Long-distance move from San Jose, CA to Vancouver, WA

THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!

BEWARE, New Leaf Moving IS A TOTAL SCAM COMPANY.

New Leaf Moving is a broker who got me to sign up and pay them. Then they lied to me. Contract says 24-48 hrs notice for movers to show. They called at 9am and said movers are coming in 5 hrs, between 2-4.

MOVERS NEVER SHOWED UP! MOVERS NEVER CALLED!

Called NLM but you just get a recording and then they never call you back.

MOVERS NEVER SHOW UP BUT YOU PAY ANYWAY.

It's a nightmare working with them. They just lie about the price, about the times and dates.

SAVE YOURSELF THE NIGHTMARE AND DO NOT USE THEM.

Absolute nightmare

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had to date. At first, New Leaf was great - Josh has great selling skills and i fully believed i had made a good decision for my planned cross country move. However, once i made my initial deposit, everything changed. The communication was so bad I’ve never experienced anything like it. I called several times to ask about full coverage insurance, which i had to go through them to obtain, and never received a response. Each time i waited on hold for at least an hour with customer service and when i finally got ahold of someone, they told me someone would call me back with an answer (which they never did) and treated me as an inconvenience. The final straw was when they canceled my move at 8pm the night before it was scheduled. They gave me no alternative, just canceled it entirely. Because it was after business hours, i couldn’t call anyone else or try to figure out alternatives until the following morning. Not only did i have to change my flights, i had to ask my landlord to let me stay a few extra days and reach out to my new job regarding my first day. Overall, I think 1 star is generous - it was an absolute nightmare. Do not use this company.

Scam company

Where to start.... Sorry I could not give zero stars...They are not a moving company, they are brokers.... I believe they have no idea what a moving truck is. All they do is figure out how to take your money and give no services, no call back, nothing. So sad they are still in business. PEOPLE... READ THE REVIEWS.... NO STARS, THEY SAY IT ALL... YOU PAY AND THEY LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK WITH YOUR MONEY..... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REMOVE THEM FROM THE WEB.... HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO BE SUBJECTED TO THIS.... NEW LEAF, OLD LEAF, OMG

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to San Marcos, TX

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This has been the worst experience. Not only did they arrive with a truck that was clearly too small, the movers said he would make it fit because they were professionals. After 6 hours of moving into the truck and everything else out onto my lawn, by 10:30pm it was clear the stuff wouldn’t fit. They told me I needed to double my original charges because they would have to come back the next day for the other things. I was clear about how much furniture I had when I spoke to Nick the sales rep. He recorded a 1 bedroom apartment knowing full well I had a 3 bedroom house with an office and a gym. I asked for them to unload my things because I could not afford the new price for the move and they refused.

After forcing me to sign another contract or leaving me with 20% of my things on the lawn they said 3-15 business days for arrival. Instead, it took nearly a month.

When my things arrived, after virtually no updates at all from the movers, they called me at 7:30pm to tell me they would be there at 9:30pm. I live alone and didn’t want 3 strange men showing up at my house after dark. I also could not access the house until Friday. When I explained that to them, they told me my choices were to take the stuff on Thursday or they would drop it in storage for me to pick up myself. I’m a single woman with no family in the United States. I will have to hire new movers to go and get the stuff after I had paid them nearly double what I was quoted.

Instead, I rented a Uhaul truck and parked it out front of my new house so they could drop the stuff there, instead of a storage locker and I hired new and different movers to help me unload my own rented Uhaul on Friday when I could get into my new house.

This experience could not have been worse. Please don’t use this company for your own peace of mind.

Long-distance move from Saugerties, NY to Boulder, CO

Can I give less than 1 star?

Man, these guys are Crooks with a capital C. It’s hard to know where to even start with how terrible my experience has been with them. If you look at my other reviews on Google and Yelp, I’m not just here to trash people. I normally only use those forums to highlight great local businesses. But, I wouldn’t wish New Leaf on my worst enemy.

Let’s start with the positives. It seems like they have a working phone line. That is all.

On to the negatives. There are so many bad reviews on here, it almost seems redundant to write one but here goes. Like a lot of these other people, New Leaf severely underquoted the amount of stuff we needed to move, even though they assured me they were over quoting. They subcontracted the move to another company who sent a truck (a tiny cube truck covered in graffiti) that wasn’t even big enough to load the underestimated quote. The subcontractors tried to get me to pay a whole bunch of last minute costs that New Leaf assured me I wouldn’t get hit with. When I asked the subcontractors what was going to happen with the rest of my stuff, they said they didn’t know. I would have to figure it out.

The subcontractors held my stuff ransom. I had to drive 3 hours to a warehouse in New Jersey and pay some guy over a thousand dollars cash to get my stuff back. At no point since I confirmed the job with the New Leaf booking agent (Steven Williams) have I been able to speak to anyone at New Leaf. When you call through to the 888 number you can choose 1 for a quote or 2 for customer service. If you choose 1, they say they can't help you and put you through to customer service. If you choose 2 you go directly to customer service. Either way you go straight through to an answering machine to leave a message that never gets returned.

These people are awful and shouldn’t be in business another day. If this review helps one person choose another moving company, that’s great. And, if there are any good reviews, don’t believe them. They’re probably from the owner of the company, Rebecca, who also goes by the aliases Nicole (nicole@newleafmovinggroup.com) or Kristin (kristin@purpleheartmovinggroup.com).

Finally, if you’ve already gotten into a mess with them, I’m so sorry for you. There is a woman who is heading up a class action lawsuit against them. You should email her here (newleaflawsuit@gmail.com).

Moving Experience

This is the worst moving company and the worst moving experience of my life. Very unprofessional, significant damage to our household goods, no inventory done, no boxes labeled, unresponsive, did over $3000 damage to the house we moved from, dumped our furniture and didn’t put anything back together, extremely rude and they make the claims process so cumbersome you just give up. Do not use this company even if your just moving across rhe street.

The Worst Moving Company Ever!!!!!!

Do not use this company!!!! They changed their estimate 4 times and they made me to pay $4000 more than what we agreed on. The sales guy tricked me by changing the size of the boxed to small from medium before I sign the document. I wished that would be it, but when they delivered my items in LA , I found out there are missing my all my Snowboard, Wakeboard equipments, Chair and Sofa in the value of $8000 and then they try to settle with $150 . I couldn't reach to sales person as soon as I signed the contract and nobody from the company is contacting me regarding my missing/stolen…Read more

DO NOT hire New Leaf

TLDR - don't waste your time and money with this so-called "company." Any positive review that you read about New Leaf Moving Group should be scrutinized and met with skepticism. We fell for the trap of reading positive reviews and thinking this company was reputable, when, in fact, they simply paid for fake reviews and scammed their customers. Here are the reasons why no one should ever hire New Leaf Moving Group.

1) They are merely a broker and hire scammers and criminals as the actual movers. For us, they hired Inch Perfect Logistics, owned by Vanessa Gonzalez, who has had multiple moving companies shut down for taking customers' belongings, storing them in empty warehouses for months at a time without ever delivering items, and even stealing and selling goods.

2) Their sales rep required that we put down a deposit worth of the total bill, to initiate the service. A deposit IS NOT industry standard! You should run away any time a moving company asks for a deposit. Besides that, there were so many lies when they were trying to sell to us (underestimate, claim that they own trucks, promised one week delivery, arranged to pick up our car but never showed up, customer service will be with us along the way...). I can go on and on.

3) They continuously lied to us about when we would receive our belongings from the moving company, but it turned out that they didn't know where our stuff was. It was actually sitting in a warehouse in New Jersey, mixed with other customers' stuff, and we found out only because the owner of the warehouse (who was not Inch Perfect) called my wife who left our number on all of our boxes.

After two months of calling New Leaf's customer service department without any luck, we finally realized we were completely scammed. Long story short, we hired another reputable mover and received our belongings after three months. New Leaf Moving Group did issue us a refund of the deposit, but they made our move incredibly painful by hiring a third-party criminal to collect our stuff, charging us a deposit upfront, and lying to us about the delivery progress. I could not more strongly advocate for people to not use this company. Go with a more reputable moving company like Mayflower instead.

Recent move

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. The whole process is a scam. When they showed up the bid increased and the personnel was pathetic. They had no experience and did a terrible job of packing my goods. It has now been six months and I have not received my articles.

They say the company they hired has gone out of business. I tried to file a claim but no one would process the same. It was a horrible experience so please take my advise and NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. This company should be forced to quit doing business as it a fraud and takes money and delivers nothing. Any favorable review is a fake.
