Long-distance move from Estero, FL to Durham, NC

It was our first time using movers and it helped out a lot

They were on time and ready to work. They moved quickly and efficiently and handled our stuff with care. They came with a 4-man crew. Most of the time was on the front end, since large furniture was wrapped up carefully and was taken down from the 3rd floor. And the load into the new place was super quick. It took about 3 hours total. They did a great job and would definitely use them again. But hopefully we will not have to move again for a while.

Unprofessional Movers Damaged Items and Damaged my brand new home

This review is for the owner of the company, Mr. [NAME EDIT]. The service that was render from your company's workers is below the standards of any moving company that I've ever dealt with. Your movers created damages to a new home that I purchased on June 14, 2021. The movers damaged walls, wooden door frames, new flooring, a car garage frame, a lot of my furniture was damage and various items. I have a bedroom set that the movers just apparently drug the sides and front ends of the armoire base on the ground. The base is destroyed. My wardrobe mirror was deliver broken and just placed in a corner with the bottom of frame on the floor of my car garage. The movers that delivered were unprofessional with their unloading of my boxes. They took no pride in placing the boxes in some kind of order. They threw large heavier boxes on top of smaller fragile boxes. Some furniture was assembled at all.

I'm unsure whether your movers have been trained properly or whether they just don't care about others personal items. I find that I'm very dissatisfied with the service I received and strongly believe that I should be reimburse some of my money for the items that I've loss. I paid your company more that what I was initially quoted and I was not given the service worth the money I paid the company. The service was very, very lousy.

This is a warning for anyone considering using Southbound Moving and Storage, please check the reviews with the BBB and other resources. I paid this company $12,675.00 to move me from Florida to Georgia to have my new house damaged, my California King Bedroom set damaged, and other furniture damage/broken. "SHAME ON ME". All I'm asking you to do is to "Please do your home work before considering this company". Please don't be ripped off like me.

I have on more thing to say to the owner of the business, I have placed to claims on your website twice and I haven't received and call back from your company as of this date. The business is unprofessional and it "SUCKS".

Terrible experience

Don't be fooled by the good reviews like we were. I helped me parents choose this company for their cross country move from Florida to Washington since they had high reviews across multiple sites. Everything seemed to be ok until the day they actually showed up to pack my parent's belongings. The amount they decided to charge was almost $3000 more than what they initially quoted. My parents had no choice but to pay it since they had already sold their house and needed to be out that week. Now that I've been reading further into their reviews it seems it's a common tactic they use to provide a low initial quote to get you to commit to them and then raise the price on the day of service.

After that, they held their belongings for almost 2 weeks with no notice of the delay. It wasn't until we called to follow up that they mentioned that they were holding their stuff in storage because they were waiting for delivery of other items that they planned to drop off on their way here. Again, it too multiple calls before they finally ended up sending their belongings. Melissa, the customer service rep was rude and unhelpful.

Thankfully, no issues came up once the truck was on it's way from Florida to Washington. The movers that actually came to deliver the belongings were awesome, very nice and efficient, the only commendable part of the whole move. Once we started unpacking we discovered that there's a large dent in the stainless steel fridge door and their tv has a huge crack in the screen and is no longer usable. My dad emailed them to notify them of the damage and has not heard anything back.

Working with this company turned into a nightmare in an already stressful time. They don't seem to care about anything other than taking your money. Please save yourself the headache and choose someone else. There's multiple reviews detailing very similar experiences to ours, believe them.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to West Palm Beach, FL

Disaster moving experience

Don’t make the same mistake. Our belongings were being moved from nyc to Florida. We were taken advantage of from every angle ending up with our belongings held hostage in Boston by a company we had never heard of ending up in Florida only after the Federal Motor Carrier SA got involved to end the hostage situation. Irreplaceable items arrived damaged/missing and destroyed. We were charge 30% more than quoted to get our items back. Safebound didn’t respond to our calls, emails or texts to help.

No matter what they tell you, promises, assurances, fancy trucks, storage, etc..

It’s all a scam. Do not believe their staff including Matthew, Patric etc.. and of corse the owner Philippe.

So many companies to hire. Trust me, DO NOT use this one. You can see proof of documents all posted on the BBB.

The worst moving service in Florida

I bought a house a month ago and I immediately received your advertisement. Since my previous moving service could not work on that date, I called them. I got their Spanish sales representative Jovanni and he offered to do it the day I needed it done. I was evaluating other companies, but he called me so many times, texted me so many times, assured me so many times that his service was the best and white glove that I accepted.

The first problem was that they changed the day of the move, when Jovanni had assured me that they would meet the date I needed, since I work and I can't miss it. I had to make a mess, and since they had already charged me over $500 I couldn't cancel the job.

The second was that the people who were working were late packing because they spent more time on Whastapp than working.

The third, they made me sign before delivering the things and charged me, and at the end of the move they told me that they broke the TV in the living room which did not allow me to stop the payment, but not only that, they broke a lot of things in my home. Starting with a 75 inch TV, several pieces of artwork, a laptop and other household items.

Fourth, they tell me that the insurance will pay for everything broken, and when I discover that their insurance, which nobody explained to me, only pays 0.60 cents per pound, that is, the TV that weighs 16 pounds and cost more than $1000 will pay me less than $10, the laptop that cost more than $2000 and weighs 800 grams, will pay me less than 0.6cts and so on, with all the things in my home.

And when you complain, after having chased you to make the contract with them, they are not able to answer an email and when they do, they make fun of you, and do not answer the calls.

My advice: never hire SAFEBOUND MOVING AND STORAGE is the worst moving service in Florida.

Long-distance move from Miami Beach, FL to New York, NY

TV smashed and asked me to pay for 2 of their parking tickets!

I had a long-distance move (which may be a different experience than a local move), but in sum: the customer service was painful, the move took a lot longer than I expected, my 65 inch TV ended up smashed/unworkable, and they asked me to pay for two of their parking tickets

Full story:

I sought moving quotes from South Florida to NY. Brightline moving called, and they gave me a great quote. I was in a good and trusting mood that day, so I booked it on the spot. They had a fair amount of positive google reviews, although the complaints on the BBB website were pretty scathing (https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/west-palm-beach/profile/moving-and-storage-companies/safebound-moving-storage-0633-90350582/complaints).

Closer to the date, I got a call from Safebound moving. They were handling the move. Supposedly Brightline (the broker) and Safebound (the mover) are affiliated companies, as their employees share the same office.

During the move day, they tried to charge me for a distance fee because the truck had to park a little further down the road. The foreman also told me that I was allotted 300 cubic feet and that my furniture/items were more than this. I found this hard to believe, given that I was shipping less than what I provided on the inventory list. I decided to leave some items behind (a desk, a chair, a mirror, a nightstand) so I wouldn’t have to pay that fee.

Once my furniture was in storage, it was impossible to find out when it was going to ship. I emailed/called numerous people from Brightline and Safebound, but no one could give me a clear answer. I spoke to one of the employees on the phone, and he told me he didn’t care about my frustration and that I was being a d*** .

My furniture ended up shipping 2 weeks later. They’re legally allowed to do this, which they liked to remind me on multiple occasions. It was supposed to arrive on a Thursday between 12-2, except the driver told me at 2 that they had an issue with the warehouse, so it would arrive the next day instead.

They arrived the next day. There was plenty of parking space available in front of the building, but they somehow ended up getting 2 parking tickets! They told me that it was my responsibility, but that I should fight the second one. They were in a rush to get out. When I unpacked the TV box, I noticed that the tv had completely cracked and was unworkable. I’m now filing an insurance claim.

I’m happy my furniture finally arrived. And the price was reasonable. But it was a very difficult experience.

Disaster

This move was a disaster from pick up to delivery.

The movers were supposed to arrive between 12:30 and 2 pm on Sunday June 26, 2022, after several calls providing new arrival times (3:30, 5:30,7:30) they arrived at 9:30 pm, the movers worked through the night finishing about 4am.

The workers wanted to know if I was going to follow them to the new house, even though the contract indicated the furnishings were to go into storage. They acted surprised and said they did not know that storage was part of the contract.

The final cost was almost 3 times the initial estimate! I understand that an estimate is just that, but for the cost to almost triple seems extreme to me, is this how you do business? The estimate shows that one month of storage and the labor to unload into , and reload from storage plus delivery was included, but the bill of lading shows $750 as a warehouse handling fee, and$423.06 for prorated storage.

As I unpacked I found more than 25 broken objects from floor lamps to pottery pieces.

I would never recommend this company.

I have contacted them through email and US mail with these concerns but have received NO response

Worst moving experience i can remember

TLDR - use another company.

Very professional sales experience with patrick who did a virtual walk through. Most communications were via text message which was convenient. The estimate for the white glove, full pack move was about 1000 ($2600) dollars more then just moving charges alone. We had a 700sqft 1 bedroom apartment and i told the company to come at 8am as the elevator was reserved for moving from 10-2. Dispatch called the night before to tell me that 3 movers would show up at 10am and not to worry as they would be able to pack the apartment a get us moved out by 2pm. Only 2 showed up ontime and 1 came an hour later in personal vehicle. They didn’t finish until 5:30 pm and didn't finish the offload until late. Real shock came when the bill was 3600 dollars with no warning. Charged over 1400 for supplies when estimate was 600 dollars. Used 10 dish boxes (30 dollars each) when we have service for 4 and 12 wine glasses. Was also charged for packing 2 x 41 inch TVs when we only had one tv packed and they used 8x wardrobe boxes for things such as a hockey bag, cat litter box, and exercise bench. When we had walkthrough i was asked about how clothes should be packed and told them to put them in medium boxes because it was a short distance move. We were charged 250 dollars for fuel for a 15 mile move which is insane. Conduct of the movers was extremely unprofessional as they were arguing and the foreman said to other workers that they have no idea how to pack boxes. Lastly, there was an issue with my zelle payment as chase flagged it as fraudulent. I received multiple harassing text messages from the foreman which i have attached to the review. All i wanted was to talk to someone at the company to work out inconsistencies regarding the estimate and charges. My girlfriend feels unsafe given that the movers know where we live. When i finally got on the phone with someone i notified them that anyone on our property in the future would trespassing so we can call the cops in the future if need be. Overall crazy experience.

Fail to conpensate you for damages

Safebound BROKE OR DAMAGED SEVERAL OF OUR THINGS in a simple move across town. After going through a long mediation and having to settle for a fraction of the value of our damaged stuff they have yet to send the check THEIR 3rd party mediator settled on.

The move was in June 2021. After discovering all the damaged pieces we reached out to them for compensation. After all, they would not unload any of our stuff at the new home until we paid them and they confirmed the money. That's when we discovered we should have bought additional damage coverage - which they never offered us probably to keep they compensation cost down.

So fast forward to September when we finally settled on an amount. The 3rd party mediator said SAFEBOUND would take it from there and send the settlement check soon. I have called and spoken several people at SAFEBOUND at least 6 times asking for the check. As of today 1/07/23, we have yet to see a dime from them. DON'T TRUST YOUR STUFF TO THEM. They will not pay for the things they damage! It cost us over $100 just to replace the glass shelves in our cabinet. Our settlement check would barely cover that expense, IF WE EVER SEE THE MONEY. Highly disappointed. DON'T HIRE SAFEBOUND!

Does not do the job right

This company will not do the job you pay them to do. If you’re thinking about using this company just look at the damage they have caused in the to many to count 1 star reviews. This company broke and straight up lost over $2,000 worth of my personal items. They were 6 hours late to pick up and I had to ask them to not slide furniture across my wood floors. I was told my $1,000 grill that was dropped would be fully replaced by the mover but when I spoke to the GM they said they would not honor that promise but would try. They then dragged out the promise of a replacement for 2 months and then offered me a small amount of money compared to what they broke or lost to not write negative reviews. Future customers deserve to know to stay away from this incompetent and dishonest company if you value your items.
