A total scam. They overcharge, damage your belongings, and no one take

I was quoted $3,224.09 by broker Eddie Brown for a door-to-door move with no hidden fees. I paid $1,280 upfront. On moving day, the driver demanded $900 more before evaluating anything and threatened to cancel without refund. I was coerced into signing a new contract. I was charged $2,445.62 at pickup and $2,845.63 at delivery (including a $400 distance fee), totaling $6,571.25—more than double the estimate, in clear violation of the 110% limit for non-binding estimates. The quote was wildly inaccurate, and I was deceived from start to finish.

Last Minute Booked

Booked a move last minute from Canoga Park, CA to Bend, OR. The representative on the phone was helping and understanding of my situation in needing to book last minute as I had to cancel with my last movers on site because of a price dispute. My estimate didn’t change onsite unlike my last nightmare. The crew onsite worked hard and got my items loaded pretty quick. Items got delivered in less than a week. Would recommend these guys out of all the movers that I’ve worked they are pretty high up there.

Value Added Moving company stole $1,464.21 from me.

I made a reservation deposit on August 14, 2025, via bank draft in the amount of $1626.90 for a move to Taos, NM, in October 2025. I cancelled the move the next day, August 15, 2025, via email and requested a refund. I can provide a copy of the Payment Authorization Form which states “Deposits are refundable if the customer cancels the order within 72 hours of placing their reservation (minus 10% Merchant Fees).

I have pursued this refund for seven months now. I have spoken to agents at customer service at least fifteen times. In those calls, I was told many things, including that I would get a call back, that the check is on the way, etc., none of which was true. I finally got a call back (the first one) on March 10 from the new manager of two months, Brian, who told me that they have a policy of not refunding bank drafts in ANY circumstances. That was not communicated to me at the time, or I would not have given the deposit by bank draft. On the contrary, I have the Payment Authorization form they sent me that says that I will get a refund if cancelled within 72 hours. Beware this unscrupulous and deceptive company.

Moving from Virginia to Pike Road Alabama

I am a retired combat veteran who needed a 2BR moved and I reached out to Value Added because they claimed that they specialize in moving and they cater to the military so I was sold. Spoke to an individual named Michael who walked me through what my intent was. I gave him a list of things I had and he drew up an estimate for like 3500 dollars with me having to pay 1895 down. I did that and thought I was set up. Boy was I wrong. When I received my contract I noticed it stated medium boxes on there so when I got a QA call to confirm my shipment I told them that I didn’t have just medium boxes that I had multiple sizes and they told me that it didn’t matter what sizes I had. I also told the QA team that I had more boxes than what Michael had down. Michael had me down for 25 boxes in which I told him that I had over 25 boxes so when I spoke to the QA individual he changed my number from 25 to 40 and gave me another estimate in which I was good to go to pay. The payment changed by at least 400 dollars which was ok for me. Once I finished packing everything up I recounted my boxes and I had 58 boxes so I reached back out to the QA individual named Merc or Marc and asked him to make the final adjustment and no one responded. So now it’s time for my appointment and they scheduled it at 6pm to 8 pm for some strange reason and I waited for them to find out that they were not coming on the day they gave me. The driver called me and told me that he would be there the following day from 8am to 10am. I waited and the driver showed up and told me that I have more stuff than what he was supposed to be picking up. I found it annoying that I couldn’t contact value added anymore and I was annoyed that they had subcontractors coming to pick my stuff up and he charged me over double the price! So I went from 3500 to 8000 dollars to move my stuff when I could have done it myself for cheap. I had already packed everything myself so all I needed was to get me a UHAUL truck hire some helpers and load the truck myself but Value Added had me sold that they would take care of me and they left me high and dry with an expensive bill to pay! Now I know a lot of veterans who have served and military service members who are continuing to serve and I will let them know not to seek Value Added for their services because they rob veterans! I thought they were going to take care of me now I gotta pay double just to get my items when I should not have too!!! This is how you treat your Veterans! Give one price of 3500 dollars but end up paying 7900 when it is delivered! That is not taking care of veterans!

Scam Artist

If you're into charity hire this company because you'll literally be giving money for no move being performed. They'll try to trick you into accepting a move within ten days so that even when you try to cancel inside of 24 hours of initial contact they won't give you your money back. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

This was my first time moving with a professional company, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the initial booking call to the final delivery, they truly saved the day. The team had excellent communication, were incredibly friendly, professional, and punctual! I opted for the full packing service (where they brought all the materials and packed up my closets, cabinets, and everything), and they even made a second stop along the way. They were quick and efficient.

They were absolutely fantastic! They showed up on time. Communication was excellent. I had some things put in the house and some things put in my basement and they seemed very unbothered by that.. Everything was unloaded with the utmost care. They were quick and efficient. Absolutely five star service. Everything arrived safely and was unloaded safely. If I ever move again and I hope I don’t. I would definitely recommend these two gentlemen they did a great job.

I trust them completely.

I have moved so many times in my life (local, regional and internationally). It can be immensely stressful, and frustrating. I think that these folks at Value Added Moving represent the best of the best. It comes down to doing what is right.. character! I cannot recommend them enough. The movers came on time and were super fast.

Value Added Moving is extremely professional with their work. I hired them in a rush because the first two companies I hired bailed on me. They not only answered to my request immediately, but they were also fast on providing all paperwork I needed. The movers came on time and were super fast in carrying and moving all my stuff. They also wrapped my furniture's and moved them carefully. I highly recommend this company to anyone that is moving soon.

My highest recommendation.

We used Value Added Moving today for a complicated interstate move that involved storage units and our home. Movers were exceptional. They treated all of our furniture with care, and were a pleasure to spend the day with. The overall cost of the move was a bargain. I was impressed.

I truly appreciate how fast the responsiveness was giving with this company. It was literally within minutes after I reached out. Even though they were running late for my move, I was still informed in advance which I appreciated. I’m pretty sure this company had another pickup before me so I wasn’t a bit upset especially with it being a Friday. Once arrived, it was a quick walk through on what items/ furniture needed to be moved. After that the 3 guys got right to business with moving and shrink wrapping and protecting what was needed. They were very efficient and careful with every item. They truly know how to protect your furniture from being damaged. I was impressed.

So grateful to these guys.

So grateful to these guys. I needed help moving a couch that ended up being heavier than I anticipated as well as a few other smaller items. They showed up a couple of hours after I called and got the job done so quickly. They were quick to respond and even called ahead to tell me they could come earlier than they originally estimated. They were by far the best movers I have used. They were responsive. Arrived right on time and had everything done in a flash and even stored my stuff for a few days while we were in between places. These guys were EXCELLENT!

These guys were EXCELLENT! Punctual, professional, responsive, and FAST! Literally took 2 hours TOTAL to move my things out of a storage unit via freight elevator, commute approximately 10-15 mins, and unload up one flight of stairs. I already had everything packed, but they secured everything PERFECTLY during transport. I will definitely request them when I move from here as it is only temporary. I've provided 3 angles of what was in the storage unit, and 4 angles of how it was placed in my living room! 5 stars!

Definitely recommend!

They know their job and do it well! The 3 guys showed up and went straight to work being mindful that we were paying by the man and the hour. We told them what we wanted and they did exactly what we asked. They worked extremely well as a team. They helped us put things back together and in the spot we asked. They were very knowledgeable and did a lot without any direction and made moving effortless for us. They did not damage anything in the move. In a word they were "Amazing". I cannot say enough good things about this company. We had a few changes to make to our move and they effortlessly accommodated us. What I appreciated about him was his price transparency and communication skills. This was really important to me as I felt other quotes were just making up numbers. He also did a price match. This was the best value of all the companies I requested a quote from.

This was the best value of all the companies I requested a quote from. The appointment scheduling process was very easy. The movers were prompt and professional. In all that I had to do before the move, I forgot to get back to him to let him know that I needed packing services, so the team didn't have boxes or tape. I only needed a few things packed, so I made it work, but I do suggest a final call to confirm all services a couple days before the move. I have no plans to move any time soon, but would use them again.
