Long-distance move from San Ramon, CA to Issaquah, WA

They are fraud so stay away from them.

I wish I had read some of the other reviews for this terrible moving company before , I would have stayed away from them. I was moving from bay area to seattle around 4th july and they sold me the move. Scott sweet talked me into this. God knows how many times I had to call them to get someone to pickup my stuff. They kept changing the pickup dates saying they are busy. Why do they have to sell the moves when they don't have capacity to handle it ? Anyway finally after multiple days 2 kids showed up at 11.30 pm with a big budget truck. Later someone named sam showed up who supposedly is their best driver. They started loading the stuff and I could see they they had no experience whatsoever of handling cargo or loading. They even dropped my tv and won't even admit it even though it happened in front of me. They managed to finished loading at 2.30 am somehow. Now comes the fun part. After loading they doubled the estimate. My load was around 400cf and they were charging me for 800cf. Sam kept arguing that my stuff is worth 800cf which was not possible as I had staged the stuff and measured it already. Then he called Jim who manages the moves. Another terribly rude guy. He started threatening me and said either pay for 800cf or get the stuff off the truck. Dealing with this at 3 am when same day your travel is planned is not fun.

I ended up getting my stuff off their truck with the help of friend and neighbor. Now I feel lucky reading other reviews. I rented 750cf capacity truck myslf and after loading all my stuff still had half the truck empty.

They won't refund my deposit. I am searching for my options to take legal action against them as they are running a fraudulent business. I don't think the two kids who showed up with truck were in legal age to drive a truck. Also which moving company shows up during midnight to pickup stuff.

I don't want any other customer to go through what I have gone through.

Stay away from them.

Moving Quality.

I am recommending Pacific Coast Moving to everyone I know! Booking was a breeze. Scott was great to work with. The online portal was super easy to use and gave me confidence in their professionalism. I originally scheduled an afternoon time, but a week later I called asking if they could bump me up to the morning. They weren't able to accommodate at that time, but must have made note of my request and called me the next day to tell me they were able to do it! I was so surprised that they called back - even when I didn't explicitly ask them to keep me in mind for the earlier time. Whitney from customer service called me back and got me the morning pick up.

Tim and his team were right on time! Not only that, but they were hustling! They were so efficient moving everything- this definitely was their first rodeo.. Everything was taken good care of, and they had great attitudes, I even had a tricky california king bed- the last movers I hired (not these guys) to move me in to this place spent a good part of an hour trying to get it through a small doorway, complaining and trying to convince me to leave it in the bedroom so they wouldn't have to move it; my wife had to take the trim and door off for them. But, when Tim and his guys got to the bed, they saw it wouldn't fit through the door right away, sized it up, immediately pulled out their tools, took the door off, slid it right through, and replaced the door with no issues, in minutes! Seriously these guys know what they're doing. They took apart all of my desks and tables for me as well, keeping track of all the hardware and putting it back together during unloading.

The unloading process at the new place in Texas was just as quick and easy- they even moved a desk up the stairs then back down after I got confused about where I wanted it- with no complaints and all smiles. My delivery guy was Edwin. He was awesome.

At the end- a VERY REASONABLE bill! No surprise fees or anything like that. Seriously, Everyone needs to use them!!

Overcharge And Not Show up on Time!!

If I could give no stars, I would. Be careful about booking with them! James Horky is their Assistant Manager of Operations. He will hang up on you, belittle you, tell you he doesn’t have time for you because he is too busy and not provide information. It’s as if your items are being held, hostage. I was promised a date and time to get my belongings, and he never had the courtesy to call and say it wouldn’t be there. He blatantly lied, I called the day before to confirm my things would be there the next day and he said yea they would. When I called the day it was supposed to come; he said the truck never left the warehouse. At this point, I will be honest – I was not friendly at all.

He complains his job is too busy and too much and he doesn’t have time to help you. I had a quote from another company, but after much persuasion went with Pac Coast Moving. When they picked up on moving day, the cost was double the quote (we had two other quotes should have gone with them), and they didn’t stack the truck up so that it took up more space. The only person that has been kind and helpful was Chris, the guy who booked my move. He has been a great support. I was without my furniture or a date for three days. And I get hung up on every time I call as James, who by the is the ONLY one answering the phone. Such a scam. The owner needs to reach out to me. The only reason I went with the company was a promised date and Chris’s professionalism. I have been let down since then. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), and my attorney.

When our stuff did show up they held it for ransom until the total was paid and showed up late at night so my family and I had to unload the truck. We have pictures and videos to prove this all!

Horrible

Over $6000 in damages and lost items. They offered us $390. They will avoid responding to you for weeks. We paid for white glove service and only 1 mover came to our house so I had to help until 01:00 AM. Sam Calixte is a horrible manager in the Bay Area, RUN! Jim Horky will seem great at first and then blow you off if you sign a deal. They didn’t perform an inventory at time of pickup and attempted to charge me 17k for the move that was quoted at 5.5k citing that we had way more stuff than they estimated. The weight was 2000 pounds LESS than the estimate. They are a shameful company, do not trust Whitney Whitaker as she will not respond to you because she doesn’t know anything about her job. RUN!!!! F rating by the BBB! Do not trust their website reviews as they delete all the bad ones. This business needs to be shut down.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to Indianapolis, IN

Moved from Arizona to Indiana

I booked a move with this company April 2020 and my items, well some of them were delivered the weekend before Mother’s Day 2020. I was quoted $1500 for the move and ended up paying $2300 for my items to be delivered to a parking lot because the company wanted to charge about another $500 for movers to take my items from the truck into my apartment. Most of my claim was denied and the company only agreed to pay me $69 for the missing items and denied damage. I have yet to receive any form of payment and no response from the letter that they demanded be notarized and returned. BE WARNED! STAY AWAY!

Do not trust this company.

43 days ago they packed up a small load. It has still not been delivered

Lots of promises NONE of them kept

Price went up, priorities ignored , NO COVID 19 precautions

They say it is my fault for moving to a location that isn’t convenient for them. The location has never changed , why didn’t they say something before they took my money

Despicable business.

Long-distance move from Hopland, CA to Clark, SD

Nightmare Experience.

We were “misquoted” and ended up having to pay an extra $2000 upon arrival- even after going through inventory multiple times and adding extra space to be on the safe side.

We were told our stuff would not be taken to a warehouse and would be taken directly to our location- it ended up taking them weeks upon weeks to deliver our stuff.. zero to no communication from the company. When we did get communication it was after I called, emailed, text and even threatened with authority. (I was convinced we had been robbed at this point)

Staff was incredibly rude- one staff member actually got into a verbal altercation with my fiancé- incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. When our stuff did come- they only delivered half!! “No idea where the rest of it was” - was the drivers response, he had me call the company, and he left. It took them 43 days to deliver all of our stuff.

After going through our things, we figured out that our stuff had been rummaged through and we had multiple things stolen. We had two pair of limited edition Lebron James shoes stolen out of one of our suitcases. (Never worn, collectors items) I say stolen because they were packed in boxes in a suitcase- the suitcase arrived completely empty. This means someone went through our stuff and took what they wanted! Such a disgusting act. I have yet to get a response from the company on the stolen items.

Avoid at All Costs if You Care About Your Money And Items.

TLDR; This is quite possibly one of the worst moving companies that you can go with. If you care about your items, do not want them lost or stolen, or care about your money, then do not go with this company.

I am going to try my absolute best prevent anyone from dealing with the nightmare that is this company. First things first. This company goes by a variety of different names so you can’t target bad reviews to them. They make new Yelp pages with slight variations of their name so you can’t track their record of the absolute garbage treatment of their customers. Below are a few of the names that you can find them under:

* Pac Coast Moving

* Pacific Coast Moving

* Coast to Coast Moving

* Coast to Coast Long Distance Moving

* Pacific Coast Relocation

* Coast 2 Coast LLC

The company’s business model is not what you expect it to be. I called the department of transportation to find out more information on the company, and it turns out they only have 2 trucks registered under their name. Rather, what they do is broker out the moving jobs that they get to very shady independent contractors. This helps explain the lack of communication and stolen items that so many other reviews touch on.

My experience is as follows: In June 2020, my mother needed to move from Northern California to Florida. She hired this company. They took advantage of her (during a pandemic, mind you) assured her that her items would be there by mid July, and then ghosted us of all communication until mid August. We asked where our items were so we could cancel all services, and they refused to tell us. They claimed that it was stored In their warehouse in Sacramento, and the reason that it had not left California is because “no one wanted to drive to Florida, and maybe we shouldn’t have tried to move during a pandemic”. I repeat, THIS is what they tell you after they take your money; another way of saying this is “we have your money and valuables, so what are you going to do about it?”

Here is a template summary of how they will treat you. This is guaranteed what will happen to you, as this is what has happened to so many different customers already:

1. They sweet talk you into what seems like a reasonably priced moving quote. There are 3 individuals that are the absolute masters of lying: Joe, Jim, and Whitney. Who knows if these are even their real names. At some point, one of them told me that their name was Scott to avoid being scrutinized later on.

2. They take your money in the form of a credit card payment at the time of transaction, and then as a check at the time of loading your items onto a truck. This way, when they screw you over, you can cancel your credit card payment, but can’t get your cash back via the check.

3. They load your items onto a truck, and then this happens: YOU WILL NOT HEAR FROM THEM FOR LITERAL MONTHS. THEY WILL NOT ANSWER YOUR CALLS, TEXTS, OR EMAILS. It is almost as if your items are stolen, which they very well may be at some point, as other review state.

They allegedly have an office in the Los Angeles area: 1800 Century Park E Ste 600. I went to this office when they had ignored us for almost 2 months with our items having essentially gone up in smoke. I was told by the security guard at the front desk that they are not allowed to let anyone up, and that no company by the name of “Pacific Coast Moving” exists in the building. He also told me that I was the second individual to visit in over a 2 week span, asking for this company. I was sure at this point that we had been scammed. When we finally got our items back, we found out that their “warehouse” in Sacramento was a Public Storage facility. Our stuff was mixed in with god knows how many other unfortunate customers of this company.

There are a variety of falsely written “positive” reviews that the borderline illiterate employees of this company have written on a few review sites. Don’t be fooled.

To the company: simply put, how dare you guys continue to do this. I will try my absolute best to make sure that not a single other individual has the misfortune of dealing with the likes of you all. Good luck.

Company Employ Thieves.

The estimate was a half what it actually cost but the worse after my truck was packed the movers said they have an issue with theft! When I got my boxes they were opened and they stole so many items and what wasn't stolen they unwrapped and left to break. They actually left their box cutters in 2 boxes. Company took no responsibility and offered me $50 for a $4,000 claim. They bullied me into taking down my reviews and complaints claiming they would not look at my claim until I did. They gave me no inventory didn't put anything back together is by far the absolute worse moving company I have ever used! I would not let them move my trash to the curb! I hope I can save other unsuspecting consumers from this scamming, thieving company.

Do Not Use Pacific Coast Moving.

Do not use this company under any circumstances. They will lie to you, overcharge you and rip you off not communicate and will keep you hanging, not keep their word and on top of that some of your belongings will be damaged and or missing.

Once they have your money they are done with you. Totally unprofessional. Won't wear masks. Save yourself the stress and sleepless nights, don't get taken advantage by them and get a POD!

Besides the amount they estimate they pad the estimate to make it look like you have more cubic feet.

What you put out you get back and I would imagine their lives are reflecting the lies and total lack of respect they give to their customers.

The worst of the worst.

No one in this company has heard of accountability. Nor do they care. Including the owner. They do everything on the cheap. They didn't bring furniture blankets or pads but had quoted "wrapping everything". The operations guy starts out like he cares, but the minute the dirt bag foreman walked through my door they were wanting more money.

They did nothing they said they would and destroyed beloved pieces of furniture and broke all kinds of stuff.

I could write a horror novel about this experience. Bottom line, these guys are thieves and idiots and zero intention of delivering what they say. When I had issues Scott the sales guy said "I won't ignore you, I'll take responsibility" Guess who couldn't be reached for follow up. Total sleeze bag.

I booked a move with 4-5 movers for a 5 bedroom home. I have to pick up the rest of the stuff myself, they misquoted, they sent 3 people to my pick up and it went from 8p until 2:30a! ridiculous!! And I had to spend more money on the other end to hire my own movers to unload the truck because they only sent a driver.

I have a 3, 5, 7 and 10 year old and this company held my full truck in limbo to get me to pay more money, the called the four day delay expedited service.

Seriously dismiss any follow up from these world class asses. Call flat rate, or gentle giant anyone but these clowns.

Sincerely,

Ripped off big time.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Nevada

WORST costumer service experience and also $$.

Let me start off by leaving 2 reviews, #1 for my experience with the movers upon arrival and delivery, #2 solely based on my experience with management. My movers were amazing and fast, I relocated to a new state (3 1/2 hr distance) and upon my pickup and delivery they’ve must of spent a total of 2 hrs max at each location. Movers were very helpful and accommodating, fast, respectful with good energy and a great attitude! My movers made this experience easy for me, I only wish I could say the same about management, which brings me to my 2nd review. I should have seen the red flags beginning when I booked, I was made out to seem stupid for not knowing the terminology moving companies use and almost pressured to book with them, I received a late call that night from the booking agent who almost seemed mildly intoxicated but ultimately I looked pass that and decided to book with them over the active communication we had going on for weeks and (important to me esp because we’re moving to a new state) he was very persistent and informative during our conversations before and polite so I brushed off his tone that night. Once my apt was booked I received a call from Jim the evening before my pick up date with details of my move, there is no time frame for when the movers arrive, you basically need to be on standby and wait for a call. My experience at first with Jim seemed pleasant but things took a turn shortly after. My husband had called a day before to set up a drop off time and was told to be on standby the following day for a call from the movers, since that’s how it worked in the beginning we decided to stay put and wait for a call. Hrs passed and I received no communication, I already had some furniture and essentials at my house so I wasn’t in a hurry to have all of my stuff delivered, I just needed to know if someone was coming. I called Jim in the am he said he would call me back with an update, and I called again in the afternoon since I didn’t receive a call back hrs after. Ultimately he told me nobody was coming that day or the next and it was hard to tell when I would get my stuff delivered but I would need to wait an estimate of 6 days, I tired to confirm a time but he was adamant it could be 6 days, his tone was very blunt no compassion/understanding almost like a take it or leave it attitude, I work during the week so having someone be home was obviously important, I tired to explain that but before I could, he proceeded to make his point across and hung up on me before I could continue my conversation. Days passed and I had no communication, on the 4/5th day I left 2 vm’s with Jim and didn’t receive a call back (he normally picks up so I thought that was strange), I called the booking line I originally had called many times before and that was disconnected, called costumer service and was directed to a VM each time. At this time I was thinking the worst, maybe something happened to the company or my stuff and I was anxiously trying to confirm my inventory was safe. The next morning, I took my chances and called the 866 number and selected a different option, I figured this number is a landline so if someone answers this is because the business is open. That option directed me to Jim who answered. I asked him about the VM’s I left and my concern with my stuff, explained to him the other line I called was disconnected so I’m calling to make sure my stuff was secure and safe, I think I even said I’m not pressuring you abt the move I’m just looking for some type of communication. He raised his voice and yelled at me during the whole conversation, he spoke over me and didn’t let me explain myself, again with his take it or leave it attitude, and for the 2nd time hung up on me. I wasn’t looking for a fight I was only seeking communication, this man made me feel like I had no right to check on my belongings, he seemed so bothered by me and it made me feel uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong. During that encounter I decided to txt Jim, since that seemed the only way I could communicate with him without being cut off. I told him by txt he was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me and he should have some patience dealing with costumers, and that I didn’t appreciate being over spoken to and hung up on for the 2nd time. He proceeded to say “I woke him up and he was about as happy with the conversation as I was” lastly I asked to obtain the manager information and that he should receive costumer service training and be more understanding especially during times like this. He then told me he was the manager and txt back a professional message, 2 days later I had my stuff delivered. Personally I will never hire his company again as long as he manages it, his team of movers however A+. Hope this helps the seeking costumer narrow down their research in this demanding market.

Phenomenal Moving Experience.

My relocation from LA to Virginia went smoothly with this company orchestrating the out of state move. My things were carefully transported, everything accounted for and the communication was consistently provided throughout the service.

The movers were also gracious about putting all of our furniture where we specified and assembled everything properly. Luckily there were no missing pieces or furniture. Everything was successfully transported to my new Virginia residence. Thank you for a smooth experience.

Long-distance move from Laguna Hills, CA to Reno, NV

I'm in a nightmare and I'm not the only one.

Will one more bad review really help anyone or get my things back? My things were picked up Aug 24th in so. CAL to be delivered in Reno NV. It's been a month now. I did not choose PCM. I unknowingly hired a BROKER who lead me to these wolves. I'd be repeating the same story as told below if I got started. No different. Lies, verbal abuse, overcharges, no return calls, more lies. They actually sent a truck to Reno last week saying my things were on their way! It got here, they wanted balance up front to unload. I said no way. Show me my things first. He tried calling Gary the dispatch guy but no answer. So he opened the truck. Nothing of mine. The truck was empty except for someone's drum set. Luckily my sister was with me to witness. No one would believe this. I'm seeking all federal and government consumer complaint agencies. SO many others this month on yelp are just as outraged. Where are our legal helpers??

Long-distance move from California to North Carolina

Excessive Damage, Stolen Items, Unprofessional - TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS!

Extensive Damage, Stolen High Value Items, Complete Mismanagement of Schedule for Pick-Up & Delivery, and More than Twice The Original Price Quoted at 1:30AM! RUN!!

I received a quote, was very detailed and descriptive; I booked. The morning of pick up, I reached out to Jim Horky who I had been assured would have confirmed several days in advance.. he did not. He was unprofessional on the phone and confused. If they overextended their schedule, that was not my fault.

Movers were supposed to show up at 12PM. They arrived 8.5 HOURS LATE to the confirmed pick up time and day (at 8:30PM) and stayed until 1:30AM while intentionally getting me alone to discuss details of job (I had to tell the movers that my dog was aggressive so that they would keep some distance from me!). The "manager" Sam in Sacramento, CA was constantly saying more money was expected without giving details until all of the movers were sent home. He faked a phone call with a company administrator at 11:30PM in front of me to "prove" that I had no choice, I couldn't back out and I had to pay. I was then told "I had no choice" but to agree to pay over twice the quoted price, the movers would not come back to remove my items from the trucks (and if I requested that, I would still owe them money). Documentation was not provided at this time which is a violation of CA State Law. No official paperwork was exchanged but he would not leave my garage without receiving a check for which I received no receipt of payment. It should be noted, the movers also arrived hungry and thirsty (I provided them a meal out of kindness), and they littered the streets so much that I had them pick up after themselves before leaving, and still had to go out myself the next day. The house was heavily damaged due to their inexperience and had to be repaired at my cost!

2 weeks later, I expected delivery of items across the country and when the trucks arrived (after much confusion from the delivery coordinator stating that the shipment had not even left the state of CA let alone on the East Coast, then 2 hours later, confirming that they were nearby but could not deliver on agreed upon date), I found that items arrived broken, shattered, excessively damaged, "fragile" labeled boxes completely smashed, and a few high priced items did not arrive at all including a Samsung Curve TV that the movers themselves made comments about liking as they packed it, a hand-woven Persian rug, and a high quality Air Compressor. The delivery driver had also been lied to: they expected 2 men on the east coast to do what 9 men did in California.

After much back and forth with the original representative, Chris Clay, as well as the customer service agent responsible for claims, Whitney Whitaker, we were assured that this was not normal and that there would be a claims process taking between 45-60 days. I have been very patient with regular check ins asking for further communication. It has now exceeded the secondary estimate for claims resolution date with no contact even after a phone call, voice mail, and text message sent to the appropriate representative.

PLEASE RUN from this business! I never leave bad reviews but this is how bad it is!! Please take my word for it, pay a bit more on the front end for a high quality business and save yourself the headache I have endured the past 3 months!! They quoted me $2400. I end up spending $6800 with them, and paying at least another $2000 in damages made to my property, fixing items, and replacing items entirely due to excessive damage! People cannot afford this level of incompetence.. I can't afford this! And they have cost me so much!

Long-distance move from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA to Gilbert, AZ

Criminals pure and simple.

Liars, crooks and thevies! Overcharged us after loading up the "rental truck " came to our house over a month later. 1 driver and you have to unload all your stuff. Our personal belongings were smashed, crushed, busted, broken, water damage on everything and over 50 thousand dollars worth of very expensive items missing. They even robbed our bank account and stole over 500 dollars in fuel charges. I contacted every government official even the Attorney General and nobody cares. The driver even sexually assaulted my 14 year old daughter and the government still could care less. They will claim bk then start a new llc and repeat this crimal cycle. I found that they have been doing this for nearly 20 years and last year alone they hustled well over 50 billion dollars. Wonder if the government is getting a cut? Maybe that's why they don't care. They keep sighting "the Carmack Amendment" est. 1906. I don't buy it. So if you don't want to be another victim don't use them and do your research!

Long-distance move from Browns Valley, CA to Waco, TX

The Worst Move

Please don't use this company. They will quote you a very low price and then hike it up in order to retrieve your goods. My mother paid more than 5 times what was originally told to her on their "guaranteed estimate". Many items lost or stolen - computer, 2 vacuum cleaners, queen headboard, etc. We have 90 photos of damage to her household goods. They have offered nothing so far in response to our complaint.

Long-distance move from Moorpark, CA to Bonita Springs, FL

When will they refund me for their con job?

Thieves, Liars, Con artists and every other derogatory word you can think of to explain these two people, Jim and Whitney, who run this company, which I don't think even exists any more. They hire a contractor to pack up your house then they drop the ball. They jam packed our goods in undisclosed storage units and never set a delivery date. We had to file a police report, consult an attorney and track down our own goods. We hired a new mover and delivered our goods without their assistance. From the other reviews, we got lucky and only lost $12,000 instead of all our stuff. If they had ever delivered our goods, they would have been months late and either broken or stolen as they don't have their own trucks, but they hire unexperienced truckers who happen to be going your way. They unwrap all your stuff, rifle through it, steal what they want and deliver the rest broken. They have no insurance and their place of business doesn't even exist. Don't get lured in. Also, watch for a name change. They do that often.
