One of the best companies I've ever used. I was nervous about moving but they made everything very easy. Price and customer service was excellent. If I ever have to move again I will definitely use them again.

Very impressed with the level of customer service.

Very impressed with the level of customer service, and professionalism of the team. Hired them for a corporate job-- clearing, storing, then bringing back furniture from a 6th floor. Not the easiest task-- yet the managed to take on the task and with great attitudes. I will definitely be using them exclusively in the future-- finding great and trustworthy companies is few and far between here-- I will stick with them!

Packing and moving

Horrible customer service, misrepresented, triple the cost. The first mover left because I didn't have the right boxes which Tyler the customer service representative said I could get my own and moving blankets. Then they took my blankets and tubs. All they did was run up the time for cost for them. So they brought another crew in the next day. I was to be out of my house that next morning and nothing was done. So they did the worst job. It was rushed, I was doing the job I hired them for which was to pack and move me.Some of my things are missing as I unpack. They refused to unload the truck unless I paid them almost 700.00 more. The cost was triple, over the amount they said over 9000.00 to move me 15 min away. They are the worst, do not hire this company. They are crooks! My invoice i had to fight to get does not match the amount paid. They will not explain anything and transfer you from one person to the next. AGAIN BEWARE! YOU WILL REGRET HIRING THESE PEOPLE! IM DESVISTATED.

I cant even imagine a better moving experience.

I cant even imagine a better moving experience. They protected every piece of furniture and box, they lost or broke absolutely nothing, and worked every minute. The price was very affordable for the four guys and 2 trucks, and it was painless. My husband and I kept looking at each other in amazement. We are so happy with everything they did for us.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Omaha, NE

Worst Moving Company on The Planet.

I would give NO stars if that was an option. My fiance and I have used professional moving companies 6 times and this was by far the WORST and LEAST professional experience encountered. Originally we were provided a quote that beat a reputable competitor. I asked Gary White, the salesperson that incessantly called me, whether an in home visit was necessary to beat our preferred moving company and he assured me that MidAmerican could rely on the quote provided by said moving company. The factor that really sold us on MidAmerican was their ability to store our belongings in Des Moines, Iowa which we were assured would allow for quick delivery. In fact, Gary White told me that our items could be delivered in 1-3 hours after the request was made since our final destination was Omaha, Nebraska.

Imagine our surprise when Gary's promises didn't come to fruition. The driver, Max, arrived to pick up our belongings and required we agree to pay an additional $800. At that point we had nowhere else to store our belongings nor did we have the time required to find a new moving company. It was at this point the driver informed us our stuff would be stored in Skokie, Illinois, a 9 hour drive from Omaha, Nebraska. Imagine our surprise and disappointment!

Over the course of the next 4 weeks while our belongings were held hostage by MidAmerican, we attempted to contact Gary and the dispatch manager, Kris, at least 7 times to confirm our belongings were being stored properly in Des Moines, Iowa, and would be delivered promptly on our requested date as was previously negotiated and confirmed. Not surprisingly, neither Kris nor Gary responded to any of our correspondence. In fact, we finally got ahold of Kris and following our initial request for an update Kris immediately became defensive and raised his voice in the most unprofessional manner we have ever experienced not only from a moving company but any customer service provider. Kris was unable to tell us when our belongings would arrive in our new home nor could he locate the driver or the location of our things.

Ultimately, although 3 days late our things arrived at their final destination. However, we incurred hundreds of dollars worth of hotels and other personal expenses while our things were unaccounted for. The driver, Nick, arrived 3 days late, and then of course he was 4 hours late from his anticipated arrival time. Needless to say our neighbors were less than thrilled to have us moving into a condo building on a Sunday evening. Immediately upon arrival the driver assessed another $300 fee and demanded we pay him in cash or he would leave our stuff in the alley. We quickly ran to an ATM so our things would no longer be in MidAmerican's possession let alone an alley in the middle of downtown. At this point we were so frustrated by the company that we probably would have paid anything to have our things back safely and securely. Upon payment of the additional $300 the movers moved our items into our condo. At one point the driver was operating a dolly and texting from his cell phone when he rammed the dolly into our custom cabinetry. When asked about the remedy for the dent in the cabinet he suggested we file a claim.

Not only were the movers rude and inconsiderate, many of our items were broken. Many wine glasses, plates and miscellaneous items were shattered to which the movers suggested we file a claim to deal with our destroyed belongings. Most upsetting was an antique mirror given to me by my Great Grandmother that dates back to the 19th century. The movers suggested we packed the items incorrectly; little did they know, the items were packed by the movers at MidAmerican.

We are severely disappointed with the services provided by MidAmerican. The company: (1) intentionally takes advantage of their customers in very vulnerable situations, (2) under estimates the original estimate with the full intention of holding your belonging hostage in exchange for additional (and significant) cash payments, (3) provides worse customer service than any moving company, airline, DMV or literally any other company you can think of, and (4) the drivers are completely unprofessional, rude, negligent and extremely abrasive. If despite this review you still find the need to use MidAmerican for your moving needs, we hope you will expressly request that Kris not manage your account, and that Max or Nick not be your driver.

We are so displeased that we are considering filing a lawsuit against MidAmerican for the various misrepresentations, fraudulent statements and complete negligence on behalf of the their numerous drivers.

Official company response

1) We do not do in home estimates unless the customer lives within 50 miles of our office. This is a Dept of Transportation law not ours.
2) We do not "low ball" quotes. We went off a competitors estimate then confirmed with Charity and her husband before they signed the Estimate. The total price on the Estimate is not binding. Only the price per cubic foot is. This was explained verbally and in writing before Charity signed the agreement.
3) Charity and her husband were in Asia for 20 days prior to the delivery date. The 12 hour time difference and only being able to communicate via email made communication tough. We did respond
4) Our storage facility in Iowa was at capacity so we used our facility in Illinois. We did not charge Charity for the storage.
5) Charity's destination was more the 100 feet from the truck. It's very common for moving companies to charge for a "long carry". We did not charge for the elevator as most moving companies do.

Long-distance move from Littleton, CO to Goodyear, AZ

Extortion, plain and simple.

Do not use this company.

They will provide an estimate, then completely change the price, lie about the cubic feet (they are trying to claim we had 1600 cubic feet which they magically fit into a 20 foot truck with a 1,015 cubic ft max capacity) and if you ask any questions, they only respond with threats to keep your belongings. They arrived over 24 hrs late to load our belongings and took over 14 days to deliver them beyond the delivery date they originally agreed to, which yes, legally they have a right to do. Ethically is another matter, since they do not tell customers this up front.

When we finally did receive our belongings, we found multiple items with two and three stickers, including large items like our sofa, meaning they had counted the same items multiple times in their final cost calculation.

Our original estimate was for $2,400. They would not deliver our belongings until we paid them $6,800 also insisting the check be made out to a single individual whose name is not anywhere on the contract, rather than made out to the company itself.

When our items were finally delivered by BLVD moving, which they contract out to for delivery, we were informed we had 950 cb ft of items, NOT the 1600 cb ft they charged us for. Most of our wood furniture was scratched and damaged and several items never arrived at all, including my recently deceased father's tool box, several boxes, a shop vac, and a standing fan. The items that did arrive were filthy and had cockroaches from whatever storage facility they held our items in while they extorted us for more money.

We dealt with Kris, Sam (who enjoys yelling at you on the phone), and someone named Adam who claims he is their attorney and emails you from "court". This has been a complete nightmare. We spent 2 weeks in hotels with our pets, feeling like refugees. They claim they have "lost" our paperwork, claimed we had conversations we never had, and that we signed things we never signed (hence the "losing" of the paperwork they say backs them up).

We are filing complaints with the BBB, and have reached out to several news agencies, (we have an interview later today). This company is horrific on every level. If they find out you are searching for moving estimates and call you, as Aaron did with my recently widowed mother, hang up the phone.

Stay away!!

I don't even know if this company is in business and I filed a claim for the multiple items that were damaged or destroyed upon delivery. I have no idea where my items were stored, because they arrived dirty and repackaged. They do NOT return calls and their outfit definitely deals with brokers because I was two guys from New York City that delivered my goods in northern Michigan. I realize you get what you pay for, but in this case, I would never suggest to anyone to use this crooked outfit. Stay very far away - if they are even still in business, and now I have to file a small claims lawsuit to recoup the damages to my goods.

I would never use a broker again or this company.

Too many surprises. Started at $2900 estimate (that’s on the broker (Silver Star Moving Group who underestimates to get the business) then Moving Services gets into the game. Once they have all my belongings on the truck the estimate us now $9000! They charge extra for stairs? When time to deliver to new address, they don’t start unloading until they have cash in hand. I marked each box which room but they all ended up everywhere else but the room noted. Boxes were smashed. TV box clearly marked as TV & which side was top was smashed & on its side. Boxes were upside down. Plastic storage box shattered and contents falling out. After they left I went into the garage where they left their trash piled high for me to clean up. And they left somebody’s doghouse in my garage. Still haven’t unpacked everything yet so hope the doghouse people don’t have some of my stuff.
