Rainier Overseas Movers

Just a quick feedback concerning our recent move from Salt Lake City, USA, to Southampton, UK, coordinated by Rainier Overseas Movers. We got several quotes from different companies in advance, and it actually turned out that Rainier OM was quoting us one of the best prices. We were very happy with the overall communication with Rainier OM, especially David always replied immediately and answered any question or concern that we had. Packing at our home in Salt Lake City went fast and professional. The import to the UK and delivery to our home in Southampton took longer than expected (about three weeks after vessel arrival), but we were promptly informed about everything by Oliver from the local agent Eurogroup and communication went very smoothly with them. Our goods arrived in a perfect condition, even our set of rather fragile cocktail glasses made it to us without any damage. We were very pleased with that and would highly recommend you for oversea-moving.  .

From my initial contact with Rainier Overseas Movers until I decided to hire them as my movers the communications was excellent. Doug and his team provided me with a very accurate estimate based on the information I provided. The actual cost was even less than quoted. Doug also made sure to provide all the details of moving to Thailand and put me in touch with the local company (in Thailand) that would be handling the import of my goods. The team explained the customs procedures and any addition fees that may be included upon import. Once again these fees came out lower than quoted. My initial pick up was in June and I received the shipment in September. The delay was due to Thai customs requiring that I be in country prior to my good arriving to avoid excessive storage and duty fees. Doug worked with the dock personnel in Los Angeles to make sure my shipment did not leave port until I was ready to receive it in Thailand. The actual transport time from my home in Utah to Thailand would have been around 45 days had I not requested the delay. Doug and the Rainier team were very accommodating to my needs.
 
I received all of my property in the same condition as it left my home. I appreciate the care the packers from Sugarhouse Moving and Storage put into packing and bracing my shipment.

We were moving from the US to Australia and needed an overseas shipping company to move our household possessions.  After researching and talking to several companies, we decided to use Ranier.  They came in at a fair price and were very responsive to our inquiries, providing all the information needed in a timely manner.  Once it was time for the move, Ranier organized packing and pickup of our possessions exactly when we needed it.  It took 78 days from pickup to delivery, which was within the timeframe expected.  The process was pretty painless on our end.  We had a couple items that were damaged during the move, but had purchased additional insurance.  The claims process was quick and easy, allowing us to replace/repair the items in a reasonable timeframe.  Overall, we were quite satisfied with Ranier and would definitely recommend them.

I worked with Rainier and Gentle Giant to move my worldly goods from PA to France. Gentle Giant did the actual packing and loading of the container from my home in PA and Rainier did all the actual container shipping and coordination to get everything to France. Both parties were excellent. I worked with Doug Wiviott at Ranier and he knows the process backwards and was extremely helpful with all the paperwork, getting us a preliminary quote, organizing a survey, explaining the process, working with our tight dates, and staying in contact throughout the process. Ranier do not use their own crews for packing/loading and delivery/unpacking so it is very important you know who they are going to use at each end and check out the quality of these companies but the crew Ranier work with in the Philly area were excellent. They packed our goods in the container very efficiently so nothing could shift and to minimize space and costs. Almost everything arrived in good shape. Our goods included a baby-grand piano that required special handling and crating and the woodwork did get some minor damage during the move (grand pianos are incredibly heavy and an absolute bear to move even with 3 or 4 strong men and a little damage is hard to avoid) but the Ranier's insurance company was easy to deal with and paid for the repair quickly with no hassle. Overall I had a very good experience working with Doug and Ranier.

Moved from Baltimore to South of France without any issue. Everything was ready and taken care of in less than a week. They came and picked up my equipment from my laboratory (in the middle of nowhere) without any incident. The people were very courteous and professional. The customs' clearance was a breather, and they accompanied me every step of the way with no hidden fees. Great experience all around. I strongly recommend this company to anyone moving internationally or nationally.

The move went really smooth and nice. No issues at all and arrival time was as expected. We got luck and no delays at customs and we got our goods in less than three month from departure. Moving company in Australia with friendly staff and they attended well all our needs. In Dallas we just found that personnel don't have much of an idea of the requirements at customs in Australia so we just boxed some stuff with real uncertainty that would pass or cause trouble but no issues at the end.

We will definitely will get in touch again if a new overseas move is needed.

Just had a great move from downtown Seattle to Hawaii. This was my 14th move. Ranier did a great job estimating and planning the pickup, packed perfectly. They took one day to pack and one to move into the truck - I initially thought that was more than needed but they worked efficiently both days and getting things out of the apartment was more tedious than I'd thought. A great pack - NO items lost or broken!. Transit and storage at destination happened exactly as estimated and and delivery was exactly as planned as well. Unhesitatingly recommend Ranier.

I have used Rainier moving on two different occasions to move personal goods from California (Oakland and San Diego) to Canberra Australia. On both occasions, the move went very smoothly on both ends. Rainier is very prompt and keeps in good communication so the last minute details of the move can be arranged and you know where your stuff is and the estimated dates for arrival and customs etc at all times. I never had any trouble getting a hold of Rainier right away, even in the time between Christmas and New Year’s which is when both moves occurred in different years. I would definitely use Rainier for all my overseas moves!

The whole process from start to finish was exceptional. We are very satisfied with all aspects of our experience from the quote, communication, pick up and delivery to the re-routing of our goods etc. We felt like our belongings were being taken care of personally and not just another sale in their income stats. Our belongings were all delivered, intact, no damage, clean, and had to have been handled carefully by how the boxes looked like they did when we packed them. We were very impressed and would use them again if we move in the future. We were very nervous about the whole international moving process when we started looking for a moving company because of poor reviews and bad communication with other companies just in the quote stage, but Rainer exceeded our expectations from the start. Even though the delivery took a little longer than we first anticipated it worked out great for us because we moved twice in the time between our belongings arriving so it was much better that we didn't have to move everything twice. We were kept informed along the way of the progress of our delivery and they re-routed our delivery to the new address without any difficulty.

My husband and I were relocating with our young children internationally. It is a natural stressful time. We hired Rainier and everything from start to finish was effortless - great communication (felt comfortable with the process, asked a lot of questions which were answered promptly), professional movers both where we packed up from and where our items were delivered. It was completely full service and all our contents of our home were delivered safely and without damage. Amazing - highly recommended!

I'd recommend Rainieros to any friend. I basically only have kind words towards their service. They made my moving easy and with an affordable price. It was great to have a good choice of dates for the moving date, the actual movers that worked that day were trully professional and kind, and the ones that came home to bring all the stuff were again really efficient, quick and caring with all the boxes, etc. It was awesome to have all the paperwork being cared by them. And it was a moving from Baltimore US to a small village in Catalonia, Spain.

some damages, but moving internationally, going through quarantine, etc, can you expect 0 damages? I don't think so. You are lucky if you get 0. 20 ft shipping container.

Moving can be a stressful experiences and we thus have
put lots of weight into selecting an efficient and reputable moving company for
our most recent, fifth international move (CA-Europe). By comparing a dozen international
movers, we decided to get in business with Rainier Overseas Movers as the publicly
posted reviews as well as member comments in several expat forums suggested
excellent services at competitive costs. Today, some weeks after the
relocation, we very much can agree to this.

Everything came together seamlessly. Starting with the
in-house survey by their local partner/ subcontractor in California, in our
case a company called “Moving Star” we felt to be in good hands (Avner and Jill
from Moving Star always worked an extra mile to get our things done well!). They
provided us with plenty of useful information concerning our move abroad and they
offered us various options to choose from. All of our questions were answered swiftly
before or during the move either by Moving Star or by Rainier directly. During
the whole time, David Wiviott, international relocation manager at Rainier
Overseas, was always courteous to us handling our issues with care, sensibility
and quality, and he was exceeding our expectations of good customer service by
far. Packing and picking up our household items (and storing them in a
warehouse for some weeks before shipping overseas) was done by a professional and
friendly team. From an overall operations standpoint, everything went smoothly
and our household goods arrived at destination in the given window. In the
interim, there were some additional costs, which came up unexpectedly to
everyone. However, they were all absorbed by Rainier in order to truthfully keep
their initial quote. A couple of items were missing or damaged despite best
intentions and care taken to prevent, but this is not unusual if moving a 3 BR
2 bath household a few thousand miles, we guess. The claims process was pretty
simple and without much work on our side.

In conclusion, after the experience of five major
relocations now, we are more than satisfied with Rainier Overseas. They are a
team of knowledgeable, experienced, helpful, and responsible professionals from
top to bottom. We also think it is hard to beat Rainier in terms of customer
service and pricing (I cannot recall the total costs, hence the $1 below, but it was VERY competitive). Our overall impression was very positive. When we will
move next time and can choose Rainier again (at our current location), we would
definitively do so. We can certainly recommend them to anyone else.

I've never written a review before but felt I needed to this time. Moving to another country is stressful enough without having to worry about all of your belongings getting to you. BUT, Rainier was excellent. From step 1 to final delivery, they were nothing but professional. All of our things arrived..in tact, which I have to say was a surprise from previous experiences with other companies. If I ever have to move again, they'll be my first call. Thank you!

We just finished shipping our belongings (approx 250 cubic feet of assorted boxes) from US to Sweden. Rainier Overseas Movers coordinated all parts of the transport from door-to-door. They kept us informed about all steps of the process and were responsive whenever we had questions. The movers were friendly and operated in an efficient manner on both continents. Furthermore, all of our belongings were in good shape upon arrival in Sweden. We will recommend Rainier to all friends thinking about transatlantic moves.

We hired Rainier Overseas Movers to transport our entire Household from Iowa to Rome, Italy. We dealt with Doug Wiviott who kept us informed from the day the shipment was picked up until the day it arrived in Naples. He readily answered all our questions and made helped us navigate the Italian customs laws. His assistance was invaluable in getting the property into the country and then transported by truck to Rome. The property arrived in the same condition it was when it was picked up. Nothing was missing.
We would highly recommend Rainier to anyone needing an honest and competent moving company.

Rainier Overseas Movers, Inc.My husband and I are so happy with the outcome we had with Rainier Overseas! We want others to benefit from their service, as moving is one of the biggest challenges, and the most stressful, in life, and guess what? We didn't just move locally, we moved far far away, all the way from Fortworth, Texas to Melbourne, Australia!! This was a massive relocation for us.This was the first time we shipped our personal belongings from shore to shore, and I must admit, it was very scary. We spent hours googling and researching, almost getting caught to scammers, because we wanted to keep the costs down as well as get the most reliable shipper. When we asked him to pick Armstrong for our movers, he obliged us and worked with us. He gave us the most competitive rate, and took the pressure off us all the way through. The move itself went really good. Apart from the slight delay at the border, which I know was out of your hands, I am really happy that I decided to bring all of my things via freight instead of re-purchasing them here. Solar Relocation was very professional on moving day and assembled everything properly. Nothing major was broken (maybe like 2 fragile decorations, which is no big deal and would happen with any move). All in all, very satisfied with my experience and I would recommend Rainier Overseas Movers to anyone I know looking to move abroad.

I used Rainier to move from Fort Collins, CO to Kristiansand, Norway. Rainier was great to work with and they used a local moving company that came to my home to make sure the household items would all fit in the container. The local moved provided excellent service and packed the container very well. When the container was delivered in Norway, a local Norwegian company unloaded the container. None of the items were damaged and there were no delays or problems along the way. Rainier explained the moving process well and delivered great service in every way.

I recently moved from New York City to Barcelona in Spain with Rainier. Everything went very smoothly and I would highly recommend this company for overseas move. We moved a 3-bedroom apartment and used a whole 20-ft container. The moving teams in New York (Best Guy) and Barcelona (Inter S&R) were very nice, efficient and careful. Nothing was damaged during the move. All the administrative process also went very smoothly thanks to the people at Rainier. The move was also cheaper with Rainier than with other companies, yet the quality of service was first rate. They were also very responsive to my frequent emails and questions. Overall, an excellent experience. Great job!
