Value Added Moving

Everything started off okay. The guy was super friendly and we inventoried everything and he gave me a quote for $6700. They called me two weeks before and upped the price to $9k because they thought I had more stuff, I said fine because hey everything was inventoried it shouldn’t go up again right? It literally DOUBLED the original quote the day of to $13k even though I went room by room and had fewer boxes than I said, I don’t understand how this happens when they were aware how much stuff I had when they called the FIRST time. Also the movers helpers never showed up so it took him 6 hours and we had to help load our stuff otherwise there is no way the poor guy could have done it himself. Our stuff took 38 days to get here even though our contract says the most is 31 days. Their customer service representative was not helpful and when I said how upset I was and that I’ll be contacting a lawyer he said “thank you for your kind words.” We are currently speaking to someone about suing them. Do NOT use this company.

So our moving process started with me calling Value Added Moving company and them giving me the estimate. But the trick they do after you describe in detail all items you need to move is they tell you that you would need much smaller space in the truck which you would actually need and they give you a great discount on that price, but the price for square feet stays the same. So this Value Added Moving company are brokers and look on the market for movers with the truck to come to pick up your stuff. You don’t even know which company will come. So this company who actually came to pick up our things charged us two and half times more than what they have estimated. We had to pay because they told it to us after loading our things into the truck and we had to move on that day. There is always a person on the phone, but if any problem they don’t know much about what’s happening with the truck and send you to the company who picked up your things. But this company phone is not working, so you can contact them just by email and this email gets ignored. This company delayed our delivery, lost and broke a bunch of stuff, and refused to assemble disassembled furniture at the destination. Also, they have lost screws, so all disassembled furniture is not useful. Such scammers.
