Move from OK to the Coast

Moved from the Okanagan to Maple Ridge. The movers were friendly and worked hard. They were respectful to me and to each other. Smon and Chad were prompt and communicated with ETAs throughout the trip. Care was taken with all items . They even attached my bed to the frame. Thank you Simon and Chad and Paton for a making a hard move easier! Well Done.!

Long-distance move from Salmon Arm, BC to Airdrie, AB

Wonderful experience BC to AB

My husband and I were pleased to meet Dennis and giving us a quote in person. On the day of the move Simon and Chad were on time, professional, polite and very respectful to us and our belongings. They worked very hard all day. Simon's attention to details and communication were top notch during the whole process.

Local move from Peachland, BC to Langley, BC

Moving with Points West; Peachland to Langley

Though reasonably priced and on time for packing, was very disappointed in the crew sent to pack our belongings. Crew damaged the house when moving things out and did not carefully wrap antique furniture for transport and thus damaged in the move. Though our goods were insured – no mention of a $5,000 deductible – till after we tried to claim for insurance repairs!

Won’t be using Points West again…

Terrible moving company

We have moved through transfers approximately 17 times. We have never dealt with such an unprofessional moving company. We used this company out of desperation. All the well known and companies were not available for our dates. The rate was cheap and they say you get what you pay for. Not the case in this situation. We didn`t even get what we paid for. The owner/manager Dennis appraised the move and gave us a quote. I had read the reviews and was nervous about even using the company but Dennis and his helper Jeff assured me it would be a good and seamless experience.

Trailer supplied was 48 feet not 53 feet as required for a 24,000 lbs move.

Left approximately $2,000 worth of items behind. No room in trailer.

2 recently purchased portable A/C units. $385. Per unit. 2 dog kennels. Have had to purchase one at our new location. $120.00. Garage storage shelving. $500. Value. Rolls of clear and black plastic. $250 roll of ground cover.

Left 3 propane tanks and 3 gas containers. We were bringing them in our rented trailer but mover required 80% that room for items they couldn`t fit in moving trailer.

Boxes packed too heavy. Need hand cart to move them around. Filled garment boxes with heavy shop tools instead of 2 cube boxes.

50% of the boxes were not marked to show contents. Brought this to the attention of the packer and he told me why is that a problem. You have to open them all when you unpack anyway.

Legs missing for patio furniture table. Taken apart by movers at top of our driveway. Either left in packing blankets or left on street where the table was taken apart. Patio furniture is now incomplete.

Lost special pin that holds basketball stand together.

Hole punctured through from back of framed painted. This was packed by the company owner.

2 remotes missing for master bedroom TV system. Remote for sound bar with cables and wiring. I disassembled unit and put all components together so this wouldn`t happen. Have sound bar remote but main T.V. and cable box remotes missing. Could be in garage unmarked box that we haven`t unpacked yet.

Broke cast iron leg off garden bench.

Called and left a message the day our belongings were being delivered. No one called back. Jeff`s voice on recording. Made a list of issues to be given to Dennis. Never heard back.

Have called Simon (driver) at least 5 times and left messages. Wanting to know if they found the missing pieces for our patio furniture when the folded the moving blankets. No call back.

Brought deck umbrella`s but left bases and pole extensions.

Left their personal garbage all over the place. Food containers and partially consumed drinks.

Wonderful to have 8 or more people packing but no way we could make sure they were packing or leaving items upon our request. Tell one person but he didn`t convey to other workers.

They had to stop before delivering our contents to fix 3 flat tires on their trailer.

I have since sent an email to Dennis listing all the issues we had and asked him to call me. He emailed response:

Please refer to item 11 on the reverse of your bill of lading. All claims must be made within 7 days after delivery.

I made a claim before the packers had even left the property the day they made the delivery.

There is no recourse with a company like this. I can only hope that people do see this review and have an alternate mover to hire.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Moved from Blind Bay to Coaldale

This was our worst move ever. Dennis seemed trustworthy & reliable but proved he was not. We were quoted $9,000.00 but the bill was $1,000.00 more when the semi arrived at our new home. Jeff reduced this amount by $500.00 so we were only cheated out of $500.00! The driver told us this happens all the time. They were 2 days late as Dennis forgot to book the delivery. Our goods were stored in the trailer for 6 weeks. The trailer leaked so there was a lot of water damage, along with a dead mouse & mould. We made a reasonable claim for all the damaged furniture, 14 days after the move but were denied as apparently you only have 7 days to do this. It was impossible for us to meet this time line because the boxes were all wet & we had to clean most items as they were unpacked. We were also never told that there was a $5,000.00 deductible. We are extremely disappointed int he whole process.

Long-distance move from Kelowna, BC to Edmonton, AB

Excellent experience

I have moved many times in my life time and with many different companies. I had a quote from Points West Moving for my move from Kelowna to Edmonton. I checked out reviews for Points West Moving and contacted them regarding some bad reviews. Two of the reviews I mentioned were not even customers of Points West Moving. I was satisfied after talking to Dennis and used them as my mover. Of all my experiences moving, Points West was by far my best move. They were courteous and professional. The truck and crew arrived on time on loading and delivery days. My furniture was padded and shrink wrapped and I did not have one problem with any kind of breakage or damage.

I would recommend Points West Moving to anyone who is planning their upcoming move.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Points West Moving- Kelowna deserves a rating of -10

Dennis Gregorie (manager/owner) does not stand by what he says and promises.

There were 3 movers that showed up to move a 3 bedroom house. Movers left personal garbage all over the house and garage, my husband and I had to dispose of it.The movers are extremely careless with our belongings. They broke 3 items of furniture and didn’t say anything , we brought it up and Simon was not interested to do anything about it.

The truck that Dennis sent was not able to take all of our belongings despite the fact that this move cost us an extra 1,600 to rent U-Haul and take all garage and outside items because they refused to move them with our household.

When I phoned Dennis to tell him that this is unexceptable, we needed all of our items to go to Alberta, he told me to “get over it” , hung up on me and blocked my number.

If you value your hard earned money and belongings DO NOT HIRE POINTS WEST MOVING.

Long-distance move from Kamloops, BC to Calgary, AB

Excellent Customer service

We moved from Kamloops, BC to Calgary, AB and used Points West Moving for a complex move with delicate antiques.

This company went WAY above and beyond in easing our stress, accommodating our time line in a hectic time of the year and making sure we did not have to worry about our possessions.

Our packing date was Dec 4th, 2023 and a crew of 5 packers showed up at 9:00am sharp.

The packing was completed by 3:00pm the same day!

The loading was done the next day on Dec 5th. 4 employees showed up and was completed in a timely manner.

Points West Moving was also able to deliver our goods on Dec 7th right on time in Calgary. They also supplied 4 employees on this day.

From the packing to the loading in Kamloops and the delivery in Calgary, Points West Moving office staff, packers, and the driver and his crews were exceptional.

Thanks for the excellent customer service and quality.

Long-distance move from West Kelowna, BC to Calgary, AB

Not a good moving experience from West Kelowna to Calgary

While Dennis was very nice, our total moving experience was not good. The packers seemed inexperience as items were poorly packed in poorly labeled or not labelled boxes. One bathroom closet was completely missed as well as other items left behind. Several items broken, hardwood floor scratched as witnessed by driver. Arrival in Calgary was late (elevator booked for 4 hours) and only 3 men to unload. One was very rude to other condo owners wanting to use elevator and the other smelled strongly of alcohol. We tried to claim for damage but were told we had only one week to submit a claim, and company not responsible if they did not unpack! We wanted to support a local company but cannot recommend this company. Suggest reading the fine print before hiring these people. They are overpriced for the service we received

rlght up there with the best of my experiences.
