I got a quote for $2500 from Sales on phone (Mike). I told him i read several reviews about the price changing when a driver is sent out to pick the items and he told me thats not true as long as i hive accurate description of items. I decided to even send pictures of my sofa to make sure it is properly quoted. Finally when the day of the move came the driver told me my items is about 570 cubic feet and not the 300+ i was given by the sales guy so my price will be $4700. Please just sell your items or deal with a small business owner that can come review your items. Dont deal with these movers they will frustrate your. Don’t forget they will never accept debit cards, but payment via quickbooks because they know the kind of business they do is shady and you wont be able to file a claim with tour bank. I never recieved a call from the movers to confirm a pick up time, and on Saturday (the day after my desired pickup date) no one had called. After trying to reach someone all morning, someone finally picked up and said they would come between 5-7pm. Long story short, the drivers came 3 hours after that and had no room in their truck to take my stuff, and also stated that I had more stuff than I told them, which wasn't true at all. They gave me a cost of $3500 more than the estimate if I wanted to move my stuff. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. This moving company sub-contracts and cannot locate their drivers. I chose to get a refund on the deposit and never use their services. But what an inconvinience to have when you are moving down the coast and the movers pull this on the day of your move.

BEWARE: I hired supposed "SH" moving company who promised me they were not brokers and would personally provide us with a professional move at a guaranteed price on a guaranteed day. I gave a substantial downpayment through VENMO with an agreed upon 50% of total amount due upon load in and the balance upon delivery, all which was outlined in our signed contract. Movers came a day -1/2 early, they were subcontractors in a budget rental truck and told me I had to pay twice as much as I had contracted for 400 cubic ft of furniture and had to pay 75% upon pick up. No one will answer my calls or text messages. I believe this is a fake company. Please beware. I lost my deposit and no one will answer my calls or texts. Lucas Wood was my contact.

If you want an inaccurate estimate and pay a thousand more than you are promised, by all means use this company. They'll tell you if you add a couple things the price won't change. Once you pay the initial payment and your stuff is on the move, the operator will not respond to you anymore. Especially that guy Blake. He's a scam artist. I tried calling with a different number and they blatantly hung up. By the time they are ready to deliver, they told me the street is too narrow and tried to charge me 500 more. The street was wide enough cause it had 2 lanes. Then when it came to the destination they left my stuff in the lobby of the building and didn't bother to deliver it to my apartment. Awful company. Use a different company! I couldn't stress it enough.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! SH MOVERS IS A BROKER, NOT A CARRIER! In the beginning, communication was consistent, but tapered off after our items were picked up. I was told the same crew that picked up our furniture would drive the shipment to our destination, unload goods and reassemble all furniture. None of this happened. On the day of pickup, the moving crew should have arrived between 9am-11am, but showed up around 3pm. To their credit, these 3 ½ guys (one member brought his 10-year old son to help) moved swiftly, albeit scratching our hardwood floors and some walls. At this time, the estimate amount changed. Originally quoted $3700, by the time they finished loading the truck, according to them, we had twice as much, and the total was now $7800. We paid the amount due, with the promise that we would receive a call from the company with the delivery date. After 3-4 days with no follow-up, we called the company on multiple phone numbers (which went to voicemail) sent texts (which were unanswered), emails to the customer service and claims department (no response), but did get an answer when we called the Quality Assurance department, who sent a message to Dispatch. We never heard back from Dispatch, but the driver himself called us while enroute on Friday, and confirmed he would arrive on Saturday morning at 7am. He arrived at 10am in an 18-wheeler that would not fit on our street. He left to get a smaller, 26’ truck to load our items in, which cost us an additional $400 for this “shuttle service.” Not all of our items would fit in the 26’ foot truck, so we had to use our own pickup truck to transport the remaining items, to avoid any additional fees. The crew returned to our home, and upon unloading said they don’t do stairs, when it was clearly marked on the paperwork that we have stairs in our home. After compromising, they unloaded the truck, and to our dismay, most of the boxes were severely damaged – major dents and dings, bottoms nearly falling out, furniture and appliances scratched despite the paddings and blankets used. They did not reassemble our tables or our furniture. We had to buy new screws and bolts to reassemble it ourselves, as the originals were lost in transit, along with two of our other boxes. Fortunately, most of our items arrived within a week of pickup, though in poor to fair condition. We will unlikely file a claim, as the contract clearly states, people will receive “far less” than the value of the items. Before settling with this company, we did read several reviews, and were hesitant to choose this company. When I asked the manager about the negative reviews, he said there is another company with the same name, and that the negative reviews were incorrectly being posted on their company’s page, an issue they were working with Google to resolve. Though after the lack of communication, change in estimate pricing, damaged goods, lost goods, tardiness, using our own vehicle and manpower to assist, and reassembling our things and buying the hardware to do so, sounds like all the negative reviews were indeed valid.

I am currently waiting for SH movers to deliver my furniture, They picked up my furniture on Nov/19, and today 2 weeks later I am still waiting for the delivery (expected Dec-1st). It has been incredibly hard to reach out to them, I wrote several emails, they don't answer calls et al. The only email reply I got, is that the standard time they take for delivery is 4 weeks after the expected delivery day (Means after Dec-1st). So basically I have to wait 4 weeks more!!! They wouldn’t give me any more information, like an approximate delivery day. I had to just wait at home, this is highly inconvenient since I work and need to travel for work sometimes. Also, Be aware of the initial quote. They give me an inicial quote of $2100, but the day of the loading, they applied gasoline and materials fees, the bill came up to $3200 (that is a 50% increase). I would update this review once I get my furniture, and talk about the state of my furniture.

SH Movers is arguably the worst moving company on the planet- all fake reviews. I paid in advance for a full-pack and cross-country move. They did they pack and I had to delay my move but then they refused to do it and instead charged me for months of storage instead prior to moving my stuff into a Manhattan Mini-Storage. I asked SH Movers to refund me for mileage and the time charges of cross-country move since they moved from manhattan to nearby New Jersey and back into Manhattan...a far cry fro NYC to San Francisco distance. They NEVER replied. Beat around the bush, said they would fulfill the move when I was ready. I just contacted again and their agent SHOUTED at me. I recorded the phone call because it was so egregious and will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau but guess what? They already have an F rating so clearly do not care. Finally after months of asking them who I file a claim with as the move was NEVER fulfilled and as I've been pulling things out of storage SO MUCH is damaged. Chandelier with glass globes, oversized planters, high-end shoes that they crushed by packing tons of heavy things on top. Honestly the experience has only been made worse by the fact that CSI doesn't answer their phone, respond to messages and I'm unable to file an online claim because it says my email is already registered- but when I go to change my password it says "no email found." What do I do here? Take these people to small claims court? Go after SH Movers and CSI?? I'm out 8k on the move and have a ton of damaged items. I'm honestly stunned by the lack of service and am just exhausted and distraught by this process- a move which was initiated back on December 30, 2020!

If it's too good to be true, it is. Be prepared to pay 50% more than what you're initially quoted. They try to extort you for more every step of the way. Want the full-pack option? Be prepared to have your stuff thrown in unlabeled boxes.

Their subcontracted crew's #1 goal is to get out of there as quickly as possible and they're not going to let keeping your stuff intact or damaging your house get in their way. Even the movers at pick-up and drop-off went on and on about how much they hate this company.

Yes, it's a scam company. Be smarter than me and read the specifics of the negative review instead of the cookie cutter positive reviews.

If I could give this company a rating of -10 it wouldn’t be enough to relay how unhappy I am with the service I received moving from Buffalo, New York to Mims, Florida. I initially contracted Fidelity Van Lines for my move. At no time in my several conversations with one of their representatives did they mention that they would be contracting my move out to another company. I secured their services with a down payment of $1500.00. When a date was decided upon for the move, I paid an additional $1250.00. It was my understanding at that time that when moving day arrived, I was to give them a check for $1200.00 and that another $1200.00 would be due upon delivery for a total of $5150.00. I would like to note that there were NO appliances, NO bedroom sets, NO dining set, NO couch, chair, or loveseat. There were approximately 12 pieces of furniture such as a trunk, a grandfather curio cabinet, 2 bookcases, a recliner, a small type of entrance bench and several accent tables as well as totes and boxes.

When the moving truck arrived, it was from SH Movers. The paperwork was filled out and was presented to me showed that the amount of the check I was to give them was not $1200.00 as the contract I signed stated, but $3783.75. Being that the closing for my home was for that same day, just hours away, what was a person to do? From the time the paperwork was being done when they arrived until they were done loading the person that seemed to be the lead person suggested to me that they would be expecting a tip. This was mentioned not once but at least a half dozen times.

When the moving truck arrived at my new residence many of the new totes, I had purchased for the move had damaged lids and missing clamps on the ends. Many of the heavy-duty boxes I had purchased also had damage. I’m still unpacking and so far, have found a several broken pieces and boxes that seem to have been gone through. BEWARE!

These guys were hired for our move from Wappingers Falls, NY to Lewes, DE at the end of August. In May my wife (without doing her homework on them) hired Fidelity out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. They flat out lied to her when she asked if they were brokers. They said no but that's what they are. Our move was scheduled for August 30th. On the 29th we called Fidelity, and they said a dispatcher would call us between 3-5 PM on when they were coming. We never got a call. On move day we were told they weren't coming until the next day, August 31st (when we absolutely had to be out) and they would come between noon and 3. 3 PM, no show. We call and they say 4-5 PM. Now we're panicking and thinking we got scammed. They finally show up at nearly 6 PM. The only good thing I can say was they moved fast. We had 133 boxes and a few pieces of furniture. Once they packed the truck, they wanted 70% of the bill which was double what we were quoted but we were over a barrel. The new owners were ready to move in. We were told they would deliver to our new home in Lewes, DE the next day (Sept. 1st). They didn't come until Saturday Sept. 3rd. Again, they worked fast and were paid the balance. When they left, they had not put our bed back together and our motorized reclining sofa was not hooked up right. The truck they delivered with was different than the one they picked up with. The extra 2 days they had our stuff they moved from the original truck to who knows where before loading to the new truck. Once unloaded we noticed several boxes crushed or broken. Two floor standing lamps were broken as well as some glassware in a few boxes. They also left behind a small box that wasn't ours and I'm sure we're missing at least one box of our stuff because now that we're unpacked some things are missing. They also somehow managed to bend a drawer and break a caster on my tool chest. I emailed them my concerns and never heard back from them. Calling does no good because you get voicemail or someone who knows nothing. I would give them minus stars if I could.

I want to tell my story in detail because when I was looking for information on those companies I didn’t find much besides many fake reviews. So our moving process started with me calling Value Added Moving company and them giving me an estimate. But the trick they do after you describe in detail all items you need to move is they tell you that you would need much smaller space in the truck than you would actually need and they give you a great discount on that price, but the price for square feet stays the same. So this Value Added Moving company are brokers and look on the market for movers with the truck to come to pick up your stuff. You don’t even know which company will come. So in our case, we were very unlucky and our stuff was picked up by SHMovers. If you call their phone they say something like “Sorry our office was affected by covid 19 and all our limited staff is busy with other customers, the best way to contact us is over email”. There is no call waiting for estimates, or offer to call you back, they send you right to the voice mail. And no matter when you call it’s the same result. One time I tried the extension putting my finger in the air and got to some real person, but then he transferred me back to the broker, who told me that I need to contact SHMovers. So it’s a closed circle.. if any problems and you’ll have lots of those with them for sure there is no way to get to them to solve them. So scammy.

So to continue the story on the day SHMovers picked up our stuff after loading it in the truck they told us that we need to pay two and half times more than the estimate, which was 18K.. we didn’t have the choice we had to pay them, because we had to move that day. We gave them a month to drive from the east to the west coast. But when it got to the delivery date, they said it will take additional 7-21 days to deliver. We have 2 small kids and it was a real challenge to be without any furniture with them in an empty house. Apparently after pick up they unload everything in a local storage facility and then load everything back around the date they were supposed to deliver, so they drive a few more days after that.

So eventually a few days later they arrived.

We needed some paper on outdoor furniture (agricultural matter), but nobody told us anything.. so professional! So our things had to be in quarantine and after delivery, they had to be inspected.

When I was signing the contract the person from Value Added Moving company told us that all items will be disassembled and reassembled at the delivery place and all boxes will be left in the room according to the note on the box. But on the delivery day, it was a mess, they lost some screws from some disassembled furniture and other furniture with screws they refused to assemble. So all disassembled furniture is not useful now. They lost a few other items during that unloading uploading process and they were trying to give us some furniture that wasn’t ours. They have left behind most of the packing material, so we have to utilize it ourselves. I’ve emailed them letting them know about problems but no reply…

Are all moves like that? Or there is a good company out there?

After explaining to them many times over the size of the move, they sent a truck which was too small, by 33%. The movers were contractors and not employees of S&H. They were friendly and packed everything well. At the end, when everything they could pack, a third of the move remained in the house. I called S&H and told them of the issue, but they would charge us full price for a whole other truck to take what they couldn't fit, which was their mistake in the first place, as they wouldn't listen to what I was telling them that needed to be packed. I had to rent a truck myself to load, pack and drive 2100 miles to our new home. This company ONLY ACCEPTS ZELLE as a payment, which was not made clear to us before we started the move with them. ZELLE is not a platform for business transactions, not does it provide any protections for services bought. Contact with this company during the move is nearly impossible. They eventually get back to you our you have to call many times in order to get someone to pick up. The owner will never talk to you, even when he's standing right never to the person on the phone to which your are speaking. Everything they packed was delivered, but the contacted drivers don't stick around long enough for you to inspect everything. Half of our dishes were broken, which cannot be replaced. Several things that seemed to be packed well were also broken. They use a contractor setup and they drop your shipment at warehouse to be contacted out to another group. The dropoff truck was a rolling nightmare, leaking almost three quarts of oil where it sat while they unpacked. Stay clear of this company.

This company moved my dad's stuff from storage locker to my home. I was unable to be there when they picked up the unit. They engaged in theft beyond belief. Half of my dad's things were stolen. Boxes that stated things inside for example Mac Desk Computer, battery Ryobi tools, Dremel Sets, antique lamps. This company decided when they picked up the things they were stealing them because it was never put on the manifest. At delivery the driver was rude. When asked questions about things that were missing he would grunt an grumble. Then when done he tore the paperwork out of my hands an drive off. I never was able to write what was missing nor did I sign for complete delivery. Also they take everything in payment when getting your things but at delivery they ONLY except CASH. Worst company to deal with. Then I filled a claim spent four months finally the claims said yes an I am owed money. S an H has not paid an I will probably never see it. Stay Away from these clowns.

SH aka S & A movers arrived to take manufacturing equipment from NY to CO to open up a second print shop location for our business. They instantly informed us that in order to move the entire list of equipment we provided to All Coast during booking, it would cost us an additional $6,000 on top of the $8,000 quote. They could not explain where the discrepancy occurred since the list did not change, and said we needed to contact our rep at All Coast.

Since this move is time sensitive, we chose to send as much equipment as we could for the original $8,000 price, about 35% of the original shipment list. We were told "someone" would contact us with an update once the equipment shipped, and that two of our employees could fly out to receive the shipment 12/6 - 7. We've reached out to All Coast and SH for an update via email, phone, and text throughout the last 10 days and each time we have been told we would get an update from management ASAP, yet we heard nothing. I have called their customer service phone number three separate times, each time chatting with a rep who could not give me an update, but assured me they would get it to someone who would call us back, and we were on track to receive the shipment in CO between 12/6 - 12/8.

We finally heard from a dispatcher on the day we sent employees to CO, but all he said was he could not give us a tracking update, but everything was on track and he would update us the next day. We never got a call that our shipment was out for delivery as promised, or got any tracking info. Sending employees to CO to get the shipment at the new building was a total waste, we were informed 3 days after flying back to NY that the shipment would arrive on a Sunday. In order to push it to Monday, we would be charged storage and redelivery fees.

Upon delivery, we were told only cash or venmo would be accepted, that way we cant refuse payment. Our equipment was dinged up, and these tactics manipulate people to react out of impulse and fear.

I was almost willing to forgive things like changing the price after the fact, and additional charges for switching vans, and a few broken items. I did receive my items within about two weeks which sounds better than others, but when I was calling to find out when they'd be arriving, I believe his name was Lucas. He was always good about answering the phone when they wanted me to book, but once I called to find out when the movers would be arriving he stopped answering my calls. As if they were done with me, I called many times within days and no response. Then the call went straight to voicemail as if he had blocked my number. Awful fake people

If I could give them a 0 I would. I know moving is expensive, but please go with a reputable company. Save yourself a headache and the worry of where your things are. Verify on BBB.org. The website is legit and you can see the complaints many customers have submitted. I used this company in 2021 to move and it was a terrible experience. They would not return my calls and ended up charging me $1000 more than estimated. They write reviews to help their ratings on many sites but do not trust them.
