Shleppers Moving & Storage

I moved from storage unit to my apartment. Schleppers still had the inventory from my previous move so reviewing the item list was easy. They made contact by text and phone before and during the move to ensure quality of service. The online pre move paperwork is easy to understand. There is a Team leader present from start to finish to ensure quality and timeliness of the move. Moves are stressful. Schleppers customer service made this experience stress free. I am a loyal customer.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $655

We recently moved a 1 bedroom apt from NYC to Atlanta. It was our first big move and we wanted to choose a mover that would be trusted to get our possessions there in a safe and timely manner. Shleppers was GREAT to work with, everything from getting our estimates (which we had to revise multiple times!), to the actual moving and delivery, they were so professional and easy to work with. We received all the COI paperwork immediately and they respond so fast to any questions. They were timely with our pickup and drop off. They were communicative throughout the entire process leading up to the move. All our items were delivered without any issues! Would highly recommend them to others and for any future moves.

I would give them zero stars if I could. I paid extra to have my tv removed from it's bracket on the wall. They dropped it! They ruined it. They offered me $35 in replacement value. What a joke!!

They broke a piece off the marble stairs in my buildings foyer. They first tried to hide it but my super caught them. It's going to cost over 3K to fix. They provided a COI I had no idea you need to buy more insurance for damage they caused. Why would I? They are insured! They offered me $125!!! Crazy!

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE this company. Maybe if they lose business they will be responsible for the damage they cause! Keep your $160 for over $4500 worth of damage. It will cost me twice as much to pay for their damage then the move cost me.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2500

Would give ZERO stars if I could. While we had a good prior experience with Shleppers, our most recent move was a complete disaster, as if it were a totally different company. They somehow managed to lose a box containing most of my wardrobe. How do you lose a large box moving 15 miles? My guess is they left it in the truck and covered it with refuse, then never bothered to let us know. So irresponsible. They broke another item that we were going to put in my car, but they insisted they would carefully wrap and put on the truck. It was never wrapped and arrived completely destroyed. So careless.  One worker in particular, kept removing his mask despite contstant demands that he stop using it as a chin diaper.  Very dangerous and disrespectful, and a clear violation of the company's claimed covid safety rules. And yes, I repeatedly asked the supervisor to speak with him about this. Then, one worker came back to my house after they finished to try to drag me into a dispute over the supervisor's allocation of the tip (which was very generous despite my issues, since I had not yet realized a box was missing). All in all, they are incompetent, irresponsible, and do not care about maintaining health and safety protocols.


I reported all these issues (except the missing box) immediately and received a largely indifferent response. Then when I reported the missing box, I was initially ignored, then received another indifferent response and "promise to look for it". Two weeks later, zero follow up from the company.  Do not use them!

The quality of the white glove service I received was exceptional. The four movers assigned, Arnold (Foreman), Marco, Pedro, and Daisy, were extremely proficient, professional, and courteous. The movers were constantly in motion, I do not believe anyone took a break. Then, the entire team had a can-do attitude when we discovered that the elevator stopped working. Nonetheless the movers continued using the stairwell. Fortunately, the elevator was fixed quickly. All my large furniture items were taken apart nicely and reassembled in better shape than before and there were no accidents nor breakage of any kind. I do not plan on moving again anytime soon however will highly recommend Shleppers to anyone looking for professional and reliable movers.

The crew from Shleppers was outstanding. Great communication & initial quoting - including a virtual estimate over Facetime from Gavin. Our move date had to change three times because of an ever shifting closing date - but the team handled the changes without issue or additional fees, keeping the original price they quoted us. Day of move was easy and fast. Team was professional, friendly, and fortunately quite strong to move our tons of boxes and furniture. Highly recommended and would use again. Thanks!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

While they arrived on time, they didn't remove the legs nor did they wrap a $3000 dresser properly. The dresser had never been moved before (I had bought it new and it was in the same place since it was moved into my apartment -- it was in pristine condition) but when it arrived at my final destination, there were chunks of wood missing all over the dresser and the legs looked like they were torn off and screwed back on. I've included photos of just a few of the nicks that are now on the dresser from the move. The side with the chunks of wood missing had been next to a wall in my apartment -- it would have been impossible for me to damage the dresser. They have refused to compensate me for the damages and I've since disputed with American Express -- Shleppers told AmEx that they didn't damage the furniture. I am convinced they take bats to people's possessions when they're in storage. When I booked the move, they didn't offer me any insurance and any questions I had about the move, they were nasty in their responses, like I was wasting their time. Unless you want your possessions destroyed, don't use them. Unless you want your stuff thrown into boxes, definitely don't pay for them to pack.

BIG MISTAKE. I used Shleppers in the past and made the mistake of thinking they would perform well on my recent move. The recent move itself went smoothly. However, I paid extra to have Shleppers take apart and reassemble a wall unit. Their "carpenter" lost parts, broke key parts to the wall unit, failed to properly reassemble the wall unit and was very rude. The Company also posted extra unauthorized charges on my credit card. AVOID SHLEPPERS AT ALL COST. Dealing with them on this move was a big mistake.

I've moved across oceans three times and never had a problem. I had more problems moving across town with Schleppers than moving 3500+ miles. I've raised concerns directly to the co-owners of the company, who have not substantively responded. After several months of no progress, I write this review.

Suggestions if you do choose Schleppers: do not sign ANY paperwork until the move is complete. Insist on an actual walk-through by their estimator, not a phone consultation, so they cannot upcharge you later. Do not tip until the move is fully complete. Check that all garbage has been removed from the building so you are not fined by your building. Put anything of even small value aside such that it cannot be slipped into a mover's personal knapsack. Insist on tape that does not leave marks on furniture. Do not expect a fair settlement if anything is broken or damaged.

Used them to move within my apartment building. Not complicated.

They caused thousands of dollars of damage to our grand piano by dropping it and then concealed what they had done. After promising to address the problem, they refused to make payment and cut off contact. We have been forced to sue them. Any company can move furniture. The worth of the mover is how they react when something goes wrong. Awful customer service and dishonest management. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I had a terrible experience with Schleppers and was shocked by the company's dishonestly and lack of transparency. We contacted Schleppers about 30 days before our move and were in constant contact with them until the day of the move. We wanted to make sure everything was covered, as it was a busy moving season. About 10 days before the move, we asked about shifting the move by one day. Our coordinator actually told us that day was less busy, so our total would be less than the agreed-upon price. To our dismay, on the day of the move, the movers showed up with a bill for $1,100 MORE than the original price. We were certain there was some kind of mix-up, and it would be easy to get reimbursed for the difference. Sure enough, the Schleppers management team was a complete nightmare and refused to admit any wrongdoing, as did our coordinator. This company has no integrity, and they will promise you the world until they pull the rug out from under you when it's too late to find a different mover. Avoid Schleppers at all costs.

We decided to use Shleppers since close family had fantastic experiences with the company. Derek did a detailed estimate helping me through 38 years of furniture ,family treasures ,antiques and many more extremely valuable possessions. He made the process much more comfortable for me and helped me know what I could pack safely and what was best his team did for us .As promised it was fantastic! His team was organized polite and incredibly efficient. I thank you Derek you were right

I had a terrible experience w Schleppers

1. Multiple broken pieces of furniture, some they tried to hastily fix when I wasn’t looking with wood glue and clamps

2. Out of the entire crew (8 men) 2 wore masks during the move.

3. Communication between me and the dispatch team was terrible. Never told me when they were done in old house, no follow up after move.

4. When I filed a claim was told I didn’t purchase full value protection - was never mentioned or offered during any communication w company- so would get a tiny fraction of cost of damages

5. Boxes scattered throughout house and not in the right rooms - clothes in dining room etc

The Schleppers team is as good as it gets. Nick Rodriguez was upfront with pricing and worked with us right up until the day of our move to allow for adjustments - even if you don't have a perfect running inventory of your household contents, they are able to work with you to avoid surprise charges and ensure that nothing gets left behind. In addition, they took care of all arrangements with our new building and their strict moving policies - even seeing to it that Building Management had all required Certificates of Insurance on file ahead of our move-in date. Our crew of Sean Rodriguez, George and Abdellah were professional, courteous and friendly at all times and treated our belongings as if they were their own. My advice is to take as much stress out of moving day as possible and book with Schleppers ASAP!

Shleppers has office staff who are exceptionally responsive, and teams of packers and movers who are pleasant and professional on every level. The flexibility that this business offers is remarkable -- I needed to change my moving date 4 times in 2 months, and they could not have been more gracious or understanding. Having the first month of storage free gave both them and me greater flexibility when it came to delivery, as well.

I sought a moving company that would offer personalized service at a competitive price, and they exceeded my expectations. Ihired Shleppers because of a friend's recommendation, and am pleased to confirm their value.

Worst Customer Service I have ever received. This company is a joke, can't even live up to their word that was given.

Moving from CA. to TX., was looking for a smooth move with a reasonable delivery window. I have moved long distance a few other times and have never had any issues like these.

I called and spoke with Bobby Nazari and explained to him what I needed. He was very helpful and had told me that if I have my stuff picked up between 11/10-11/12, the delivery would happen within 5-10 days after pickup. He assured me that this is a route (CA-TX) the company travels often and that a quick delivery would not be a problem.

Movers showed up on the 11/12, loaded my stuff, they were nice/professional.

November 24, Wednesday I call Jesse Heeber, the Ops Mgr. I ask him for a time when my stuff would be delivered since it was nearing the 10 day window. He told me that my stuff is still in CA, that days on the contract are actually business days and that puts my move to be delivered sometime in December, usually within 14 business days.

Yesterday was business day 14 so I reached out to Jesse and silence is all I get. I reached back out to my salesperson, who when selling me the contract was over the top helpful, and he TEXTED me to contact Jesse (again no one at this company seems to know how to use a phone)...When I explained to him that I had already tried that route and would appreciate any help from him, he goes silent.

I didn't hesitate to pay up to use these movers based on the sales pitch that was given to about the quick turnaround for delivery. I also had my car shipped (from a different company) and that arrived within a week, so I ask why can't my belongings happen in the same amount of time. I am now beginning to realize that the sales pitch was just being used to close the deal and once they get your items you are at their mercy as to when they will be delivered. Anytime I call I get directed to an operator, who is pleasant, but cannot help me in anyway except to say my message will be passed on to someone??? Every time I call and ask to speak to a MGR or Supervisor, I just get the run around and brush off or they tell me to go through Jesse Heeber. Which is obviously not working. No one at this company wants to help me resolve my issue, everyone wants to pass the buck and the buck ultimately stops at Jesse Heeber's desk and won't be escalated any further. I never get a call from a live person, only a generic email stating I will receive a call 24 hours prior to delivery.

I was originally going to get a U HAUL truck and move everything myself but after speaking with Bobby Nazari, I trusted and had faith that Shleppers would do an honest job. BOY, was I wrong.

Final comment: I received my items on day 37 and of course more surprises came along with the drop off. The driver who was to deliver the items began the conversation right away with “you know we will have to get a shuttle truck which will be $400 more and then there will probably a long haul charge”. I tried to contact Jesse and of course no answer. He did finally email me stating that it is common to have these charges added on to the delivery which then I asked why my salesperson (Booby) didn’t explain that in his sales pitch. Also interesting that the payment was made by sending it through Zelle directly to the driver which he claimed he did not receive any of that money???

Please do your research extensively, ask lots of questions and get your answers in writing, and read the fine print because chances are the charges listed there will probably be added on to your bill.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I will never recommend this company; this company is the worst when it comes to customer service. This company is a joke, I would stay far away from this company.

Please do extensive research before contracting with this company, especially if you are doing a long distance move.

Run don’t walk from this company

If you care about your belongings do not use this moving company. During my move, three pieces of valuable furniture were damaged in the move. Not marred, but broken: legs torn off furniture, wood pieces snapped off. The movers were so quick that they showed no care in the fact they were handling items that were not made of iron. Then after damaging the furniture, the foreman stood around virtually shaking me down for a tip for the crew.

The way the foreman modified me was to state that Shleppers had experienced furniture restorers who would be able to repair the damage and I would be contacted by the next business day. This turned out to be a complete fabrication. There are no restorers. They force you into a bureaucratic claims process, before they can even talk to you and then after a week of filing, radio silence and no responses to calls.

If you listen to their outgoing message they state they pride themselves on customer service. The only service they provide is taking your money and damaging your property, and then they ignore you. Please do yourself a favor and find another moving company.
