are very specific about our claims policy. This policy is not in effect to "screw" the customer - it is a requirement of our insurance. Once the movers leave the premises, there is absolutely no way to verify whether any damage was caused by our crew. Our claims policy was CAREFULLY and FULLY explained to Mr. Hinman before his move took place, and he signed a service agreement agreeing to those terms.

Despite the fact that we could not process Mr. Hinman's claim, we did attempt to offer him a significant refund, which he declined.

I find it necessary to point out that at the conclusion of every move, our movers ask the customer whether he or she was satisfied with the way the move went, and the condition of their items. The customer is asked to write these notes down and sign them. On our signed form, filled out by Mr. Hinman at the conclusion of his move, he has this to say:

"They all worked their butts off and did a great job!".

Truth in advertising is a must.

What SML does not tell you is that your helpers are day laborers from a temp service. One looked like a junkie. He tried to convince me to lie on the paperwork and pay him cash. These "helpers" do not follow simple instructions. Unless you are willing to provide 100% supervision of how each thing is loaded, do not use this service. Our furniture was damaged due to not being draped with moving pads. They only did when they were being watched. They broke a buffett door while moving it. They did not tell us. The unloaders discovered it. Our total damages exceed 5000.00. Go with a lic. Mover. You will not regret it.

Service cost: $600

Official company response

Unfortunately, Mr. Rannila is mistaken - we do in fact specify quite clearly that our Helpers service are not professional movers, and are in fact background-checked part-time workers.

We made clear to Mr. Rannila that were he to want a professional, trained moving crew to handle his job, he could choose to hire one of our ProMover crews instead of a Helper crew. Mr. Rannila opted to hire one of our Helper crews of his own accord, knowing full well that they were not professional movers and were in fact part-time workers, and that he would need to guide and direct them throughout the process.

Additionally, we are very clear, both in our advertising, over the phone, as well as on the paperwork that Mr. Rannila signed, that the Helpers must be supervised, guided, and directed by the client at all times *because* of the fact that they are not professional movers.

At no point did we state, or even intimate to Mr. Rannila, that he could or should leave the Helpers to handle the move on their own. To the contrary, our phone logs and our paperwork show that we made it clear that he needed to guide and direct them through the entire process. Our Helpers are merely "hired muscle", again not professional movers, and we make that clear at every point.

SML (Simple Moving Labor) is a licensed moving company (our license numbers are clearly visible on our website), and is additionally a long-time member in good standing of the American Moving and Storage Association.

Simple Moving Labor.

Simple Moving Labor (SML) representative were very helpful and in contact regularly prior to the load day. The load time was confirmed twice and was scheduled for noon. On the load day I was contacted by SML and the load time (crew arrival) was delayed twice. And, they did not meet their second showtime either. A SML representative contacted me twice about delays prior to the last time adjustment and then SML did not follow up after the second delay as they said they would. Loaders arrived at 3:30 and rushed. Thankfully, it was a simple move with mainly boxes.

Greetings Wayne! I'm very sorry to hear about our crew's late arrival as well as the communication breakdown that occurred.

Our most important goal is to make your move as simple and stress-free as possible, and in this case we definitely failed in that promise.

We have worked with the crew that was responsible for your move to ensure that delays like this are few and far-between, and we have also re-tooled our internal communications practices.

I hope that the discount that we applied to your account helps somewhat to ease the burden that we caused.

If there is anything else that I can do for you, please feel free to contact me at customerservice@simplemovinglabor.com.

Wayne, thank you very much for providing your honest feedback. Feedback like yours is what helps us become a better company every day.

Truck packing.

This company is great for anyone needing help moving. However the local moving company they send can make the experience vary. My movers were not on time. They were taking their time loading the truck. One was working hard while the other seemed to be watching him half the time. I helped them load the truck, as it seemed they were milking the clock. Some of the items were crushed and furniture got scuffed and chipped. I told them to use all of the furniture pads and they didn't. A large vase and stained glass terrarium shattered from how they packed it in the truck. All fragile items were labeled. They were courteous and friendly. One of the movers complained that he hasn't gotten a raise in 12 years. He seemed to be fishing for a tip. I gave him a minimal tip. I didn't think that was professional.

Pro does not always mean professional.

My SML ProMovers were courteous, punctual and hard working, but the end result of their services was very disappointing.

When I arrived at my destination I noticed that 13 pieces of furniture had significant scratches, gouges, and other damage to the surface due to the way my ProMovers had packed these items into the truck. This was due to a number of poor packing practices used by my SML provided ProMovers, including: 1) a number of wood items had been packed by the ProMovers next to each other without a blanket or plastic wrap separating the items, allowing the furniture items to scratch each other during the trip; 2) in 1 case a wood chair was placed on top of an upholstered chair by the ProMovers without a blanket or wrap separating them allowing the wood chair to rub very visible holes into the upholstered chair; 3) some of the wood furniture items were placed against the side rails of the truck also causing signifiant scratches to the furniture; and lastly 4) the legs of my dining room table were laid directly on the floor of the truck without being secured or wrapped in any manner causing significant surface damage to all four table legs. I found it interesting that my ProMovers wrapped certain furniture items in shrink wrap but not others even though there was more than sufficient supply of wrap and they were under no pressure to finish the loading effort in a specific time period.

My understanding from my conversations with SML and the documentation provided was that ProMovers were professionals with extensive moving and truck loading experience. This is the reason I paid for this premium SML service and allowed them to pack the truck based on their experience. I now see that the load service I received from my SML provided ProMovers was not of professional quality and has resulted in significant damage to my furniture that will require me significant time and money to restore my furniture to its previous appearance.

SML Professional Movers.

We hired professional movers hoping to avoid any issues.  About 4 hours overtime, truck loaded.  They did not use all the materials supplied.  What I packed arrived in good condition and unbroken.  Furniture loaded by professional movers arrived in terrible condition.  Mirrors broken, curio cabinet glass broken, every piece of furniture arrived with some type of damage.  Refrigerator scratched down to metal, table tops looked as though they had slid across the floor.  washer, 6 month old, damaged, everything and I mean everything had some type of damage.  Obviously, if the truck had never moved, maybe one or two items would have been damaged but that is a little silly.  I will never do this again, next time I will hire a real professional moving company.  I did not read the reviews and that was my mistake!  As for claim, yes, I filed one but because the truck was driven, I received nothing.  How fair is that?  Well, the young men at the unload, were definitely professional in every aspect of the job.  As for the "professionals" for the load, that was in name only, sad to say.  The service cost listed is for the load only, no complaints for the unload.

Very disappointed.

After requesting a third man be added to our loading crew, the young man stood around for more than half the time listening to music. The other two fellows appeared to be working hard and diligent with èffort and sincerity.
Upon arrival, my wife and I were unloading the truck ourselves finding that boxes we had labeled as FRAGILE were on the Bottom of stacks with many of them crushed or damaged. Some of the furniture was gouged or roughed up because the ample supply of furniture pads we provided were not put to use where critically needed for protection.
We were behind our deadline to get the truck returned, so the last thing I had patience or energy for was to take pictures and document damage for lengthy, detailed claim process.
The company did return a small portion of my bill for the third person not being helpful.
Overall we were very disappointed in the effort and business .

Awful.

We used this company 4 times in 1 month and they BOMBED 3 of 4. Damaged our wood furniture on 1st move. 2nd move was the only good one with a great crew who immediately showed us how the first crew loaded the truck wrong and damaged our furniture. 3rd move we had paid for a 3 man crew and got 2 man crew that didn't speak or understand English other than to say we only got a 2 man crew - they were useless as they couldn't understand a word my husband said. He motioned them to follow him and he walked them to their car and waved goodbye to them - this was after he told them to leave and they had no idea what he was saying and just kept smiling at him and nodding yes. I called to ask for another crew and was told we would be billed regardless because they showed up and although not fluent they could communicate - SERIOUSLY? My husband and I ended up loading the truck on our own. 4th move we paid for 3 man crew that was supposed to arrive between 8-9am - they never showed - called company 10 plus times and got a different story each time - was told 15 mins away for 5 plus hours - a 2 man crew showed up almost 7 hours late - my husband and I had unloaded the 16 ft truck on our own except 7 heavy items I couldn't lift. So frustrating and disappointing after driving from the west coast to the east coast. The company did offer us a discount which included the penske voucher (how does that even count?) we got but after driving for 4 days and having to unload the truck on our own to get it returned on time and being lied to the discount doesn't really help or make up for all the problems. I wasn't satisfied after talking to 2 different supervisors there but not sure anything will make up for all of the frustration, stress and problems they created and caused. I called Penske who referred them for our move and told them they should really review their vendors better. We should have learned the 3rd time but not knowing anyone where we were going and being told the company wanted the opportunity to make up for the 3rd move I foolishly talked my husband into it and went with them. We are done and will not use them again - I learned my lesson - if you do take the chance and use them I highly recommend you make sure you have a back up plan in place so you don't get stuck like we did.

Great Move.

I just want to give a great big shout out to my movers (who drove over 50 miles all the way from Savannah, GA to St. Helena Island, SC) who were so willing to help me the best way possible to make my move a great one. There was no job too hard for them to consider. From an 800 lb piano down a flight of stairs to a concrete angel, they worked diligently to ensure a safe and careful move. They were kind and super organized. Loved their sense of humor while they tackled these big jobs! Thank you!

Do Not Use Sml.

WHAT AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!

Do not work with this company!! They DAMAGE your furniture and then the claims department doesn't even care!! The workers are always late and rush through the job! I had a few 20-year-old boys come and help with the move.. most of them wearing jeans and not prepared with supplies! They rushed through the job had me hurry and sign the paperwork and left me to find the track in disarray. WHAT A JOKE!! You are better off going to the local college and finding someone to hire. SML is nothing more than an 800 number coordinating local companies for you. They are not quick to respond or help! You are better off taking 5 minutes to google local companies.

Sheila in the claims department is unreasonable. She will give you the run around about the company's policies and keep saying there is nothing she can do.

SO FRUSTERATED! I MADE THE MISTAKE OF HIRING THEM AND WILL NEVER NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!! I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW!

If Sheila only compensated me for the damage the occurred I would have been upset by the quality of the move but would have appreciated Shelia and SML for making it right!!

After the move, SML will not care about you or what has happened! They take your money and run!! DO NOT USE THEM!! GO USE ANYONE ELSE!!

Still No Response To My Horrible Experience in September

I booked with SML September 2020. I had two of the worse unreliable, unprofessional individuals anyone could have with moving furniture. They broke SEVERAL pieces of my furniture AND did not finish the job. They left during the unload. I contacted SML and received an initial phone call and information to submit a claim. I have not heard from them since. I have written reviews and called - No response. Disappointment and frustration does not begin to describe how I feel about SML. My next step is to contact BBB and see if any legal action can be taken.

The Move from Hell

If I could give Simple Moving Labor 0 stars, or negative stars, I would. Our long-distance move from PA to IN was a complete disaster. The loading crew arrived with no tools and no hand truck (their excuse was that no one told them they needed to bring them, when I was told by SML several times that all crews arrive with both of these items). Then, they proceeded to somehow be the worst moving crew ever. The 2 men who were doing a majority of the moving had no idea how to disassemble anything, nor did they have a clue about how to actually manuever furniture down the stairs. My mother-in-law spent a lot of time disassembling our furniture FOR them. Then, they got a piece of our sectional stuck in the doorway from our basement to the upstairs, because no one bothered to ask how the sectional got down there in the first place and they had completely not assessed that the way the staircase was set up, the piece would not go up that way, no matter what you did. Had they asked, I would have directed them to the storm cellar egress door. Instead, they spent over an hour trying to force our sofa through the door, took the banister off the wall, removed the door and the stops in the doorframe, and THEN. THEN! They used a borrowed power saw from a neighbor and SAWED THE LEG OFF OF OUR SOFA!

But wait, there's more. After several MORE hours of watching them do things like put a dresser mirror into the truck completely unwrapped, drop several boxes marked "Fragile" on the ground, and not packing the truck to the top, they announced they were done because the truck was "full" and the rest of our stuff wasn't going to fit. We had a 26 foot truck for our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, home (1900 sqft). My mother-in-law had tried to offer the loading crew a step-ladder so they could pack the truck to the ceiling more effectively, but the foreman turned it down. And I'm not talking about a few boxes not fitting on this truck. There was, to name a few items, our headboard, a disassembled crib, 2 crib mattresses, 4 of our 6 dining room chairs, about 25 boxes, half of my L-shaped desk, 7 Rubbermaid totes, a toy box, the kids' table/chairs, and number bags. They essentially threw up their hands and said goodbye. After 7 hours, they did half of the job, left a giant mess, and offered no other assistance. We were already behind schedule for leaving, so we had to stay overnight and then spent 4 hours trying to find a way to get the rest of our belongings to Indiana. I attempted to call SML to reschedule our unloading crew, but after sitting on hold twice during the day for over NINETY MINUTES, after 30 minutes, I pressed for the option to have a representative call me back. No one ever did that day.

Later that evening, we were looking for the rest of our furniture pads (which the movers had left somewhere and never told us), so my husband opened the truck to look. He was able to walk ALL THE WAY TO THE CAB of the truck, that was how much space was left in that truck. The following day, my husband and his mother spent 9 hours repacking that truck, which first required a significant amount of UNpacking. We also began itemizing every BROKEN item we found in the truck, including but not limited to our queen bed footboard, a dresser drawer, a dining room chair spindle, the glider, and 3 glasses. There are innumerable scratches, gouges, and dings in our furniture as well, including our dining room table, both cribs, both kids' dressers, our dresser, 2 nightstands, most of the dining room chairs, and 2 TV stands. They were successful in fitting EVERY ITEM into that truck, essentially having done the job of a 3-man crew.

When I finally got someone on the phone to reschedule our unloaders from the 27th to the 28th, I was told that "since it was such short notice, a crew could not be guaranteed". I decided at that moment to cancel the crew entirely, because all trust in this company was completely destroyed, and I would rather unpack the entire truck myself than deal with these completely inept people again and risk them breaking even MORE stuff.

This was last week, on the 26th. I was told a manager/supervisor would be in touch with me within 48 hours. It is now NINE DAYS after the move and I still can't get anyone in a supervisor position to speak with me. I am beyond irate and will not be satisfied until I am reimbursed for the movers (whose job we effectively had to do), as well as all of our broken items. I will NEVER recommend SML to anyone, and in fact will tell everyone I know that is moving to NEVER use this company. If you value your belongings, your time, and your sanity, DO NOT HIRE SIMPLE MOVING LABOR.

Long-distance move from Kansas to California

Two good SML experiences

Load-up session: 4-member team was prompt, courteous, respectful of property, and three of them worked really hard. The 4th fellow was a sad chap with a leg injury and low energy. The team overall was just great. On Load-out, the 4-person team turned out to be only 3 guys, and they arrived just a bit late (the arrival was scheduled between 10 and 11, and arrival was 11:08; communication could have been better). But the three guys worked very hard and got it all done. I will definitely use SML again. It’s a great employment concept, and both teams I workedwith delivered excellent results.

Long-distance move from Fresno, TX to Waconia, MN

Move from TX to MN

I paid for 3 hours. They brought a fourth who was not supposed to be there. This guy was listening to music and would not listen to my directions. I caught him going thru my toolbox! He just opened it up. I asked what he's doing and he said he was looking for an Alan wrench. I loaned it to him and never got it back. Not sure what other tools are missing. I had moving blankets out that were laid over a second box of blankets. They put it in the truck and refused to look for it! I told them 5 times they packed them. I gave directions on how I wanted my items packed and they would not listen to me. Kept looking at the lead guy. I had two storage containers. They jammed most of belongings in one! They were only there for an hour and a half! I never knew they left! They left all my doors open. I'm so angry . I looked in the last container where my brand new furniture and large framed pics were. They were thrown in there! No blankets! I couldn't reach the items to fix them. I reached out and sent email of pics with no response. I unload my belongings in about a month. I'm afraid of what I will find. If my furniture is ruined I will definitely connect with a live person. Bad service

NOT SATISFIED

SML IS NOT MOVING COMPANY BUT RATHER A BROKER FOR MOVING COMPANIES. THEY HAVE NOT VETTED THOSE COMPANIES AND DO NOT INTERVENE WHEN THERE IS EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE. IF USING PENSKE TRUCK RENTAL IT IS BEST TO HIRE DIRECT WITH A LOCAL COMPANY. NEVER AGAIN.

THIS WAS ONLY A 1/4 TRUCK UNLOAD.

MOVERS ARRIVED FOUR HOURS LATE AND DID NOT KNOW THE COMPANY THEY WERE "WORKING" FOR. I CALLED SML AND THEY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING. BUT, I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT, WHICH I DID. STILL SILENCE FROM SML.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Florida

Loading & Unloading Truck.

I did all of the box, goods packing before loading etc. Used professional moving crew to load truck , they packed truck very well. Slightly over time due to volume of goods. Some items moved in truck on long trip , but due to good packing nothing was damaged or broken. Unpacking crew in Florida very well supervised , a pleasure to work with the team. Cost of packing ,cost to load and unload truck.

Long-distance move from Maryland to California

Great moving experience!

I hired Simple Moving Labor for a full service move on April 28th, after having such a great experience in January with their loading service. In Maryland, the loaders arrived promptly, and worked without a break until the truck was ready to leave for California. THey did such a great job loading, that I was able to load furniture in addition to the boxes I had planned to move. The workers had all of the necessary equipment to load my possessions safely and securely. The truck was due in Oakland on Saturday, May4th, at 9AM. On Friday, the driver called to say that he had arrived. He delivered the truck early on Saturday. The unloaders arrived early, before their scheduled starting time, so that they could begin work promptly. They did a great job with a complicated unloading sequence, depositing boxes and furniture to 6 different places in the house. NOTHING was broken, even poorly packed glassware (poorly packed by me!). The loading process was so professional that all of the items arrived in perfect shape. Throughout the process, the central office called several times to make sure everything as going well, on both ends of the move. Then, afterwards, they called again to make sure that I was satisfied with my moving experience.  Although I had received cheaper quotes from other companies, I hired SImple Moving Labor because of the great experience I had in January, because SML does not charge by weight, and because it was a private truck - none of my belongings were mingled with other households.  I would heartily recommend SML! I have had two great experiences in a row, and would not hesitate to use them again.

Long-distance move from California to Maryland

Pro Mover Team.

After discovering that we had too much to move using a Penske truck, we decided to use ABF and Pro Movers from SML to assist in loading/unloading. On the load end of the job, I had assumed that I could have them come out and just do the heavy items.  I quickly realized that they were doing a better job than we could have and asked to have them stay to finish up the load.  We had all the boxes packed and pre-staged in the garage waitiNg for them but I left wrapping the furniture with pads and shrink wrap to them.  The whole job took 7.5 hours with the crew of three working hard. On the u loading end of the job, SML sent three college-aged guys who had about a year experience. They did a great job as well and finished in 4.5 hours Both crews were very professional, well trained and extremely accommodating.  I would highly recommend SML to anyone.
