Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Asheville, NC

Do Not Use Pacific Coast Moving.

Do not use this company under any circumstances. They will lie to you, overcharge you and rip you off not communicate and will keep you hanging, not keep their word and on top of that some of your belongings will be damaged and or missing.

Once they have your money they are done with you. Totally unprofessional. Won't wear masks. Save yourself the stress and sleepless nights, don't get taken advantage by them and get a POD!

Besides the amount they estimate they pad the estimate to make it look like you have more cubic feet.

What you put out you get back and I would imagine their lives are reflecting the lies and total lack of respect they give to their customers.

Pac Coast Did a Great Job for our move.

Thanks Pac Coast Team. They were very professional and showed up even 30 mins early. They treated my stuff like it was their own. They wrapped and packed everything securely. They did charge me a few extra dollars fro some things I did forget to mention. I though it was fair. I would definitely use them again for my next move. Thanks Pac Coast team.

Long-distance move from San Ramon, CA to Bend, OR

The worst of the worst.

No one in this company has heard of accountability. Nor do they care. Including the owner. They do everything on the cheap. They didn't bring furniture blankets or pads but had quoted "wrapping everything". The operations guy starts out like he cares, but the minute the dirt bag foreman walked through my door they were wanting more money.

They did nothing they said they would and destroyed beloved pieces of furniture and broke all kinds of stuff.

I could write a horror novel about this experience. Bottom line, these guys are thieves and idiots and zero intention of delivering what they say. When I had issues Scott the sales guy said "I won't ignore you, I'll take responsibility" Guess who couldn't be reached for follow up. Total sleeze bag.

I booked a move with 4-5 movers for a 5 bedroom home. I have to pick up the rest of the stuff myself, they misquoted, they sent 3 people to my pick up and it went from 8p until 2:30a! ridiculous!! And I had to spend more money on the other end to hire my own movers to unload the truck because they only sent a driver.

I have a 3, 5, 7 and 10 year old and this company held my full truck in limbo to get me to pay more money, the called the four day delay expedited service.

Seriously dismiss any follow up from these world class asses. Call flat rate, or gentle giant anyone but these clowns.

Sincerely,

Ripped off big time.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Nevada

WORST costumer service experience and also $$.

Let me start off by leaving 2 reviews, #1 for my experience with the movers upon arrival and delivery, #2 solely based on my experience with management. My movers were amazing and fast, I relocated to a new state (3 1/2 hr distance) and upon my pickup and delivery they’ve must of spent a total of 2 hrs max at each location. Movers were very helpful and accommodating, fast, respectful with good energy and a great attitude! My movers made this experience easy for me, I only wish I could say the same about management, which brings me to my 2nd review. I should have seen the red flags beginning when I booked, I was made out to seem stupid for not knowing the terminology moving companies use and almost pressured to book with them, I received a late call that night from the booking agent who almost seemed mildly intoxicated but ultimately I looked pass that and decided to book with them over the active communication we had going on for weeks and (important to me esp because we’re moving to a new state) he was very persistent and informative during our conversations before and polite so I brushed off his tone that night. Once my apt was booked I received a call from Jim the evening before my pick up date with details of my move, there is no time frame for when the movers arrive, you basically need to be on standby and wait for a call. My experience at first with Jim seemed pleasant but things took a turn shortly after. My husband had called a day before to set up a drop off time and was told to be on standby the following day for a call from the movers, since that’s how it worked in the beginning we decided to stay put and wait for a call. Hrs passed and I received no communication, I already had some furniture and essentials at my house so I wasn’t in a hurry to have all of my stuff delivered, I just needed to know if someone was coming. I called Jim in the am he said he would call me back with an update, and I called again in the afternoon since I didn’t receive a call back hrs after. Ultimately he told me nobody was coming that day or the next and it was hard to tell when I would get my stuff delivered but I would need to wait an estimate of 6 days, I tired to confirm a time but he was adamant it could be 6 days, his tone was very blunt no compassion/understanding almost like a take it or leave it attitude, I work during the week so having someone be home was obviously important, I tired to explain that but before I could, he proceeded to make his point across and hung up on me before I could continue my conversation. Days passed and I had no communication, on the 4/5th day I left 2 vm’s with Jim and didn’t receive a call back (he normally picks up so I thought that was strange), I called the booking line I originally had called many times before and that was disconnected, called costumer service and was directed to a VM each time. At this time I was thinking the worst, maybe something happened to the company or my stuff and I was anxiously trying to confirm my inventory was safe. The next morning, I took my chances and called the 866 number and selected a different option, I figured this number is a landline so if someone answers this is because the business is open. That option directed me to Jim who answered. I asked him about the VM’s I left and my concern with my stuff, explained to him the other line I called was disconnected so I’m calling to make sure my stuff was secure and safe, I think I even said I’m not pressuring you abt the move I’m just looking for some type of communication. He raised his voice and yelled at me during the whole conversation, he spoke over me and didn’t let me explain myself, again with his take it or leave it attitude, and for the 2nd time hung up on me. I wasn’t looking for a fight I was only seeking communication, this man made me feel like I had no right to check on my belongings, he seemed so bothered by me and it made me feel uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong. During that encounter I decided to txt Jim, since that seemed the only way I could communicate with him without being cut off. I told him by txt he was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me and he should have some patience dealing with costumers, and that I didn’t appreciate being over spoken to and hung up on for the 2nd time. He proceeded to say “I woke him up and he was about as happy with the conversation as I was” lastly I asked to obtain the manager information and that he should receive costumer service training and be more understanding especially during times like this. He then told me he was the manager and txt back a professional message, 2 days later I had my stuff delivered. Personally I will never hire his company again as long as he manages it, his team of movers however A+. Hope this helps the seeking costumer narrow down their research in this demanding market.

Long-distance move from Santa Clara, CA to Fairfax, VA

Phenomenal Moving Experience.

My relocation from LA to Virginia went smoothly with this company orchestrating the out of state move. My things were carefully transported, everything accounted for and the communication was consistently provided throughout the service.

The movers were also gracious about putting all of our furniture where we specified and assembled everything properly. Luckily there were no missing pieces or furniture. Everything was successfully transported to my new Virginia residence. Thank you for a smooth experience.

Long-distance move from Vacaville, CA to Richmond, TX

Move from Vacaville CA to Richmond TX.

The move was unorganized. Many of my items were broken, lost/taken I don't know. It took me approx 45 days to get some of my items back. The "insurance " is a joke. You need a legal "dream team" at this point. I lost my China, dishes, linens etc. in this move. When I tried to contact them I could not! Run Forrest Run!

Long-distance move from Laguna Hills, CA to Reno, NV

I'm in a nightmare and I'm not the only one.

Will one more bad review really help anyone or get my things back? My things were picked up Aug 24th in so. CAL to be delivered in Reno NV. It's been a month now. I did not choose PCM. I unknowingly hired a BROKER who lead me to these wolves. I'd be repeating the same story as told below if I got started. No different. Lies, verbal abuse, overcharges, no return calls, more lies. They actually sent a truck to Reno last week saying my things were on their way! It got here, they wanted balance up front to unload. I said no way. Show me my things first. He tried calling Gary the dispatch guy but no answer. So he opened the truck. Nothing of mine. The truck was empty except for someone's drum set. Luckily my sister was with me to witness. No one would believe this. I'm seeking all federal and government consumer complaint agencies. SO many others this month on yelp are just as outraged. Where are our legal helpers??

Long-distance move from California to North Carolina

Excessive Damage, Stolen Items, Unprofessional - TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS!

Extensive Damage, Stolen High Value Items, Complete Mismanagement of Schedule for Pick-Up & Delivery, and More than Twice The Original Price Quoted at 1:30AM! RUN!!

I received a quote, was very detailed and descriptive; I booked. The morning of pick up, I reached out to Jim Horky who I had been assured would have confirmed several days in advance.. he did not. He was unprofessional on the phone and confused. If they overextended their schedule, that was not my fault.

Movers were supposed to show up at 12PM. They arrived 8.5 HOURS LATE to the confirmed pick up time and day (at 8:30PM) and stayed until 1:30AM while intentionally getting me alone to discuss details of job (I had to tell the movers that my dog was aggressive so that they would keep some distance from me!). The "manager" Sam in Sacramento, CA was constantly saying more money was expected without giving details until all of the movers were sent home. He faked a phone call with a company administrator at 11:30PM in front of me to "prove" that I had no choice, I couldn't back out and I had to pay. I was then told "I had no choice" but to agree to pay over twice the quoted price, the movers would not come back to remove my items from the trucks (and if I requested that, I would still owe them money). Documentation was not provided at this time which is a violation of CA State Law. No official paperwork was exchanged but he would not leave my garage without receiving a check for which I received no receipt of payment. It should be noted, the movers also arrived hungry and thirsty (I provided them a meal out of kindness), and they littered the streets so much that I had them pick up after themselves before leaving, and still had to go out myself the next day. The house was heavily damaged due to their inexperience and had to be repaired at my cost!

2 weeks later, I expected delivery of items across the country and when the trucks arrived (after much confusion from the delivery coordinator stating that the shipment had not even left the state of CA let alone on the East Coast, then 2 hours later, confirming that they were nearby but could not deliver on agreed upon date), I found that items arrived broken, shattered, excessively damaged, "fragile" labeled boxes completely smashed, and a few high priced items did not arrive at all including a Samsung Curve TV that the movers themselves made comments about liking as they packed it, a hand-woven Persian rug, and a high quality Air Compressor. The delivery driver had also been lied to: they expected 2 men on the east coast to do what 9 men did in California.

After much back and forth with the original representative, Chris Clay, as well as the customer service agent responsible for claims, Whitney Whitaker, we were assured that this was not normal and that there would be a claims process taking between 45-60 days. I have been very patient with regular check ins asking for further communication. It has now exceeded the secondary estimate for claims resolution date with no contact even after a phone call, voice mail, and text message sent to the appropriate representative.

PLEASE RUN from this business! I never leave bad reviews but this is how bad it is!! Please take my word for it, pay a bit more on the front end for a high quality business and save yourself the headache I have endured the past 3 months!! They quoted me $2400. I end up spending $6800 with them, and paying at least another $2000 in damages made to my property, fixing items, and replacing items entirely due to excessive damage! People cannot afford this level of incompetence.. I can't afford this! And they have cost me so much!
