PSS International Removals

They don't take care with your goods, no bubble wrap or any extra paddings - just paper. They had wrap my only glass with paper, so it arrived in pieces. How to protect a glass only with paper?!!
One cupboard, which I have for only 18 months, they put all in a box without any protection between the parts, so one part broke the other, arrived with cracks/role in all parts.
I contact them and they didn't help, I sent pictures, explained what happened, as that was their problem with how they had package. they said that I didn't do an insure for both items with problem.
I sent a "house" how I will insure everything.
After some emails, they said that they can pay me 60 pounds for both items, but the claim fee will be 100 pounds. Seriously?
And the worst is: its clear that this is their problem, their fault in the moment of the packing. Terrible.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £2800

I have never experienced such poor customer service. I had problems organizing a time to pick up my boxes in London and so they arrived at 8AM unannounced while I was out. They then tried to charge me additional fees to return to collect the boxes. I spoke to one of the rudest men I have ever come across at PSS who refused to put me through to his manager and did everything to make this process as distressing as possible. As if moving 1000s of miles isn't stressful enough. Eventually when I did get through to the manager (after 20 minutes of arguing with this man) they agreed to come back that day and collect the boxes. Boxes arrived in Canada 6 weeks after I expected them to arrive and 12 weeks after PSS picked them up. Communication was poor throughout this whole delay and I was never told where my possessions were, whether they had left the UK and when they were due to arrive. I ended up having to replace most of my belongings so now I don't even need my boxes! They out source pretty much every part of their service and so you never know who to contact when things go wrong (which they did at every part of the delivery). Finally my boxes were delivered today, well almost, they are sat in the lobby of my building as the  courier refuses to bring them up the stairs. Luckily the contact in Canada is a lovely lady who is doing everything she can to remedy the situation. I can only advise not to use this company under any circumstances. I had many friends moving at the same time as I did and they have all received the same terrible service. I will never use or recommend this company every again!

We have recently used PSS to handle our international move from Edinburgh to Johannesburg. Unfortunately they arrived late and did a very rushed job to get our flat packed up.  Fragile items were not protected by tissue paper / bubble wrapping / or foam balls to minimise friction, movement or damage. Our picture frames and paintings were not protected. fragile items were placed in boxes unprotected alongside tools and kids bicycles and as a result were damaged.  PSS's response was poor, basically stating we should have insured against their incompetence.  Their website states they take care with packing your items.  This is clearly false advertising.  .

It has all been a bit frantic the last few days and so I just wanted to pass on my first hand experience of moving with PSS.
The PSS surveyor was excellent, spent a lot of time going through everything so that we were pretty confident about what we could and couldn’t take. That made it easy for us to prepare well beforehand. What can I say about the packing team? They arrived at my door Wednesday, and all my worries and stress just fell away. I’d not slept the night before!  They hit just the right amount of humour to make the two days a really pleasurable experience. Not only that, but we never heard any swearing, they were always very polite and did they work! We were amazed at the speed at which they got things done. They always checked if they weren’t sure whether to pack something and helpfully unpacked something which I didn’t want to go. My fault! Nothing was too much trouble. They were a real pleasure to have around and we were sorry to see them go, although that meant they had done the job! We were also very admiring of their skills in packing the container. So all in all, many thanks! We look forward to collecting it all at the other end and hopefully our house will be near completion by the time we get to NZ. I believe we can arrange storage if necessary when we get there which is a great weight off our minds.

We would just like to pass on our experiences of using PSS. The team of Neil, John, Steve and Barry made the whole packing and shipping process easy. We shipped the full contents of our house plus our car and motorbike and the boys from PSS made it look effortless.   I cannot speak highly of the guys as they were an absolutely fabulous team and wish they could be in Perth to unpack us (maybe too much to ask..).   From start to finish they were professional, courteous and speedy and took the stress out of the UK side of the move.    They managed to have us packed in record time and watching them work was very enjoyable (in a good way!).   Thanks must also go to the estimator and our account manager who were absolutely spot on with their quote as there was barely room to fit 2 empty boxes before the container doors were sealed - perfect result!   Let us hope the Perth team are equally efficient.   Val & Jono.

I have been going to get in touch for a couple of months.
I would just like to say how impressed I have been with every part of the procedure and how professionally everything was managed.
All the staff in the UK and here in Christchurch were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. I was amazed when unpacking some of the more delicate items that they had reached their destination intact and looked as though you had achieved 100% , when unpacking a further box found the glass shade to one of my table lamps to be broken.
When I think of what might have been damaged 99% is still excellent!I don't think I will be moving again, but who knows what life has in store for us. If I do, PSS would certainly be the company I would choose and would have no reservations in recommending the company to friends and family.

I've outlined below why you should never use PSS International Removals.
Surveyor miscalculated the shipment size.  PSS Surveyor came to the house and estimated a 1/2 container with a possible spill-over of 11 cuft.  The spill-over actually resulted in 120cuft.  I was then charged an outrages rate that was an additional 40% of the original quote!!  When I complained, they did an investigation that did not include speaking with me directly.  Their claim was that I added a tool box, wood burning stove (the size of tool box) and two chest of drawers.  They also ignored several request, to the packers, for me to break down some of the furniture (they would not do it).  Those additions were nowhere near the an addtional 100 cuft.   As they had my stuff, I had to pay with no recourse. 
Adding insult to injury, I just rec'd another bill for approx. $200 for another fee by their agent!
I found they gave a very aggressive price quote to win the business at approximately £5000, only to hit me, after the fact, with another £1900 in over-spill and another $200 for delivery charges for their agent.
Additionally, I found the PSS customer service and professionalism to be shockingly bad.  They have written their contracts so they are not accountable or responsible for any mistakes or incompetencies on their part.
I could not possible be more angry or frustrated with the behaviour of the PSS International organisation.

I just wanted to pass on my experiences of moving with PSS. I have to say that starting the whole moving process with a 2 year old and 4year old was tough, but I have to say that everyone from PSS and the currency providers they recommended have been so helpful and couldn't be happier. I read so many mixed reviews about so many companies involved in moving people and families, so I feel pretty lucky to have got this right so far. It seems like a lottery when trying to choose especially when you read some horror stories. However as my Mother said to my husband and I, keep an open mind as their is always two sides of every story and go with your gut instinct. Thankfully I did because the PSS men Andy and Chris that came to pack up just couldn't have been kinder, they wrapped everything so carefully and packed my husbands model boats very well and better than when he bought them. The only negative I could say about them would be the fact that thy packed some baby clothes that I was trying to sell on eBay before I left, but I suppose I can't blame them 100% when we were moving so many things. We also took advantage of their free airfreight carton which was great and we made I have a saving as my Husband is due to start work a few days when we arrive. We have had our invoice in from them I and amazingly the contents of our move has gone down, so the invoice amount is less which pleased my husband. Great company and I would recommend them to anyone. We dealt with James and Keith in the office who were fab.

Well my second journey into using PSS and I can wholeheartedly say do not use them     At a seminar in Birmigham they attended they told me I had to pay Duty on my caravan when in fact its free duty on it because owned more than 12 months and its a non motorized trailer. We are now at the point of moving but I thought I will  see what price they quote despite the above. My wife said anyone can make a mistake  so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and telephoned for a quote.  I was asked how many boxes I would be taking I replied depend on the size of the box   The lady then replied well about the size of a large suitcase I asked what size a large suitcase was and was given the reply well if you look what Argos sell.  Then we mentioned the caravan again and I was put through to someone else  what I joked with about the ms information at the Birmingham show. He informed me I was quite correct.  However words then fail me he tells me the caravan is to big for a container   Two other companies will be happy to put it in the container but he says no    Why well it wont fit through the doors he tells me I ask how do you know he says well I have the sizes on the internet   Funny I remark as it came into the country in a container   Ahh yes the dopey devil at PSS has forgot you take the aerial off  to lower the height by 6 inches  ahhhhhh  Use someone else folks they didn't seem to know what they talking about .
