Shleppers Moving & Storage

Second and last time I use Shleppers. I like people who are up front about a problem. Not saying something is a lie of omission. The "mover" who set up my bedroom scratched the bottom of the dresser and never told me. He also ripped the fabric under the box spring, never told me. Why hide this? BE UP FRONT! You think not telling me is going to run and recommend Shleppers? Think again. He also wasn't able to set up the bed correctly. When they set up my desk they had a problem reinstalling the drawer. So what did Mr. Intellect do? He tried to bend the drawer rails because he thought they needed bending. Ask the customer for help. After all, it is his desk. Finally, They were upset that I put the tip on my credit card. I offered to meet the crew leader and give him cash. He looked at me like I insulted him and his family. He wasn't too pleased with the quantity of the tip. Too stinking bad! So Shleppers will not get my business, nor would I recommend them to others.

I moved from New York to the Bay Area using Shleppers. I was very impressed with the staff top to bottom. They give you a moving consultant who is both the estimator and the point person through the whole process and mine was great. The estimate was what I was charged in the end, the pickup was professional and efficient, and the staff showed great care and were friendly. The only trouble points were that they had two items that did not make it onto the cross-country truck due to space reasons and were delivered a couple of weeks later and a couple of items that were damaged. They were in constant contact with me and compensated me for both.

I used Shleppers to move an overstuffed converted 3 bedroom in NY to a house in NJ.We had used them over 10 years earlier to move in and had a good experience so decided to see if they were still of the same quality. The move consultant who came to review the apartment was friendly and easy to deal with. He was in and out quickly while doing a thorough estimate and was able to answer any questions we had. We received estimates from several places and this was the best experience. To make it better their price was much better than one place and competitive with others. We decided to go ahead with them.
On move day our foreman showed up with the truck and guys (Milos I think) checked out our apartment and got to work. They were quick, but diligent and pointed out already damaged items (we knew). No issues with the packing up of the truck from the apartment. Once they arrived they unloaded quickly and even though some furniture did not fit upstairs, (not their fault)
they tried hard to make accommodations and got the truck unloaded and without issue. At the end of the move they did not bring up any surprise add-ons, or changes to the bill (a theme I saw often during my searches on the web). We settled up and that was it. I tipped them well (they deserved it) but that was not brought up at all by them. (No pressure, etc.). Overall we were extremely pleased with the move and would recommend them and this crew in particular.

I move constantly. I'd say I like to torture myself but I cannot say enough good things about Shleppers. From getting the quote (which was less than the other quote I got by $100) to the guys showing up early (they called first). I was fully prepared to cry at some point during the move, as movers often make me do. No tears just pure joy!! Seriously- professional, kind, didn't nickel and dime me for extra boxes and not one thing was damaged. They moved quickly and I moved to a 4 floor walk up. Thank you, guys!!

I'm delighted to say that hiring Schleppers for my "in house" move was a great decision. Not only was their quote more reasonable than any other, but they were clearly experienced and professional. I'm in a condo with many rules and regulations and this company knew exactly what to do. Because I moved from one wing of the building to another it involved two different elevator banks and "schlepping" stuff across a basement. It was seamless! The crew was courteous, professional, quick and hard working. Moving is stressful but Schleppers made moving day easy. I won't hesitate to recommend them and will use them again if the need arises.

I would like to acknowledge and give props to the crew led by Oscar that performed as efficiently and professionally as anyone could ask for. The three man crew was helpful, engaging, and courteous. They actually arrived early and gave me time to get the apartment ready for entrance. Afterwards, they came in, took apart furniture, placed clothes in wardrobe box, secured possessions, rolled things out, and expertly did it all over when moving into new apartment. It was a quick and skillful display of professionalism. I would recommend to anyone looking for a big move. My wife and I were quite impressed.

This was my first experience with Shleppers. I had previously used another, larger company for other, larger moves, and had found their service exemplary; however, for this smaller job (5 - 6 pieces of furniture, plus a few boxes in; 3 - 4 pieces out), I'd heard good word-of-mouth on Shleppers, their estimate was what I expected to pay, and it was fixed-cost, not hourly. On the day of the move, they outperformed my expectations. By a large margin! I'd been given an arrival window of between 9:00 & 10:00 am. They arrived at 8:30, and we finished the move by 10:45. They did not push to start early (though we could all tell the day was warming up); they were just ready. So were we, and the rest is history. All the service was excellent, from the rep on the phone (and in e-mail) to the three great movers on the day. I would definitely use Shleppers again, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

We used Shleppers to move a 2 bedroom Co-Op in NY to a house in PA. A friend of mine had raved about Shleppers. Gavin our move consultant who came to review the apartment, was very friendly and easy to deal with. He was in and out quickly while doing a thorough estimate and was able to answer any questions we had. We received estimates from several places and this was the most professional and the cost was competitive with others. A few others were really low, but they did not take the time to come to the apartment, we figured too good to be true. We decided to use Shleppers, based on their professionalism and recommendation and price.
On move day, our foreman showed up at 9am (right on time!) with the truck and guys checked out our apartment and got to work. They were quick, but industrious. We live in a Co-op and I was dreading the hogging of the elevator, but everything went smoothly, and I was cleaning up the apartment at noon. They met us in Philadelphia and quickly finished the task at hand.
As for the price, there were no add ons, and everything was in the same condition as it was. I tipped them well as they deserved it. There was absolutely no pressure from the crew.
I highly recommend them and we have already recommended them to friends of ours.

My move with Shleppers was great. My friend recommended them to me. They came on time, checked the list of the stuff that needed to be moved and did not charge any extra for some pieces that I forgot to mention making my appointment. Guys were energetic, fast and efficient. Wrapped all my furniture , helped me disassemble some pieces and loaded everything in the truck withing 2 hours.
It was a long ride for them from Brooklyn to Merrick, LI( they were not allowed on the highways) , but they were very nice about it and did not complain. The furniture was unloaded and assembled very fast w/o damaging anything.
Overall, my move went very smooth and I already recommended them to my friend.

I needed a quick turnaround move two weeks before Labor Day weekend. This is apparently the busiest month for moves. I called around and Shleppers was the only company with multiple openings. I was moving a 2 bedroom / 2 bath apartment including a lot of delicate items, artwork, furniture, etc. Shleppers was phenomenal! From start to finish. From quoting, to following up with each building on insurance requirements and scheduling, to the pre-move walk through, to the post move process and review. The foreman was great and made sure everything was taken care of. The team was also amazing. I would absolutely use them again.

I did a move from my Upper West Side apartment to my new home in Connecticut and with the Shleppers move team, everything was delivered quickly and without a hitch. From the moment we got our appraisal from Steven Zimmer to the delivery of our furniture to Connecticut, I couldn't be happier with the work of Shleppers. The moving team arrived to pack on furniture exactly on time, the moved safely and efficiently and couldn't be kinder to us. They handled our precious items with care and precision. The added bonus was their quote was much below competitors and they stuck to it with no up charges. Don't hesitate, call Shleppers to do your move. I certainly will use them again.

I used Shleppers to move a moderately small amount of stuff from storage to an apartment. The storage facility moved from stuff (without telling me they were doing so) from NYC to New Rochelle. Shleppers negotiated a fair price for the additional hours while this was straightened out. Their estimates for arrival at the various sites was accurate, and the move (despite the above issues), went smoothly and quickly. They are definitely the first company I would call for my next move.

My move IN date for my new apartment was a day later than the move OUT date in my current apartment, and Shleppers made the entire process seamless and stress free! The Moving Specialist, Gavin, assigned to me was really friendly and helpful, and replied to my emails and questions extremely quickly! The movers themselves were extremely efficient and friendly - they packed up my entire apartment in an hour and were extremely careful and thorough throughout the process. Shleppers stored my stuff overnight, and the next day delivered on time and with no problems! Again, the movers on the second day were speedy and efficient and even helped me figure out the best way to put my furniture in my bedroom to maximize space.

After 15 years in NYC, my husband and I recently relocated to DC. Given the stresses associated with moving to a new city, I was equally concerned that my move would just as anxiety-ridden. My moving specialist, Fran (ext 115), promised she would take care of me. She delivered above and beyond my expectations. Our VIP team, lead by Ernesto, were careful, thorough and quick! We were out of our apartment in Brooklyn in under three hours and were unloaded in about the same time. Even with a 4 hour truck ride, ALL of our stuff made it safe and sound into our new place and in perfect condition. In times like these, communication is key, and this team kept us updated and informed at all times. I hope we don't have to move anytime soon, but if we do, I'll only call Schleppers!

Shleppers was perfect. The team was professional and courteous through the whole process. They accommodated an error on my part. They were able to reschedule for the next day and get the paperwork required by my management company within an hour so I could redeem my deposit. The team that moved our things were all careful and respectful of our things and properties we're in. A friend recommended them to me after an excellent experience. I recommend them, and would definitely use them again.

I have nothing but good things to say about Shleppers Moving Company. They made our recent move a pleasant experience. I had to change the moving date several times and they always accommodated me without hesitation. We had to add other items two or three times and they had no problem with changing the manifest. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and protected every delicate artifact. They wrapped everything very carefully, and cleaned up impeccably. The moving men were courteous at all times. This was our second move with Shleppers and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This is a review of Shleppers Moving and Storage located in the Bronx, NY. :
In February of 2017 Shleppers Moving and Storage packed and moved myself and my wife to our retirement home in Florida. Upon the furniture’s, arrival it was obvious that a number of pieces were damaged. To be specific; a carved bench in which the leg was broken in a number of places and the arm was broken. A contemporary console tables leg which was removed for transportation was unable to be reassembled. The surface which is polyester showed cracks, which were a result of the movers attempt to reassemble the table. There was a chip in one of two Lucite bases which holds up a glass dining room table.
Shleppers sent a furniture repair company over to assess and repair the furniture. It was determined by the companies specialist that except for the bench the other pieces were beyond repair. Shleppeers paid for repair of the bench and offered 60 cents a pound as recompense for the other pieces they damaged.
They were willing to negotiate when my credit card (which I used to pay for the move) withdrew their payment of $16,000. Once the credit card determine that the time I filed my complaint exceed their limit for intervention and reinstated the payment, Shleppers broke off discussion.
I am writing this review to warn anyone considering using Shleppers in the future to take heed. Be aware that this company does not take responsibility for their workers negligence.

This was my first experience with Shleppers and it was great. From the quoting process, the customer service before the move and then the actual moving day - everything exceeded my expectations. They were prompt on the day of the move and worked very efficiently. There were a few extra items that I needed them to pack that day and they did it without any hesitation. The moving team did a great job packing our stuff, including an oversized sofa, large TV and queen size bed. Nothing was damaged during the move. I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to others. Thank you Leo, Kevin and the rest of the Shlepper's team.

I recently moved between two apartments within Queens and Shleppers made it a breeze.
Price was definitely competitive, but was not necessarily the absolute lowest.However, the experience was a breeze for the second time I have used them (my previous was also with Shleppers).
Moving is stressful as it is and nightmare stories don't help. Their movers were on time, knowledgeable, calm, competent and had a good balance of working fast and getting the job done right.
