Simple Moving Labor

I was in need of help moving furniture and belongings from a rental truck into my new apartment in Florida. Simple moving labor was a perfect service for this need. They have options to hire either general labor or professional movers. The general labor suited my needs, and I felt it was well worth the money! My move was made a lot easier with simple moving labor! The two movers showed up prompt and ready to work. They were pleasant and professional, and moved my things in a careful yet efficient manner. I would highly recommend simple moving labor for any of your moving needs!!

I decided to hire movers to alleviate myself from having to beg friends or kill my back moving my furniture. Penske recommended SML, as they could arrange for the unloading and the loading at once. I had no problems make the reservation. The reservations were made for 2 Pro Movers at $110/hr (later found out that it was a steep price for what I received) at the loading and unloading site. At the loading site, the movers were professional and friendly. They loaded my truck, packed it extremely well, and effectively packed a 2-bedroom apartment in a 26’ truck. I was surprised I only lost one piece of furniture. At the unloading site, the movers were professional and friendly. They followed instructions well and did not break anything. I did encounter problems. One, even though the movers were at the unloading site for precisely 3 hours and the contract I signed stated so, SML attempted to charge me for 3½ hours. I recommend that you keep copies of everything the movers make you sign. Two, you will be charged extra to move a piano. However, that does not mean that the two movers are capable of adequately moving the piano. The whole idea behind hiring 2 Pro Movers is that you are not required to lift anything and the movers bring the tools necessary to move the furniture. Specifically, the movers at the unloading site were having so much trouble moving the piano, I had to step in and help them out to ensure that they wouldn’t damage the piano. Overall, if I would have decided to take the time and call around the city at both the loading and unloading sites, I would have saved $300 in the whole process. Or, I would have had the services of 3 movers for the price I paid SML. Given my experience, I will not consider SML again.

So we moved from south Texas to central Oklahoma for my new job. I have a wife and infant and we needed help desperately so we hired two movers from SML. They were supposed be at our apt the next day between 8-9 am. No one arrived until 10 am and get this, only one guy showed up and not the two we hired. Well this man was very nice and helpful. He was a bit older and didn't have the muscle for some of the heavier items such as the king size bed and recliner couch we had to bring upstairs. I felt that by not having the other guy to help him move our stuff I spent more time helping him than organizing our apt with my wife. I understand things happen but this seemed like the toughest move of our life. I unfortunately would never recommend this company again after the day we had. Are apt was a wreck and it could have been prevented by getting what we ordered.

I chose SML because it was on the Penske website and recommended.  The 800 number that I called had terrific customer service and was very informative and helpful.  The group of guys in New Mexico that showed up to load my belongings in the truck was late - they got lost!  They were great and worked very efficiently and quickly.  They did a great job of packing my belongings into that 26ft truck and when I arrived only a few of my items had damage (mainly from shifting in the truck for 3 days). The 2 men that showed up to unload my truck were scary (missing teeth and overall shady looking).  These 2 men also tried to make a 2 hour job into an 8 hour job,  I and my husband ended up helping to unload the truck to speed up the process as they were extremely lazy.  They definitely wanted to spend time "chatting" and not working.  In addition, one of them was very overweight and had a hard time catching his breath or keeping up when coming down the ramp from the truck.   I would definitely recommend the group in New Mexico but not the group that was in Nashville, TN.

Had a good experience with this company moving from GA to MO. The GA movers showed up early and were very experienced with everything. Not one issue with them. Actually they were working so fast we finished up before I knew it!  Didnt have any problems 2 days later in MO but I have to admit that they were not as experienced. It seemed like one had been with the company and moving in general longer than the other as he was sometimes telling him how to handle the situation but other than that they were both very polite and hard working. .

SML was friendly, efficient, and prompt.  After having nightmare moves in the past, these guys were wonderfully amazing.  I thought it was odd that they weren't using the moving blankets I had gotten to wrap my furniture, but I had too many other things going to to make a mention, plus they were the professionals and I figured they knew what they were doing.  They packed the truck expertly and I was truly impressed with their service.  However, when I unpacked my truck I saw that my dresser had a huge, nasty scratch/gouge.  Granted, it was only 1 piece of furniture in a sizeable move, but it was still frustrating.  Everything else with them was pretty spectacular.  .

Office staff was excellent - I got several calls from them to ensure loaders and unloaders showed up on time and things were going OK.   I got the professional loaders and I think they did a very good job. The truck was loaded and the work done on time.   I got the less experience guys for unloading. They were not as effective at moving large furniture around and a few times items actually got "hung up" trying to get them through doorways. The stuff we had to move was not very expensive but if it was really good furniture, I would recommend getting the top level professional for both loading and unloading.

We recently made a move from Alabama to Colorado springs and my wife could not handle some of the furniture. We hired SML to help us move our stuff up one flight of stairs and into our new home. The movers were a couple hours late but in their defense it wasob very short notice that we hired them. The two men that came were extremely nice and worked hard to get the Job done fast and they were extremely careful with our belongings. The even told us about the area and fun things we could do. The only thing that aggravated me was that the company made a mistake and accidentally double charged our account. So the ending bill was over $500.00. They realized they made the mistake after my wife and I called them numerous times. And they did refund us our money. It just took about a week. But other than that they did a pretty good job and I would recommend them to my friends.

We found Simple Moving Labor  through a referral by Penske truck rental in Alabama.  We had loaded a 12-foot truck ourselves and then  used Simple Moving Labor to help us unload the heavy stuff and carry it upstairs at our new home.  Along with about 60 small containers we had a two-piece book case (6 feet by 8 feet tall put together) dresser, chest, overstuffed chairs, filing cabinets, band saw, and a heavy coffee table.  The guys were early by fifteen minutes and went right to work.  They took great care to protect the walls and new wood floor and were anxious to make sure we were happy with every detail. In two hours they were done.  I am absolutely and totally pleased with every detail of the interaction with them.  Friendly and easy to work with!  Highly recommended.  Knoxville guys, you are the best!!    .

I have moved all over the country a number of times, and this is the worst moving experience ever.  The loaders "who were supposed to be their best" did not follow my instructions and damaged the items I told them to be careful with.  The damages were totally the loaders fault and SML would not stand behind the claim, which would have probably cost them about $100.  Don't every use them.  They are horrible and don't stand  behind their customer service.  I now have a bedroom set that won't stand up on the legs because they were broken during unloading and an entertainment center that is damaged beyond belief.  I told them to wrap it bubble wrap - which I still have - and blankets which they didn't use.  they also just threw my coffee tables in without wrapping them and my claims were denied.  If they would have done as I requested, everything would have been fine.  Don't use them.  They are horrible.They loaded the stuff in the middle that I told them I wanted on the back So again they didn't listen to me and now I have stuff at this location that I did not want.  When I found what they were loading, they refused to unload it to accommodate what I told them.  They got their boss on the line and we still couldn't get it loaded right.  By then the entertainment center was screwed.  do not use this service.

The guys who loaded our truck didn't really take my  wants into consideration.  I asked fro my beds to be loaded near the back or last if possible.  They put them near the front so that when we got to our destination, I unloaded over 2/3 of the truck myself to get to the beds.  I was irritated to say the least after a 12 hour drive.  They did a GREAT job of packing the truck as nothing moved at all on the drive.  They did damage a few things packing and stacking.     I give them an average rating.  I'm not sure I would use them again.  .

I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend SML as I have to my son who moved here to southern CA days after me. Although he did not use SML he had Marine Buddies to help when he arrived on Base etc. Back to me SML called about 3 or 4 times during my trip then the day before and the morning of twice! With this all I can say is thank you, had 2 professional polite men show up and complete the move in with time to spare they also cleaned the 26 foot Penski rental truck and folded the blankets. I tipped the gentleman, and it was done! Not knowing anyone here in this new city made my move ok almost enjoyable! I Wish you luck in your move and thanks again SML D.Plamondon.

We accomplished a local move from Jacksonville, AR to Hot Springs Village, AR in which we rented the truck and Simple Moving provided the pro movers.  The team worked well with us and did a great job in getting the truck packed as full as possible.  The unloading was delayed for several hours due to rainy weather, but after the weather broke, the same team showed up at our new location. They did a great job unloading the truck and putting the items in the rooms we requested.  I would use this team again if I had to move.

SML got us professional movers who helped us pack and load a 26 ft long Penske trailer from two different locations. The gentlemen were prompt, fast, clean and courteous of our goods. They lay mats down on the floors as to not trample dirt in to the house. We were so pleasantly surprised at not only the service but the cost which was remarkable! We had our daughter arrange for helpers at our destination and they could not compare.. Motto use SML their labor is the best!

Referred through Penske, I hired two moving professionals from SML to help load the truck in CA.  They showed up half an hour early to get a sense of what needed to be done then took off for a quick lunch (which was helpful because I wasn't ready for them yet).  They got back at the pre-arranged time and got right to work.  They did a good job moving all the heavy stuff that I didn't want to touch, wrapped them up, and did well following my sometimes particular directions.  As it turned out, the two movers were able to keep me more than busy as I was loading the truck while they were bringing out all the furniture.  They were courteous, worked well together, and made some good suggestions.  I had them for 3 hours and I kept them busy the whole time.  I feel like it was certainly worth it, and my back agrees!

I used the professional movers and they were fast, efficient, professional in attitude and packed the truck like experts. My only complaint was that one end table was broken in the move, but it was repaired. They did all their work in well under the amount of time I had paid for which gave me plenty of time to do what I needed to. I appreciated the level of engagement and service provided since these men were working in the rain and cold and required no additional support or service. I hurt my back earlier when I was loading the truck and these two gentlemen took over to make the experience easy for me.
