Using this moving company was an absolute nightmare. For the love of God please hire someone else. The initial quote I received was completely inaccurate and I ended up paying over twice the amount they originally quoted. Not a single voicemail or email was ever returned, even though I tried to reach out multiple times over several weeks. They did not ship my items until two weeks after they were originally picked up. When I questioned the mover about the price he SCREAMED at me. I am not exaggerating in the least. He did not only interrupt me and raise his voice he fully screamed at the top of his lungs because I asked for clarification. I do not know if this is because I am a young woman or this just blatant disrespect that all their customers are given. Also, they lost my entire bedframe. I genuinely do not understand how they have received so many positive reviews, I would only recommend this company to my worst enemy.

This was our first time using a moving company and we are very happy with the prompt, efficient, and kind service we received. Three movers from Safebound Moving & Storage helped us move a to of items in less than 4 hours. They were magicians with packing tape, communicated with us clearly and patiently, and handled our surprise additions to the move with grace and kindness. Assuming our belongings arrive in DC unscathed, this cross-country move will be as painless as possible.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7500

I went with this moving company based on the reviews and I would never use them again. They quoted me one price and then after my items were on the truck said I owed another $3500. My boxes marked FRAGILE were smashed. Luckily I had packed them well and only had a few items broken. They lost some items, dragged my safe upside down on the concrete and when I tried to file a claim online the form kept disappearing as I attempted to fill it out. Several people gave me the runaround when I inquired about my lost items and then did not return my phone calls or emails. I would NOT use this company again.

Worst moving company we've ever experienced. They did a cross-country move via a brokered arrangement (which we did not know about ahead of time, red flag). Although conducted a FaceTime quote to see entire apartment, and we selected this company based on that quote, they arrived 6pm (!) on the night before move-out and demanded a 150% increase on price based on information that should have already been known (number of rooms/items) -- what choice do you have under that sort of duress? Furthermore, charged over $1500 in packing supplies and some new extra distance fee, all things that were already known at the time of quote -- just bonkers. Workers bothered entire apartment complex being loud and mask-less until 3am. Workers were in terrible condition, none brought water or food and seemed to have not slept for days. Other end, same story - zero professionalism (dozens of stories not enough time to share them all), nobody brought even a utility knife to unbox or unwrap and had to borrow from us (and we had to ask where it was before they left, it was about to be stolen), they left mounds of plastic strewn around and didn't even finish unpacking before leaving. Many items scratched and dinged. Extremely expensive, not worth it at all, better off just putting up an ad on Craigslist. SCAM in every sense. We did not even directly contract with the actual moving company that we worked with (ProSmart) and were passed off to them by Safebound Moving & Storage unbeknownst to us. Extremely unethical companies, both of them. Only hope is even just one person that can read and benefit from this and avoid any business to a terrible organization.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $20000

Worst moving company we've ever experienced. They did a cross-country move via a brokered arrangement (which we did not know about ahead of time, red flag). Although I sent pictures and an an itemized list of my boxes and items, the amount doubled from the time the movers arrived.

The pick up crew demanded a 100% increase on price based on information that should have already been known -- what choice do you have under that sort of duress? Furthermore, charged over $900 in packing supplies and some new extra distance fee, all things that were already known at the time of quote -- just bonkers.

My personal property was damaged on the move out and I had to pay out my security and wasn't offerent reimbursement. Many items scratched and dinged and no longer usable.

Extremely expensive, not worth it at all, and unethical company.

Only hope is even just one person that can read and benefit from this and avoid any business with these scammers.

I have used Safebound to move my belongings in Florida multiple times. My primary contact was and always has been Mr. Carvalho. His professionalism and punctuality on all of the moves he took care of for me was simply remarkable. I also use Safebound with all my key people who work for me across our country. He always calls people back, follows up, follows through, shows he cares and does what you ask! This is Safebound to me and Mr. Carvalho sets this example so well. Safebound will always be my first call when a move is needed by me or any of my companies. Thank you, Frank! NOTE: I cannot remember all of the movers' names but their care and courtesies were always evident and much appreciated. Thank you all!!

Contracted Safebound for move from Florida to Colorado. They increased my cost over $3K on move-out day!!! They also lost and damaged my goods, with no followup on reimbursement. Bait and switch!!!! They hold you "hostage" on move-out day knowing you HAVE TO AGREE to cost increase because you don't have any choice when you have to vacate your house on that day. Don't fall for their virtual estimate!!! Move out foreman will increase your contract cost with his "visual" inspection per his "years of experience" in moving goods. Salesman will become unreachable once you've given them your down payment, move-out payment, and delivery payment. Foreman pressures you to tip workers even before they move a single item! Delivery driver tried to get more $$$ saying stairs was not included in delivery service, but Safebound was informed stairs was present at delivery and initial estimate included it. No integrity, no professionalism! Once they get your money at initial contract estimate they will take your wallet for a ride!!!

After researching many companies, we decided to use Safebound based on their reviews and their customer service when obtaining a quote. My husband is disabled so to was important to me to have a smooth transition. The pick up and loading in NY went smoothly and professionally. BUT the drop off was a nightmare. We were advised that our possessions were first going to Boston to be transferred to another truck which was a little confusing. The truck arrived on time but with ONE mover,not the 4 guys who originally did the loading, to do all the unloading by himself. We had been promised that everything would be put into the correct rooms and we wouldn't have to do anything. He was putting the boxes wherever he wanted to, but that was in-between him trying to recruit our new neighbors and a lawn maintenance man to help him for cash. He kept asking me to help him carry things. I contacted the moving company several times during this time and they told me not to do anything but the guy kept saying he had to leave and needed help. Many of our boxes arrived completely destroyed with irreplaceable possessions broken beyond repair. Not to mention the damage to the wall that this man did.They offered no refunds at all and told me to file a claim. I filed a claim in October and was just offered a $6.00 settlement basically saying we packed the boxes so not their fault. Ripped, torn and caved in boxes is not achieved from carefully loading a truck. Needless to say I would never recommend this company to anyone!

So this move is in progress, and I will edit accordingly. This far I am taking off 1 star because they are late. They told my sister and I that they would arrive between 11AM and 3PM. We called at 3:00 because no one showed up or called us. They said they were running late from their last job.

I took off another star for poor communication. There is no reason they couldn’t communicate that they were running 2 hours behind schedule. We planned our day around their selected timeframe. It takes 2 minutes to call and say, “expect us at 5:00 instead.” I really hope their service is better from here on out.

Edit: changed to 2 stars because they charged $1,200 more than we were quoted and named reasons we had told the company on the phone, like that there were 2 staircases. It was very deceptive.

They charged us for repacking things we told them not to repack. For example, we had a box of cheap blankets and they insisted on repacking it because “it was company policy” then charged us more for the box than the blankets were worth. They didn’t take into consideration what we wanted and just followed policy, then charged out the wazoo.

I left one star because the quality of packing was decent, but not worth the cost unless your furniture is tens of thousands of dollars.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

We hired them recently for a move, and it was a smooth experience. They sent a 3-men crew, and the whole process was easy. They were careful with our furniture and belongings, they called 30-minutes before arrival, and did everything we requested without any fuss. The place we moved into had limitations of where moving trucks can be parked, so there was a bit of a walking distance from the truck to our place. These guys made the trek back and forth efficiently. They even managed to get our furniture in with short turns and corners in the hallway. They were also friendly and polite the whole time.

Worst moving experience ever. At day of pickup they raised the price over $1000 for the exact same items the original estimate was for. They knew we were stuck and had to move that day. Very dishonest and argumentative. We were told to either pay up or they would leave and good luck finding someone else to come the same day. Also very rough on our furniture, broke a very expensive mirror that they refused to replace and rolled a computer desk down the stairs and put a large hole in the wall. Do not use these movers!

Called safebound for a local Florida move. Talked to the estimator and even the owner and chose them based on price. I was quoted $1400 for the move. The move cost me over $4000. OK, I may have had more to pack and that’s why it took longer, but over three times the estimate, unacceptable. Strongly believe I got the estimate just to sign with them. When I told the estimator that I had an additional 30 boxes he said don’t worry and didn’t change the quote. Tried calling the owner after the move three times and he never returned my call. Customer service is awful. Beware! Strongly believe this was a case of bait and switch.

The movers broke a glass table while packing, then labeled almost every article as a Box with no descriptions even though every box was labeled. The movers loaded all my goods into the truck then departed, then when they arrived several days later than planned in DC my stuff was on a different truck. The price went from $3400 to $7400 without paying for the lost items. They also lost several valuable items and I had to work with another company called claimpros.org to settle my claim. This company offered me only $87 dollars to cover the $3,800 lost or damaged items. I had no option but to deal with csipros.org. Safebound moving and storage was no help even though I called them directly several times in January and February 2021 to see if they located my missing items. At the time of this writing (5/31/2021) I still haven't received a call from safebound in regards to my missing items.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7682

This moving experience was horrible. We moved from CT to NC and Safebound stored our furniture from Jan to Mar while we bought a house. My $2500 bicycle was lost or stolen along with the car bicycle rack. Never found. They knew it was on the list of items to be delivered and said they looked all over in the storage units, etc. but it was never found. Many articles were broken along with a large amythest geod from Brazil. Furniture was broken. Our settlement was $195. Be sure to read the fine print. Insurance is based on weight which is estimated. My bicycle was very light weight but costly. The people who packed us were part time hires and different from the people who delivered. They couldn't finish on the packing and delivery ends in one day so had to come back the next day with different crews each time. I cannot recommend Safebound.

I waited months for a paltry settlement which I don't have the energy to dispute. The little guy against the big guy. Who always wins?
