Shleppers Moving & Storage

After several dicey moves in the past, Shleppers exceeded my expectations with every aspect of my move. My on-site estimator was on time, informative and professional. Leading up to the move Steven Zimmer answered all of my questions and adjusted my quote a few times at my request, including the day before the move, to reflect changes in the packing list. And the moving crew was courteous, efficient, and careful with my belongings. I couldn't recommend them more.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1240

I was nervous when my apt building declined to allow the company I hired to move me in. That company was not "full service" and did not have certificate of insurance acceptable to my new management. I asked for their rec and they gave me 3 that had the COI acceptable to management. I immediately emailed all 3 - even tho after hours on a Tuesday since my move was Thursday. The other 2 either did not get back or said too little notice.

Shleppers was immediately responsive and extremely helpful and reassuring! But when I heard "No Problem. of course we can help. We will take good care of you" I feared a huge price out of my budget. To my delight and surprise, they were excellent in every way! Well within my budget, available for time and place, and super easy to book. When I had a ridiculous hiccup on my end (NOT theirs!) they were very understanding and said to just work it out and let them know. This was all last minute and they were totally calm! I worked out my issues, called, immediately confirmed and done!

I showed up the next day for the move and Will, Antoine & Lopez with truck were already there. ahead of schedule. they quickly and patiently completed the move out and then just as quickly and patiently - and with good humor - completed the in.

I felt so very lucky that everything worked out perfectly. When the Shleppers agent called me to ask for a report, all I could say was Thank you! Perfect!

But I think this was not luck. I think that Shleppers must be really this good. To handle my last minute situation with such ease and excellence takes a well-oiled machine, full of smart, lovely, calm people who know the caller scheduling a move is probably crazed, or at least anxious - and they just deal with it. That's what they do. and my goodness they do it well. Simply couldn't have done it better in my case.

Moving in NY is a pain, but somehow Shleppers takes away as much of the pain as possible. Had to move 6 large pieces of furniture down 4 flights of stairs--the 3 guys from Shleppers showed up in the time window selected, packed everything quickly and effectively and hauled it all away without any questions or taking any breaks. While the pricing for Shleppers is a bit higher than some of their competitors, what you are paying for is professionalism and courtesy. I have moved with companies in the past that have put all my stuff in their truck, and then tried to renegotiate the price for the move, which is a pretty shady practice. Nice to know there are companies out there doing business the right way.

I used Shleppers several years ago to move out of NYC temporarily, and I remain a very happy repeat customer after my recent move back into NYC. In both of my moving experiences with Shleppers, everyone I spoke to and interacted with was kind, courteous, and responsive throughout all parts of the move process.

I spoke with Anne to get a moving quote, and she was quick to respond to all of my (many) questions in advance. It even turns out they had a list of my items on file from my previous move, so all I had to do was update the list for my move back to the city! In addition, when my landlord asked for a COI prior to my move, Anne was quick to respond to this request as well.

On the morning of my move, the three movers arrived with their truck on time (a welcome courtesy in and of itself), and moved my items quickly and efficiently. All were very professional and very respectful, and, of course, careful with everything from my large furniture to many boxes of books and personal items. The movers were able to navigate New York's small apartment spaces (doors/hallways included) with ease, and are clearly capable local professionals who know how to handle the special challenges of moving to/from/around NYC.

All of this is to say, I very highly recommend Shleppers on all fronts. They are efficient, professional, careful, and all around nice people. I remain a happy customer, pleased with both of my experiences with the company. (Even my parents, who were on site to help with the move this time around, were very impressed.) Thank you for making the stressful experience of moving less stressful!

I had a excellent experience with shleppers moving. The workers were very courteous fast and experienced. They packed and shipped everything to my storage unit neatly and efficiently. They did a very good job and I will definitely recommend them to family and friens. I will use them again when I need to move again. Anna in the office followed up with my move to make sure that I had an excellent experience she was very courteous and kind and assisted me with the paperwork and setting up the move. This was my second time using Shleppers. The first was a few years ago, and in my opinion, once you find a moving company that does what they say they're going to do, you stick with them. Shleppers quoted me a fair price, itemized my belongings, arrived when they said they would, packed everything up carefully, and unloaded it all in the new house as they said they would. The guys were courteous and polite, and they didn't stop hustling until the job was done.

We got quotes from three companies, and Shleppers was the lowest by far. They had great online reviews, so we went with them. That was a huge mistake. The movers completely broke two items, and damaged nine others, taking pains to hide some of the items they broke. The foreman told us not to worry, that customer service would take care of us, but cust svce never returned our repeated phone calls. We finally disputed $500 of the charge with Discover, and Shleppers responded dishonestly, including the astounding claim that WE had not responded to THEIR attempts to reach us. As I was finally considering suing them in court, I reached out one last time - and got the only worthwhile person in the office, Amy, at ext 252. She and I worked the whole thing out in five minutes. I dropped the dispute, she refunded $400, all good, right? The next day, the company CEO sent a nasty email and left an even more disgusting voicemail threatening to bring us to court for committing fraud. Apparently he didn't know that we had dropped the credit card dispute. Instead of inquiring, though, he threatened and insulted us, which was mind-boggling. My wife saw the email first, calmly told him the facts, to which he responded "ok". No apology, nothing. I then heard the VM, read the email, and sent him a tough email in response. He has now escalated, threatening to get me arrested (for what, I have no clue), sending his lawyers after me, calling me a crook, you name it. This company is a total disaster. Luckily for them they have Amy, without whom they might have been sued into oblivion. Should I ever again need a mover, I will look for quotes from companies that do not have to charge exorbitant amounts to cover their advertising budget, and hopefully find a place, through word of mouth, that is honest and decent. It sure won't be Shleppers.

I would like to thank Eric Wolf who is more than just a salesperson, Eric guided me and my husband in what to expect in the whole moving process and was very honest both with pricing and planning. Selling a home and buying another with dates constantly changing, Eric was always available to answer questions and was flexible to constant changes to the move. We interviewed 3 other reputable companies in Westchester but Eric came in with best pricing and was more realistic with his presentation and made us feel comfortable. More importantly we must thank the movers who were considerate, friendly and were very careful with moving our furniture and other precious art pieces. My hat goes off to Will the foreman, the fantastic 4 team (Will, Dorsey, Damian and Antoine) who provided white glove service and should be recognized and awarded. We had some very heavy pieces and was very appreciative for all of there help in organizing the move in a seamless professional manner. Thanks for provided us the A Team

Shleppers is amazing. They know what they're doing, they make sure they do it well, and they occasionally work miracles. Not only are they extremely efficient, but they're also very good at problem-solving, both in advance and on the spot. Everyone who worked on my move, from the office staff to the movers, did a spectacular job.

They came in the day before my move to make sure everything was packed. They were incredibly fast, even by professional standards. On the actual day of the move, everything went against them -- they couldn't find parking on the street and had to park on a different block, and it was raining very hard. My new building had strict rules about moving hours, and I was worried because the parking and weather had us behind. I should have had more faith! Even though they also had trouble parking at the new building, putting us even further behind schedule, they nevertheless managed to get everything into the apartment in the time allowed, because they are just that good. And they didn't even look like they were hurrying, either; they still took the time to sort everything into the rooms they were labeled for, they assembled my bed, and they even helped me lug stuff into my building's storage unit.

I would definitely use them again, and I would recommed them to anyone. They are just the best.

I recently used Shleppers for my move from New York City to Denver and had a great experience. As I was only one person moving a single bedroom of furniture, Shleppers was by far the most affordable option for a long distance move with minimal items. I was pleased to find that in addition to being affordable, Shleppers was attentive, helpful and thorough. Everyone I communicated with throughout the process was responsive and diligent, making my move as seamless as possible. All of my things arrived in their original condition in the estimated time frame. I would absolutely recommend Shleppers for a long distance move!

I chose Shleppers based off of a recommendation from a trusted colleague, and I am very pleased to say this company lives up to every bit of the reputation they've earned! Every step of the way, the representatives I worked with were courteous, knowledgeable, and above all, friendly! On the day of the move, the crew arrived a few minutes early and went above and beyond to make sure the move was as fast and pleasant as possible. Items were packed in a carefully, and they were very patient a we worked to place them in our new home. I really cannot say enough about this company. I would highly recommend Shleppers to anyone getting ready for a move of any size!

We were extreamly pleased and Sleppers exceeded our expectations. The price was the best we were quoted . The phone conversation were all knowledgeable courteous professionals who were always willling to go the extra mile to assist .The movers arrived timely and were courteous , organized and professional. They carefully wrapped all furniture and no damage to our home . All our furniture arrive after being stored 17 days all in perfect condition and 100 percent of ou inventory arrive 2 days after we moved in . The movers could not have be more professional and willing to place items exactly where we wanted . Thank you to everyone at Shleppers for an amazing job well done .

We recently moved into a rental house for a temporary stay, while doing renovations on our home. Shleppers came in the day before our move to help us pack. They were professional and quick, and made sure it was a stress free day. The day of the move was no different. There were four men that helped us move into our rental. They did a wonderful job and made sure that we were happy with the job before they left. We will definitely use them again for our move back to our house in a few months. I would highly recommend them for packing and moving!

I first used Shleppers more than 10 years ago, and used them again last month. They remain exceptional -- excellent value in terms of service and price. The movers were professional, friendly and efficient. I was under the weather that day, and they were very patient with me about what needed to packed or donated. FYI, they take donations too, which is also part of their great service. Their customer service was helpful in getting me quotes, without being intrusive or insistent (no daily email reminders to get back to them and book a date, no phone calls). They patiently waited for me to get a firm move date.

If moving stresses you, this is the company to work with. Their team does all of it right, and you can literally just sit back and relax.

I recently used Shleppers for the second time in two years. I decide to use them again because of the extraordinarily helpful and pleasant specialist, Fran, who helped me plan everything and navigate some last minute logistical hiccoughs. I’m very happy I chose Shleppers again.

My movers arrived right on time and made quick work of packing up my apartment, attentive to my requests for some fragile items to be handled with extra care. The delivery at my new apartment was equally efficient.

Last month I moved out of a sublet back home while finishing up renovations in an apartment purchase. This move was exceptional - fast, painless, and a good price. Yesterday I moved into said ready apartment and was met with the same service - fast, painless, and fair pricing. The movers were extremely friendly and efficient on both of the moves and everything was in the same condition upon arrival as upon departure. The company is extremely communicative and easily accessible and they deal with COIs with ease. Doing two back-to-back moves with Shleppers, I definitely trust them for future use and recommend their service to others.

Everything from beginning to end was smooth and efficient. I was able to provide an inventory of items to be moved over the phone and got a quote immediately. Later on, I was able to update my inventory as I discovered items that I had overlooked the first time. On the day of my move, the movers arrived right on time. My furniture and belongings were on the truck in less than 1.5 hours. Each piece of furniture was carefully wrapped in a blanket(s). The movers arrived a my new home (180 miles away) a few minutes after I did. The unloading was just as smooth and efficient as the loading. I highly recommend Schleppers.
