I have moved several times over the years and never had a single issue until my most recent move. This company was the very worst. I reserved the date 3 months in advance and they wouldn't give me a confirmed date until 24 hours before the time they would be there. Then they got another company to do the move. Dates and times were all mixed up from pick up right through delivery. Several items including furniture were damaged. The dispatcher was very rude and condescending. Never again with this company.

Horrible company! They scam me $584.74. Northern Moving System just does not show up and no answer to calls, text or emails on the day of the move. On December 3, my husband and myself travelled to Barstow, California from Montgomery, Illinois to pick up my grieving aunt who just recently lost her husband from Cancer. This company was supposed to pick up my Aunt stuff on either December 4 or December 5 of 2020. On the day of the move, we did not received any communication from this company. No answer to our calls, text or emails. We missed our flight back to illinois. We waited for nothing. My aunt left all her belongings because of the negligence of this company. We flew back to illinois on December 7. And every day that we were there, I was calling them many times leaving messages after messages. When I called Northern Moving Systems on December 7, I was able to talk to this lady named Diane, I demanded to know what happened. She says, she will call me back in 30 minutes and never did. I filed a dispute with my credit card in the amount of $584.74. Northern Moving Systems showed my credit card company that I canceled since I did not answer my calls and so the deposit is non refundable. They turned it around and made it sound like they were the ones calling me and that I was not answering. I have proof from my phone bill records that will show the many times I called this company with no return calls. Northern Moving Systems is taking advantage of good honest people like us. I don’t want anyone to experience what we have experienced. Don’t ever trust Northern Moving Systems! If they will scam $584.74 , how much more thousands of dollars of business transactions. Please do yourself a favor and don’t ever do business with Northern Moving Systems. They are the most dishonest, disgusting company I have ever encountered in my lifetime. Thank you.

Absolutely horrible experience with this company. The moving company stole $7,000.00 worth of my jewelry out of my bathroom and also lost a box containing nearly $10,000.00 worth of my ski clothes. When I filed a police report, they contacted the movers and found out these guys were hired off of Craigslist that same day and paid cash. The company has offered no compensation and they don't even have an insurance policy in place. They have been quite unresponsive and offered no solution except that there is "no proof" that my stuff was stolen. I sent pictures, I have receipts. I don't know what more proof they need. I highly recommend against EVER hiring this company. They cannot be trusted and are not even BBB accredited.

I was hustled, big time. These guys are good. It wasn't their first time and it won't be their last. After going through my inventory over the phone, I was quoted $4,800, months prior to my move. It was the lowest bid of the three that I received so we paid the deposit. This was the start of the hustle. After ignoring my calls and emails during the weeks leading up to my move to confirm pick up dates/times and to review my inventory, I receive a call at 830pm the night prior to my move, confirming my biggest fear. I was told that I had much more to move than they had accounted for and I would need an entire truck which was going to cost me... big time. There was no talk of what additional items I had, they just said that I had more than they had accounted for. The next morning (the morning of our move), I receive an email at 9:51am with an updated contract for $8,000 - 60% move than the "bait" that I bit on originally. The phone rings and I am told that I either need to sign the contract or they will cancel my move. At this point, I have closed escrow on my house and I am obligated to vacate the house the following day. This is the second part of their hustle. They had me over the barrel and I had no options and they know it. After I signed, the movers arrive and immediately have me sign their contract (not Northern Moving Systems) and I notice that they have a 2.3 star rating with the BBB. Again, at this point, you have no options. At the end of things, my calls to management and customer service were dodged and I can't get any sort of accountability from these grifters. Either the estimator intentionally low balled my bid to execute this scam or he is incompetent, either way, I paid the price and forked over an extra $3,000 the morning of my move because they had me, and they got me. Moving is stressful enough - do not add being extorted for your hard earned money to the things to worry about when moving.

I had an awful experience with Northern Moving Systems. After they take your money, they are nowhere to be found and will not offer you the support or guidance that they promise upfront. They are a broker (don't complete the move themselves), and don't appear to vet their partners very well in my experience, so it is really a roll of the dice whether you'll get a trustworthy, helpful company or not. And then no company involved wants to take any accountability for their actions, so they shuffle the blame back and forth.

If I had to do it again, I would have just paid more to go with an actual moving company - not a broker.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1995

I booked Northern Moving Systems to move from New Jersey to Texas on April 21st 2021. Following are the inventory list: 15 medium/large boxes, 5 large suitcase, 2 office chair & 1 adult bike. Based on the inventory, they offered me to move these items for $1,850. I agreed to that and paid $650 as advance payment using my credit card and agreed to pay $600 on the day of pick up and remaining $600 on delivery. The move was scheduled on April 29th 2021.

They outsourced my move to CR7 Moving and Storage and they came to my home for pick up on April 29th 2021. They picked up following items: 7 medium boxes (8 less than estimate), 4 large suitcase (1 less than estimate), 2 office chair & 1 adult bike. After loading all these items into the truck, they told me total cost for this move is $2,950 excluding deposit (which is $650, including this, new total will be $3,600 which is 100% more than the agreed price with Northern Moving Systems). I asked them why they are increasing the price, they said it is more than inventory list. But it is clearly less than the inventory list. Since I don't want to pay the additional amount, I called Neil from Northern Moving Systems who was my moving consultant. He told that he will check and get back. Then I got a call from Dianne from Northern Moving Systems, and explained the scenario, she told me the she will talk to the CR7 and get back. Meanwhile, CR7 started negotiating with me. They started with $2,950 excluding deposit, now they asked me to pay $2,100 (excluding deposit). I told them that I had contract with only Northern Moving Systems and waiting for response from them. Then CR7 started bargain again and asked me to pay $2,000 (excluding deposit). I didn't agree to that, so they started rushing and said they can't wait for more time and need to leave. I asked them to wait for the call from Northern Moving Systems, they didn't agree and started unloading my items from the truck and put everything on the street. It was raining at the time and they put all items on rain and left the scene. Then, they started the negotiation again, because of this bad experience with them, I don't want to negotiate and started moving my items into the house. Meanwhile, I got a call from Cheryl (Northern Moving Systems) and I told me that they will come and pick up again. I don't want CR7 to pick up my items again because of the current experience, and I told her that. She was so rude and said she will not issue refund. Don't book your move with this company and read more on scams by cubic feet moving scams. STAY AWAY from them. I don't want anyone to suffer like me.

I needed my piano moved from my place to my mother's, both locations in Texas. I had called around to numerous places but Northern Moving Systems stood out right from the start. I knew right away when speaking with her that I was going to go with this company without a doubt. Booking was easy, the guys who came to move the piano were friendly and went through exactly what they were going to do to move the piano safely. In the future if I need to move anything else I am definitely going with Northern Moving Systems.
