  Rainier was truly fantastic and assisted me in many ways! I am *TRULY* grateful for Rainier's generosity with my storage costs.  (And their extreme patience with me!)  This is really the kind of customer relations -- that goes above and beyond -- that you don't see these days.  I really appreciate Rainier's efforts to help their clients in the sometime difficult and unpredictable process of moving overseas -- I just can't thank them enough for this help with the storage issue/costs. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received from Rainier Overseas. I was extremely nervous about shipping my belongings overseas for my relocation to France, and I asked for advice on an expat forum. Someone recommended Rainier Overseas, whom I hadn't heard of at that point. I'm glad I went with them. Doug Wiviott was responsive, straightforward and always professional on the phone. The price was reasonable and he was more flexible than many of the other companies I spoke with. He was willing to find a reasonable price that worked with my budget and space needs (low-ish budget and around 100 cubic feet max). I didn't feel like he was trying to take advantage of me or talk me into something I didn't need. And he was able to work fast (I needed to be out within one week of deciding to use them!) I felt even more confident in my choice when his local partner in Massachusetts, Debra Ruf-Carson of New England Household and Moving (http://www.atlasagent.com/nehousehold/), came to my house to do the survey (after a snowstorm!). She was reliable, friendly, experienced, and put me at ease about the process. She kept in great touch via phone and email. She really listened to my needs and concerns and proposed flexible solutions that worked with my budget, ensuring I got the most for my money in terms of space and packing. For example, I wanted to do most of the packing myself, leaving only the really breakable items to her team, and I wanted one tailored container for my 100 cubic feet. She had a reinforced cardboard box/crate for 97 cubic feet (approximately) and was willing to make custom-made boxes for anything additional, which could be attached to the side of the main box. She also gave me packing boxes from her warehouse at no cost. Her entire team was great, from the guys who packed and picked up my stuff, to the man who worked miracles packing everything into the cardboard crate (She even let me go to the warehouse to meet him and see the crate for myself. It was a super thick cardboard, stronger than wood). Debra and Doug were also very helpful in walking me through the paperwork. On the Europe side, everything ran smoothly, too. I was satisfied with the communication wiht the local partner, and the shipment arrived must sooner than expected (only 50 days total from pickup to delivery) and in great shape. I wholeheartedly recommend Rainier and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I was moving from Pennsylvania to Germany and despite many phone calls and emails my moving goods are now sitting in the UK for more than one month after a transfer time of 93 days.  In addition, I was told at the time of shipping that the weight limit was not strict and I would not exceed anyway. In the end I was charged 1000 USD more than I was originally quoted. The sales person Peter Helgeson is not even bothering to answer my emails any longer.    Avoid this company at all cost, they are not sincere business people.    .

I used Rainier for a small household move from North Carolina to Istanbul, Turkey. This was the first time I had done an international relocation, and it was a very scary process. Rainier and their partners were incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions and helping me know what to expect along the way. We experienced very few troubles, but when we did, they were there to help us resolve it. I would highly recommend them and would rely on them again in the future. .

I would like to express my satisfaction for the services provided by Rainier Overseas and their partner Dijkshoorn Euromovers, who managed our international moving from the US to the Netherlands. My family was very happy with their job during all the process. We always received very prompt responses to our inquiries, and all the management was efficient and professional. Goods arrived overseas and were delivered within the expected timing. Dijkshoorn Euromovers were very helpful with Customs forms and clearance. We are happy to recommend this company for overseas relocations.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Rainier Overseas Movers to ship ~150 cubic feet of personal belongings from North Carolina to South Korea [This review site wouldn't allow me to input anything in mainland Asia as the destination, so I selected Australia as the delivery country]. Pick-up and delivery were on time, nothing was damaged in the process, and all communication and coordination with the various affiliates, subcontracters, customs, etc. went very smoothly. I received prompt, courteous service from my initial inquiry through post-delivery follow-up. I also felt that I was given a fair price, including insurance, especially compared to some of the other quotes I'd received.

I was moving from Seattle WA to Hong Kong.  I only needed a 200cuft lift van for my belongings.  In general, it was a relatively easy situation.
I choose Rainier Movers despite about costing me 10% more than other quotes I received. However, the experience, professionalism was well worth it.  The shipping agent was Mayflower and they were very accommodating to my schedule. The crew that came to do the packing very detail and efficient. They evaluated the situation allow the way and asked for my feedback through out. They were done in 2 hrs which was about 1 hr faster than I have expected. The recipient agent Beltran was also exceptional.  I received prompt communication and the crew was also very polite and efficient.  Overall, zero complaint.  It was well worth the extra 10% that I paid. .

Just a quick feedback concerning our recent move from Salt Lake City, USA, to Southampton, UK, coordinated by Rainier Overseas Movers. We got several quotes from different companies in advance, and it actually turned out that Rainier OM was quoting us one of the best prices. We were very happy with the overall communication with Rainier OM, especially David always replied immediately and answered any question or concern that we had. Packing at our home in Salt Lake City went fast and professional. The import to the UK and delivery to our home in Southampton took longer than expected (about three weeks after vessel arrival), but we were promptly informed about everything by Oliver from the local agent Eurogroup and communication went very smoothly with them. Our goods arrived in a perfect condition, even our set of rather fragile cocktail glasses made it to us without any damage. We were very pleased with that and would highly recommend you for oversea-moving.  .

From my initial contact with Rainier Overseas Movers until I decided to hire them as my movers the communications was excellent. Doug and his team provided me with a very accurate estimate based on the information I provided. The actual cost was even less than quoted. Doug also made sure to provide all the details of moving to Thailand and put me in touch with the local company (in Thailand) that would be handling the import of my goods. The team explained the customs procedures and any addition fees that may be included upon import. Once again these fees came out lower than quoted. My initial pick up was in June and I received the shipment in September. The delay was due to Thai customs requiring that I be in country prior to my good arriving to avoid excessive storage and duty fees. Doug worked with the dock personnel in Los Angeles to make sure my shipment did not leave port until I was ready to receive it in Thailand. The actual transport time from my home in Utah to Thailand would have been around 45 days had I not requested the delay. Doug and the Rainier team were very accommodating to my needs.
 
I received all of my property in the same condition as it left my home. I appreciate the care the packers from Sugarhouse Moving and Storage put into packing and bracing my shipment.

We were moving from the US to Australia and needed an overseas shipping company to move our household possessions.  After researching and talking to several companies, we decided to use Ranier.  They came in at a fair price and were very responsive to our inquiries, providing all the information needed in a timely manner.  Once it was time for the move, Ranier organized packing and pickup of our possessions exactly when we needed it.  It took 78 days from pickup to delivery, which was within the timeframe expected.  The process was pretty painless on our end.  We had a couple items that were damaged during the move, but had purchased additional insurance.  The claims process was quick and easy, allowing us to replace/repair the items in a reasonable timeframe.  Overall, we were quite satisfied with Ranier and would definitely recommend them.

I recently moved from Seattle, Washington to St Thomas in the USVI (not Puerto Rico, but the USVI wasn't an option in the review form!). Dave Wiviott was wonderful and not only answered all my questions, but was very patient with me and my nervousness. The subcontractors that packed my stuff in Seattle were great, friendly and professional, and did a terrific job. I had absolutely NO breakage. The crew on the St Thomas end also did a stellar job. They delivered and unpacked what was needed, put everything back together again and hauled away the mounds of packing papers. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave and Rainier Overseas Movers to anyone. Thanks guys!!

We recently moved from MA to Germany and used Rainier to coordinate that move. From start to finish, Rainier performed excellently, organizing local partners for packing and pickup, shipping, customs and delivery. Everything went smoothly, nothing was damaged and the goods arrived within a reasonable margin of the estimated time. I strongly recommend Rainier Overseas Movers, especially since Doug provides near-instantaneous feedback to all questions and is always highly professional.

We set up everything with Doug for a move to Chile and a couple of weeks before the packing/loading date, I was offered a job in Oxford, U.K. We decided that we should, instead, take this chance and move to England. Doug had to re-arrange everything because, , the 'ship going to the UK is not the same as the one going to Chile' :) and he did all these last minutes changes, always with extreme professionalism and in a good mood. The packing day came, and Don and his workers were fantastic. They packed the house in a couple of hours, they were professional and very pleasant to deal with. After this, more changes, we had to storage our goods, because we also had to pack an office a couple of months later, and then would have to ship all together. Again, excellent service, everything went to storage smoothly (charging us only a small fee) and, again, a couple of months later, Don and his workers were excellent when packing our office. Finally, everything left the US and we were so surprised to see that less than one month later our goods arrived to the UK! On this end, they took excellent care of the paperwork with customs and the delivery was great, in perfect condition, the guys unpacked everything, placed the furniture and cleaned it all. Another very good surprise was too see that the house and office boxes had been marked by your man with different colors, so we knew exactly what was for the house and what was for the office. This was so good. All in all, we were very fortunate to find Doug and his company and I can't recommend him enough, you will not find a better moving company anywhere.

We just finished shipping our belongings (approx 250 cubic feet of assorted boxes) from US to Sweden. Rainier Overseas Movers coordinated all parts of the transport from door-to-door. They kept us informed about all steps of the process and were responsive whenever we had questions. The movers were friendly and operated in an efficient manner on both continents. Furthermore, all of our belongings were in good shape upon arrival in Sweden. We will recommend Rainier to all friends thinking about transatlantic moves.

The move itself went really good. Apart from the slight delay at the border, which I know was out of your hands, I am really happy that I decided to bring all of my things via freight instead of re-purchasing them here. Solar Relocation was very professional on moving day and assembled everything properly. Nothing major was broken (maybe like 2 fragile decorations, which is no big deal and would happen with any move). All in all, very satisfied with my experience and I would recommend Rainier Overseas Movers to anyone I know looking to move abroad.

I used Rainier to move from Fort Collins, CO to Kristiansand, Norway. Rainier was great to work with and they used a local moving company that came to my home to make sure the household items would all fit in the container. The local moved provided excellent service and packed the container very well. When the container was delivered in Norway, a local Norwegian company unloaded the container. None of the items were damaged and there were no delays or problems along the way. Rainier explained the moving process well and delivered great service in every way.

Hi folks, a quick (maybe) review on my overseas movement of our household goods from Minot, ND to Leyte, Philippine. I spent allot of hours on the Internet looking a reviews and just general "what to do" type articles. I started the process in the Philippines while we were building our house. Those three companies I asked for quotes never got back to me. So when I got back to ND, those three didn't get a second chance. This time I chose Rainier Overseas Movers Inc, United Van Lines, and Mayflower. Rainier (David Wiviott) got back to me in less than 24 hours, United in 48 hours, and Mayflower never emailed me back but wanted to talk on the phone (which I almost never carry on me unless I'm outside the house). Rainier had their contact in Minot come out and did a site survey and sent the results back to Rainier and I got my quote back before United's representatives showed up for their survey. It took another week for United to come back with their quote which included a lot of add-on charges to be determined later. Rainier's quote was all inclusive with the normal exception of customs inspections at overseas port and any customs duties and taxes that had to be paid. I chose Rainier. The day before the actual loading day, the local movers arrived and pre-arraigned several boxes (I had already packed about 90% of my stuff.) On loading day, these guys were great. Loaded a 20ft ocean container in 4 hours. Of most important to us was a very large grandfather clock. They packed and loaded it so well that it survived the journey unscathed. In the Philippines, Rainier's agent had already gotten a hold of us, determined our entry status (duty/tax exempt), told us what they would need to get the clearance and kept us informed of the date of arrival. Basically, once I chose Rainier, all I had to worry about was personal travel. Their exceptional contact agents worked their magic and my stuff was delivered undamaged. I was particularly worried about customs in the Philippines, but Rainier's agent (Goetz Moving) handled the entire customs maze. If you’re moving overseas I would not give Rainier a second thought, I would use them again in a heartbeat. And oh BTW: as a retired military, I've moved overseas 5 times. This was the smoothest and worry free.

To be honest, I'm trying to think of something negative but the truth is that everything went like clockwork and we couldn't ask for more. The local packers and loaders in North Carolina were amazing, hard-working, very diligent and although we weren't convinced everything was going to fit into the 20ft container, they did manage it.. just! The delivery from Norfolk, VA to Limassol, Cyprus was exactly as scheduled (I didn't realise there are now many apps which will track ships progress and locations which is useful). The delivery/unloading agents here were also excellent and although we still have a few boxes to go, everything is in great condition due in no small part to the diligence of the packers. Communication throughout with Doug and Rick at Ranier as well as the contacts either end was quick and easy. Although not the cheapest, they also weren't the most expensive so all in all, it was a five star experience.

We recently completed our move from Boston to Brisbane, Australia using Rainier Overseas. Before selecting Rainier, we did a tremendous amount of research, from reviews to quotes, looking for the right balance between price and service. We were impressed with Rainier's reviews. And while there were other companies with slightly cheaper quotes, we felt like Mark Lawson was being straight with us-- something the others lacked. Mark's quote was from door-to-door, while others would do door-to-port, or exclude various costs from their quotes, etc. From the moment we made the selection, Mark was very quick to respond to any questions, always professional and helpful. Our shipment took one week longer to arrive than projected, but certainly within the range Mark had provided. There were no surprise fees, and they honored the quotes we discussed. From a service standpoint, the moving crews on both ends were excellent. They carefully packed all of our furniture, glassware, etc. and we were pleased that nothing was damaged upon delivery. There is no question that if I were to do everything over again, I would select Rainier again. Very impressed!

A huge thank you to Mark Lawson and his team for making my move back to the UK a smooth and efficient event. I was completely supported by Mark who kept me informed and updated on a regular basis. The team (Mayflower) who packed my belongings were completely trustworthy and took great care of my special items. They arrived on time and worked hard throughout checking in with me as needed. Once the shipment was in the UK, I was notified and able to arrange a mutually agreeable delivery date following customs clearance. The delivery team (Britannia) again worked very hard taking special care of fragile items and reassembling my bed, they effortlessly managed the few items of furniture and bulky boxes while retaining a good sense of humour on an unusually very hot day. I fully recommend Rainier to anyone who is planning an international move.
