I contracted with this company in May 2023. My worst experience ever with any company. They picked up my belongings on May 18, 2023, and I was told it would be delivered on May 22, 2023. I called on May 23, asking about the delivery. I was told they have up to two weeks to deliver my belongings. The person was very rude and sent me an email concerning the two weeks delivery policy. I was very upset because I was told I would have my items on that Monday. My items were delivered on June 1, 2023. I was very upset. I incurred over $500 in daily living expenses because I moved over 1000 miles. I didn't have the necessary items to function everyday living. We also had to purchase unnecessary items and clothes.

When things were finally delivered. I had to pay an additional 1500 because they said where I live in an area that didn't allow a tractor-trailer on my street. They said they had to get two box trucks. And additional movers because i had a lot of items. They used 2 guys and the same single box truck to deliver ALL my items. They made two trips. I called the guy and told him this. I asked him why is he charging me 1500 when there were only 2 guys, and they used the same truck. I reiterated what he said about 2 trucks and additional drivers. He was very sarcastic. The price was increased four times from the initial 4k to 7k than an additional 7k and 1500 the day of the delivery.

This company is SCAM, and it was listed 5 stars on goggle. I'm disgusted and very angry. I paid over 15k to have my belongings moved. Several items were either broken, scratched, or stolen. I've only shown a few things. This company is a brokerage company which I didn't know. They get your money and charge double the price. They subcontract their workout and don't tell their customers. I called the company to tell them all the things that were stolen or broken. They referred me to a 3rd party. I was given an email in that email, and it stated to keep the items that were in the packaging. I threw them out, not knowing their poilcy prior to seeing the policy. I was stated you can be denied if you don't have the package it was wrapped in, etc. They don't tell you this prior to contracted.

Having to relocate my family and entire home had me extremely stressed and worried. SH Movers was a dream come true! Going into this endeavor I’ve herd horror stories about moving companies. Although this was anything but. After going through my inventory with a moving specialist the rep was extremely informative and helpful. It didn’t stop there. The day before my scheduled pick up date I received a phone call confirming our appointment and the movers showed up on that day ready to work! Initially concerned that the delivery would somehow be messed up it was to my delight that all my belongings arrived within the delivery window and just how they left my home. I highly recommend SH Movers not only because of their fair pricing and service but the fact that after having made my reservation I never really had a pain point in the process. To me that’s money well spent.

Our family scheduled a move with them from California to Utah. They gave us a really good price and when we looked at the reviews we were excited and paid a $500 advance.

Then came the nightmare. They just decided to not answer calls, show up or anything at all. READ THEIR CONTRACT WHICH REQUIRES YOU TO MAIL A REFUND REQUEST WITHIN 5 DAYS AND EVEN THEN THEY CAN JUST KEEP YOUR MONEY.

A PHYSICAL, WRITTEN REQUEST IS WHAT THEY REQUIRE. LOOK AT THE PICTURE.

Please oh please...DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. They swindled me for $1000. Which I paid extra for 5 day delivery. The truck showed up almost 3 weeks LATE. Some of my stuff was broken. The movers absolutely did not care at all. Listen moving is stressful enough, please do your homework on moving companies. I truly wish I did. Stay away from the shysters. I called, I emailed, left multiple messages for this company to call me back and I heard nothing but crickets. Shame on them!!!

SH Movers lost my coffee table. During the move, they had to change trucks because the one they loaded my furniture on broke down. During that process they left my coffee table off the truck that eventually delivered the rest of my furniture. The driver stated my coffee table was at their warehouse. When I called the company, they confirmed it was in the warehouse and they would call when they had another truck going to my area. After months of calling they now state they don't have my table.Now they won't take my phone calls and are not following up with their warehouse manager to see where my coffee table is. They stated they would email a claim form which they have not done. What really sucks is they are screening my calls and refuse to call back to settle this issue. I called them from my phone, which they let go to voice mail, then immediately called from another phone, which they answered. They have poor customer services skills and do not work to resolve issues. If they had the foresight and called their warehouse manager in the beginning to see where my coffee table is, then this issue could be resolved by now. This table was my mother's table who died of COVID in January, so it is a special table for me.

What an absolutely terrible experience. It was estimated that we would need half of a trailer to move us from NY to MD. We were quoted a price of $3500, but ended up paying over $11,000. We paid to have our stuff packed by the movers. We were told “Sit back and relax. We will take care of everything.” The movers showed up on time but didn’t know it was agreed that they would pack our stuff. They threw our stuff in wardrobe boxes filling each one less than halfway. This caused us to need the whole truck instead of half the truck. They didn’t even touch our kitchen or bathroom. I had to rent a moving truck and drive 4+ hours each way to come load the rest of our stuff. Two weeks after they moved us out, we received our stuff from the movers. There were a couple items that were destroyed including a printer/ fax worth $250. After a very long reimbursement process through a third party company they decided to reimburse us $12.60. Somehow the legs to our sofa didn’t make the trip either. Ridiculous!!! Please people, look somewhere else for your moving needs.

Beware. This company kept my $731 deposit after I canceled the order because they kept trying to up charge me and told me they weren’t sure they would make it to my place by my vacate date. Of course they told me all of this after the 72 hour cancellation window. The way they take advantage of people is really sad. When I told them I would sue I was replied to with “good luck”. The claims number listed on the invoice told me they don’t even service them anymore. Please consider another moving company, or better yet use a Penske truck or a U-box with U Haul which is what I am opting for.

I recommend to stay away from SH Movers, and here is why:

1. The company charged me extra $ upon arrival. Staff continued to add to the initial charge I negotiated over the phone with an intermediary == Value Added Moving - Nationwide Interstate Moving Specialists (from which I also recommend to stay away).

2. The company was not responsive to my complaint, which included damage and literally theft of my personal belongings in excess of $2,000.

3. The company representative left keys to my U-Haul unit under the door, which exposed my items to theft/damage.

Thus, please use services of a professional company, not a company with loose standards and unprofessional staff.

This company was terrible. Everything that could be broken was broken. I was quoted one price & I didn't have much but once they came & got all my belongings loaded they added on over a extra thousand dollars. I can say the guys were fast with wrapping my things up & getting them loaded but between the pick up & drop off my items were broken, i.e. fishtank, jewelry armoire, speakers, wall unit & more. I only had basic insurance which didn't cover the damages so they only gave me $150 when my stuff was worth way more. They barely answer the phone once they have your belongings. It took way longer for my items to arrive than they initially stated. This was a big lesson for me. I hope this helps someone else as I didn't read reviews before hand as I was pressed for time & out of town w

I could not disagree with all of the 5-star reviews more and in fact I'm sure this company is finding a way to scrub reviews. Working with SH movers has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I had initially booked with International Van Lines but one of SH's salespeople, named Mike, called me and sold me on his company, telling us that they'll be with us every step of the way and give us the best service possible because they're much smaller than the larger brokers.

After making very clear to the salesperson, again , Mike, that we need our things delivered by Jan 2, 2021 or shortly thereafter, and even counting out the calendar days with him on the phone, the company still entered Jan 2 as our "Earliest Date of Delivery" meaning that they will not even start thinking about how to deliver your goods until that date. SH picked my goods up from my apartment in NYC on Dec 9, 2020 and a couple weeks later, I called to make sure everything was okay, only to find out that my things were sitting in their warehouse and that there was no way I would get my things until mid-to-late January.

Over the course of the past few weeks, SH has only returned one of my calls and it has been a struggle to get anyone to pick up the phone. Clearly not the sort of service you expect when they are holding $50,000 worth of your belongings.

After reaching out to SH every day of the week, they were apparently able to get my goods on a truck on Thursday, Dec 31, 2020, only to find out on Friday, Jan 8, 2021, that the truck turned around "due to weather related issues" and brought our goods back to the warehouse in New Jersey after delivering several other customers' items. Immediately checking the national weather service showed no inclement weather anywhere across the country.

At this point, we are at a loss for words and we have no idea where our things actually are.

Help? Please?

DO NoT USE this company as I have made a huge mistake hiring this so called movers. This company doesn't even move the stuff, they are double brokering loads and passing on to God knows who and no one is answering their calls or emails when reaching out to them about my household goods. I'm getting ready to file a missing freight report and have DOT get involved due to the fact it has been over 21 days per their term that I still haven't received my stuff, nor they're giving me any answers as to where their so called driver is, who is not even SH movers driver or even responding back to me. No word as to when I might get my stuff, which has been picked up over a month ago and no one is answering their calls or emails. Again do your homework people, do not trust this company or do business with them, unfortunately I truly regret for not checking on them first.

The sales process was great...but it has to be to cover up what a customer experiences once the deposit has been paid. I worked with James Whitlock on my estimate. He vastly underestimated the space my items would take up so once the team arrived to pick up my stuff, my actual costs went up by 25%. The team who packed my stuff was lead by Rafe and he was great. He and his team were professional, proactively communicated with me, kept their time commitments and were efficient once on site. Rafe was the only person in this entire company who would return my texts and calls. After my stuff was picked up, I had to call the dispatch team multiple times to try to get updates. They told me it wasn't their job to know where my stuff is and would have to call the driver to get an update. Dispatch never once answered my call the first time (enjoy their condescending voicemail message) and only occasionally deigned to call me back stating that they do not work weekends. I finally got the cell number of the truck driver (who works for an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT COMPANY) who promised a delivery of Saturday morning 3 weeks post pick up. Despite no proactive updates from him, I was able to reach him a few times only to find my delivery date and time to be pushed back 4 times over the course of one weekend. Finally on Sunday night, 2 hours later than the most recent delivery time (7p on a Sunday! Unbelievable!), I find out that my stuff is not actually on the truck in my city...it was 650 miles away. Rafe returned my texts despite a very late Sunday night and said there had been a problem with whatever company actually delivers the customer's items. Again, I had to call to get my delivery information, rather than the driver or the company calling me. Again, the delivery was pushed from Friday evening to Saturday morning. To top it all, the driver was 2 hours late and was ALONE. He told me it'd take him 2 hours to unpack and reassemble my items...it took ME, MY BROTHER AND him 2.5 hours to unpack it all. My brother did at least half of the heavy lifting and without him, I'm certain the delivery would have lasted twice the time it took us. Of course, I haven't heard from James or Renee at dispatch nor anyone else. What a disaster. If I knew this nightmare was going to be half as bad as it actually was, I would have spent the money on moving myself. To boot, an item was broken and SH Movers contracts the claims process out to another company just like they do the delivery. Use any other company or drive your stuff yourself.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Scammers, Liars & Cheats! Be very careful! These are not movers; they are freight forwarders disguised as movers. They have a very convincing “sales” team who will promise you everything, provide a low competitive price, then totally screw you. I’m giving them 2 stars because our stuff did arrive, but only after one of the most stressful upsetting weeks of my family’s life. When our move arrived, it was packed in a freight container – not a moving truck. They had no lift nor ramp. The container was 53 feet long. The crew who moved us out seemed to know their business and were pros, BUT the unload crew were day workers from the area. Two of them told me that they were “basically homeless” and live week by week in motels. One of the other hands was clearly a drug addict with signs of injection points on his arms and neck. This was scary. One of the other hands asked me if he could recharge his ankle bracelet. The unload was twice as long as the load, which is the opposite of what should happen. We did not want them working on our stuff to place, build etc.

Many of our items were signifiable damaged or destroyed. At one point in the unload, we realized that our vacuum cleaner was propping up 2-3 boxes and chairs. The chairs we destroyed, when they came tumbling down

We thought we contracted with SH Movers which has good reviews. The actual deal is done through My Professional Movers. Google and read Yelp reviews and see the nightmares that these horrible humans was perpetrate on their “victims”.

This company changes its name uses shoddy sub contracts and changes their “plans” on the daily – that is if you can get in touch with them. We chose this company NOT because of price, we chose them because they promised a direct load and fast delivery. They told us that truck would pick up our load and go to the new home. NOT TRUE. They took the load to Irvine (so we think) put it in a warehouse, then loaded it 9 days later into the semi. We probably called, text and emailed them 50+ times in the week prior to delivery. We had no idea of what was happening.

They did deliver and similar to other reviews it does not appear that these people are thieves, but they are scammers.

I honestly don’t want to waste my time even writing a review because I am so over it, but my moving experience with SH Movers Los Angeles started off great, but ended with a disaster. I selected this company because they are one of the few who have even remotely decent reviews.

I am not going to write a book and only going to tell you about my experience a nutshell.

I did an itemized list to the moving coming and got a quote for $2800, I went item by item. When they showed up and after they packed 50% of the house they told me I had more stuff, but these stickers they place on each of items in my house (beware those stickers get stuck on all of your items and your going to spend minutes removing each sticker) the new cost was $5400. Way over what we agreed to almost by 100%, which I figured it would have to come out a little bit more out of pocket, but not that by that much.

The gentlemen’s name who was the Lead mover named Califa (I dont know if I spelled his name right) after leaving my house with a fully packed Enterprise branded 28 foot truck. Everything seemed legit and good, outside of being almost 100% additional cost. I badly wanted to get out of the California so honestly I didn’t care about the cost, it was disappointing, but I just wanted to get out.

When the truck arrived in my new place, all of my stuff was in another 28 foot truck with no branding just a white 28 foot truck and I am not kidding about when I say this, Kalifa decided for whatever reason to unload the entire truck and put it into a new one. Because of this “MOST” of the boxes were smashed and upside down. I lost glass pieces expensive stuff, furniture was damaged, paintings were smashed.

Califa made a very poor decision on the customers behalf and I am not kidding probably 40% of all of my stuff had scratches, or was smashed into pieces including my 75inch TV which a massive scratch in the middle of it.

Pros I got my stuff the very next day.

Cons everything else.

Would I recommend SH Movers? No I wouldn’t, I would of done it myself and saved a bunch of money, but it wasn’t about money for me it was about my stuff arriving in one piece which they completely failed on, but Califa’s poor decision of moving my stuff from one truck to another was the deal breaker, I am sure everything would of came into one piece if it wasn’t for that unnecessary shifting. FYI they picked up all of my stuff on Friday and delivered on Saturday that was the only good that came out of this.

If I could take back time I would of went with a POD or did it myself if I knew the outcome.

Califa shame on you, SH Movers should do a full investigating in your bad decision making skills. Not that you care its probably another job for you, but your bad decision ruined a majority of my stuff that meant something to me like Glass Dressers, boxes, paintings and a TV.

This is why SH Movers get a 1 star from me, and sadly they lost a lot of business. Since my move, my parents are moving out of state with me including one of my friends. They asked me who I used to move and they are now going with PODs vs SH Movers.

***DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

This is our 4th interstate move in nine years and we have never been more upset and disillusioned by a moving company. This move was coast to coast from New York to California. Starting with the basic facts that they touted being a carrier and not a broker, they hired another company to move us. They had given us an estimate for the move and the week before the move adjusted the estimate (higher!) than the initial one after my husband walked room to room and described what was in each one. They did not give us an opportunity to have someone come to the house to give an estimate based on what they say. That was our mistake to not require it! Please, make sure that you have your movers give an estimate with a visit to your home.

Once the movers came, they loaded the truck and then told us that there is too much stuff and they would need to return the next day with another truck. They charged extra for the second truck and TRIPLED the price of the estimate. (Seriously, initial estimate was $7,800 adjusted to $8546.62 with a final price of $18,390!) To top it off, when my husband negotiated the driver said that the total will be $15,000 (still, twice the initial price) and it turned out that it was the remaining balance after our deposit.

Once the second truck arrived, they still did not fit all of our items and we were left with a need to get rid of items that we had intended on bringing, which we now need to replace.

Once the movers arrived in California, they unloaded the truck. There were many broken items (chairs, LOTS of broken dishes) and most of the boxes were crushed (!!!) including wardrobe boxes, major dents to the refrigerator, box freezer, and metal toolboxes. The movers were supposed to assemble our three beds. My husband took the lead on assembling the King-sized bed when they were completely overwhelmed by it. They also left numerous boxes in the yard and didn’t even bring them into the house, and left garbage in front of the house.

Of course, the movers had us sign documents the night before they left. There was NO WAY to assess damages or to know what, if anything, was missing. We ended up with someone else’s items (this man was smart enough to have his business card attached to one item) so I was able to contact him. No idea where our missing items are.

I have contacted the company and gotten no response.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $18390

Their initial estimate is apparently based on data they have regarding the "average" size (in cubic feet) of the various pieces of furniture you tell them that have to be moved. In my case, their estimate was woefully inaccurate, and the price of my move effectively DOUBLED after all of my things were already on the truck. I actually had to throw away a couch that I had wanted to keep because I couldn't afford to move it, as the price would have gone even higher. However, I will say that the guys that came to my home to pack everything up did a decent job.

Once everything is picked up, the contract states that it will be delivered in between 7-14 business days. Unfortunately, once your items are picked up, the salesperson you spoke with to make the deal is useless to you, as they have no info on logistics for the delivery. You are directed to send a TEXT to a random number for information on your delivery date and time. If/When you get a response, they generally have no idea when the delivery will be, but they tell you that you'll be notified 24 hours before the delivery date. In my case, I was notified approximately 16 hours before, and at the time I was 450 miles away finishing up at my old residence. Had to drive all night to be there for my 7am delivery.

By 9am, the driver had not shown. I called him on the number that he called me from, and was informed that he had run into traffic and had to stop driving the night before. He'd be arriving around 11am. Fine. When he arrives, I'm told that before he does anything, I need to pay the balance. I ask to make sure all my things are on the truck, and am told no, pay first, then we start unloading. If anything is missing, put in a claim.

Overall, my items arrived in decent shape. However, the driver appeared to be the only one associated in any way with SH Movers. The other two guys appeared to be local hired day-laborers to help carry stuff, and were not professional movers, hence all the scuffs on my new walls. Oh, and there was no effort at all on their part to re-assemble my bed frames or anything like that. When I asked about it, the driver was confused and said, "you want us to do that"? I told them to forget it and just leave.

My advice? If you truly need to move furniture (and you REALLY need to think about this before you make a decision), hire a professional moving company. You'll pay more, but you'll get piece of mind.

Where do I start............. I moved my daughter from Oklahoma to Wisconsin in January. At the time she was 7 months pregnant. She gave me a detailed list of her belongings and I contracted SH Movers. Total was 375 cu.ft. When the mover came (1 day late) no-one spoke English. She told them several times that not everything was being moved yet they continued to load her landlords stuff. Nearing the end they told her she had 675 cu.ft. so the price went from $2594 to $5600+!! When the items were delivered, the driver told me there was 375 cu. ft. which is exactly what we told them to begin with! There were 10 boxes missing, her glass top stove was broken, items were mis-marked e.g. a vacuum, wooden bed slats, a laundry basket and a swiffer mop were all marked as Large boxes! I called to complain and was given the number of a third party insurance adjuster. I filed a claim for missing items, over-charge and broken items including the stove. The total amount I claimed was $2083. plus $500 for the stove and $1000 for the missing boxes....They are allowed by law 120 days to finish your claim. So yesterday was the 120th and the settlement offer is..........[EDIT]..........$253.00! And that doesn't even cover the over charge, which they said has to be done directly with SH! Are you kidding me!!!

At time of booking I was extremely excited and looking forward with this company. Blake, the person I spoke to was very helpful. Then it all went downhill. I called after reading reviews with my concerns. One being the time of delivery. I was assured my move was less than 800 miles and I would have no problems getting my stuff. I was supposed to get a call two days later to confirm pick up. No one called me to confirm pick up. Movers showed on day of pickup, same time as someone finally had the decency to call back (two days later). At pick up I was asked when someone was available at destination for delivery and I told them immediately, but agreed to have things delivered 5 days later. The 5 days have come and gone and no sign of my stuff. Received a call saying that it could take anywhere from 5 days to 30. I’m set to start my new job in a couple of days and I won’t be able because I’m missing my stuff. At time of pick up my estimate was adjusted by a thousand dollars because I had more stuff than they originally had quoted me for.

In short, I’m writing this review so that others know what to expect and plan accordingly

I want to do a class action lawsuit against this company. After reading the reviews its been three weeks. I still haven't gotten my furniture. They charged me an extra $1,400 dollars when they came to pick up my furniture. I had no choice because I already signed a contract and gave over a $587.00 deposit though zelle. They have all my new furniture over $10,000 dollars worth. Plus all my deceased mother and father family things that was special to me. They lied and said they moved the furniture themselves come to find out they contract it out. You can't get them on the phone after they get you to sign up with them. They fu...ked with the wrong one. Just got a lawyer involved. Will be contacting the media as well. Anyone want to sue please do so they need to be stopped. Please don't use sh movers. Scam and rip off. Its cruel what they are doing to people

I got a quote for $2500 from Sales on phone (Mike). I told him i read several reviews about the price changing when a driver is sent out to pick the items and he told me thats not true as long as i hive accurate description of items. I decided to even send pictures of my sofa to make sure it is properly quoted. Finally when the day of the move came the driver told me my items is about 570 cubic feet and not the 300+ i was given by the sales guy so my price will be $4700. Please just sell your items or deal with a small business owner that can come review your items. Dont deal with these movers they will frustrate your. Don’t forget they will never accept debit cards, but payment via quickbooks because they know the kind of business they do is shady and you wont be able to file a claim with tour bank. When you pay that deposit over the phone no refund
